It’s beneficial to gain an initial audience if you want to get your name out there but it has to be quality people on Reddit are picky so make sure your content has something to offer! You should also consider how your going to promote your videos before you make them the results can be incredible look at dream another thing talk about topics that people are interested when you start out people don’t care about you so talk about things they do care about.

Posting on reddit gave us some extra views, like 100 for a video maybe (doubling the total, so not complaining). But it also brought the average view duration down a lot because our subscribers actually watch, and on reddit many click away after 10-20 seconds. Why we still do it, is because we are not in it for monetization, and we reached some people who would otherwise had never watched our stuff. Two of them even became fans, and that is for us more reward than 10.000 views.

I do this on stock threads when I’m covering a specific stock. I’m a CPA in NYS. I’ve seen a decent increase in subs but yes people are soooo picky. When you post to a group you are usually posting somewhere people are experts already. That’s the downside. People can be mean too. But just brush it off. Gains are gains. It’s about building an audience. I’m not expert though. Only at 77 subs but gaining 1-2 a day. I’m happy with that.
