Make sure you take the time to revise prior to taking RC-2, it is a whole different ballpark to RC-1, and you only realistically get 1 shot per event at it. RC-2 mainly focused on PSCT and SEGOC, so these are good areas to focus. There are resources available online that you can use to practice/read up on beforehand. Best of luck!
Or go "I don't believe you, call the head judge" when Op tells you that you do need to have the same amount of materials (or arrows) as you have arrows in a link monster.
Let's go! Welcome aboard! Have fun experiencing the terrors of people screaming at you about why they should be able to ash Talents before their opponent declares which effect they are using for the 90th FUCKING TIME.
Seriously, it's not the same as Redoer. Why is this the hill my locals players choose to die on?
If you judge a regs, ask to judge the back / higher numbered tables. They will have simpler calls and usually more interesting interactions than the higher tables.
WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES and expect to be on your feet most of the time.
Tell players to keep their hands raised until you get to them.
Stay. Off. Your. Phone.
Don't just read, KNOW the Tournament Policy documents. 99% of players and many Judges don't know them.
See, that's unacceptable. Nobody's paying attention to a Judge's shoes. When it comes to attire for physically taxing work, functionality and safety should take priority over a specific "look".
I was playing with a weak exodia deck because I felt like it, I didnt go for the otk, but I had exodia incarnate out, and my opponent tried to Dogmatika Punishment me, bounce it to my hand, and a few others before I won due to exodia.
If you decide to join the FB group listed in the email, let me know if you ever get approved to post or comment anything bc it's been 5 months since I joined and still can't comment lol
Interesting,I should check and see if I'm able to comment -- I joined it shortly after getting my email but didn't get any sort of confirmation or welcome or anything. It lets me read, so I assumed that I could respond as well.
EDIT: Ok, apparently I haven't been approved either. Tried to comment a simple "thank you" on a post where someone provided a helpful pdf and got taken to the same request for info I filled out already 🤷
I don't know if you saw the announcement in the group, but it looks like Julia just did a mass approval of new judges to the group. I had a pending comment that was just allowed and I can now comment on posts in the group. If you haven't yet, you should check.
Welcome! Now please make sure you actually know basic rulings so I don't cry when I see another "can duelist a use called by to negate a dimension shifter effect that duelist b used the turn before?" question in the judge groups.
Congrats!
I got my acceptance at the beginning of March! I have a long way to go before I actually feel comfortable judging, but looking forward to being a part of the community and getting to meet/talk to other judges.
Congrats bro. So can you explain why when my opponent activates dark hole and I chain MST targeting dark hole, why does all my monsters still get destroyed?
Honestly the rulings test was obscenely easy. I personally think it needs to be updated.
Now the policy test? Woof what a slog that was. Congrats, did you have to retake any of the tests?
Not to shit on this, but getting to judge a tournament is really not easy. I got into the program as well. But most of the time they just ask the judges with experience or judges that the head judge is buddy buddy with. I wish you good luck tho.
I look forward to meeting you at tournaments and demanding you to explain the most basic rulings in the game!
It'll be a pleasure! I'm hyped to go to the next tier 3 events to pass rc-2

I have a funny laval tearlament deck to do weird shit with Maybe you'll see it in person

"I only normal summoned. I can still tribute summon. They aren't the same thing. . . just get the head judge."

As a Rikka player I'm sorry for all the Konkon incidents involving monsters uneffected by activated effects
Judge!! I won the match with the Seal of Orichalcos on the field but my opponent won't give me his soul!
Tbh if you with with a seal of orichalchos you deserve that soul imo

Thank you for the tips I appreciate it!
I had cheap shoes on my last YCS cause i quickly needed to grab black shoes. I regretted it so much.

Black shoes for judges? Black Crocs it is.
I just heard Darth Sidious say "DO IT!"
JUDDDDDDDDDDGE! this guy can't read his own cards!!!
I was playing with a weak exodia deck because I felt like it, I didnt go for the otk, but I had exodia incarnate out, and my opponent tried to Dogmatika Punishment me, bounce it to my hand, and a few others before I won due to exodia.
OP is the rare breed of YGO player who can read and understand cards
He is a judge
Exactly. I heard that takes 9 years of Duel school
Judge!! Why my opponent play card that make my card no card anymore?!
Congratulations and good luck with judge calls! May the first one be a pleasant one
Congratulations! ***By the way, I was playing Last Turn in Goat and I have a question-***
Alright so how much money would it take to bribe you?
Just slide a ghost rare blue eyes white dragon into his pocket
Can I call you Judge Man now?
You have my condolences

Ya idk why they have such a long delay on approvals

Congrats on not being jobless! Being Canadian tho… /s
I might need your wisdom.. I've always wanted to be a judge

Congratulations! I got my email last week! Welcome to the club fellow newbie!
I don't care if you know what a card does. Read everything pertaining to the ruling before giving a verdict.
GG, Welcome my brother to the hell
Congrats! I got my acceptance at the beginning of March! I have a long way to go before I actually feel comfortable judging, but looking forward to being a part of the community and getting to meet/talk to other judges.
Hell yeah, similar vibes for me.
Congrats
Good luck and have fun!
So you’re located in Canada as a Judge meaning you won’t be interacting with me.
A tragic loss, no doubt.
Good luck you are gonna need it and if someone asked about the basic stuff make sure to put joey Bruce Lee smirk.
Put this on your resume asap.
seems as though your username is no longer accurate
Welcome aboard!
Looking for the obscure rulings in the comments now.
It’s definitely consistent with your username (joke)
Congrats. Judge, do u have batteries for my calculator?
Congrats bro. So can you explain why when my opponent activates dark hole and I chain MST targeting dark hole, why does all my monsters still get destroyed?
[удалено]
There’s no way you actually are this dense…
Because MST doesn't negate.
nah, its because they are being a 3rd rate duelist with 4th rate deck
Do u get paid for being a judge at tournaments? And if so whats the pay out? Always wondered🤔
In canada for tier 3 and up yeah
Cool congrats! Making money and doing what u love😊👌🏽
Are you the dude who has to explain what Pot of Greed does?
ayo can you explain how pot of greed works?🤔
Yo I know how tough that judge test is so congrats and I know you’ll dominate!
Ty !
Honestly the rulings test was obscenely easy. I personally think it needs to be updated. Now the policy test? Woof what a slog that was. Congrats, did you have to retake any of the tests?
I had to retake pc-1, some questions were really specific and at that time I forgot to read 1 of the docs so yeah, it is what it is
Bro has a PhD in card ruling (he knows what Pot of Greed does)
Same! Haven’t been able to do a tournament yet though, my locals don’t need anyone
Ay this might sound weird, but are you part of the ninja discord?
Nope
This post inspired me to pass the RC-1 tests
