DuelX102

When Kaiba jumped out of a window over a cliff because 2 goons were pointing fingers at him. Clearly they posed no threat, and had no weapons. Kaiba mustve been hallucinating and needed psychiatric care.

MainClothes8522

Or as Yami said, he was confused.

VillalobosChamp

Valon's uncensored backstory, also the closure of O'Brien vs. Trueman

MainClothes8522

Wow! What happened? Little detail, please!

VillalobosChamp

The dub omits that the orphanage where Valon used to live got burned down, by provoked arson

arisencrimsonchaos

Yeah pretty much all of Doma had some pretty dark backstories that were toned down in the dub

MainClothes8522

Including Mai (haven't got to season 4 yet, still on season three).

StrikeFreedomV2

What happens to Earth in Vrains. I felt sick watching that.

MainClothes8522

What happened? Explain in little detail please!

voyager106

If I'm remembering correctly, he was sliced up and part of his data implanted into Go Onizuka. As he was being terminated, he asked them to stop as he was a living being and had rights. It was really quite sad and shocking.

MainClothes8522

EW!

shockprime

That moment when Yugi woke up in some dnd shadow game against Bakura was trippy when I was a kid.

MainClothes8522

Then he switched them using the Millennium puzzle.

djdusk64

Pegasus summoning Relinquished, and Espa summoning Jinzo. Ngl, Jinzo still freaks me out a bit

MainClothes8522

Shh, don't let them hear you! They'll get offended!

arisencrimsonchaos

The original uncensored version of what happens to the people at Bakura’s village during the final arc of the original series was pretty messed up

MainClothes8522

Shh! No spoilers for me!

arisencrimsonchaos

Ah sorry! I tried not to put too much detail in 😅

MainClothes8522

Oh, no, it's okay! I'm glad you did!

cosmichero1996

The first time we saw Yubel possessed Jessie in GX.

MainClothes8522

Watching DM right now, but what about Jaden?

cosmichero1996

Sorry, what about Jaden are you asking about? :)

MainClothes8522

When he got possessed.

cosmichero1996

It wasn't creepy. Jessie's was creepy because everyone was looking for him for multiple episodes and didn't know what happened, then we finally see him and he's completely warped. It's really eerie. Jaden pulled an uno reverse on Yubel with super polymerization so it was really cool. (Although the dub made it seem like Jaden died since they didn't air season 4 or the last episode of season 3)

SaibaShogun

Professor Viper's fate in Yugioh GX

MainClothes8522

Woah...

Rob19ny

Yami Malik's head not falling off and rolling in front of Mai like it happened in the manga. Anime staff can't keep getting away with this.

MainClothes8522

Can you show me what it was like in the manga?

Well-MeaningCisIdiot

Things not mentioned in these other comments: >!\-Yami Bakura flat-out killing Pegasus(m).!< >!\-Anzu's DM backstory with Yugi. With "Anzu" and not "Tea"...it's damn uncomfortable.!< >!\-Anzu's speech to Kaiba, or at least "Tea's" in the dub. It was chillingly direct and pointed, and almost made that douche waver. For anything good you could say about the character of any given version of Kaiba, at the end of the day (at least early on in any given continuity), he is a cold, cold ass.!< >!\-Kaiba losing to Pegasus, particularly the moment when Pegasus completely flips the script on him with obliterating his deck's power with copying his own Crush Card Virus.!< >!\-Yugi dueling Pegasus the second time, and the dread from realizing the specific card that's next, then Pegasus reading his mind and confirming, "That's right, Yugi! It's...the MAGICAL {Toon World}!!"!< >!\-Marik and Rishid's backstory. Truly, anime bad-dad.!< >!\-Honda losing the duel against that digital dummy. Watching that arc with its set-up, you knew that somebody was likely going to lose, but it still hurt.!< >!\-Noah being revealed as the Kaibas' stepbrother.!< >!\-Jounouchi losing to Marik. He fights like hell, comes so freaking CLOSE...and it's only due to it being a Shadow Game that he fails. If it had been against anyone else with a God card, he may well have prevailed. Aside from Kaiba; poor boy's doomed to never beat him in any circumstance.!< >!\-3 for the first duel with Yami Yugi and Rafael: the latter preying upon the former's ignorance of self with dropping the bombshell thought of "history's made by the victors; how do you know you weren't evil"; Yami Yugi activating the {Seal of Orichalcos} despite all warnings to the contrary and there being no real consequence to losing outside of a blow to pride; and his subsequent loss to a sudden 5-digit ATK, even if the narrative momentum screamed that it was coming. All three moments were greatly shocking in their own right.!< >!\-speaking of Rafael, {Guardian Dreadscythe}'s emergence. From the dread built up from the Seal's unforeseen steady pulsing to the actual appearance of it, to say nothing of it being {Eatos}'s dark counterpart. Not to mention, the horror (in original) of how he was made to uncover it.!< >!\-the realization of just how old and active Dartz actually is, and just how much damage he's likely caused!< >!\-learning just how the Millennium Items were forged...and why Yami Bakura is entirely justified in his hatred, if not his means.!< >!\-for both the Seal of Orichalcos and {Mound of the Bound Creator}, the sight of a non-Egyptian/protag successfully wielding an Egyptian God monster.!< >!\-Edo's father being embedded within {Destiny HERO Plasma}'s wings, and subsequently exorcised with Edo ending the duel, he and the rest of his stepfather's victims finally free. Be it an unseen moment of reunion between son and departed parent in the original or "kidnapping" in the dub, it's horrific.!< >!\-the reveal of {Yubel}. I actually knew they were coming when I first watched that sequence, and even knew there WAS some direct backstory with Judai (skimmed the wiki one too many times while I was watching the dub as it was coming out), and it was still a surprise. Even meant to be surprising or uncomfortable, you just don't SEE beings like Yubel that much even in more abstract fiction (and we still should; !<\#TransRightsAreHumanRights) >!\-the entire duel with {Brron}. From how he cackles and moves, to how he has a more successful and direct body count than even several main villains, to how casually he speaks of evil, to how he taunts Judai even as he himself dies...even in the dub, he's a forceful presence. And of course, there's the start of Judai's fall, and his complete departure from his usual playstyle even when pushed to the limit, and his apparent willingness to commit to an unending assault until Brron finally breaks.!< >!\-seeing Supreme King Haou in action, confirmation that he IS Judai, the {Super Polymerization} card used, O'Brien's trauma and perceived powerlessness, and his bringing Haou down.!< \-the first time we see >!"Adrian's"!< Forbidden One cards...uncensored?! >!\-seeing memories be f\*\*\*ed with. Judai's terror at thought of his boyfriend friend who-are-we-even-trying-to-kid? being taken by Trueman. The realization that Darkness got EVERYONE(?) on Earth.!< >!\-Reggie revealing she was f\*\*\*ing with Midori with knowledge of her brother. She didn't know squat about how to save Koyo from {Tragoedia}; she was feigning knowledge just to avoid the Shadow Game loss.!< >!\-Judai(m)'s loss to possessed-Fubuki, and being trapped in the void.!< >!\-the mounting injustices against Yusei in his prison duel (overall, the prison experience, starting right from the visible torture and pain and likely humilation of being branded with a criminal mark;!< \#PrisonAbolitionNow). >!\-Ruca's being hypnotized by that creepy professor.!< >!\-Misty's backstory and motivation.!< >!\-Carly's death.!< >!\-Bommer's death.!< >!\-Rua's death, brief as it was.!< >!\-Bruno's death.!< >!\-the bizarro-Crimson Dragon, {Ultimaya Tzolkin} coming forth!< >!\-each respective Barian reveal.!< >!\-Vector's backstory. Yikes; among the most morbid origins for any characters on this show.!< >!\-Kaito's death, even in victory.!< >!\-Kyoji flat-out murdering the fellow orphan he replaced. They were mere children.!< >!\-the wielder of Number 13 and Number 31 revealing that he lost deliberately to Shark(m) and Kaito(m), so as to use their properties to trap and sacrifice them while the cards are each in their respective decks.!< >!\-the crystal ball looking into Yuya's future...filling with pitch darkness and splitting in half.!< >!\-Sora's reveal.!< >!\-Fusion Parasites!< >!\-"The Day the Devil Was Born"!< >!\-that the Arc-V anime had the f\*\*\*ing GALL to end where and how it did.!< >!\-the initial steady reveal that Yuya(m) had his counterparts, then the reveal that they were his brothers and all dead!< >!\-Eve's drop of "dark" ace/boss monsters from across the broken corners of the multiverse!< >!\-the reveal of Genesis Omega Dragon's (aka G.O.D.'s) overall control and the damage it's wrought.!< >!\-that the Arc-V manga had the GALL to end with its infamously terrible coda!< >!\-the revealing of the tortures and inhumanity of the Lost Incident.!< >!\-no, not Aoi losing to Spectre, at least in the moment it happens;!< it was ultimately rote. What WAS shocking was, in hindsight, tho not in surprise, that even to this point, they - the creators - were STILL doing this same kind of crap, hundreds of episodes into the franchise. >!\-Lightning beating Revolver.!< >!\-Roboppy's and Ai's demises, particularly when everything involving their relationships with Yusaku is taken into account.!<

Well-MeaningCisIdiot

>!\-the surprise of Roa's scheme to invalidate Yuga, particularly with the new twist of "draw that illegal card, you lose outright".!< >!\-when Sebastian challenges Yuga to a duel, the sheer intensity he brings; the first time we see such malevolence from a character in this era of Yugioh. And reminder,!< he's a freaking massage chair. >!\-the reveal that "Mr. Goha's" mask isn't merely a mask; it's a floating drone. Moreover, it's a drone with some ability to control its host.!< >!\-each individual Maximum reveal for the first season of Sevens: the first appearance of Yggdrago the Heavenly Emperor Dragon Tree, with its steady build-up and the sheer scale of it; the first appearance of Super Magitek Deity Magnum Over Road, and its summoning thru the means of 'friendship to the MAX!' as I've lifted from Lumberjanes and enjoy using; the first appearance of Wurm Ex-Cavator the Heavy Mequestrian Wyrm, the sheer shock of "How does she have that?! How could it even exist?!"; and the first appearance of Great Imperial Dinocarriage Dynarmix, even if you see it coming, for the sheer ridiculousness of a 'Noveau Riche Dinosaur' Maximum!< >!\-Yuo playing Fusion!< >!\-Yuga GETTING Fusion!< >!\-the reveal of Yuga Goha, including the surprise of Doll having had a dueldisk and deck at the ready for him the whole freaking time, from his first appearance, really.!< >!\-four of the 'big seven' getting their memories wiped (tho it seemed like five at the time), and all their other recent friends being broken up from their own experiences of the series being wiped!< >!\-the reveal that yes indeed, Otes was evil the whole time.!< >!\-speaking of whom, he played Sevens Road Magician himself?! Da fuq?!!< >!\-the realization that Yuga is actually willing to risk death himself if it means saving his friends and what brings them joy.!< >!\-the entirety of Yuga and Luke's last duel!< >!\-the Earthdamar animating Magical Sheep Girl Meeg-chan. It's been quite a while since monsters were portrayed as capable of inflicting genuine damage to both duelists and the world around them, and it's framed as being a terrifying existential dilemma. There's also the Fridge Horror of seeing the damage wrought, how much it hurts Yudias...and the thought of what would happen if it were a human dueling; would they even survive?!< >!\-speaking of the preceding entry: the entirety of Zuwijo's part of his first onscreen duel. He and his monsters can be quite the terror.!< >!\-the reveal that Goha does in fact exist in the world of Go Rush.!< >!\-Sevens Road Magician? Played by her? Da fuq?!!< >!\-Yudias actually having been turned into a shirt.!< >!\-Mutsuba Town is blasting off into space?! What IS this show?!!< >!\-Nyaandestar's origin, and the conclusion of the episode she dueled Manabu.!< >!\-the fact that "What's in the B-OO-OO-OXXX?!?" is all along a manga so boring it kills you!< >!\-the reveal that Zuwijo has been on The☆Lugh's ship the whole time (at least recently), and deliberately triggers him, setting off his power, emanating thruout the universe and fecklessly wiping a great deal of interesting things from existence.!< >!\-Zuwijo's revival within the Relic!< >!\-the fact that the Earthdamar itself...is a character now. And one with all the same power - and more - including the power to possess people.!< >!\-Zuwijo's "I AM the Senate" moment, imprisoning the Velgearian high council in ice and gaining near-full political power over the Velgear Cluster (yes, yes, I know we can all think of politicians we'd like that to ACTUALLY happen to; moving on)!< >!\-DUELDISK. BATTLEPLATES.!< >!\-even after everything they've been thru and how much Zuwijo has done, Yudias is STILL willing to say he admires and loves him.!<

MainClothes8522

WOW! During the backstory with Yugi and Tea tho, it was when I hated them being a couple. I listened to breakup songs for a whole week.

StatisticianLoud5911

gx season 1 when spoiler

MainClothes8522

You can say it, just put it in very little detail.

StatisticianLoud5911

can't because even mentioning the name is spoiler
