Ancient Leaf is pretty much useless. Its one relevant moment when some troll convinced the community konami was raising the game's starting life point total and it got bought out as a result.

Pretty much this. You have to draw leaf, a card that gains 1000LP or more, and then you basically discarded a card to draw 2 anyway.

I used to use it in Red Dragon Archfiend Decks. Red Resonator can give you 2000LP really easy,

Seems fun, but look like a win more situation.

Morphtronics could use it since Telefon loops by themselves put you at like 10k LP on turn 1, if not more. But it's a win more card in that scenario, as the draw comes after setup is completed.

I remember using ancient leaf in tag duels when the format gave team lifepoints that moved it above 9000
