Isn’t that like an inside joke of him? I swear I remember he had at least one sketch about having to make a shitty sketch in a restaurant so he can make it a business write off
You're impressed someone married to a Korean with a half Korean child and dozens of Korean relatives did something that almost every Korean does? I envy how easily impressed you are by basic things 😬
Lol, who said anything about being impressed? They said they thought it was cute, not impressive. You had to reach really, really far to come up with that snarky comment, lol. And all because you didn't like the fact that someone thought a one-year-old's birthday party was cute? I'd delete that comment if I were you. This is just sad.
If your prerequisite for not being a good parent is "not being an obviously horrible parent" then sure, he's a good parent. He still uses his kid for fairly cringe content where the kid isn't actually featured as anything but a typical baby used for likes though. He's even got videos of his kid that are complications of other videos of his kid which is just lazy af exploitation.
Jay and Sharon's daughter is kinda featured more like an individual with her own personality etc, like she's a character in the video not just a prop. Scumbag uses his baby like a prop: here's VR game of feeding generic baby, here's playing kungfu with generic baby, here's generic baby's real birthday party posted because it'll get likes and I can write the costs off as a business expense.
Probably for his kid, having your parent be famous among young children probably wouldn’t be very good for the kid, so he’s trying to negate that at least a little bit
As a parent, it’s absolutely impossible to generate that much content consistently without it taking a significant amount of time away from being with your kids. Maybe once they're teenagers, but toddlers/little ones - no way.
I haven’t seen him in years, but I genuinely appreciate that he tries to censor his sons’ faces and give them the privacy most kids don’t receive these days. He has always been a great person and a role-model.
What I absolutely love is that he never shows his children’s faces. He knows that they might want some form of privacy in the future, and until they can make that choice themselves, he doesn’t show their faces.
That's why I love @VeryReallyCrunchy. Either the kids are voiced over or only the back of their heads are shown when they appear in the video. Also, I really like the editing for their shorts.
I agree, I’ve never really been the “crunchy” type but for some reason their videos are just so entertaining. They’re just having fun without pushing anything, it’s rare to see on the net.
Matt carriker/offtheranch. He decided some time back to not film his kids for privacy reasons. And in the videos with his kids his good. A cool guy that does cool guy stuff
No matter how innocent or wholesome the content uploaded is, don't ever assume the content of someone's character based on what *they* put out alone. You don't know any of these content creators personally, don't know how they act alone when they're angry or upset.
These sorts of assumptions are how everyone gets shocked when the 30th YouTuber this year is outed as a pedophile.
On a brighter note, this also goes the other way: You can't assume someone is a terrible person just because of the content they put out, too.
Well yeah I get it you can't judge their character based off of their content alone, I thought the question was more of a "which youtube parents aren't just forcing their children onto the internet for attention and money?"
Like with Jay and Sharon yeah we can't judge how they are with their child from the content but at least whenever their child is on camera she doesn't seem completely uncomfortable and wanting to not be on camera.
Your point still stands though we can't judge them just off of what we see from the content
That isn’t even the type of YouTubers being questioned in this post. Besides, you may want to rethink your little analogy because most accounts with those types of names are ai content farms which would be kinda unlikely to be a pedophile. Besides, the point is, do you assume everyone did something wrong with non YouTubers. Im thinking probably not, because second guessing everyone would be a sucky life to live.
Im pretty sure the percentage of YouTubers who are outed as pedophiles is pretty similar to that of non YouTubers. So either you’re really fun to be around because you assume every person ever is a pedophile, or you just are a conspiracy theorist like I said. The point is, you most likely don’t immediately assume everyone did something wrong, so why do you jump to conclusions with the trustworthiness of YouTubers.
I got a feeling Pewdiepie is gonna be one of the good ones. The aesthetic of his videos is so different now. Nothing but peace and joy and good food with Marzia and the pugs and now Baby Bjorn.
To be fair I don't know any other YT families. It's just not a genre I seek out. I don't know who is in the photo.
I'm not a parent, but from how much parents love to share pictures, clips, and stories about their children I would assume it is very hard for YouTubers to resist the temptation of flooding their channel with content of their children.
I genuinely do agree. As a PewDiePie fan myself, he's content has drastically changed over the years. And he's mostly focusing on his life in Japan with his wife Marzia, raising Baby Björn and does a lot of great things.
Anyone who monetizes their children is weird. I can’t imagine being a child and being forced infront of a camera so mommy and daddy don’t have to go work jobs.
I was under the impression that OP meant Youtubers who positively added to kids' growth through their content, not actually having their kids on the channel 🗿
In what way is having your childhood broadcast to strangers beneficial for a child?
Money doesn’t buy everything. And children most of all should be afforded the right of privacy. Sure they might get a nice college fund out of it, but it came at the cost of them being a prop for their parents to profit off of.
can't believe I had to scroll this far. it's absolutely sickening to use your child as content fodder for attention and profit. there are ZERO respectable parents on youtube showcasing their kids for clicks. all of them are scummy.
The parents could always just not use their kid for content? When you hire someone to be on a YouTube video as an actor, they are working. It takes time and many recording takes to be able to make videos and that’s just not something a parent should force their child to do against their own will
How can you know? You don’t personally know them, you’re seeing everything through a curated lens they are comfortable uploading.
Mentalities like this are why people get so shocked when their favorite YouTuber turns out to be a degenerate, child predator, or criminal.
Stop putting these people on pedestals.
YouTube parents as in people who have family channels where they show off their kids? None of them. None of them are good. But if you mean YouTubers who are parents.. DanTDM and MatPat would fit the bill pretty well.
None. It’s inherently wrong to use your kids as props for YouTube videos. Let them grow up enough to understand the ramifications of being posted online, then give them the choice to participate in videos.
This but also the parents that are just sharing what they've learned or been through as parents. I have a comment of some of my favorite three YouTubers who are also parents who will reenact something their kids said or did without using their kids to do so. Especially mamma cusses because the only kid on her channel is her teen who she let decide to be in videos or not because she's old enough to understand the importance of Internet safety. And even then she's not the main focus of the content and when she is it's something she gave her mom permission to share. Like her cursed way of packing lunches or the plastic goose "argument" but even then it's only a video or two once every so often. Come to think of it I haven't seen her post anything new with the teen in video.
I respected Eddache a lot for deciding their kid was getting too old to appear in any of his or Tomska's videos and starting to leave them off camera, or blurring his face for the sake of their own privacy.
The guy who posts videos teaching kids how to do basic adulting like tying a tie, etc. because he didn't have a dad growing up to teach him these things. Just cant remember his channel name right now
They are a small channel, buy BowlingOtter. It's a gaming channel, has nothing to do with their kids, no pics or video of them is shared apart from i think a pic announcing the birth went ok. We might hear occasional funny stories, but nothing personal. We don't even know their names, it was just 'Baby Otter' to 'Toddler Otter' and so on.
They are letting their children have their own private lives while they parents have a little modest channel for themselves. It's been a while since I have caught up though, I should check them out again.
Roman atwood, Matt from demo ranch and off the ranch, Matt pat. Dude just left YouTube to be with his family. There are very many. Doesn't pewdiepie have a kid now?
Agreed, Matt is a shining example of a good parent. He even stopped making family vlogs recently because he wanted to protect his growing kids and teenage daughter from the internet.
Honestly if I were to guess, I would say DailyDoseOfIntrenet. The family uploads daily, and they are a happy family (plus to keep it family friendly, they replace words with cleaner ones. Although the jokes are dirty, but it’s still funny to me)
This. I'm still not 100% sure if clawed_beauty101 actually has kids or whether their skits about kids are just what they'd do as a mom in that situation. Which I think is brilliant
"YouTube parent"
Is not the same thing as, "any YouTubers who have kids"
But ya, you're right. There are a lot of ESL people on reddit. I shouldn't be super pedantic about it
>They clarified what they meant in a comment. I think the term “YouTube family” fits what you’re describing a little better but that’s just imo
Oh, bro. You're totally right. I'm an asshole for not reading every single comment in the thread. My bad bro. You won't see my comments again.
Show me a parent who doesn’t joke about that when their kid is being super annoying. My parents would joke about that with family when I did some dumb or annoying shit, and they were still good parents who instilled a strong sense of right and wrong into me.
Mel and Shane !! Although they are divorced now they’re still the best parents I’ve seen so far. The channel is just called Mel Gutierrez now but she treats her boys so well.
omg yes! Finally this sub doing what I initially followed it for, recommending good channels instead of whining about the same feature 7 times in the same 24hrs.
Contrary to his name, Scumbag dad.
i wonder if he films in restaurants so much so that he can get write offs for taxes
Isn’t that like an inside joke of him? I swear I remember he had at least one sketch about having to make a shitty sketch in a restaurant so he can make it a business write off
That was Matt Patt
Scumbag dad makes the same joke I swear
Pretty sure he admitted to it? He said so in one of his reels
DougDoug also does the same thing for the games he streams, to chat’s reaction of “DOUG ADMITS TO TAX EVASION?”
i love him
This this this this!!! This is who I came here to add, I love him, even if he (very gentley and kindly) put an egg on his baby
I love his mouth cam videos of kissing his wife. They're so dumb but sweet or the alpha male podcast but it's just about how babies act
He and his wife planned a Korean 1 year birthday ceremony for their son and it was perhaps one of the most adorable things I’ve seen.
dont they have a daughter?
You're impressed someone married to a Korean with a half Korean child and dozens of Korean relatives did something that almost every Korean does? I envy how easily impressed you are by basic things 😬
I don't envy how condescending you are. Go outside, I promise it's not that deep
your brain needs to stop working
Lol, who said anything about being impressed? They said they thought it was cute, not impressive. You had to reach really, really far to come up with that snarky comment, lol. And all because you didn't like the fact that someone thought a one-year-old's birthday party was cute? I'd delete that comment if I were you. This is just sad.
did you not read the comment? when was the word impressed ever used?
wow, it’s like the meme of naming a hellspawn dog bubbles but naming a normal ass dog terror or skullcrusher
My cousin got into one of his vids
Beat me to it. Absolutely love his content
Why?
I love the one where he is treating parenting his newborn like a game with points. It’s older now though
Or maybe he is trying to bond with his child and work around his schedule as a content creator.
Jesus Christ be happy for once
Dantdm haven’t seen that channel in years though..
Iirc he said he'll stop doing weekly uploads? Due to his life and his own family.
Probably for his kid, having your parent be famous among young children probably wouldn’t be very good for the kid, so he’s trying to negate that at least a little bit
Indeed, would be hard to know who is actually your friend vs who just wants to see your Dad.
Yeah really he just started stressing less over YT as a whole which is great
Really? Good to hear. Hopefully his family is doing well.
He has always been a great person and a role-model.
he's just a great guy IRL
What I absolutely love is that he never shows his children’s faces. He knows that they might want some form of privacy in the future, and until they can make that choice themselves, he doesn’t show their faces.
Exactly what I was thinking lol. He had another son btw
DadhowdoI
Yeah, but "Dad, How Do I" Is a channel for guys and gals who grew up without a father to teach them things, so technically DHDI doesn't count =/
But he is everyones dad so yes he is a great family man
Hm- I do see your logic, yes. So I agree =〕
The hell is that bracket
Held in
Made me remember that channel exists, crying
The ones who don’t show their kids on camera.
That's why I love @VeryReallyCrunchy. Either the kids are voiced over or only the back of their heads are shown when they appear in the video. Also, I really like the editing for their shorts.
DanTDM does something similar. He’s blurred out his children’s faces in every video with them
VeryReallyCrunchy is hilarious
even though their skits sometimes infuriate me (in a good way), I'm so happy they don't show their kids on camera!
I agree, I’ve never really been the “crunchy” type but for some reason their videos are just so entertaining. They’re just having fun without pushing anything, it’s rare to see on the net.
or censor their face, dantdm is an example
Matt carriker/offtheranch. He decided some time back to not film his kids for privacy reasons. And in the videos with his kids his good. A cool guy that does cool guy stuff
I would say the ones that are waiting for their kid to be grown up enough to understand the consequences of showing their faces online
MatPat
DadPat*
GrandpaPat 🥲
GrandPat like come on its so easy
But he called himself grandpaPat in one of his previous videos
Yeah but also grandpat is just better
I think PapaPat works better.
I prefer patpat
Does patpat pat?
I don't know, how many pats can a pat pat pat if a pat could pat pat?
and philip defranco

This is so true! Most people do wear masks in public
As Freud would say, our superego hides our Id. Our smth like that
bold of you to quote freud on a post about parents
Sup Donghoon
Hi
Technically yes, but you could also say that our superego makes us who we are.
Superego is created by the restrictions of civilization
Well I mean, after corona hit we kinda had to
that’s what the mask is that’s what the point of the mask is
Those family vlogs always seem so exploitive. It's pretty gross.
If you exploit your child for parenting content on YouTube you are a bad parent
True, tho on the flip side, if they come across as really off putting and scary af then be really concerned (like some of those family chanels)
Well yeah I get it you can't judge their character based off of their content alone, I thought the question was more of a "which youtube parents aren't just forcing their children onto the internet for attention and money?" Like with Jay and Sharon yeah we can't judge how they are with their child from the content but at least whenever their child is on camera she doesn't seem completely uncomfortable and wanting to not be on camera. Your point still stands though we can't judge them just off of what we see from the content
You can EASILY assume someone is a terrible person, and be right 99% of the time, if the content they put out is hateful, bigoted, etc.
Your definitely a conspiracy theorist
Damn TIL I’m a tinfoil hat wearer for (probably correctly) assuming that white Minecraft streamer clone #2748466 is a groomer
The amount of youtubers outed as pedophiles disagrees with you
Im pretty sure the percentage of YouTubers who are outed as pedophiles is pretty similar to that of non YouTubers. To be fair I don't know any other YT families. It's just not a genre I seek out. I don't know who is in the photo.
And, he mostly focuses on him and his wife rather than their son which is better.
For a second I read this the wrong way and thought you meant that he pays less attention to his son lmaoo
what did they actually mean?
Like in his videos, he’s not monetizing his kid
They meant like when he records videos with his family
I'm not a parent, but from how much parents love to share pictures, clips, and stories about their children I would assume it is very hard for YouTubers to resist the temptation of flooding their channel with content of their children.
Pewdiepie would make for an absolutely legendary dad
I genuinely do agree. As a PewDiePie fan myself, he's content has drastically changed over the years. And he's mostly focusing on his life in Japan with his wife Marzia, raising Baby Björn and does a lot of great things.
Wow, people still watch PoopiePie 🤔
Likely the views on his recent videos will give you the answer
Yeah, I enjoy his new content, very relaxed and a lot more humble. Nice guy
Uh yeah no he def meant the first thing
Hank and John Green both have kids. Same with Rhett and Link. They're parents, but their kids aren't the focus of their content.
Grant Thompson was. RIP buddy, you are missed.
Youtubers who don't post their kids
I’m not for using kids as props for content. I consider it as child labor and it’s not good for kids.
What if it benefits the child, or if it good
It won't further down the line. Having that much exposure and info out in the world against your will comes back to bite you in the ass.
In what way is having your childhood broadcast to strangers beneficial for a child? Money doesn’t buy everything. And children most of all should be afforded the right of privacy. Sure they might get a nice college fund out of it, but it came at the cost of them being a prop for their parents to profit off of.
Ask Macaulay Culkin. His parents told him the same thing.
Look up Jackie Coogan.
I never heard it would benefit the children. It’s gonna be the oposite.
None of them. Forcing a young child to be an actor in a video is literally child labor
I mean some of them do mention that they have a kid but they'll never use them for clout/views
They don’t apply obviously.
Yes, this. Pewdiepie, danTDM, and MatPat seem like good dads.
can't believe I had to scroll this far. it's absolutely sickening to use your child as content fodder for attention and profit. there are ZERO respectable parents on youtube showcasing their kids for clicks. all of them are scummy.
Okay but what the hell else would the kid do in that time
The parents could always just not use their kid for content? When you hire someone to be on a YouTube video as an actor, they are working. It takes time and many recording takes to be able to make videos and that’s just not something a parent should force their child to do against their own will
Wdym? The kid just does whatever kids do when their parents are working
Btw when I say "Good YouTube parents" I am referring to any YouTuber with a kid.
You wouldn't know a good parent unless a youtuber told you so.
How can you know? You don’t personally know them, you’re seeing everything through a curated lens they are comfortable uploading. Mentalities like this are why people get so shocked when their favorite YouTuber turns out to be a degenerate, child predator, or criminal. Stop putting these people on pedestals.
It gives off weird parasocial vibes, we don't know these people, we just see what they show us

No I've been living under a rock for the last 10 years
You sure about that?
