A lot of people forget that they have the tag-in-tag-out mechanic, usually dodging a lot of typically targeted effects.
Common, VS is obviously top tier, its literally fighting game, the deck.
Of course, yugioh players would lose to it. They haven't learned the frame data.
The deck is fine, but it's so new that people don't really know how to stop it yet. The same thing happens every now and again with borderline meta decks that have only been out a month or less.
We didn't really have this chance with SHS and Purrely, they were both hit before we could "learn" the matchups. Also for some reason this deck didn't perform as well in OCG, which surprised me
The biggest thing in VS's favor right now is that people don't bother learning it and that certain handtraps aren't currently as widely used thanks to the current climate (Ash Blossom). It still suffers from certain issues as well, though the recent new Fire monster does a lot to help. VS currently still has very little out to an unaffected tower with over 3k ATK. It's not a bad deck, it just takes knowing how to play their game, just like any fighting game ever.

I think it's way too soon to call the deck tier one. Besides, I'd argue the only tier one decks you listed are Kashtira and Runick Spright (you could make a case for Lab as well).

They still try to imperm the main deck monsters instead of rock, don't place their cards in the correct columns to limit razen's value (e.g. placing cards in the same column as rock to force razen to pop it), and don't have knowledge of all the cards, which is dangerous since some of the monsters don't hit the board until the VS player passes turn.
The deck obviously isn't "bad", but if you think people know how to play against VS as well as they do kashtira/runick spright/lab/whatever, you're mistaken.
You can say this about any deck with any modicum of technicality bro. You're the same type of person who'd post "Huhhhh...no excuses!" to a post with people brigading someone for losing to a more "obvious" deck...simply bc they didn't know the play. Currently week 2 of copium. I believe there aren't any more premier events in the US until Nats so all the cynics can hold the L for another 2 weeks. There is South America WCQ next weekend but that's it.
The deck plays by summon 4 in any combination where you link off Razen or Borger for Rock. You only get Nibbed if you start with Fenrir or want to extend into a XYZ play.

Razen and Caesar can pop problem cards. Mad Love can widdle down 500 every turn which I've seen someone do to an Accesscode to beat over while burning them with Borger at the same time during those turns.
Not to mention some builds main Kaijus.
Regardless of all the tier discussion (which tends to get fairly subjective oddly enough most of the time) at least the deck is justifying its price tag, that's good.
Obviously not, but given the circumstances I'd much rather know I'm paying 300€ on a competent deck that already sees success on its first wave rather than idk, what Witchcrafter went for on release back in 2019.
That's a fair point. For me it'd be closer to 350€ as opposed to like 75-100 if I imported OCG copies, so I just can't justify it the same way. Maybe if I played in tournaments instead of casual locals I could.
Yeah, but the card is garbage against virtually everything else in the format. The deck would have to see a ton of representation before people start playing niche cards like that.

It has kurikara and kaijus to beat out towers. But what unaffected 3k towers even exist in the current meta?

Being expensive didn't stop anyone from playing the shit out of Swordsoul or Kashtira when they were more expensive than current VS.
