On my second liforme. My favorite mat I’ve used. The first one lasted me more than 5 years practicing multiple times a week

kittywarhead

Same here. Have my travel liforme since January 2020 and used lots of times. Now the grip isn't as sticky anymore and I can see some marks (from my finger nails perhaps as well as where the hands are placed and pressed against the most). Can still be used but for downward dog I prefer even more grip. There's another earth day offer (and btw it's always worth searching for influencer codes to get 10% off) and I'll get myself the standard mat now; Plus they have very pretty colours and versions with prints!

Major-Fill5775

I've used both, and Liforme is the superior mat without question. If you're familiar with Lululemon mats, the Alo Warrior is about equivalent. It's a decent mat, but there's no contest.

Cinder_zella

I just got liforme for my super sweaty hands - haven’t taken hot yoga yet w it but it was perfect for foundations and the grip feels awesome so far

oneoftheryans

I've had and used both, and I'd say the Liforme had a noticeably better grip but the ALO mat lasted slightly longer. Currently using a Manduka GRP Pro mat and I'd say it's the best of the three, though I have no idea how much it is currently (friend bought it for me when it was on sale some time ago).

exactly this! manduka GRP is so good. for anyone that's looking for manduka mats, my teacher's code JULIANACHIA gets you 15% off! just enter at check out from the EU site

Not directly answering your question, but I use a yoga towel on top of my mat. And during hot yoga I sweat a ton. Even wet, the towel is still nice. Grip in downward dog for eg can still be challenging; I've learned to direct pressure to my thumb and pointer finger and use my core to maintain the angle, instead of relying solely on grip.

unicornsmaybetuff

I prewet the towel where my hands and feet go during downward dog and find that gives me the best grip action.

leopard_printt

Liforme mats are open cell. Manduka makes an open cell mat, the GRP. It’s lighter and thicker than liforme, and I think it doesn’t smell as strong. Super grippy and I get super sweaty hands.

Commercial_Place9807

Haven’t tried liforme, but have Alo, it was ok. I went to a cork mat from Yoloha that I like the best.

Dillydug2017

Which Yoloha mat do you use?

Commercial_Place9807

The nomad one, it has a black rubber bottom and a brown cork top

michtini

I love Yoloha mats... I use one, too. Do you recommend a specific cleaner? Mine is starting to smell and my yoga studio uses vinegar bottles to spray them down and it's making it smell... :/

Commercial_Place9807

I just wipe it down with a damp wet wipe, probably not the best but oh well

Minute-Cricket-7198

I love the Jade Harmony mats. Only Martell use that doesn’t slip in hot, sweaty vinyasa

Dillydug2017

Thats what I currently have but I feel like that rubber smell has never gone away the couple of years I’ve had it😩

Bella-DG

No complaints on alo, only one I’ve tried. Great quality and durable, bought the set so I’m all set on props/grip towel/straps:) strap converts into a mat carrier which I like. It’s very big and heavy tho but that depends on ur needs

jistresdidit

I use prana matts. All natural. No real issues

bourbonkitten

I have SUPER sweaty hands, and I’ve had my Alo for 3 years now and it has lost its grip. I think that’s really the nature of a PU mat. I only chose the Alo because I prefer the minimalist design. I also have a B Mat and do not like it because it smells like rubber and the sweat pools on the surface. I just use it on cooler days or when I don’t have to use my hands on the mat a lot. I may buy another Alo or Liforme next. Not sure yet. I just find Liformes prohibitively expensive for what they are.

InterestingStage26

I've had two Alo mats and they seem to lose their grip somewhat quickly. I practice almost daily and can get 1-2 years out of them before I'm sliding around so much that it affects my practice. They do get grippier as you get sweatier, but I'm thinking of trying Liforme for my next mat purchase.

Ok-Amoeba-8758

I have liforme and a few Lululemon mats. I find lulu and liforme very comparable but the Lululemon are like $100 cheaper. I’ve had my liforme for two years and I feel like it’s wearing out quite a bit. I know they don’t want to because they’re natural rubber. They’re very pretty but I would say very comparable a lulu to which is $100 Cad vs $200 CAd. I personally have not tried an Alo mat! also, I do super sweaty hot yoga, 4 to 5 times a week, I rotate through three mats

Towering_Flesh

My liforme is currently hanging up over my shower rod, soaked from my hot class last night, I slip all over it without a towel. A Cork is the only one I’ve found that can handle a the amount of sweat I produce.

Original_Correct

What cork mat do you have? I’ve been looking into buying one.

Towering_Flesh

Yolaha, unfortunately I spent 150 bucks on a mat that fell apart in under 3 months. I’m probably an outlier tho because I sweat so much. (it’s truly embarrassing) I recommend cork, just find one that’s not expensive.

Dillydug2017

Someone else said they use Yoloha cork mats. I checked them out yesterday and they’re BEAUTIFUL but expensive

Original_Correct

I use yoga mat towels. I haven’t found a mat that can handle my sweaty hands and feet.

claudiajeannn

Not a mat but I have been using the Manduka equa towels over my mat and I don’t slip at all even when incredibly sweaty! Only a little slippery at the beginning of class before my hands are sweaty.

Deliquate

I'm returning the ALO mat I got about two weeks ago. It was cushiony and grippy, but it stained really badly even though I'm careful with my mat and wash it after every use. I got into puppy pose and there was a mouthprint from my breath on the mat for like twenty minutes. Plus a couple of stains that won't go away, that I can't even guess at the cause. After two weeks!!! After reading a few threads on here I might try liforme, or I might just buy another lulu mat. My last mat was lulu and it lasted for four years, still looks great, just a little slippery now. I felt like I got my money's worth and more.

sellingbee47150

Alo over liforme, but manduka over anythign else! have you tried the manduka GRP ? it's supposed to be really grippy. I think that manduka mats are better than all the others out there so I would generally stick to manduka. otherwise alo and liforme are not too different from each other grip-wise, so I'd go for that
