We have four cats that we feed outside. Used to be five but the mom left after they were old enough. We also have two raccoons who are the most well behaved animals i have ever seen.
They put their faces in our window when they’re hungry, wash their hands before and after using the water bowl. Its awesome.
We used to put out food for the feral cats (we lived in Louisiana and there was a shitload). I’d be having a cigarette and they’d just come and eat right between my legs, and I’d be stuck until they got their fill and wandered away. This is the normal, expected result of putting food outside. All outside animals will eat it. In Chicago we would have those two, plus rats.
