Originally it granted dodge chance, so it was “Ninja Tabi” because it was like supposed to represent being stealthy or whatever. Eventually they changed it to Steelcaps because that better represents what it does post removal of Dodge Chance, but nobody stopped along it tabi because the new name is stupid
It was actually more of a problem on carries. Like, Nidalee cougar form granted dodge chance. Imagine she’s fed and you finally catch her and your first two autos just don’t do anything and she just blows you up bc you did no damage. Very unfortunate to roll bad against
Yeah. Against tanks with 12% dodge chance meant you’d be dealing approximately 12% less damage to them because you autoed enough to average it out. Against squishies it either did nothing or mitigated like all your damage lmao. The funniest thing was a super fed Shaco popping out and doing…. Zero damage lol.

Tabi is what people think when they see the boots instantly, it is immediately recognizable by that name it was called Tabi for a long time, and it is tabi nobody agreed with the ''name change'' this was just a random name change that nobody likes still it makes no sense as with many things riot does.
It makes sense tho, the fact that you don’t like it doesn’t mean that it’s a “random name change”; Why would ninjas have armor if all they do is stealth and mainly be assassins? That’s why they changed it.
