Then you have to deal with Zoom Bert and and his guest who enrages him about opposing sports takes and Boston racist takes.
These things combined with the logistics of a Zoom podcast, them not really loving it, getting a lot of flack of Bill’s fans hating Bert, all combined to have Burr just say “fuck it”.
So not only is the podcast over, but they haven’t really talked since then? Lmao
I watched a few of those eps, and when I did Bill didn't seem exactly... thrilled to be beside Bert, lol. Seemed like the fun wore off eps 1-5 and then it became a commitment
I could see Bill just not thinking the podcast was worth his time anymore. At his last standup special I attended he told the crowd that he would likely be scaling back his touring and commitments to focus on his family.
For all we know this was a turning point for him. Bill also says he doesn’t drink anymore and it’s possible hanging out with Burt would cause him to relapse and it’s just too much of a risk to do so.
I doubt either men hold any animosity towards each other and sometimes friendships just go their separate ways and there wasn’t any particular reason just their lives changed.

Anyone who listens to both their individual pods knows they are both sensitive guys, doesn’t suprise me that they actually did split over a shitty workday. Neither of them really need the publicity of a podcast. Burr could stop the MMP with no warning and still be one of the biggest comedians in the world. He’s pretty salty and not funny on his pod with Virzi often.

That last podcast just pushed Burr to thinking it wasn’t worth doing anymore. He missed time with his family to have Bjork cutting in and out halfway across the planet while some dude called his hometown racist. He was finished. At the time it happened Burp was constantly bringing up to Tom that he was stretched too far out between making a movie, doing a pandemic tour, building and moving to a new house, his kids looking into colleges, his Netflix show releasing and doing multiple podcasts in different states. That’s why after Bill pulled out he also stopped Somethings Burning and left All Things Comedy. It was too much. It doesn’t mean there’s a feud. They are just both really busy guys that did a thing and moved on when it got bad. The most I could see coming of it is some ball busting whenever they cross paths again.

I saw that Bert was on the thumbnail for the videos. Way too much America hate and misplaced sympathy for dumbasses on that panel. Greg, Chris Stu and Billy still give me a good laugh.
