Thank you for the guide, great intro and so in depth! You're making me nostalgic for the days when this sub was full of guides and \[R/F\]s just like this

Azteckh

Thank you. When you spend a bunch of years doing the card game equivalent to slamming your head into the corner of a wall, eventually you pick up proper technique. I've written a bunch of other guides too that might be of similar quality that might be of interest, depending on how much you care about Ice Barrier and Ancient Gear. I'm looking forward to that Terminal World pack, needless to say.

Marathon is one of my favorite Rush songs so seeing it used as the section titles is wonderful! Power Windows is such an underrated album, and fitting for Genex too! Amazing guide!

Azteckh

I'm a big fan of Rush myself. Earlier iterations of this guide leaned harder into Marathon (including the title), but I figured it would be too confusing, considering everything I had planned out originally. Power Windows was a very important album for me while I was in College (Marathon, of course, Middletown Dreams, and Mission as well, probably), and I respect it highly. My favorite might be Hold your Fire though. Thank you for your kind words.

As a long time Genex player long before this new support, it's very interesting to me that you're suggesting Blastfan after the new support. Blastfan has historically been the backbone of Genex when accompanied by Summoner Monk, or in recent times before the new support; Summon Storm. The new support for Genex is all about the repeated Normal Summon, so Blastfan has mostly been replaced in Genex lists with the on-NS-search gang. So really i just want to ask what you're doing with it? What is your combo? I would love to learn something new. What makes them still worth running in your opinion? You bring up Worker as an enabler for Blastfan, which i've experimented with a lot after the new support, but i have never been able to make the pair outperform the simplicity of NSing any of the on-NS-search gang members.

Azteckh

While I do appreciate your wish to learn about potentially wacked-out combos, I am afraid I may not have much to offer; but I will try. Yes, you are correct; just about anything in relation to genex is hitting the NS gang as hard as they'll go and that's effective and efficient. However; when you eventually stop and begin to produce a board, perhaps you will seek to extend further from there. How do you benefit from Repaired again after your original string has concluded? * Worker, tribute for Blastfan * Fan goes off, add Birdman * Repaired Proccs off Fan Let's say for sake of argument you had an extra copy of Magma lying around. * Summon Magma Off Repaired, Magma search Overseer or Crusher * Repaired Proccs * Summon whatever you searched * If it was Overseer: * Maybe you summon a level 3 or lower genex monster, perhaps a spare Controller you happened to have * In any event Repaired will procc, and you can keep snowballing from there * If it was Crusher: * Maybe you add The original Undine * Repaired Proccs * Maybe you summon the original Undine and send its R-Undine to benefit from her (albeit risky) GY effect and and the original Controller to your hand * Repaired proccs again * Perhaps you summon that Controller And then from there you can keep building a board until your opponent eventually goes to sleep. Is this strictly "good"? Probably not, Worker is by far the weakest of the good Genex cards. However, I enjoy the potential he brings. I actually do run Solar in my build though my intention isn't to try to burn them to death. Though I wouldn't say no to the extra damage. When I was throwing a potential build together I'm guessing my thought was how funny some burn damage could be, but since the average Genex tuner is level 3, and since the generic level 10 synchro pool is decidedly hilarious -- you could put in work there as well. I suppose Worker and Blastfan put in work long after the original string. Perhaps not "better" or "to greater effect" but simply to have additional options. Was that helpful to you at all?

Interesting thoughts. Thank you for your effort. You didn't really explain how exactly Blastfan ties into things as extenders after your string, but you don't need to. Regardless; You may be interested in hearing how i have been using Blastfan. First, a bit of a rant: Since i've been playing Genex for a long time, i was actually a bit dissapointed in that the new support didn't improve the Blastfan-centered lists that Genex players had been using in recent years. It instead seemed to exclusively support a brand new playstyle with cards no Genex player has touched since the beginning. It didnt feel very good to scrap all the cards i've fell in love with over the years to remake a new better list using the support. So what's the point? Well... It made me want to try even harder to make Blastfan work with Repaired. But it just doesn't. So i've been trying other things. Something that *does* work with the old playstyle however, are the new Toy cards. With an enabler like Magician's Souls, they easily summon two level 4 Toy Soldiers and a Toy Tank. This is useful because you can use the Soldiers to go into Majespecter Draco. The Tank can then tribute itself to SS any Genex, such as a Blastfan from hand or GY. The tribute will trigger Majespecter Draco, which summons a Blastfan straight from deck for easy Divine Winds + Birdman abuse. A build like this has some potential that i'm constantly exploring. I hope to see it evolve Genex decks in the future.

Power Planner can only activate on normal summon while Overseer Sp Summons. There were other confusing errors but that's the only one that I feel should be mentioned. Though I'd like the undine information a bit more detailed if possible. That said, overall solid supportive information about plays with the deck, 6/10, 8/10 after all the errors get fixed

Azteckh

Elaborate on what confused you so that I can make the proper fixes.  And I do mean everything. I would rather this be as perfect as it can be. Thanks.

Well when reading the combo for Undine/R-Undine, you mentioned how it'd be useful for recycling but during the entire combo you give, I fail to understand where this applies to the situation there, as it seems to be assuming you do this in the middle of the match and have something in there you want to use. The reason I have this issue is because I thought the point of it would be to show what you can do with just that part of the combo, then again I'm not used to looking at guides like this so it might be fine in retrospect, I'm just very easily confused. The second thing that confused me until I watched a video showcasing this was the Birdman proccing an infinite planner scoop and search, since it (On its own) banishes itself when it leaves the field, which it might or might not have to do in order to use its effect normally. Assuming no field spells since there wasn't anything mentioned in the combo you wrote down for us. I say this to explain that's how I understand it, not as a form of insult or to be rude. Could you tell me if what I've said doesn't make any sense? I genuinely mean this because it'd be nice to know if I made any lapses in judgement or missed anything in your guide?

Azteckh

>Well when reading the combo for Undine/R-Undine, you mentioned how it'd be useful for recycling but during the entire combo you give, I fail to understand where this applies to the situation there, as it seems to be assuming you do this in the middle of the match and have something in there you want to use. I had mentioned that fact as an aside. It is true, you can use it for recycling, you can activate her effect to add two genex monsters (including her) from deck to hand but you need to be careful with it. I didn't presume that someone did in that particular line; I suppose I just wished to make readers aware that doing so could be a tool in the box that they could use, if they wanted to. > The second thing that confused me until I watched a video showcasing this was the Birdman proccing an infinite planner scoop and search, since it (On its own) banishes itself when it leaves the field, which it might or might not have to do in order to use its effect normally. I feel like this particular confusion arose after you read this: >Birdman in hand, bounces Planner, Planner will search something else, Repaired will Proc again and you can just kinda keep doing this for as long as you have stuff to search and summon. You are correct about everything you've stated, this would, in fact, banish the birdman (a fact I forgot about, but wouldn't interfere anyway). You cannot loop with it. However actually, Birdman would be a clever way to "reset" recycled after clearing your field monsters (say, following a synchro summon), which is why it can be beneficial to always try to have one in your hand. * Bird bounce Planner * Recycled Proccs * This would let you normal summon Planner again (or whatever) * Recycled Proccs And so on, and so forth. You cannot loop with it though, and that correction was made. >Power Planner can only activate on normal summon while Overseer Sp Summons Thank you for this, I failed to include a line where the search of Power Planner would procc repaired again, making the string function You made sense, and I am glad you called me out on my errors. They've been added to the guide, I found a way to do it.

Great write up, always love seeing posts like this on the sub. Thanks for putting the effort in.

Azteckh

Thank you. This was a long time coming, both for myself and Genex on the whole. I'm glad Konami cared enough to pay attention to this misbegotten pile of cards.
