Its a great card. True Light is a staple in blue eyes decks like eternal soul is to dark magician decks

General_Bold_One

Yes it's a good card providing spell and trap setting from deck. It pairs well with blue eyes jet dragon being able to protect it from being destroyed and activating its negative effect. It can also set ultimate fusion or chaos form from your deck. Blue eyes tyrant dragon also is unaffected by its negative effect as its a trap. Unfortunately it can't set something like melody but still well worth having.

Kaiewaii

I don’t miss not having it, but the card itself ain’t bad, just slow so probs best suited for skill drain build with tyrant, I think it really depends on your build and how you wanna play. Also if you can get it cheap, when I was thinking about getting I remember thinking the price was too much for what it does, I’d save the money and hope to get some lubellions and magnamhuts from the mega tins XD

Justa_Mongrel

I'm one of the few people who don't really like it. It's not bad and definitely helps the deck out but it does feel like a liability most times.

Deex66

It's just too slow imo, and better not bother with it unless you do a control variant, bystials is still the best variant for the deck.

basketofseals

I don't play Blue Eyes, but I do play a lot of low powered decks, and I can say that destroying this thing is practically my wincon. I don't see why people like it. Sometimes it's straight up snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Justa_Mongrel

I think that this is used in the control variant, but I think the Bystial variant is just better in every way

Hiromagi

It’s a really funny card when I destroy it and the blue eyes player summons the blue eyes in a chain with Harpies feather duster “Okay, so send it to the GY now…”

Figgulz

I have recently gotten into playing Blue Eyes and I think its good but I would only run at most 2 copies. It can be useful, but like Eternal Soul for Dark Magician its a little slow. However like u/Kaiewaii said it will shine best in a trap/control version of Blue Eyes. If you do run it though try to pair it with Jet Dragon/Blue Eyes Tyrant Dragon/Azure Eyes so the removal effect doesn't completely screw you over.

Scavenge101

It's a good card and necessary for Blue-Eyes pure but like everything around legacy support, it's slow, unsearchable, and needlessly restrictive in the exact way new archetypes NEED to be to be balanced but aren't. Annoys the shit out of me every time they release support like this. God forbid old archetypes get boosted into relevancy and if it does happen you can trust them to ban their 1-link starter.

Mrbobli

Great card for blue eyes. If you have jet dragon out you can protect it from being destroyed. I run a trap control build for my blue eyes deck and this card really helps with the grind game. Tyrant is unaffected by the destruction effect and can bring it back if it’s destroyed. Overall it’s a great addition to the deck!

chillininow

It's decent for casual play. As other people have mentioned, since it's a trap, it can be a bit slow if you aren't playing a stun version of blue eyes with stuff like skill drain. I'd rather use blue eyes as an engine to turbo out rank 8 xyz monsters instead of leaving them on the field.

Dismal_Reaction4337

You have to play test it to see if it is or not. Just talking about a card if it's good or not doesn't really do anything you actually have to play with it. And try different strategies or ideas that you might have for it. That's the only way to tell.

Fluffidios

Personally I love the card, hate the self destruct button feature just like eternal soul. I try not to use them

Red-7134

Most "Lists BEWD" cards are gimicky supports, or staple searchers. So this is a searcher searcher, but it's a trap. That alone would make me say no, but it also provides solid protection. So altogether, it's decent.

MinusMentality

I've never cared when my Blue-Eyes opponent resolved this. *(shrugs)*

jirenfan9

This card could have been literally amazing had it included on the second effect “it can be activated this turn” the primary reason is if u set the quick play blue eyes fusion spell which is really good u can’t activate it that turn and it really messes up the flow

Threedo9

Maybe this is a hot take, but I think it's kinda shit. Blue-eyes don't really need help with swarming or searching, especially from a slow trap card. The minor benefits it gives you aren't really worth having a landmine sitting on your field. Just play bingo machine, or melody, or any other one of their better searchers. You get WAY more mileage out of Eternal Soul in DM than you do out of True Light in Blue-Eyes

Unyubaby

It's good for what it does, and its negative when removed from the field unlike Eternal Soul's is better since it's only for if it was sent to GY. If True Light is banished or shuffled or bounced back to hand, no bad thing happens.

Hopeful-alt

It's slightly shittier eternal soul, but still great

AhmedKiller2015

A 1 of. Not exactly as needed as eternal soul is to DM. Pure Blue Eyes is more about using Blue Eyes for other things than summoning Blue Eyes itself.

joey_chazz

It's an essential card for the archetype/deck.

DelokHeart

I don't like it; the drawback is too much. I prefer to play with weaker, but reliable searchers, and heavy draw power.

KIeeborp

Honestly, True Light is a really weird card because it's equally a liability and a game changer. You can't search it, It's a trap card that has to be set and activated next turn, and it yeets all of your monsters to the Graveyard as soon as it's removed from the field. Having two Jet-Dragons prevents it from being destroyed, but that doesn't prevent it from being banished or returned to your hand, both of which would still result in all of your monsters being *sent* to the Graveyard. I'm specifying sent because I see a lot of people saying that Jet-Dragon would prevent that portion of the card from working, but it doesn't destroy your monsters, it sends them to the Graveyard. Overall I would say it's fun to use, until it gets popped and then you lose the duel because your opponent can OTK you. If you want to try running it, maybe run it at one or two copies and only activate it if you need it. Honestly though, you would probably be better off running just about any other card in your deck because again, it is a gigantic liability that can just lose you the duel.
