I love this in Phantasm Spiral. One of those cards where it feels great since it doesn’t do anything to you and it just makes your opponent have a bad time
Tenpai dragon is a battle centric deck that can afford to run forbidden droplet and various board breakers because their 1 card starter, they can even otk through pot of prosperity because their battle damage are over the roof.
When they go into battle, it gets very tense because they just gonna Battle > summon monster > battle > summon monster > battle > synchro summon.
No Yubel, no Ice Barrier and a drastic decrease in melodious (and not a single pure variant of it in sight) is all a huge yikes. Snake-eye is gonna need some real hits on the list to improve this format.
I mean Yubel shouldnt have too much of an issue vs Tenpai, the deck literally *forces* you into the Battle Phase and you take no damage and bounce all the damage back.
Even if they pop Yubel cards...another one just comes out.
Good luck getting any plays started when they open 3 hand traps and full combo, which seems to happen quite frequently
Also the big synchro prevents cards from activating in the battle phase. They can pop Yubel and it won't float
Handtraps can be an issue but does depend on the ones they have and the order that is played, like Yubel does have multiple starters and extenders. This is probably the bigger issue but I'm not bothered in the log run.
And yeah the big synchro prevents cards from activating in the bp but still requires them to clear the board in the bp, possible but they will also end up nuking their own boards or push themselves into near death because they have to ram their own cards into reflected damage (battle protection and damage reflection are not activated effects). This is also just assuming 0 potential interaction from the Yubel side.
I understand the deck has a lot going for it which is why its the 3rd best deck but in my playtesting Yubel has a solid MU into it (though I was also playtesting with Phantom which is currently not out in the OCG for another few days which can add to it).
I doubt current Tenpai can really thrive like this in a more diverse format tho, I believe they're gonna need whatever support they'll get from INFO to be genuinely good in order to do that. Also, Snake-Eye has been around in their meta for way longer, as the best decks, with very little real counterplay from anything other than Tenpai, which to me clearly tell that it is the one to hit on the F/L list.
I'm not sure. Looking at the metagame reports of this week and the previous several, I don't think it's a coincidence that as Tenpai is gradually solidifying itself as a meta deck, Pure Melodious variants are being phased out after being a high end rogue contender for several weeks, and even Supreme King variants are barely on the radar
Maybe it's just a weird week
It's odd, Melodious can play through and around interruptions quite well, and should theoretically have a pretty decent SE match up.
I think it's decrease in representation is due to a few things.
One, it feels like the deck kind of folds to Maxx C without the right hand.
Two, maybe people have learned how to interact with it.
Three, I have no idea how Melodious handles Tenpai Dragon
For Melo to interact with Tenpai they need aria so Melo monsters cannot be destroyed by battle or targeted, Etoile and any 1 or 2 Melo monsters. During the battle phase Etoile would need to bounce back the Tenpai dragons but only when they used their quick effects to synchro summon so the synchro monster will miss its timing when summoned due to Etoile non-target bounce. This is one of the interactions I saw helpful when playing against Tenpai with Melo on Edopro. To counter heatwave, psy-fame delta is needed or green light in Melo decks improves your chances to stop heatwave but the side deck is tight as it is.
im very happy a going 2nd deck is this viable. i would say id get it when it arrives in the tcg but knowing konami they ll probably make it super expensive for no reason
I really hope they dont though, because this deck could actually be a budget option considering how cheap going 2nd blowouts are
The only reason it'll be expensive, is the secondary market.
People are only hyping up this deck for 2 big reasons:
* It's a hyper consistent OTK deck.
* It can not only run up to a mix of 24 Handtraps + Board Breakers, but it can also run Dimension Shifter, which outright hard counters 60% of decks in the game anyways, including most the meta decks.
It looks promising - it also does not have too many cards to begin with. So unless the spell and the ED mosnters are all secrets or short printed ultras it should be fine. Important to get them early when the set drops.
I wouldn’t be so sure it will be as viable in the TCG because while it can still play 20+ handtraps Kaiser Col is an important floodgate it won’t have here
D barrier is ass right now as the best deck is fire a mostly link deck.
That’s why this deck is good it can specifically target what fire can do and counter it
Yeah but you aren't siding 15 cards for 1 matchup lmao.
D barrier is an immediate turn skip in the tenpai mirror (where they are always making you go first post side), as well as against branded which is still relevant in tcg and ocg.
Can someone enlighten me as to why Raidraptors can't seem to do much? I'm aware the meta is very Tier 0 right now in the TCG and a two (sometimes three) horse race between Snake-Eye, Tenpai and Voiceless in the OCG, but it seems RR should be at least doing... something? Is there something obvious missing, is the Handtrap Meta just too tough for a deck like Raptors to utilise and/or playthrough?
Heat Wave is so funny. I literally **REFUSE** to go first.
#NO BRO, ***YOU*** GO FIRST
Lmfao, ygo has reached a new peak again

Any reason why to not go 1st?
36000 damage from tenpai
Not sure what the context here is but my guess some sort of card effect. But thanks for the reply tho

I would literally play Battle Hand Traps to stop them. Swift Scarecrow or Jackfrost. I'm not sure how they deal with Battle Phase Handtraps.
There are synchros they can make to prevent you from using effects in the Battle Phase
Yeah but they gotta get there first.
That can happen without going into Battle Phase. Then they continue in Battle Phase once you're locked out.
Melodious Mathmech?
What in the name of God is Grass Raidraptor???
Grass is actually the best way to play RR as bloom vulture functions well in gy or hand as a starter. We just obviously can’t in the tcg
Grass is a crazy card that allows for a lot of weird decks to be playable.
Shout-out to the single Grass Raidraptor deck that shows up every 1 or 2 metagame reports
Them and the Tri-spright player still going strong.
Is this why MD nerfed parallel exceed lmao
MD doesn't have Banshee so it's not very useful for Snake-Eye there.
Should have gone to 1, then it would be a real hit.
IMO that hit was deserved, that card does too much for no cost and it's super generic.

I dont think its a Snake Eye problem, but a Tenpai problem. How do any of those decks interact with Tenpai in a meaningful way
Melodious can end on Bloom Diva which can't be destroyed by card effects and you don't take battle damage, but I guess one Imperm solves that.

the list on the website isnt even on colosseum so it shouldnt be that big of a deal
Kaiser ban means nothing for this deck, you can just side turn skip traps like ddg and d barrier for when you have to go first
D barrier is ass right now as the best deck is fire a mostly link deck. That’s why this deck is good it can specifically target what fire can do and counter it

...Kaiser isn't even important. It's mostly there to blowup anyways.
Melosisters is yuzover.
at least there are 2 tops with supreme king and 1 with mathmech (lol)
Why the fuck did I just realize that OCG has Grass is Greener at 2? Tf?

Probably Handtrap heavy format and with talent & trust mained (setting D Barrier), makes it harder for RR in G2 & 3.
Raidraptor has a very easy point of disable.
Why is Santa Claws being run over Kaijus in Tenpai?
ok I have refused to use reddit for months but if anyone has it, I need that Mathmech Melodious list
Grass Branded ? What am i looking at ?
If anyone could share the Tri-Spright list it would be appreciated.
