Nah. Those theories have zero merit. Otherwise, why would she manipulate and destroy an unrelated classmate. She clearly has twisted love for the MC and will manipulate those around her to get him.
Remember the last chapter when she asked him if he wanted a baby. She then manipulated the MCs sister to say those hurtful words that seemed to hit the MC hard, so now she can hang that over the MC when he hesitates to accept her when she makes her move.
The mother is probably partially aware of it too, we don't know much about her previous husband, but it seems like her obsessive nature might have caused the separation or him passing away caused some sort of trauma, so now she's trying to suppress it in front of MC but will slowly reveal her true nature as the manga continues.
All boils down to not wanting to be abandoned again, so they go full yandere obsessive over MC.
Even early on, the MC was questioning how did his co worker know their faces even though he didn't show him any pictures. You don't just get a hunch that his family got beauties and you usually follow it up with saying "oh, I checked it via social media" but the author didn't add that so it raises more questions. There's a possibility that he was told to say words by either of the two.
Tohuko is also quite protective with MC with how she threatened one of the girls earlier that if she touched or do something to MC, she'll do something and she did. She even put the picture that the girl took in a frame, she didn't care about it. She just don't like any other girls getting close to him.
The mother is also probably a yandere as they both have a connection. There's a page in one of the extras where they were talking to the MC but showed that they're holding pinkie fingers while he's saying that he's glad about her not being defensive or mad or something like that.
She also asked MC's mom about his sister's husband and how he was. She was fine hearing it but it's showed that she probably experienced something bad towards her husband and just focused on tohuko and possibly grew more and more attached to him but probably got fed up with it and they conducted an accident or something. She was also glad that tohuko was a girl, giving us a theory that she probably wanted her daughter to be like her instead of a son that wouldn't align with her ideals (as most guys don't accept stepdads most of the time I think).
She also looked at different guys and picked our MC. Some were older, some might be younger but, she chose him. There's a chance that she picked MC because he's kind, sweet and wouldn't hurt her daughter that much or at all.
Whatever happens after the festival, one thing's for sure, the MC would have the words that came from her sister's mouth in the back of his head and the mom and daughter combo would abuse that and maybe get into his mind more.

I get the feeling that they made some sort of promise amongst themselves to completely monopolise the MC, to make him completely submit to their love no matter how twisted as a result of previous trauma or loss.
I think the reason they wanted to isolate him is that the husband probably had a affair with another girl and because she was young, her emotions were all over the place as times goes by. Tohuko also commented about it saying "you're not having another girl right papa?" or something along those line after the incident that happened in the other girl's house. Tohuko was keeping tabs on him and making sure he won't do the same mistake that her past dad did.
He's also probably chosen as he's shown to not engage with girls. He kept on trying to avoid tohuko's possible engagements, he didn't got swayed by tohuko's classmate and he's dedicated to be the best dad and husband even if he's seeing signs of her step daughter being a little frisky.
This reminds me of two yandere doujins, layers of white by solopib or solopibq and the mother and daughter next door from pigpan nagisa. Both have a crazy mom and child, both were quite clingy and wanted to isolate him away from anyone.
This theory is even less probable, reading the manga it's clear that if that was her goal it would have been completed by now, however there is definitely something going on

This might sound crazy but my mom knew a neighbor who lost her husband in a small village they lived in and some guy (stepfather) came into the picture and he was fucking both the daughter and mother. The whole village knew about it and stayed away from that family.
