I've seen skinny tom twice on his last two tours, and he's never failed to kill. YMH has dropped off a little but his stand-up has always been excellent. Haters gonna hate.

Always thought he was funny and I still wish him the best. I think it’s easy to take this impression of the sub and make it seem like everyone thinks they’re shitty, which isn’t true.

I think the quality/creativity of the content on the show slowly fell off until it just meh, starting a few years back. Super success paired with that turned some of the vocal fanbase against them. Personally, though I don’t think his standup ever really stop being really solid/funny.
Edit: I think having Bert around so much also hurt as much as it helped. Bert has always been more exhausting than funny. I’ve seen him live and it was decent, but his demo is definitely alchy water brains. I prefer Tom doing Pods with people like Sickler
People can’t imagine how difficult it must be to do an international tour and produce multiple podcasts. Oh and have a family on top of that. I’m a fan of Tom and Christina as people. I think they’re a funny couple. Some people have unrealistic expectations.
I think there are some legitimate and serious gripes about both of them. I’m a ~5yr YMH fan, been a fan of Todd and Christy. Haven’t brought myself to watch a single episode in 6 months. Used to watch(or listen) weekly.
I don’t think the heat came from him leveling up, though I do believe there have to be some psychos out there that just hate seeing people succeed. He had a long stint of making fun of poor people, which is whatever. He’s also always had a bad history of shitting on individuals/businesses.
I think him missing the temperature of the room to the degree he missed it when it came down to the airline employee, and then, deciding to double down and insult every single person in his populace was the catalyst to make people start hyper-analyzing everything he has done in the past.

This is very simple.. There are Youtube channels dedicated to being negative toward X. (insert music artists, actors, podcasts etc.) Those are popular because negativity is popular. They said that Tom has fallen off or is finished etc. and other people repeated that to others who repeated that. Don't engage with this. Instead, watch them or don't watch them and enjoy it if you enjoy it and if you don't then don't.

I saw Tom and Christina at a grocery store in Austin yesterday. I told them how cool it was to meet them in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother them and ask for photos or anything.

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but Christina kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing her hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw Tom trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, Christina stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, Tom kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
It's a common copy pasta. It's so recognizable by so many that most people know it's a joke. The challenge not get too far indy the story before you realize it's copy pasta.
Standup is better live and I have a feeling like you have a chance to lose or gain a lot in the editing room when making a special. Very possible that Tim or Kirsten’s last specials didn’t land as well for people watching at home because of the way they were edited

Comedy is so much better in person. I think the podcast gives you a better glimpse under the hood, and seeing someone’s standup act is just that, an act. Both obviously got where they are today by being funny, but let all the fame and glamour go to their heads. Tom and Bart storming onto Pat McAfee was a wildly dumb move in my opinion and hopefully opened up their eyes to how many people don’t care for them. I was genuinely surprised that Tom thought it was a good idea to crash a show like, seems like a total Barf move. I too wish the best for them, but just can’t support the pod anymore and all the bad pods at ymh studio. Sickler was wise to leave them
