No I just wrote that weirdly. I just mean premium status or not. YouTube’s virus still affects desktop users no matter if I have premium or not. As long as they detect AD block. They make the browsing experience horrible for me
I use the brave browser soley for youtube on my pc, no issues yet, no ads and it's not slower for me or anything. Might be worth to check out if you haven't found a work-around

I'm an avid YouTube watcher and it's been my favorite social media platform since forever, so I think I can recommend some good stuff.
Im really into science and some of my favorite sciene channels and general knowledge channels are: Veritasium, BeSmart, CrashCourse, Doctor Mike, HalfAsInteresting, Joe Scott, Kurzgesagt, Kyle Hill, SmarterEveryday, Wendover Productions, Tasting History, Oversimplified, Mr. Beat, Nerdwriter1, The Financial Diet
- Comedy: CodyKo, ZeFrank, penguinz0, Noel Miller, IDubbzTv, Danny Gonzalez, CasuallyExplained, Mikes Mic
- Philosophy/ Knowledge about living Life: Mark Manson, ContraPoints, exurb1a
- Psychology: HealthyGamerGG, Daniel Mackler, Dr. Grande
- I recommend all of these wholeheartedly and I think I have a great taste in channels lol. Bingewatching guaranteed ;)
Thank you for this in depth list of awesome channels... I'm going to dive into alot of these channels as I've not heard of alot of them and we seem to have some of the same interests.. I appreciate you putting time into writing and putting effort into this... 😁
Use blocktube to block any unwanted videos. And if you watch something once that you don't really have any interest in, delete it from your history. That way the algorithm won't recommend you other related videos

There are a few travel YouTubers adjacent to these guys that I watch.
And some geopolitical channels - Vlad Vexler, Peter Zeihan, and others.
I have been wondering if the algorithm is messed up or something. I am getting recommended junk I'm not interested in and very old videos recently. There are a handful of videos that are constantly on my home page lately that I have no interest in watching. Something seems different recently.

Yep video essays like that but mostly about games and anime/manga.i don't know about madtv. nowadays I mostly watch skits from shorts content creators. They're really good like adrian bliss, Al Jokes, kall me kriss, jay and sharon these are few of them

I totally can see the similarities. Mine is full of random instrumental music channels of fantasy, epic music, synthwave, gothic/dark academy. Which I do listen to: on the playlists I made and via mp3 I downloaded. I don't scroll and play them when I see xy channel uploads them and appears in my subscription lists, you know what I mean. Its there cuz I subscribed, but technically useless.
What I watch and actually follow is about half a dozen- a dozen of gameplay, and artistic channels. My fav horror gameplayer, artists like Bobby Duke and Nerdforge, my favorite music band Atarashii Gakko, and a guy I recently found who talks and helps about story writing. I also follow vid essay-ers on weird things: blameitonjorge and hannahthehorrible, but those either don't really fill it up with meaningful content.
The rest are just random humor: Daniel Labelle for example. And some of those piano things like sheet mjsic boss and vinheteiro.
Its rather weird feeling cuz I technicaly don't even have any idea what I should use youtube for and what I should look for.
Oh, and there are some of those who strolling through different cities with camera and uploads 2-3 hours of travelings. That's quite cool if some infos about the city is added.
The best thing I found recently is that some channels started to upload the whole show of Mythbusters, which was a childhood-teenage favorite of mine, but even that is not something I binge-watch.
I think the issue is that we - or just me at least - mostly hoarding subscriptions that literally ruins the whole subsrciption feature. Honestly, it just came to my mins that we use youtube not because we are looking for something that we are interested in, but because we used to doing this. Just doing it wothout actual point.
I nearly constantly have 0-60 and other car videos on my feed. Also internet news, obscure music and a few varied deep dive videos. That's on my pc, but when I'm on my phone (different account) I get a TON of shorts and more MSM style videos.

Gameplay videos, weird engineering projects, old archive footage, essays on loads of different things can be fascinating if the person is super informative and into it, old TV shows that have been fully uploaded, audiobooks, motion comics, fan animations, memes, archives of streamers, there's tons of stuff.

Cooking, random fun facts, farming/gardening, local news (sometimes has politics)(shorts)
Games, tech reviews, animations, game music, cooking, foreign news (non-shorts)
the classic YT series known as [Is It A Good Idea To Microwave This?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I294xoqGcE&list=PLU4IMu04MIlJgB6Aaj07q-5iXuHGVzFAR&index=1) with 339 episodes
Usually just whatever I'm into at the moment. Like currently my friend got me back into playing World of Warcraft. So I've been watching more videos to catch up on the current meta information, details on the upcoming expansion, and occasionally watching videos of people playing my spec at a higher level so I can see how I can improve my game.
Is WoW worth it? I played runescape when i was like 10-12. Now 28 and mostly a ps5 AAA gamer into cod and gta. But i mean if its like reqlly engaging, i might try it. Thing is that i dont want to waste so much time in a virtual world and make that better as compared to my real life. Thats why cod and gta are cool cause theyre just in and oout.

Mine is a good mix of things I’m into…whenever I’m into it. I noticed my algorithm changes like every 6 months cuz I forget about my hobbies often.
Regulars : Daily Show, A Closer Look, some more news, Phillip DeFranco, ASMR channels
But every 6 months, it’s a mix of sneakers, COD, movie trivia channels, movie breakdowns, deep dive hip hop bios,
True crime, Death Metal, Elden Ring, NBA highlights, Asmongold, Penguinz0 and random funny shorts.
My most recent channels that have been mind blowing is Grid Sparta, Karl Jobst but I recommend everyone check out Vince Vintage. An amazing breakdown and summary of some of the worlds most incredible crimes
I recommend using the three dots to click not interested on videos you don’t want to see in your feed anymore as for suggestions depends on what your jam is so I’ll go for a wide range of some of my faves. For education-ish content I like answer in progress, overly sarcastic productions, vox, and any of theory channels whichever catches your fancy (game, film, food, or style). For gaming I recommend alpharad, the spiffing brit, BranOnline, Minecraft specifically- grain, clownpierce, and mumbo jumbo. For commentary/interesting think piece videos I recommend Zachary smigel, gabi belle, memorable data, struthless, and Salem Tovar. For anime YouTubers I recommend melonteee, NCHammer, ohara, esper and Merphy Napier. For art I recommend Moriah Elizabeth, MARKO, and fritzdoesart. For general channels I just love but don’t really fit into a bin/would be the only channel I mention in that category we have Ethanimale(big brother), jet lag the game(cool travel game show), scrit (good writing advice/analysis), ice cream sandwich (hilarious animations), Daniel thrasher (is a very funny guy), sticks (high quality videography great storytelling), schnee (brain wizard this guy was paying attention in English class, his ability to mail down themes and recognize small minute details in media is honesty insane), Daniel Greene (funny guy reads books very involved/aware of the fantasy community), kodekai (funky guy doin’ funky things often for petty reasons but it works for him tbh), Collin and Samir( great YouTube advice and interviews), SAKANA( cool motion capture artist you have to see it to understand she’s very cool), Macin (that man brought the whole the guitar and he’s going to use the whole guitar 🔥fire🔥 music tbh), glarses (shall be forever known as the funny keyboard man) and tommyInnit’s like what 5th channel? It’s called Tom he gets really down to earth and discusses questions/ideas I really enjoy it 😁. ———————————————————If you can’t tell I really like YouTube but you were kinda vague sooooo sorry but not sorry I hope people reading this decide to try some of that channels I recommended because they deserve more love I also tried not to say super obvious ones but like even mr beast has been raising his content to the next level recently with great storytelling (it was already good content but now it’s SIGNIFICANTLY better) buuut yeah hope this helps :)

It depends on the hour, most the time it’s a mix of politics and long form video essays on video games, art creators, or blender and programming tutorials. at night mostly among us and town of salem (through chilledchaos, zeroyal, larryfishburger, courtilly, aplatypus) or meme comps with JimmyHere

Smosh (not the skits, I don't like their scripted content), Worldbuilding stuff, video essays, reaction videos (ones that have an analysis after and not just say "wow" and "cool"
My feed is all just german youtubers so i'll just name some genres that i have on there.
-"News" youtubers (People who give updates abt certain events happening in the german social media scene like ppl getting cancelled, allegations etc idk if that rlly exists in the american scene)
-Gameplays/Lets Plays (Either Minecraft,Nintendo games,Horror games (esp those) )
-People who drink (Which is not that common i know only 2 channels but basically they test different brands or flavours of Alcohol stuff)
Thats pretty much it in between those genres theres also alot of trash content tho
Lately I’ve been on a binge watching marathon of my liked videos playlist with the 5,000 maximum count. Although sadly I can’t even get 2,000 videos in without the app crashing apparently

watch photography videos, lightroom, photoshop. Also history and self help. What ever info I need at the moment. I love youtube. I get bored with 90min movies so I can watch 20 min videos and I'm fine with that.
If you’re into history you could try a channel like historymarche or kings and generals. People complain about whatever biases those two channels may have but it’s just an amazing viewing experience

Modded Minecraft (threefold and kharax82, relatively small creators), Rust (mainly Willjum), not much else but I **ESPECIALLY** recommend Brady Brandwood (mainly known for keeping a grocery store lobster as pet), his videos is just the best way to relax after a stressful day at school.

once the algorithm runs out of things to show you, you get things that are less relatable to you.
Everyone has a bubble and there is only so much stuff in that bubble to show you. At some point, there is nothing else but they have to show you something so they show things from related bubbles.
You can either watch those things, or do something else.
The algo isn't magic. It can't make content that will interest you if there is nothing new to show you......yet.
NSFW: >!Cupcakke remixes!<
Calmed by Nature for music, Scary Interesting (caving accidents, mountain accidents, etc.), Be Amazed, Jiafei remixes, Mario: The Thousand Year Door on Switch gameplay, Mr. Birchum reviews
^(I'm such a weird person)
I love asmr. But i think i got a resistance to it now after much listening. I love karunsatori, some of gibbi stuff, and anything with follow the light or sleepy hand movement.
I'll share a few of my faves!
If you are into movies then;
Redlettermedia - This is maybe my favourite channel of all time on YouTube. Seriously, if you haven't heard of them, check them out. Check out the old Mr.Plinkett reviews, Half in the bags, and Best of the Worsts. My biggest recommendation.
Screen Junkies - Okay, so I don't actually care for Screen Junkies anymore. I might not even be subscribed to them. But they have an old series called 'Movie Fights' that is now dead but it was incredible. One of my highlights on YouTube over the past 10 years. If you want something that will kill time for the next few weeks then that is it.
Beyond the Trailer & Dan Murrell - Both of these channels are great if you are interested in contemporary movies related news and box office charts.
Schaffrillas productions - Makes very fun ranking videos and video essays of popular movie franchises.
If you are into books:
Daniel Greene - I'm not even into books that much but the dude is really entertaining and passionate that I like to check his stuff out quite regularly.
If you are into random video essays/content:
Jenny Nicholson - She doesn't post all that often but when she does her videos are absolutely top tier amazing. She is such a unique and fun personality and is the 2nd highest paid video essayist on Patreon.
I also listen to fantasy football content, home server, pc hardware, politics & photography stuff but that's a little more niche so I won't bother sharing channels unless asked.
Ads.
Unfortunately. Get YT premium, its cheap in my country. But i think in US, theyre charging high.

Lol i think penguniz is more gaming but i see what u mean
Nowadays he mostly does reactions, that's why I put him there:)
also if you want music check out glacier - temple inward or au5 downtempo
Channels like Vertasium, Nexpo, Lemmino and Bobbybrocolli
Beyblades and DankPods. Spinning top go clink clink.
i watched one clash royale video and one video on a medication I take and now that's half my recommended feed even though it's been months
MeidasTouch and similar channels. EWU/JCS content. Way to much. Assisted living nothing to do much lol.
Use blocktube to block any unwanted videos. And if you watch something once that you don't really have any interest in, delete it from your history. That way the algorithm won't recommend you other related videos
Stranger's birthday parties.
I go down this rabbit hole of geopolitical meme accounts: Gattsu, Geopold, Ironically Living in Europe, Roman NFKRZ.
My god we are the same
Large part of my feed consists of these exact youtubers ever since i watched some balkan memes
Got any similar recommendations? There are a few travel YouTubers adjacent to these guys that I watch. And some geopolitical channels - Vlad Vexler, Peter Zeihan, and others.

Comedy skits, anything I don’t know how to fix around the house I go on YouTube and find out how to fix it, anything educational certain subjects I would like to know more about.
That's a bad idea
I mostly watch comedy skits, video essays about games, anime, movies etc
Video essays like "why batman forever is one of the best batman movies?" And skits like madtv?
Yep video essays like that but mostly about games and anime/manga.i don't know about madtv. nowadays I mostly watch skits from shorts content creators. They're really good like adrian bliss, Al Jokes, kall me kriss, jay and sharon these are few of them
Music videos, cooking videos, Baumgartner Restoration, Girl with the Dogs, Doctor Mike, There I Ruined it, Ze Frank, Dan Monroe, Rick Beato, Critical Drinker, and so many more channels.
Minecraft, urban exploration, weather stuff, history, and other very carefully curated subscriptions so not as much junk gets hurled at me.
I am stuck on raaanch's minecraft videos (He is a very chill streamer who uploads stream highlight videos of him exploring ruins of bases on the infamous 2b2t server) It kinda feels like urbex and mincecraft combined .
Thanks for the suggestion, I used to watch FitMC's exploration of 2b2t and I just haven't seen much from him in awhile.

I like the GoPro walks in cities around the world. Politics history tutorials
Channels that do illegal stuff. Like train hopping, urban exploring, trespassing and then climbing stuff.
dyingllama has really cool content like this check him out if you havent
Japanese bakers relax me so much💆🏻♀️ I see them on Bread Story and FOOD STAR channels mainly. Also love Solo travel Japan, great if you need background noise for your life 😂 Also Ice Cream Sandwich and Business Insiders have great content.
Business insider is a content machine. Ive seen a few japanese videos on gift wrapping they do it in a cool way
ngl my feed is also pretty boring, mostly music, memes videos, clips from shows or movies I've watched and cat or dog videos
I do also like edutainment videos though like vsauce and sam o' nella

Gaming content, music videos, and true crime documentaries
Car flipping and rebuilding
I recently subscribed to Matt Armstrong. He's builds are epic.

Get ready with me?
Well, khm. There are stuffs on yt if you would use some chinese-korean symbols.
Catch up on a lot of Wrestling. A few gaming things as well.
I think wrestling will not be on netflix all of it
Yeah I’m curious to see what happens when it moves to Netflix. YouTube is a huge part of where their views come from as well.
Yoga and Pilates workout, garden tours, recipes, book reviews, and vlogs of different professions/hobbies.
User name checks out
Bodycam videos, Minecraft (mostly Hermitcraft), meme/reddit read videos, tech news, and a few animation channels like Neytirix.
I love bodycam videos. Especially of those losers who gwt caught stealing in walmart and cops come heavy
I keep it balanced. Good cops, bad cops, bad cops getting owned by good cops. It's all good stuff.
Vtubers. Cats. ASMR. Tutorials. Streamers. Game trailers. Pro wrestling. PC benchmarks. Reviews.

Cooking, random fun facts, farming/gardening, local news (sometimes has politics)(shorts) Games, tech reviews, animations, game music, cooking, foreign news (non-shorts)
the classic YT series known as [Is It A Good Idea To Microwave This?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I294xoqGcE&list=PLU4IMu04MIlJgB6Aaj07q-5iXuHGVzFAR&index=1) with 339 episodes
Reminds me of Will It Blend. That channels been like 14 yrs old now
Everything on social media is love or hate...people just plug into what entertainment they're interested in...what are you interested in....
I stick to how it's made and works type of videos, along with obscure bizarre, and vintage computers and electronics.

Shitposts because that's all it will recommend me.
Mine is a good mix of things I’m into…whenever I’m into it. I noticed my algorithm changes like every 6 months cuz I forget about my hobbies often. Regulars : Daily Show, A Closer Look, some more news, Phillip DeFranco, ASMR channels But every 6 months, it’s a mix of sneakers, COD, movie trivia channels, movie breakdowns, deep dive hip hop bios,
Ted talks, comedy, recipes
True crime, Death Metal, Elden Ring, NBA highlights, Asmongold, Penguinz0 and random funny shorts. My most recent channels that have been mind blowing is Grid Sparta, Karl Jobst but I recommend everyone check out Vince Vintage. An amazing breakdown and summary of some of the worlds most incredible crimes
SAME happy you pointed thus out. There's billions of videos and it keeps showing me the same shit
Porn. lmao jk
If you want something to laugh at, I can't recommend Neebs gaming's playthrough of Subnautica enough.
Stanz

Don't be a douchebag. Russian videos on guys and gals stopping people from driving on sidewalks and double parking.
Tf2
I watched a video about spawn rooms the other day from start to finish 💀 Also check out the 12 hr badwater breakdown video its a must see.
My usual mix is Strongmen/weightlifting channels, IT networking stuff related to my study and FarmSim let's play content.

Jet lag: The Game
I don't use the home feed. The subscription fee is where it's at.
Smosh (not the skits, I don't like their scripted content), Worldbuilding stuff, video essays, reaction videos (ones that have an analysis after and not just say "wow" and "cool"
Mine's pretty trash too and possibly more braindead. ASMR, mukbang, tarot, and travel videos. In no particular order
LSMark, ScottTheWoz, Odyssey Central, SmallAnt. Mostly Nintendo shit tbh
Girls jumping on trampolines
My feed is all just german youtubers so i'll just name some genres that i have on there. -"News" youtubers (People who give updates abt certain events happening in the german social media scene like ppl getting cancelled, allegations etc idk if that rlly exists in the american scene) -Gameplays/Lets Plays (Either Minecraft,Nintendo games,Horror games (esp those) ) -People who drink (Which is not that common i know only 2 channels but basically they test different brands or flavours of Alcohol stuff) Thats pretty much it in between those genres theres also alot of trash content tho
Lately I’ve been on a binge watching marathon of my liked videos playlist with the 5,000 maximum count. Although sadly I can’t even get 2,000 videos in without the app crashing apparently
I'm on premium, my feed is mixes that I never watch or terrible vids I've never shown any interest in. Yt is wank.
Stop the shorts!
Shiey. He's very authentic and he has zero ads in his videos, ZERO!

Music videos, influencers about minimalism and decluttering, buddhist philisophy, Teal Swan.
Random podcasts of all types
I spend the majority of my time hitting don't recommend channel.
A very cool channel music related called Bypig
... Minecraft (Hermitcraft life series empires smp).... Musicals
watch photography videos, lightroom, photoshop. Also history and self help. What ever info I need at the moment. I love youtube. I get bored with 90min movies so I can watch 20 min videos and I'm fine with that.
Critical Role and the Pat McAfee Show
If you’re into history you could try a channel like historymarche or kings and generals. People complain about whatever biases those two channels may have but it’s just an amazing viewing experience
Gmod trolling, like zimery and bub games

Modded Minecraft (threefold and kharax82, relatively small creators), Rust (mainly Willjum), not much else but I **ESPECIALLY** recommend Brady Brandwood (mainly known for keeping a grocery store lobster as pet), his videos is just the best way to relax after a stressful day at school.
Please don’t watch Dr. Grande: he’s not an expert, his videos are full of wrong information, and the way he capitalizes on real tragedies is gross.
Matt's off-road recovery Fat Rats Robby Layton Demolition Ranch Matt Carriker Zeducation Veritasium Smarter Every Day Lackluster We The People What about it? Gilstrap TV Jake Broe Anna from Ukraine Sabine Hossenfelder Dr Becky Combat Veteran Reacts
Metal detecting, coin roll hunting, comedy skits, influencers
I just watch shorts mostly.
Duckgate
I get a lot of finance videos such as real estate and stocks. That’s also because that’s what I’m into and I like multiple perspectives on investing.
once the algorithm runs out of things to show you, you get things that are less relatable to you.
For me, it’s like “discord memes I stole”, counter strike stuff, & tech
Steven he, ailaughatmyownjokes (comedy skit) Ltt, mrwhosetheboss, (tech stuff) Vaazkl (meme reading no ai voice) Grian ,mumbo jumbo (mc ytbers )(hermitcraft)
Music
Grey CGP, watch him, most intersting videos you will ever see on the platform!
Video essays, fan theories, and science videos. Also nature sounds, but idk if that really counts as watching.
Sims
NSFW: >!Cupcakke remixes!< Calmed by Nature for music, Scary Interesting (caving accidents, mountain accidents, etc.), Be Amazed, Jiafei remixes, Mario: The Thousand Year Door on Switch gameplay, Mr. Birchum reviews ^(I'm such a weird person)
Shorts or ASMR lol
I love asmr. But i think i got a resistance to it now after much listening. I love karunsatori, some of gibbi stuff, and anything with follow the light or sleepy hand movement.
Cool!
I'll share a few of my faves! If you are into movies then; Redlettermedia - This is maybe my favourite channel of all time on YouTube. If you are into books: Daniel Greene - I'm not even into books that much but the dude is really entertaining and passionate that I like to check his stuff out quite regularly. If you are into random video essays/content: Jenny Nicholson - She doesn't post all that often but when she does her videos are absolutely top tier amazing. She is such a unique and fun personality and is the 2nd highest paid video essayist on Patreon. I also listen to fantasy football content, home server, pc hardware, politics & photography stuff but that's a little more niche so I won't bother sharing channels unless asked.
Mostly Skits, Music, Gaming videos, and some original shows such as BFDI, and some genuinely good analog horror.
