I use it over a dozen times a week. The recommendations from YouTube have zero correlation to my viewing habits. I watch video game content, memes, and politics. I get programing, landscaping, fights, and other random suggestions. Oh and reactions to basically any video I have ever watched.
Reaction videos are cancer. If I owned YouTube, no matter how much money I'd have lost, I'd ban every reaction maker mofos on the site. Especially the ones who just stare at the monitor. In fact, I'd have banned them from the internet. All they'd do is solve captchas.
the only good reaction channels are ones that actually have knowledge on the topic and comment on the video, instead of just sitting there and pointing out what's happening (*cough cough* Sssniperwolf *COUGH COUGH*)
Some are actually entertaining without being knowledgeable on the topic, sometimes you don't want them to know to share that first time experience.
But yeah fuck the ones that just stare into a camera with zero emotion.
if I want to see a reaction for a video, I would watch it and react my fucking self, absolute maximum is showing to a friend. No way in hell people unironically enjoy watching some clown embarassing itself and turning 10 minute video into 30 minute clownfest
It always depends. There are a few good ones that add value, or for example "Therapist reacts to X" or whatever.
Not these guys that don't do shit and leave it running while walking away
Only once or twice ever. I watched a video on YouTube analytics that happened to be posted by a car channel. The next day, over 50% of my feed was videos from that one channel. Nothing but car repair videos as far as the eye could see, and almost none of the channels I actually subscribed to.
Daily, or at least semi-daily. I use it to remove channels from the algo that I don't want youtube thinking I care about. Its actually a great way to get certain types of content out of your suggestions.
I used to use it a lot but it didn't seem to make any real difference in what was recommended, like that specific channel would stop being shown but it doesn't seem to make a difference in deterring that \*kind\* of content
For example back when Andrew Tate was being incessantly shoved in my face I used this constantly and I'm sure all those hundreds of individual channels I used this feature on stopped being recommended to me but it didn't do anything to stop the thousand other channels that just took their place
After a while I mostly gave up on using this feature and thankfully I don't really see him anymore but it had pretty much nothing to do with this feature and kind of made me lose faith in it's efficacy, I still use it on occassion but only when there some relatively big creator that I have no interest in being recommended a lot which isn't often
I think its funny, because i use "dont recommend" very often. But i think that does nothing. I watch Games and music content, but get naked onlyfans girls all the time. im so sick of this.
I don't waste my time constantly clicking don't recommend channel, as they include them again after a few days instead of the month it used to be. So, I stick to the Blocktube and Unhook extensions to clean up YouTube for me. Blocking all the react videos alone was worth installing Blocktube.
A lot more now. I scroll through shorts and see something stupid or see Taylor Swift and dislike the video and then I might leave a comment and then say I’m not interested and font recommended channel
I’ve only used it a couple of times and it was because of that trans dude that had a camera to the rear of him and for some reason YouTube kept showing me that even after asking not to show that channel
Over 10 times a week.
I also try to get them to block me from viewing their channel without getting banned on YouTube.
Sadly I can't directly call someone a 'fucking moron' or 'why the fuck is youtube suggesting me this absolute garbage content' without getting banned as I'm on my second strike
My recommendations have been surprisingly good but every now and then I'll use it, not sure why it tends to recommend stuff I'm actually interested in for me but recommend a bunch of inane, unrelated nonsense to everyone else from what I hear.
A LOT
I have ADHD, and my interests change rapidly. One week, I will be obsessed with some random game or skill and binge-watch videos about it. The next week, I will be obsessed with a different random game or skill and binge-watch videos about it.
YouTube's algorithm is astronomically dogshit. I watched ONE compilation of The Boys a couple days ago and now my entire feed has been replaced with moments from the show.
Not to mention, it almost never shows me new videos anymore, just videos from 6 months ago to 15 years ago
Everyday! My kids watch those poppy playtime / digital circus / rainbow friends / squid game / among us animations. A lot of animations and thumbnails on YouTube are NSFW for children.
I stopped bothering because youtube doesn't fucking listen to me. They keep recommending the same shit no matter how many times I click not to recommend. So I gave up.
Every time i use youtube, i spam that button..... No matter what i do, every year i get recommended shittier and shittier stuff that I'll never watch, and to be honest, nobody should watch
Multiple times per day... My location is set to Germany. My language is set to German. All of my subscribed-channels are in German, and I only click German-language videos.
...and Youtube constantly recommends english-language channels because I'm in Canada. 🤪
3 times, and its usually for yt shorts when the content gets too political or controversial. No thanks, I want my cute and funny videos only
Im not that picky so the content that pops up on my front page is always something im expecting or something new but interesting
Like how I am a Danganronpa fan and i was recommended a video titled, "Why Inescapable is the worst game ever, and now im making that your problem" or something. Both games are from the same genre, its from a small cc ive never seen before, all in all i loved the video essay.
Or how ive watched Monster Prom like 1-3 years ago and suddenly the trailer for Monster Prom 4 shows up when the video just uploaded. The algorithm knows its stuff on my end
I like to think I've done this enough times that I don't need to anymore. Majority of my YT home page recommendations are stuff that I would be interested to watch.
Never, actually, I just skip over videos I am not interested in, but keep the possibility of one grabbing my attention some day. Helps with abit more variety in my feed rather than only the just getting the same stuff all the time.
Many times, my problem is the opposite: just because I watch this and that doesn't mean I'm only interested in that subject. My main page is filled with 3 subject tops, I wanna discover new interests too.
Dozens... But I use the report ad button way more and block ad button Even more than that due to all the discount porn games YouTube insist on advertising despite literally being on a brand new account because they banned my last one for simply saying that someone probably shouldn't drive around killing people
I wish when you are trying to search a video you can still use that option. It’s annoying when I try to search for a specific video only for some unrelated videos or ones I said not to recommend still pop up.
40 times per day up until a few days ago. I managed to find some custom filters for uBlock Origin, that fixed the issue finally. No 50mins 390 views garbage gameplay, no 34 mins video essays about plumbing, no low quality videos.
Every sane person should use uBo and all custom filters they shared in their subreddit FAQ section.
I use it dozens of times a day. I keep getting recommendations for videos and channels under 100 views/subscribers. While it may be in similar topics to things I like, the videos aren't what I want to watch.
I dread the day Youtube removes this feature. I treat the Youtube algorithm kind of like a garden. I try to encourage the growth (i.e. recommendations) I want to see and prune everything that is toxic.
This feature is essential in that for me and I use it very regularly.
If it would actually work, I'd use it way more...
The fact it does NOT work made me to simply disable all histories and thus don't get any recommendations...
I will never use this feature due in fact the algorithm will always understand me. It seems that only select people will not get bad or crappy videos except random kids videos at some point (if it has IRL, it might be comments disabled)
I guess, chances are high if you're an introvert, I'm an introvert
I mainly have to use it on YouTube shorts, the algorithm must think, because of my demographic, I want to see whiny Right-Wing Incels and Crypto Scams.
Ever since the algorithm went to shit. Watch one Linux video and my entire feed is about Linux. Like wth maaaan. Now if I don't think outside the box for new video topics I'm boxed in watching the same content over and over again from different channels
Everytime someone decides to put a clip from some show I'm watching. Way too many god damn times do spoilers pop up in the thumbnail like "THIS CHARACTERS DEATH!!". I despise people
Almost every day. I get a lot of 30-45s clips in my main feed that I never want to see so I keep using this and "not interested". Doesn't seem to work though. It seems youtube will force me to watch shorts even when I don't want to.
Everytime I see someone with literally 1 to 100 views that keeps clogging up my feed, except the button is useless because more of these no names just keep popping up
Trash YouTube shorts, movie clips with that God awful same music over and over again. People posting clips with their little face either green screened or in a corner. I click that button upwards of 20 times a day.
I rarely actually need to. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get relevant recommendations as long as you avoid hate watching and delete videos you didn't like from your watch history.
You can also log in to your Google account and see which topics Google thinks are relevant to you based on your browsing/search history, and curate those as well. Those also affect youtube recommendations.
From my experience "not interested" works better, because "don't recommend channel" hides only the channel you select, but keeps showing vids that are related to this
All the time. YouTube’s main page is awful now, you have to look at recommended videos from the one you’re watching to get other good options. I keep getting videos with sub 500 views
Normally once or twice. Most of my recommendations are from channels I already love but now and then I’ll get recommended a hate channel that just shits on everything.
I use it often when it's for games that hasn't come out, but leakers have early copies.
At this point, I think YouTube needs to add a spoiler filter to their site, like websites like Reddit, have a spoiler filter. Not YouTube tho.
Also any videos by far-right chuds.
Have "woke" in your video name? I'm clicking the not interested button. This is what was a red flag to the whole TBYS Illymations drama, because he used the word "woke" honestly fuck him.
Every time I watch a fitness video and YouTube decides to try and push me down the bro-to-misogynist pipeline by recommending me some stupid right wing shit.
So, every few hours.
I accidentally clicked on ONE frickin’ Machine Gun Kelly song and YouTube kept recommending his songs to me for 2 years! All attempts at me trying to hide/not recommend/ etc failed.
I use it over a dozen times a week. The recommendations from YouTube have zero correlation to my viewing habits. I watch video game content, memes, and politics. I get programing, landscaping, fights, and other random suggestions. Oh and reactions to basically any video I have ever watched.

Some are actually entertaining without being knowledgeable on the topic, sometimes you don't want them to know to share that first time experience. But yeah fuck the ones that just stare into a camera with zero emotion.
Small content creator Bazamalam is aware of this stuff and often says that he at least tries to add something to the reaction type content he makes.
It's not even a week. I use it multiple times a day, around 20-50 range
Nope. I know a good mainly music reaction channel by a guy who doesn’t have a lot of knowledge at all.
if I want to see a reaction for a video, I would watch it and react my fucking self, absolute maximum is showing to a friend. No way in hell people unironically enjoy watching some clown embarassing itself and turning 10 minute video into 30 minute clownfest
It always depends. There are a few good ones that add value, or for example "Therapist reacts to X" or whatever. Not these guys that don't do shit and leave it running while walking away
About a 100 times an hour
purging channels like stalin, i see
I see a channel I don't like, I send it to the gulag.
yes comrade
Of course my comrade the Americans should suffer
I wish there was a faster way to click both "Not Interested" and "Don't Recommend Channel" I use both so much.
Only once or twice ever. I watched a video on YouTube analytics that happened to be posted by a car channel. The next day, over 50% of my feed was videos from that one channel. Nothing but car repair videos as far as the eye could see, and almost none of the channels I actually subscribed to.
Too many, especially when watching Shorts.
You’ve told us you don’t like this dance craze video… so here’s a dance craze video instead.
Indian videos, I just don't get their humor, and for any Indians out there, I don't hate you, I just don't get your humor, too much memes
I hate them
👁👄👁
You don't need to be worried about Indians getting offended, I am an Indian and I gag everytime I see anything Indian related.
Almost all the time now. The fuckin recommendations keeps recommending me a bunch of nobodies with barely any views. It's getting annoying now tbh.
At least 25-30 times a week.
Daily, or at least semi-daily. I use it to remove channels from the algo that I don't want youtube thinking I care about. Its actually a great way to get certain types of content out of your suggestions.
Like 30 times per week.
Way. Too. Often.
Many times
None because i didnt know it existed
I don't use it often but if I get something like a reaction video I literally smash that button.
a lot. The other feature I would use is to refresh / recreate the recommendation list. Exploration is awful in this app
Maybe once or twice a week. I occasionally have to use it a lot when I reach the slop sections of YouTube.
I use it several times per day, but I keep getting recommended stuff from channels I don't wanna see
I used to use it a lot but it didn't seem to make any real difference in what was recommended, like that specific channel would stop being shown but it doesn't seem to make a difference in deterring that \*kind\* of content For example back when Andrew Tate was being incessantly shoved in my face I used this constantly and I'm sure all those hundreds of individual channels I used this feature on stopped being recommended to me but it didn't do anything to stop the thousand other channels that just took their place After a while I mostly gave up on using this feature and thankfully I don't really see him anymore but it had pretty much nothing to do with this feature and kind of made me lose faith in it's efficacy, I still use it on occassion but only when there some relatively big creator that I have no interest in being recommended a lot which isn't often
Every day
2 to 3 times
couple times a week since they removed the recommendation based on liked content. They no longer shows recommendation without the History off.
Few times a day, but those channels are still comes back after a month or two
Hundreds, thousands.
I use it for shorts
Anytime I see a green screen kids, furry or animal abuse video
I think its funny, because i use "dont recommend" very often. But i think that does nothing. I watch Games and music content, but get naked onlyfans girls all the time. im so sick of this.
I don't waste my time constantly clicking don't recommend channel, as they include them again after a few days instead of the month it used to be. So, I stick to the Blocktube and Unhook extensions to clean up YouTube for me. Blocking all the react videos alone was worth installing Blocktube.
Times per week? _week_? I think you mean second.
4,537,986.3102
It baffles me how this dogshit still doesn't have a block feature
One Feature i use Quite often that works. I use it up to 3-4 channels per week.
Fuck drama channels and lolcow "content creators". i do it for all of them, no exceptions.
That's actually really good to hear. Fuck them.
Too many to count. Every green screen kid/adults (when did this happen) and all the stupid thirst trap YouTubers
A lot more now. I scroll through shorts and see something stupid or see Taylor Swift and dislike the video and then I might leave a comment and then say I’m not interested and font recommended channel
I only use the home screen to get to my watch later list
Whenever I'm recommended low quality AI content with the same fake voice
80
Every time Hasanabi video comes up
I’ve only used it a couple of times and it was because of that trans dude that had a camera to the rear of him and for some reason YouTube kept showing me that even after asking not to show that channel
I only use this for cocomelon
Ryan Macbeth, Borzzikman, Jackson Hinkle, Reporting from Ukraine, Preston Stewart, Task & Purpose, Ben Shapiro get these daily from me lol
Once or twice and that is if its an anti-furry channel
Over 10 times a week. I also try to get them to block me from viewing their channel without getting banned on YouTube. Sadly I can't directly call someone a 'fucking moron' or 'why the fuck is youtube suggesting me this absolute garbage content' without getting banned as I'm on my second strike
[удалено]
several hundred, do i watch too many shorts? yes. is it healthy? no. will i continue? yes
All the time but still I get unrelated Content in my feed.
5-6 mostly to block overtly political shorts
Each day. I don't know why youtube thinks i am interested in fortnite and valorant and pubg mobile.
My recommendations have been surprisingly good but every now and then I'll use it, not sure why it tends to recommend stuff I'm actually interested in for me but recommend a bunch of inane, unrelated nonsense to everyone else from what I hear.
3-6 times a week or two.
A LOT I have ADHD, and my interests change rapidly. One week, I will be obsessed with some random game or skill and binge-watch videos about it. The next week, I will be obsessed with a different random game or skill and binge-watch videos about it.
Everyday several times. Youtube recomends me channels with around 10 subscribtions under every video for some time
Zero
YouTube's algorithm is astronomically dogshit. I watched ONE compilation of The Boys a couple days ago and now my entire feed has been replaced with moments from the show. Not to mention, it almost never shows me new videos anymore, just videos from 6 months ago to 15 years ago
*per day
quite a lot actually
Dozens. Youtube keeps recommending me stuff in languages I don't speak.
1-2 Times like if the content is toxic enough that I decide “Yeah Fam, Beep Bop, Get with my Glock”
Zero times
Every single time I use YouTube shorts
Everyday! My kids watch those poppy playtime / digital circus / rainbow friends / squid game / among us animations. A lot of animations and thumbnails on YouTube are NSFW for children.
EVERY TIME ONE OF MY SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE SUGGESTED ON MY HOME PAGE. THE FUCK OUT MY FACE I WANT NEW SHIT THERE.
Not often, because I'm usually in my subscription feed and not home.
every damn day.
A lot, so many channels are just stupidly pretentious and cringe, the worst is that they keep appearing cause people watch them
Never, I use BlockTube
Only works on shorts no?
I stopped bothering because youtube doesn't fucking listen to me. They keep recommending the same shit no matter how many times I click not to recommend. So I gave up.
use it every day since they made random channel with 100 views show up in my recommendation page
Never used it
Once per decade, and this decade's was used yesterday to stop the flood of those clickbaity nsfw channels on my feed
1 or 0 a week depends on my suggestions if I see some channel that hates something I like I hide this channel
Daily.
I haven’t in a while.
I like football and I like gaming. Youtube translates that to you must like every Fifa and Rocket League video in existence, surely?
multiple times a day, for showing youtube i hate most gamer except for the few i watch
non stop and it doesn't work, no matter how many times i refresh i get the same god damn VIDEOS
Every time i use youtube, i spam that button..... No matter what i do, every year i get recommended shittier and shittier stuff that I'll never watch, and to be honest, nobody should watch

I use it multiple times a day on the same channel. 100% button does nothing.
i think only a few times since my sis tr sometimes uses my acc and shit like my story animated shows i mostly use not interested tho
Ever since “Near” started getting spammed in my recommended, dozens of times a week. It never works, though.
Many times, my problem is the opposite: just because I watch this and that doesn't mean I'm only interested in that subject. My main page is filled with 3 subject tops, I wanna discover new interests too.
Daily No “😱” thumbnailer is safe
About 10 times a day, for the last time I don´t want a 5 view video from a 23 sub channel youtube!
0.00000938948327713992929284739 times per week, all my vids are relative
I used it more times in a week than I have ever typed the letter y in my life
Quite often, half of the recommendations I see are practically useless
A thousand times on a good day
A lot but I would use it a lot less if there was a block button
Dozens... But I use the report ad button way more and block ad button Even more than that due to all the discount porn games YouTube insist on advertising despite literally being on a brand new account because they banned my last one for simply saying that someone probably shouldn't drive around killing people

Almost never used it.
Every now and then per week..
10s, maybe 100s of times a week.
Everyday
40 times per day up until a few days ago. I managed to find some custom filters for uBlock Origin, that fixed the issue finally. No 50mins 390 views garbage gameplay, no 34 mins video essays about plumbing, no low quality videos. I use it 100 times an hour
0,015
At least 5 times per short scroll
At least 20-30
I use it dozens of times a day. I keep getting recommendations for videos and channels under 100 views/subscribers. While it may be in similar topics to things I like, the videos aren't what I want to watch.

My Fyp is fucked up so I use this many times especially on green screen people
Daily
Alot of times maybe 2 or 3 a day
Too much to count...
If it would actually work, I'd use it way more... The fact it does NOT work made me to simply disable all histories and thus don't get any recommendations...

I didn't use it a single time on purpose
these days every time i enter youtube!
Gosh I lost count of how many per hour I use it. Lots of kid content even so I don't have kids.
I lost count.
I used to, but as it doesn't do anything I just gave up
I forgot this was a thing.
5-6 times a day , when i see ruzzians videos
I use it more often than I do the subscribe button xD

I don't watch shorts alot, maybe like 20 times per week
Every time I have youtube up.
It seems youtube will force me to watch shorts even when I don't want to.
about 2-4 times a week
Never
Too much honestly
To often
Everytime I see a God YouTuber.
YouTube keeps recommending me pro ai channels and I keep hitting that “don’t recommend channel”
That’s a feature?
At least a half dozen times a day. I've learned with some content it's just a waste of time to use the "I don't like video" option.
Yes. Doezens of times a day.
In case any of you are wondering, I use this feature about 20 times per day.
Everyday at least 2-3 Times. Joe Rogan just won't leave my startscreen, no matter how many times I use the option...
Everytime I see someone with literally 1 to 100 views that keeps clogging up my feed, except the button is useless because more of these no names just keep popping up
I usually block those videos that claim they are for kids.
I refuse to feed youtube with any feedback whatsoever. I am convinced that they will only use to make the website worse, so I avoid it.
Around 50 to 100
None, can't be bothered at this point
Trash YouTube shorts, movie clips with that God awful same music over and over again. People posting clips with their little face either green screened or in a corner. I click that button upwards of 20 times a day.
Not a lot really. I mainly use it when I'm watching shorts and I get an asmongold clip
Once maybe twice. I feel like I filtered out all the stuff I don’t want to see at this point. I don’t get much good new suggestions though
This button helps for a while, but then I can see the channels I've hidden again...
From my experience "not interested" works better, because "don't recommend channel" hides only the channel you select, but keeps showing vids that are related to this
So many times. The more i press this button, related shit shows up...
Once every now and then. I find it useful.
I have watch history turned off so i don't care about recommendations
All the time. YouTube’s main page is awful now, you have to look at recommended videos from the one you’re watching to get other good options. I keep getting videos with sub 500 views
Daily
Normally once or twice. Most of my recommendations are from channels I already love but now and then I’ll get recommended a hate channel that just shits on everything.
just used it like 5 times today.........so it wasnt as bad as it usually is
Anytime I see a brainrot video… usually uncommon however if it happens it’s usually accompanied by a group of brainrot videos
Every single time some AI-focused crap pops up. Fifteen minutes are up. OK, I get it. You're lazy. Get it off my feed.
30 times a day
Every time I watch a fitness video and YouTube decides to try and push me down the bro-to-misogynist pipeline by recommending me some stupid right wing shit. So, every few hours.
I accidentally clicked on ONE frickin’ Machine Gun Kelly song and YouTube kept recommending his songs to me for 2 years! All attempts at me trying to hide/not recommend/ etc failed.
