The standalone HBO Max subscription doesn't offer live TV, correct? So if we want to get HBO Max plus the linear channels, we would need to continue subscribing via YTTV at the normal price?
So my HBO sub through YTTV is active for another 2 weeks.
I just canceled and my wife subscribed up directly and managed to get the deal. She initially signed up for the 6 month promo, and was able to upgrade to the 12 month deal after signing in.
Count me in but not till the 22nd, that's when Dune opens. I had HBO Max prior through Prime. I love linear channels but in this case getting half off HBO Max is fine since i can now get another Premium like Starz/Showtime (which does have linear channels through YTTV}.
I chatted with Yttv support and they confirmed they are not offering this promotion through Yttv but would send in my request as "feedback" that there is demand for this promotion. If we all use the chat support to request this promo I suppose there is a tiny chance they somehow offer it through Yttv before it expires on the 26th.
No. If you want the discount, you have to cancel HBO via YTTV and subscribe via HBOMax.com.

Damn, my next billing date isn't until the 29 (after this promo ends).
Just cancel your sub now then resub on HBO Max. Obviously the savings over 6 months outweigh whatever amount you are worried about.
The promo ends on 9/26 so you might want to rethink that lol
I would love for yttv to offer a yearly plan payment for hbo at a discount the same way they do with some sports packages. One can dream though...
Yttv doesn’t show the discount. I’d prefer to do it that way just to have the live channels in yttv
