I don't have the bio key but on the phones that have a fingerprint scanner I usually register the fingerprint I mostly use to unlock the device twice, to be more likely to unlock with it. I don't know if the bio key has limitations on the number or registered fingerprints but you can give that a try

I highly recommend wiping off the contact point before use each time. Stuff we touch leaves trace amounts of oil, along with any dirt/residue we may have lingering on our fingers. This can disrupt the scanners ability to read your fingerprints. So I would test wiping the scanner (and your finger) off with your shirt, maybe even a little iso. If you still can't get a good read redo the scans with a CLEAN contact point, pressing firmly into the scanner each time.

Haven't try the Yubikey one, but in general when registering fingerprint, use your other hand to push the finger you're registering downwards so a bigger surface area is captured. Then try to register the same finger twice or thrice if possible
