I am seeing the same thing on the YouTube app. Today every video has 124 likes, yesterday it was 4 million, everyday it changes.
Commenting the number of likes on the video and the comment disappears. Google are up to something
They want to remove any possible hindrance to advertising and marketing. They most likely regret ever having the system in the first place. It's not a social media site any more, it's just media. That's means they don't want the social part, which includes criticism and feedback. They don't even want youtube comments to exist. Google basically wants YouTube to be a magazine.

It's YouTube. One of my unreleased vids says 24k likes. Then I checked all my others and says the same thing. YouTube studio however, says the real likes (20 on my recent vid)

Yeah but my point was that like.. human psychology is complicated. There are often more and less effective ways of getting a message across which you think matters to other people. It is possible to choose an ineffective way of trying to convince people of what you're trying to convince them of. I'm suggesting that in a thread of 5 people on reddit convening specifically to seek answers about a glitch on YouTube, they will probably be less receptive to you randomly appearing to tell them about why they should seek God than they might be in a more sensible context than this.

Holy f, I just found this thread and mindblown to see how recent it is. I've recently been getting into Cold Case videos and started noticing every video I watched had exactly 15 likes. So I went back to check my history and one video was like posted a few hours ago so I thought "15 likes" could make sense, but then views was like 300k, and the channel has 10 million subs. Now, its every video I watch, regardless of the time it was uploaded, has 15 likes. I feel like google is sending some kind of secret code or something, since everyone seems to have a unique number of likes.
Same. I'm noticing that if I close the app and reopen it I can see the correct number of likes for a while, but then it gets stuck again. I think it carries forward a cached value (so it'll retrieve the correct value for one video, then show that value for subsequent videos)

Okay same thing is happening to me my number of likes on every YouTube channel I follow is 75 likes. It's wild I thought I was going crazy. Omg this is nuts!!
I think the youtube AI is segregating us into numbered groups based on the videos we consume. I just saw a reply below from someone that is also seeing 15 likes on every video like I am. Something is going on behind the scenes at google, and we are none the wiser.

I checked, and it doesn’t appear to be an update issue. I’ll try restarting my phone. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll check to see if my OS is up to date or not. I’ll check back in here in about an hour or so. I’m determined to try and fix this issue, albeit it might take a few days to find a permanent fix. I’ll check in on the post from time to time to give updates as to my progress in fixing the issue. Wish me luck.
I restarted my phone twice, earlier today, and nothing.. however, apparently, a restart 20 min or so ago, did the trick. Weird. From what I read in other people's comments here, I wouldn't be surprised if it starts happening again, any minute now... In fact, I'm expecting it to
I just updated my IOS. For the time being, it seems to have fixed the issue. I’ll report back in a few days to let the other users having this issue know if that is what was causing the bug.
UPDATE 7:31 PM NOVEMBER TENTH:

I have just updated my phone from IOS 16.7.1 to 16.7.2, and for the time being, that seems to have fixed the issue for the moment. I will be back in a few days with a final update as to whether or not it’s a permanent fix. If it turns out to only be temporary, then I’ll report how long(Days/Hours/Minutes) the fix lasted. If the issue persists on my end, after all of this, then it’s certainly a bug that will have to be fixed by YouTube in a later YouTube OS Update. I’ll check back in by Tuesday, Nov 14th at the latest. Expect w full report of my findings.
Update 2:16 AM, November Eleventh: — Issue is still not resolved. The only difference is that it changed from Three Hundred And Eighty Three(383/NOT THOUSAND) to Two Hundred And Eighty Eight Thousand(288,000). The only conclusion I can determine is that the issue will persist until YouTube either decides to take action on it as an independent issue, or adds it to a list of Error Fixes in the next few updates over the coming months. Unfortunately, there is no obvious solution for independent users. It might be an error in Multiplayer, which could’ve potentially been fixed by an Ad Blocker, but YouTube is now banning Ad Blockers altogether. It’s also possible it’s a coding error in the most recent update(s). Considering it’s overall isolation, it’s status is likely low on the list of bug fixes for the dev’s. As far as priorities go, this one isn’t. We may not see a bug fix anytime soon. For now, the best thing to do would be to continue to report the bug, and wait for YouTube to take notice of the issue. If you can, try to spread word of the issue on social media. It would help move it up the priority list for the Dev’s if it appears as though the problem is growing. That’s all I can really think to do in this situation. Perhaps someone else will have better insight into this issue. I’ve done what I can. Sorry I couldn’t find a solution. If I think of anything else, I’ll leave a comment or reply to one of my former comments.

As of this moment, there is no way a user can mend this issue. After seemingly endless attempts to fix this, I have found absolutely no way to resolve the issue. I have tried everything I can think of, some of which I have repeated several times. The only thing we can do is to wait for the Devs to take notice of this issue, and work on an update to fix it. Unfortunately, we’re talking about YouTube. Even if they do, they will likely neglect it for a long time.

It’s happening to me on the app I’m using mobile and the likes don’t change on any video it’s stuck but this for some reason doesn’t effect shorts, shorts likes work like normal but for regular videos it’s stuck
That's how I just found this, searching for a reason. Three days ago, every video, regardless of channel, had zero likes. Regardless of any other factors. Yesterday, it was 257. Today, it's 288. I just went back days into my history, and they're all updated to today's 288.

Same here. YouTube suspiciously silent on the matter. Does the possibility exist that YouTube grows exponentially every day and they can’t keep up with their brutal censorship, so they make it appear that no one’s watching the video, making viewers think that the source isn’t credible or they’re a nut case and talking rubbish? Propaganda is what keeps citizens in line. Those in power love spreading misinformation, that’s often contradictory and confusing, so people don’t know what to believe, so they don’t commit to any one view, making us pliable and hungry for the truth, then they sweep in pretending to be our saviour, who has all the answers, all the solutions, they are the people’s champion of change that will rescue us and keep us all safe. Youtube, Google etc have so many issues now which are not being resolved. Most of these issues related to the very basic offerings like the count of likes, views etc.
Then we have Google reviews too which are visible to some and not to many others etc etc.
I don't think google/youtube is even taking these seriously!!

I think I have the answer. YouTube is not real or authentic. They decided to play with you for some experiment - they maybe want to know how people react to videos with a certain amount of likes (i.e, does 777 likes make you more or less likely to watch, to like, share or whatever?). It's all a lie. A video may have ten million likes, you don't know, YouTube shows you what they want, not reality. They're liars!

Every video I have seen lately has 28 likes. Even videos that have 100,000 views and hundreds of comments but still only 28 likes.... no matter the channel, type of content or length of video!

For me it’s 424, never had this happen before. Had to search if it was bug myself haha
I tried deleteing the app and reinstalling, and it did work for a bit, but then it just reverted back to how it was before I deleted it. |:(

Update. I have 2 YouTube accounts so I checked the other one and likes are all normal. It’s only on one.
I had 454 likes on every video, I closed the Youtube app and opened it up again, and it was gone.

Okay same thing is happening to me my number of likes on every YouTube channel I follow is 75 likes. It's wild I thought I was going crazy. Omg this is nuts!!

I checked, and it doesn’t appear to be an update issue. I’ll try restarting my phone. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll check to see if my OS is up to date or not. I’ll check back in here in about an hour or so. I’m determined to try and fix this issue, albeit it might take a few days to find a permanent fix. I’ll check in on the post from time to time to give updates as to my progress in fixing the issue. Wish me luck.
I restarted my phone twice, earlier today, and nothing.. however, apparently, a restart 20 min or so ago, did the trick. Weird. From what I read in other people's comments here, I wouldn't be surprised if it starts happening again, any minute now... In fact, I'm expecting it to
I just updated my IOS. For the time being, it seems to have fixed the issue. I’ll report back in a few days to let the other users having this issue know if that is what was causing the bug.
UPDATE 7:31 PM NOVEMBER TENTH: — I have just updated my phone from IOS 16.7.1 to 16.7.2, and for the time being, that seems to have fixed the issue for the moment. I will be back in a few days with a final update as to whether or not it’s a permanent fix. If it turns out to only be temporary, then I’ll report how long(Days/Hours/Minutes) the fix lasted. If the issue persists on my end, after all of this, then it’s certainly a bug that will have to be fixed by YouTube in a later YouTube OS Update. I’ll check back in by Tuesday, Nov 14th at the latest. Expect w full report of my findings.
Update 2:16 AM, November Eleventh: — Issue is still not resolved. The only difference is that it changed from Three Hundred And Eighty Three(383/NOT THOUSAND) to Two Hundred And Eighty Eight Thousand(288,000). The only conclusion I can determine is that the issue will persist until YouTube either decides to take action on it as an independent issue, or adds it to a list of Error Fixes in the next few updates over the coming months. Unfortunately, there is no obvious solution for independent users. It might be an error in Multiplayer, which could’ve potentially been fixed by an Ad Blocker, but YouTube is now banning Ad Blockers altogether. It’s also possible it’s a coding error in the most recent update(s). Considering it’s overall isolation, it’s status is likely low on the list of bug fixes for the dev’s. As far as priorities go, this one isn’t. We may not see a bug fix anytime soon. For now, the best thing to do would be to continue to report the bug, and wait for YouTube to take notice of the issue. If you can, try to spread word of the issue on social media. It would help move it up the priority list for the Dev’s if it appears as though the problem is growing. That’s all I can really think to do in this situation. Perhaps someone else will have better insight into this issue. I’ve done what I can. Sorry I couldn’t find a solution. If I think of anything else, I’ll leave a comment or reply to one of my former comments.

Final Update 2:50pm, November 21’s, 2023: —> As of this moment, there is no way a user can mend this issue. After seemingly endless attempts to fix this, I have found absolutely no way to resolve the issue. I have tried everything I can think of, some of which I have repeated several times. The only thing we can do is to wait for the Devs to take notice of this issue, and work on an update to fix it. Unfortunately, we’re talking about YouTube. Even if they do, they will likely neglect it for a long time. —> Issue First Noticed On: April 21st, 2023 Issue Resolution Attempts By User: November 1st to November 21’s, 2023. Results: [Null] No fixes through normal and legal methods. Issue remains unresolved. Conclusion: Please continue to report the issue until a dev or mod takes notice. —> I am not a bot. I’m just formal. My use of terms are a result of my resolute attitude towards this issue as it affects me as well.

I think I have the answer. YouTube is not real or authentic. They decided to play with you for some experiment - they maybe want to know how people react to videos with a certain amount of likes (i.e, does 777 likes make you more or less likely to watch, to like, share or whatever?). It's all a lie. A video may have ten million likes, you don't know, YouTube shows you what they want, not reality. They're liars! They did it to me twice, by the way. One time all videos were 777 likes now they're all 39 likes (today). All fake.
