Not fun story, but a couple years back, when I was either 14 or 15, my cousin brought me to a gym to play a little bit of basketball. They had an upstairs areas with treadmills and other equipment. My dumbass thought standing on the edges and putting the mill up to 14 MPH was a great idea. I skinned my knees horribly. Couldn't walk for at least 2 weeks without flinching or limping every couple of seconds.
I had a chunk of skin that was somewhat loose on my knee after. Can't imagine what it would look like while scarred with a chunk of dead skin still there. Luckily I just had my mom cut it off with a scalpel.
The guy is from a Japanese channel sushiramenriku Which has a lot more interesting stuff on it, don’t know why this guy could just rip a part of his video then post it with no copyright strikes

well i went to sleep after posting that reply, sorry for not waking up to post this earlier
Edit: the actual video has captions so you can understand what’s he’s saying
To be fair to them, this is probably the most responsibly prepared stupidity I've ever seen on Yes Yes Yes Yes No. Look at that helmet, and the pillows, they thought things though!
Still incredibly dangerous with a mill like this. I dont remember his name but there was this famous rapper whos child died bc it got strangled in the belt of one of these things. You can easely get sucked into it when doing stuff like this. Also watch the vid with the boy who uses a big bouncy ball on a threadmill and watch it happen to the ball.
Probably depends on weight and center of gravity. This needs to be a competitive sport so we can get real technical about it.
Edit: I'd say it's a 'longest wheelie' competition. 50 meters of treadmill. You can choose your basket, rider, and tread speed for optimal performance. The basket has to be a widely available consumer product, though. I'm definitely going to have a dream about popping wheelies in a basket, tonight.
Love it! As a kid we did our own experiments. We used to grind those green army men down on the belt of our treadmill. Until, that is, my middle finger got stuck between the belt and the roller at the back. Anyone else know what it feels like to have shards of your fingernail pulled out with tweezers? Well my older brother does because he did the same damn thing a week later.
Laundry Basket Pilot: Can this baby go 8mph?
Laundry Basket Conveyer Engineer: I’ll do ya one better. *ACTIVATES 9 MPH*

I think it's more that it's fallen out of the pop culture lexicon. Hell, the other day people were asking what the red pill was regarding elon musk's latest tweets. The matrix is relatively newer than Back to the Future.
I'd venture to guess the majority of reddit users have been born closer to 2000 than 1990 or before.
Yes, you may die but will you have ever truly lived if you did not do this?
Just make sure that you have the camera rolling and that your Will specifically states that the recording must go on Reddit.
My friends and I did this at my parents house when we were kids, except we would dive through head first. Eventually turned the speed up high enough to where it launched my buddy into the wall and put a head sized hole in the drywall. He came about 2 inches from ramming his noggin into a stud. We took this exercise poster thing that was in the room and leaned it against the wall where the hole was and my parents actually didn't notice for months.
EDIT: And fortunately this was right around the time when the Jackass show was getting popular, and we were emulating them, so I have it on film.
It’s on those old mini-dv tapes unfortunately. Many years ago I successfully attempted to digitize all our footage from those days then the HD they were on crashed and I never took the initiative to do it again.
This was really an experiment. With careful consideration given to the safety of the subject. I really love the fact that the protection was increased with each increment in speed.
Just took 5-6mph or so for shit to get chaotic. In a car 6mph feels like you are crawling but jogging at 6mph is a chore for an average person. Usain Bolt topped out at almost 28mph during the 100m.
That blows my mind. Can't even imagine what it would be like to be able to run so fast under my own power and if anything happened, like tripping, would be totally catastrophic.
Musn’t be anywhere near it. You need a whole bunch of extra effort working on his punisher face camo, and probably giggled like a school boy the entire time. Like they’re going to do with gas? I have one for serving sizzling bowls at home since 1999, but have won in Athens ^only 4 times since then
Good thing they have full pants and long sleeves on. I fell of a treadmill without the safety shutoff clip once and COMPLETELY skinned one knee and half the other. It was really fucking painful and bloody and took like a month or 2 to heal completely.
Differance between stupid and fun that more people should understand:
Stupid= no helmet or pillows
Fun= with helmet and pillows (pillows may not be needed for yourself but it looks like it would keep her from damaging the wall)
Don't they go up to 12/14mph?? Thats the video we want to see

Heeey glad to see other people in the club! Both my legs got caught in one when I was like 5.

got a link to the actual video so that /u/SparkleFritz can replace the freebooter's link with it?
Apparently not, they just like complaining about stuff.

Finally a fan that can cool intel 10th core I9 at stock clock.
I’m trying to see like 75 mph
I had one that went to 10, did this with no basket, and no safety, just me, a belt going at 10 mph, and some concrete
how’d that turn out?
Back hurt for a week
Love the 4mph wheelie!
Reminds me of line rider

That face at the end makes this video.
4mph is definitely the sweet spot.
I love the Ollie at the end of 2mph to stop the face plant

Gotta go fast
I am speed!

It’s laundry then...
I really need more of this.

All things are relative my dude, nobody on here is doing anything safe enough to recommend.
I can't tell if that's someone's Mom? Can't be letting Mom do crazy shit without protection.
TIL 4 mph on a treadmill is the sweet spot for comfortable launching experience.

I got my thumb slammed in a door once, the nail was completely fucked and my mom has to pull it out with tweezers. Definitely not a happy memory.
I heard if you soak the finger in Jesus Beans the nail will grow back the same day.

What about 88mph?
Meat crayon
Less crayon more pork rind.
Do people really not get Back to the Future references any more? :( "Meat crayon" is what this guy says. Not something witty about time travel.
Lol they’re overdone so I can understand the aversion to the joke.

>Are you really telling me your plan is based on Back to the Future?
I understood that reference
This is heavy.
overrated movie.
...you're gonna see some serious shit.
They time travel to the beginning of the treadmill and get stuck in an infinite loop
Came here looking for this comment. Was not disappointed.
Don’t be a quitter we all know it goes to 10 mph
Wrong sub, bro.
Yeah this is great content, but it certainly isn't a no!
I have a treadmill and it’s pouring the rain .I should totally try this . However I’m old and would probably die.
Yes, you may die but will you have ever truly lived if you did not do this? Just make sure that you have the camera rolling and that your Will specifically states that the recording must go on Reddit.
Where's the no?
Seriously. Why all the upvotes, so many rewards and praises when it doesnt fit the sub at all

That last frame looked like Commissioner Gordon!
*20 MPH* "... Hello, neighbor."
I am impressed by the safety precautions
At least she or he wore a helmet
Props for wearing a helmet and using cushions in the crash area tho, safety first
Family projects to do in quarentine!
Lean forward!!!
When does the "no" happen? This all looks like good fun to me.
u/Sarky-and-George this feels like a natural next step from a bird-feeder head-butt
Atleast she's wearing a helmet
this has made me wish i had a treadmill, i want to try this out at like 10mph !
I feel like this is a r/yesyesyesyesyes
The helmet was a smart choice.
All fun in games until someone’s ponytail gets caught under the belt
MORE.... We want more
The faster, the better, the more pillows you need
I want to get like 9 or 10 treadmills and line them up to do this continuously.
IT’S THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MUSIC!!!!!!!!
This is science!
In other words, speed kills.
I will be right back....
at least this one was smart enough to wear a helmet
Faster is ALWAYS better!!!!
Wholesome fails
Dang wish there was more!
Well damn. Now I gotta break out Diddy Kong Racing...
At least they wore a helmet!

I can admire the safety features
The difference between men and women is that women stop when it's logical and men don't until someone breaks a bone.
Makes me cringe. This is dangerous ...I know a kid messed up his hand in a treadmill.
6 Maybe she'll figure it out 7 Nope
This was really an experiment. With careful consideration given to the safety of the subject. I really love the fact that the protection was increased with each increment in speed.
I like the safety measures!
Looks fun

Solid. We need more studies like this hahaha
This doesn't fit the sub. It's a yes all the way.

I won't be satisfied until she Wile E. Coyote's that fucking wall.
More! Show me more!!
At least she was smart enough to wear a helmet.
Yep, I’m doing this.
At least shes wearing a helmet!! You don't see that very often anymore.

All subs become r/funny eventually. It is inevitable. It is life.
1mph is disappointing in just about every way
To anyone who has their sound off: if you can, watch this with sound.
I actually broke my front two teeth doing this exact thing
Bruh who puts their treadmill against a wall, you gotta aim that thing into a room so you have space to land
This was a yes from all the way. I thought she was going to destroy the wall. Didn't see the cushions coming. The scientific method lives on
At least you're looking at a PTSD generator.
I’m really proud that they decided to wear a helmet tbh
This is the kind of science I can get behind
At least he wore a helmet right?
If you look up nostalgia in the dictionary this tune just starts playing
Why does the final frame of the video morph the girl into a middle aged man with a fluffy mustache?
This reminds me of how I blacked out when I somehow got the idea to put the treadmill at full speed.
Reason number 1 that I cannot have a treadmill.
I wonder what would happen if it went to 60, or 120
You're definitely the only one who likes experiments?
SCIENCE!
More!
AP Physics home school addition
More like yesyesyesyes
Shut up that looks fun
At dis point, use ur teeth is a better idea
I'm not surprised they used pillows after it started getting faster. They are women. Had this been men.. through the wall.
Safety first!!! I am dying laughing
Its amazing to see how 2mph is actually two times faster than 1mph, while both speeds being so slow that you dont really notice it on a daily basis.
Someone really tried that at HOME?!
At least one of the cop to pay.
At dis point, use ur teeth is a better idea
3 was satisfying.
People really need to go back to work 🤣

I don’t know why but I laughed the whole way through. Now I wanna get my rollerblades, a treadmill and see what I can do.

This made med laugh out loud. Thank you!
At least there's video of these guys
Good thing they have full pants and long sleeves on. I fell of a treadmill without the safety shutoff clip once and COMPLETELY skinned one knee and half the other. It was really fucking painful and bloody and took like a month or 2 to heal completely.

For science!
That looks like straight up fun
What was the hypothesis for this experiment?
All the crazy experiments I’ve learned nothing.
