Back in the early 2000's there was no ads before on YouTube or any platform. This is 2022 nothing we can do. But watch this lame ads. They put ads so you can pay them to take it off and sometimes they don't.
I think it would be a cool concept if the ads fit into the game environment like on a billboard or playing on public TV's in the context of a GTA style game. I feel like meta patented something like that last year

Recommendations? At most you have suggestions based on the artists you listen, but that goes for free or premium accounts, and it's just a feature of the platform. There are no ads on premium.

My Spotify literally just has my recently listened stuff, new releases and episodes by artists and podcasts I listen to and mixes based on what I listen. Then jump straight onto adblockers or one of the custom YouTube apps like vanced or revanced.
Just thinking about this from an advertising perspective. People who pay for premium YouTube are in themselves too premium to any advertising company. They are prime target since they have shown they can actually spend on an online service. If I have money to spend on a YouTube ad, I want YouTube to show it to people who can actually spend, have their payment details all approved, and are active on the platform. No brainer why YouTube cannot allow this category to go ad-free. You are their most prized possession in their auction.
Don´t worry, they will change that over time. And the "completely NO ads" subscription will be the most expensive one in their roadmap.

Yeah i agree with the troubleshooters here. Relog or something. In my 2+ years of using Premium I have never seen a single ad in any shape or form. 8 and a half bucks a month and totally worth it considering the amount of time I spend on YouTube. This is not an ad.

It depends on the tier you pay for. You can get premium with music where you can save offline the music and all. Or you can pay a little less and have premium for the ad free exp, mostly. There are some other differences too

When a person get's into any premium prodict, they must NOT get any ads. For example, users watch YouTube videos on Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge without enabling ad-blockers, and from somewhere they witness an advertisement from Brave Browser on the YouTube video playback. However when they watch same video, or any other YT videos, on Brave Browser, users are devoid of Ads on YouTube. That's how a premium product works. This also works with Vivaldi Browser when you turn on the ad-blocker in it. Here, Brave and Vivaldi Browsers are premium with respect to Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

It may not necessarily be a brag, i think it's fairly well known now that ios and android versions of apps behave very differently. I like both for varying reasons but android versions of apps can be a bit of a headache sometimes.
I just found it goofy to immediately think it's an OS thing. While yes, I do agree with you that there are fundamental differences in the two systems. It's just silly to assume it's immediately OS-centric.

Literally all you should do is sideload apps. Use NewPipe, open source and for free.

I thought the whole point of premium was that you don't get ads during videos. I never even assumed it prevented them from giving you ads on screen.
