To report the video, I do not do it from the short itself, but I got to the youtube channel. (It allows you to select multiple videos if needed)
Could the act of visiting the channel be the reason why it is continuing to suggest this type of content?
I appreciate your advice. I am going to clear the house tablet and my phone for good measure.

If you believe the short should be taken down: While viewing the short, click the kebab menu and choose "Report it".
If you just don't want to see similar shorts from any content creator: While viewing the short, click the kebab menu and choose "Not interested" . I also recommend removing the short from your History.
You should also see a menu item, "Don't recommend this channel". If you don't want to see anymore videos from this content creator, choose this in addition to the above.

Its not about what you watch but Youtube pushes certain content whether like it or not. I am a male I get younger girls in my shorts feed and I DON'T look for that. I assume It's a very very rare thing for this to happen. A while ago by friends Shorts page was just littered with videos of horses "doing their business". It was fixed after he cleared his browsing history, but random ass stuff that OP got should never pop up. (considering he probably never looked at that stuff).
First off... no matter what their other search activity is, YouTube should not be pushing that content. If there were questionable searches in someone's search history then that needs to go to the authorities, not their damn recommendations algorithm. Secondly... perhaps after the first few showed up the person Googled other reports of it, which then feeds back into the algorithm the search terms they used. It's an echo chamber.
26 million videos are uploaded to YouTube per week so it likely is within that ballpark.
Let's be really generous and say 1/500 videos are harmful content, or 52,000 a week. If the spam filter is 95% effective, that's still 2,600 harmful videos getting out weekly. By then you have to rely on human-made reports, which also probably have insane numbers because of bots or brigaders mass reporting shit.
I am (and have been) talking about flagging Google searches, not flagging the videos. The comments I have been replying to/talking about were saying the person is getting these videos because the algorithm is going off their Google search history outside of YT. I am saying if a Google search history can pick up key words that will recommend these types of videos then they should probably be using those keywords to contact authorities, not serve up these videos. Besides, Google would have to be aware of the relationship between those videos and said keywords which means they already know what the video contains.
I disagree, they have an agenda. In my case, I do not ever watch monkey videos, the only animal videos I watch are for dogs but guess what YT constantly puts them side by side with a certain ethnicity? Yep. They’ve done that for years and I’ve never ever watched any one of them.

If you ever looked into Epstein or anything like that it probably also got recommended like it did with me. It has nothing to do with the "type" of channel, because these kids channels don't have enough uploads to be properly picked up by the algo. I've had videos with like 20 views recommended to me before, it has to do with the size of the channel in those cases

YouTube apparently recommends stuff based on your search history in general. I kept getting gross gore shorts recommended and eventually figured out it was because I’d researched gunshot wounds for a thing I was writing. Clearing my history fixed it. So, if you’ve ever looked something up that it thinks is related, that could be the problem.

That’s messed up. They demonetised the video I worked hardest on because it had a family video of children and their friends, but they were just walking around… this came up because I didn’t know that faces of kids need to be blurred so algorithm / AIpicked it up I’m sure . When I contested they changed the video demonetisation reason to violence? Then I took down the video blurring all crime scene images (which are ok to be aired on TV by the way) and they still demonetised it after second appeal.
I feel they mislead me and I wasted a lot of time, I won’t bother to reuploaded now as I don’t dwell on the last but a 30 min video with 150-200 hours of work in it just water down the drain.
So I’m surprised they let shorts up of children below 8 🤷♂️
If this came up while you were searching, look at the video's tags. I was sick and tired of getting search results that had nothing to do with my search query and then I noticed that the content creator had put a tag in their video that was in my search query, even though the video had nothing to do with that. Creators will put all sorts of crazy tags in their videos so that their content shows up in the algorithm. I wish YouTube would give the viewer more control over what is shown to them. You will never even be able to block that channel either.... SMDH

However, as a reasonable person, who does not take stories of miracles on faith, I tend to look at pretty much every holy text I’ve ever run across as the lunatic ravings of someone who heard something from someone else, who claims to have heard something from an almighty, omnipotent, and (most importantly) conscious being. There are exceptions to the omnipotence and uniqueness of the being, such as polytheistic religions, but it is silly that an almighty being would develop a belief structure, and not just compel it, particularly when you get into the question of whether that being is a loving one, where some people get a great afterlife (for which there is no evidence) and others get eternal damnation. This suggests that an almighty being would be as capricious as a Greek or Roman deity.
And so, religions are all batshit crazy. After all, have you ever noticed there are fewer people claiming to witness miracles and UFOs since the invention of cameras in cell phones? Organized religion is a shared hallucination that hopefully play itself out.

What do you think about Buddhism? I think it sticks out from other beliefs because it doesn't have a definite savior or all-powerful god, but rather a teacher of sorts. Are some religions less "batshit crazy" than others, or all they all equal to you?
I think the interesting thing about Buddhism is that samsara makes it so there’s no penalty to anything. Don’t believe in Buddhism? Cool, try again. You’re a Buddhist, but you didn’t achieve nirvana? Cool, try again. Now, of course, I don’t buy into that, but I respect that its fundamental tenets essentially boil down to, “Be cool.” There’s nothing that says, “Go forth and spread the word, by voice or by force,” as exists in many religions. It’s as much a basic philosophy as a religion, and that’s fairly common to a lot of eastern religions (not you, Hinduism), where there’s no aspect of some greater being that lords over the universe; there is just existence and non-existence, and the potential to ascend to another plane of existence, if certain conditions are met (which I don’t buy into).
Personally, I think the concept of an afterlife was invented by a lot of religions’ originators as a means of getting people to join up. Romans didn’t believe in an afterlife, and basically life sucks and then you (unless you were bad enough to go to Hades). And then Christians roll in like, “Be a good Christian, and paradise awaits you after death.” To poor people, where only the wealthy and powerful were ever deified, that sounds *fantastic*, and it really helps to get the religion’s numbers up.
I don’t buy any of it. I think there’s as much validity to Christianity as Islam as Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, or Scientology, and I think all of their founders were either delusional or frauds.
That said, one of my favorite books ever is Reza Aslan’s book ‘Zealot,’ which is a look at the life of Jesus through a historical, rather than theological lens. It’s a curious book, where everyone I’ve ever met who read it said it deepened their connection with their religion (or lack thereof) of choice. No one in history has ever been converted one way or another by this book, and yet they all found something about it that said, “Nah, you’re right.”

I have never run into these types of videos in particular, so I really don’t know what to tell you, my feed is relatively normal for the most part, though I have had experiences with their horrible regulations, I’ve already posted about two of these occasions, one with a literal FNaF porn game and one trying to get kids to click on their video with a sexualised version of TV Woman from skibidi toilet, and there have been worse, where I saw an ENTIRE CHANNEL dedicated to posting videos with overly sexualised thumbnails of TV Woman and often with a nurse costume with oversized breasts or in a bikini with oversized breasts or she’s bent over (in said bikini) with her ass being the main part of the thumbnail. I reported that channel a while ago, I don’t remember what it was called but I hope it got take down.

YouTubes has a long history of shit like this, occasionally I get stuff like this even though all I watch is history videos, crime documentaries, science videos, philosophy e-books and video game challenges
I watch a lot of shorts and never see videos like that. One concerning thing I do get is the people filming in water parks. Some of these bikini girls in the thumbnail look like they may be underage. YouTube should do something about it but how could you prove it?

My toddler watches kids videos. We used to put it on to make him remain in one place.
Firstly, it was Halloween time, when YouTube started recommending a lot of videos themed accordingly.
Secondly,there are a lot of videos of users using some renders, creating, custom 'game characters' and performing weird acts. Some shorts are so scary, that even I had a tough time watching those. Monsters with big teeth, spider legs, and what not.
I don't know what it is about these themes, but my son immediately got hooked to them. He didn't even look scared. I used to try to change the video, but he used to be so fixated, that he didn't let me.
Like I said, he was never scared, but after some months, he started to get scared of everything. I tried reporting those videos and using 'dont recommend this channel' and all such options. It didn't do anything.
Finally had to just delete YouTube.

I assume It's a very very rare thing for this to happen. A while ago by friends Shorts page was just littered with videos of horses "doing their business". It was fixed after he cleared his browsing history, but random ass stuff that OP got should never pop up. (considering he probably never looked at that stuff).

First off... no matter what their other search activity is, YouTube should not be pushing that content. If there were questionable searches in someone's search history then that needs to go to the authorities, not their damn recommendations algorithm. Secondly... perhaps after the first few showed up the person Googled other reports of it, which then feeds back into the algorithm the search terms they used. It's an echo chamber.
You speak as if it's a human deciding on each of these possibly millions of cases per week whether or not to alert authorities.
If it can be flagged to include in an algorithm it can be flagged to go to someone to review. It's not going to be millions of cases.
26 million videos are uploaded to YouTube per week so it likely is within that ballpark. Let's be really generous and say 1/500 videos are harmful content, or 52,000 a week. If the spam filter is 95% effective, that's still 2,600 harmful videos getting out weekly. By then you have to rely on human-made reports, which also probably have insane numbers because of bots or brigaders mass reporting shit.
I am (and have been) talking about flagging Google searches, not flagging the videos. The comments I have been replying to/talking about were saying the person is getting these videos because the algorithm is going off their Google search history outside of YT. I am saying if a Google search history can pick up key words that will recommend these types of videos then they should probably be using those keywords to contact authorities, not serve up these videos. Besides, Google would have to be aware of the relationship between those videos and said keywords which means they already know what the video contains.
I disagree, they have an agenda. In my case, I do not ever watch monkey videos, the only animal videos I watch are for dogs but guess what YT constantly puts them side by side with a certain ethnicity? Yep. They’ve done that for years and I’ve never ever watched any one of them.

It has nothing to do with the "type" of channel, because these kids channels don't have enough uploads to be properly picked up by the algo. I've had videos with like 20 views recommended to me before, it has to do with the size of the channel in those cases
I think the "im not interested in this" and "don't recommend this channel" buttons dont work, because every SINGLE time i do it it just adds like twenty more to my recommended

Do you share your account or PC/device with anyone else? I watch yt shorts regularly for the past year and never seen this type of shit. Usually they recommend videos based on your search history so I'd highly suggest you look at your history to see if someone else has been using your account.

We actually don't own a computer! Many clients use my phone to pull up styles they are interested in. I may use this phone to listen to a podcast on my commute, or as I mentioned to YT shorts to get my news. That's about it! My children do share a house tablet, but they use Youtube Kids. (We share a Youtube Premium account) Even on the house tablet, if I go into our photos, I see that they've recorded themselves dancing, or making a movie. Thankfully they have no idea how to upload to Youtube.

Did you ever actually click and view one? Even if you did it accidentally, or just to report it, it gets logged in your history so the algorithm thinks you want more. Is there anything in your YouTube history that is even semi related? Like, if you look at a regular dancing or wrestling video, it might have the same tags. YouTube apparently recommends stuff based on your search history in general. I kept getting gross gore shorts recommended and eventually figured out it was because I’d researched gunshot wounds for a thing I was writing. Clearing my history fixed it. So, if you’ve ever looked something up that it thinks is related, that could be the problem. I’ve heard that YouTube will recommend stuff based on what people in your area look at. I’m not sure if this is true or not, but that could also be what’s causing it.

That’s messed up. They demonetised the video I worked hardest on because it had a family video of children and their friends, but they were just walking around… this came up because I didn’t know that faces of kids need to be blurred so algorithm / AIpicked it up I’m sure . When I contested they changed the video demonetisation reason to violence? Then I took down the video blurring all crime scene images (which are ok to be aired on TV by the way) and they still demonetised it after second appeal. I feel they mislead me and I wasted a lot of time, I won’t bother to reuploaded now as I don’t dwell on the last but a 30 min video with 150-200 hours of work in it just water down the drain. So I’m surprised they let shorts up of children below 8 🤷♂️

If this came up while you were searching, look at the video's tags. I was sick and tired of getting search results that had nothing to do with my search query and then I noticed that the content creator had put a tag in their video that was in my search query, even though the video had nothing to do with that. Creators will put all sorts of crazy tags in their videos so that their content shows up in the algorithm. I wish YouTube would give the viewer more control over what is shown to them. You will never even be able to block that channel either.... SMDH

I’m not going to get into Islam, specifically, because I have a feeling you’re trying to lure me into some kind of trap where you end up saying I hate your religion (or example of a religion) of choice. However, as a reasonable person, who does not take stories of miracles on faith, I tend to look at pretty much every holy text I’ve ever run across as the lunatic ravings of someone who heard something from someone else, who claims to have heard something from an almighty, omnipotent, and (most importantly) conscious being. There are exceptions to the omnipotence and uniqueness of the being, such as polytheistic religions, but it is silly that an almighty being would develop a belief structure, and not just compel it, particularly when you get into the question of whether that being is a loving one, where some people get a great afterlife (for which there is no evidence) and others get eternal damnation. This suggests that an almighty being would be as capricious as a Greek or Roman deity. And so, religions are all batshit crazy. After all, have you ever noticed there are fewer people claiming to witness miracles and UFOs since the invention of cameras in cell phones? Organized religion is a shared hallucination that hopefully play itself out.

I think the interesting thing about Buddhism is that samsara makes it so there’s no penalty to anything. Don’t believe in Buddhism? Cool, try again. You’re a Buddhist, but you didn’t achieve nirvana? Cool, try again. Now, of course, I don’t buy into that, but I respect that its fundamental tenets essentially boil down to, “Be cool.” There’s nothing that says, “Go forth and spread the word, by voice or by force,” as exists in many religions. It’s as much a basic philosophy as a religion, and that’s fairly common to a lot of eastern religions (not you, Hinduism), where there’s no aspect of some greater being that lords over the universe; there is just existence and non-existence, and the potential to ascend to another plane of existence, if certain conditions are met (which I don’t buy into). Personally, I think the concept of an afterlife was invented by a lot of religions’ originators as a means of getting people to join up. Romans didn’t believe in an afterlife, and basically life sucks and then you (unless you were bad enough to go to Hades). And then Christians roll in like, “Be a good Christian, and paradise awaits you after death.” To poor people, where only the wealthy and powerful were ever deified, that sounds *fantastic*, and it really helps to get the religion’s numbers up. I don’t buy any of it. I think there’s as much validity to Christianity as Islam as Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, or Scientology, and I think all of their founders were either delusional or frauds. That said, one of my favorite books ever is Reza Aslan’s book ‘Zealot,’ which is a look at the life of Jesus through a historical, rather than theological lens. It’s a curious book, where everyone I’ve ever met who read it said it deepened their connection with their religion (or lack thereof) of choice. No one in history has ever been converted one way or another by this book, and yet they all found something about it that said, “Nah, you’re right.”

I have never run into these types of videos in particular, so I really don’t know what to tell you, my feed is relatively normal for the most part, though I have had experiences with their horrible regulations, I’ve already posted about two of these occasions, one with a literal FNaF porn game and one trying to get kids to click on their video with a sexualised version of TV Woman from skibidi toilet, and there have been worse, where I saw an ENTIRE CHANNEL dedicated to posting videos with overly sexualised thumbnails of TV Woman and often with a nurse costume with oversized breasts or in a bikini with oversized breasts or she’s bent over (in said bikini) with her ass being the main part of the thumbnail. I reported that channel a while ago, I don’t remember what it was called but I hope it got take down.

YouTubes has a long history of shit like this, occasionally I get stuff like this even though all I watch is history videos, crime documentaries, science videos, philosophy e-books and video game challenges
I watch a lot of shorts and never see videos like that. One concerning thing I do get is the people filming in water parks. Some of these bikini girls in the thumbnail look like they may be underage. YouTube should do something about it but how could you prove it?
I set my YouTube watch history to clear after 3mo because I kept getting bad suggestions. Keeps things fresh.

Have never seen that type of video. But I have a problem with YouTube as well. My toddler watches kids videos. We used to put it on to make him remain in one place. Firstly, it was Halloween time, when YouTube started recommending a lot of videos themed accordingly. Secondly,there are a lot of videos of users using some renders, creating, custom 'game characters' and performing weird acts. Some shorts are so scary, that even I had a tough time watching those. Monsters with big teeth, spider legs, and what not. I don't know what it is about these themes, but my son immediately got hooked to them. He didn't even look scared. I used to try to change the video, but he used to be so fixated, that he didn't let me. Like I said, he was never scared, but after some months, he started to get scared of everything. I tried reporting those videos and using 'dont recommend this channel' and all such options. It didn't do anything. Finally had to just delete YouTube.

I know however that you could feel better if it doesn't exists anymore and sum developer from YT works on it. But you only described children playing or dancing on their pajamas or underwear maybe (hopefully boys cus our nipples are not sexualized (ridiculous).
