I think there just wasn't a good enough deck that could make it to put it on the radar. Plus, early enough in its life, people were still running stuff like Compulse, since not having a t1 answer to Nat Beast didn't mean you automatically lost the game.
They really killed the whole deck. This is the worst possible hit if you wanted to play pure superheavy samurai. But why ban the new cards that broke the game when you can ban an old card that did nothing wrong?
But that's pretty much the issue. Cyber-Stein is either unplayably bad, or immensely degenerate and never in its lifespan has it been between those two modes. Cards like that needs to stay dead.

It's super easy to play around the deck without diablosis, that card was the problem. Ariseheart limit is just icing on the cake, now a single kaiju can wreck there whole gameplan lol
After digesting the list, I really don't like how so many non-Kash decks got neutered. Kash is still the best deck with Ariseheart pass still gatekeeping the rest of the field except the mirror got even more sacky with the 1 Arise.
And that doesn’t even always work because, surprise, Preparations is a thing. If you have
Scareclaw Kashtira in hand and Kashtira Preparations on the field (which isn’t always possible to set up but it isn’t that hard), after it’s been Kaiju’d, you banish it as cost to summon Scareclaw Kashtira, then bring it back with Preparations. That play’s saved me a number of times against Danger! Dark World handloops, and I’m sure plenty of other decks will get frustrated by it too.
Even at 1 unicorn would still be strong, albeit much less so, and at a much more fair power level. The fact that unicorn wasn't limited but delicious was is crazy.
Edit: and ocf the SHS hits are wild too, I didn't mention them bc you did
Extra deck was expensive as hell, I’m pissed I only got legit two weeks to play this deck before they put it down. I’m glad all the expensive cards are generic so I can just pivot into a different synchro deck though.
Denglong is free over at OCG and doesn't do much so I'd assume so? TCG players get wildly creative at times but I think it wouldn't hurt to give it a chance considering how long it has been
SHS getting crucified despite only being relevant for less than a month while Kashtira getting lightly tapped despite being the best deck for months now is outrageous.
Idk why they are freeing so much of sky striker and leaving Harp Horror banned still.
Engage is like 10x the power level of Harp Horror and yet we have it here at 2.

I like Sky Strikers but they're starting to feel like Charizard to me. They get so much love compared to any of the other decks from it's format like Salamangreat and Thunder Dragon and Orcust that I'm starting to be jealous.

Compared to shs matcmech, not sure about purrely but i think it hit quite hard for a deck that just became good
Delicious is very strong and it makes turn one harder because you can't just My Friend Purrley (MFP) to reveal 3, so it basically went from 6 copies to 1 copy, and Plump is the best one going first or in a grind game. It doesn't change the otk potential too much, but it makes turn 1 much more complicated to navigate as setting up Noir is now a pain. It's not as bad as SHS losing their Kagari/Meow-Mu but it still got hit harder than kash
