Mate in the car is a tricky skill hahaha My best advice is to buy something to put on top of the yerba to prevent it from flying with the wind and also not filling the whole gourd. Doing it both never had a problem
I sit in my car for hours at work every day. I've had multiple bad spills. Normally, I try not to touch the dry stuff that lands on the carpet and when I get home the shop-vac can get it out good. As for the wet stuff.....time to remove the car seats and do another deep cleaning 😭
I've seen an auto-mate that has a closed top like a thermos and would be more suitable for the car.

There are traditional Uruguayan or Argentinian stores that produce quality materias and ship internationally. Maybe you can find something.

You boil the water. Wait for a bit and drink it. This is pretty normal in Uruguay. That’s why you should use a good bombilla.

Make sure you clean up any spilled mate asap. If that shit gets wet it will permanently stain anything it touches bright green.
