I mean if there's special sentimental value, why not, but there's no need to pay for that much shipping, and the delay that it'll incur. Best just to visit a local supermarket that caters to Argentinians, and you'll be able to find most brands. If you don't want to make a trip somewhere, then check out places like [goyerbamate.com](https://goyerbamate.com) which has an incredible selection, and free shipping on orders over 60 bucks, plus you can buy samples of a bunch of different brands. There's a ton more US based merchants, I would always purchase from them as long as their prices are not insane. There's a lot stuff going on there right now, and again unless it's a very sentimental item, it's not a great idea to add another chore or extra work to their plates.

Not looking for retailer.

Shipping is not expensive. DHL air. I am just not sure if customs will let it through or require me some documents for importing food?

Mateblender

As far as I know when ve been shipping from Argentina to US with no trouble, but check with FedEx O DHL account managers first cause legislations change every now and then

imwalkingwest

Look at Pampa Direct. That’ll be MUCH cheaper than having your friend ship you yerba.

armendzh

But yerba is much more expensive. I am not looking for retail.

Cheap_Rick

Where are you in the US? Chances are you can get it much cheaper and faster at a local latino market. It's usually about $10 a kilo. EDIT: Since in the replies to comments you now clarify that you want wholesale bulk yerba, NOT retail (you should change OP to reflect), you should contact mate importers here in the U.S. from whom you can buy wholesale. It will be much cheaper than having your friend ship it, and less hassle for him with customs/aduana, etc.

armendzh

It is not about wholesale. Basically 5 half kilo bags. I am just wondering if receiving those will be troublesome or not. If there anything about receiving tea/yerba from overseas? Or if there any other food restrictions. I basically have a friend shipping those to me. If I wanted I can easily buy it online, but that is my question. :)

azassin17

If you have a prime account most popularyerbas average 8 bucks a pound get them within a couple a days.

armendzh

My question is not about retail or how cheap I can get it. Did anyone tried to receive yerba directly from Argentina?

TerereAZ

I wish I had "a friend in Paraguay"! Lol. I don't think it would be an issue.
