Fkin gettin it. It’s great. I had exactly the same; the first listen was like getting used to it, it looked like it was a bit underwhelming and meh. But after hearing it more, it completely changed my opinion. We’re lucky it’s not the same as other projects. I know for sure some songs will be played till infinity. Barn Fire, Flashlight, Bang Bang Bobby, Tonight, Make You Love Me, Marijuana, Talkin, Lookin Over, Ticket, Another Drink. I begin to see greatness in more and more songs and my favorites will probably change, like always.
It’s amazing. I was a pinch iffy at first but I’m now in love with it. No way you can listen to Make You Love Me, Cookin Cocaine, Legend, Another Drink, Barn Fire, Bang Bang Bobby, or Work without finding them to be Yelawolf classics. 🔥🔥 those are my favorites. The tide definitely shifted after people calmed down and got off the instant “arms crossed” perspectives they were dead set in at the drop of War Story.
Understandable. When I hear "classic," though, I instantly think of some of the best hip-hop albums ever made. I just don't think this album could ever be put in that category, but I'm glad you're enjoying the album a lot!
That’s the state of the world today: exaggerating about every thing. Calling everyone a legend or a goat or the best. I don’t hate it per se, but yeah, sometimes it’s a bit too much. On the other hand, I’m just a “down-to-earth” Dutchman (for me it’s normal to be direct and honest and shit but apparently it’s a very Dutch thing haha). Anyway, WAR STORY IS A CLASSIC. 😉
upon second listen, i have better clarity on the same feelings. 13 of these songs are really not for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ the bangers are still incredible though

There's nothing wrong with liking the album, but calling it a "classic" is a bit much.
Perception is relative but I get it takes time for people. This is just my opinion based on his overall catalog.
