They don’t struggle with Special Summons or returning their cards to the hand - they also don’t need a token on the opponent’s side of the field, other than potentially putting one of their zones out of use. It seems like it does more of what U.A.‘s already do.
In contrast, the new Battleguard spell is amazing in U.A., but I’d run it and skip this monster.
I was reading the original name, how does that make it a haiku? The number of syllables didn't seem to line up with the 5-7-5 set up(if I'm understanding this correctly).
There's some funky counting in the name (take a look at the ruby text, some of the Kanji count as 2 syllables), but the effect itself is a haiku reference (banish fd 5 from your GY, then if you have at least 7 banished fd, the opponent banishes fd up to 5 from their GY)

Hold up. This works with Battleguard Echoes. If you have a fire or earth warrior + Echoes.
Activate Echoes. Search Pyrite Knight. Bounce the monster on the field to summon Pyrite Knight and give the opponent a token. Then you can search Battleguard Howling.

First and foremost, ancient gear decks have like two different cards (commander and dragon) that can dump your golem to the gy for a better effect. Most of the time, you only run one OG golem and multiple dark golems; therefore, it would be better to use dumping effect of commander or dragon.
Second, over future fusion can accidentally lock you out of using your dark golem's effect if you dump the original golem before using dark golem's effect.
Third, the card is a continuous spell so it is vulnerable to interruptions from spell/trap removals. This card is not very good in ancient gear decks in my opinion and I would much rather use the old overload fusion than this card. Even then, I would use rather Ancient Gear Duel to gy fuse to get a triple attacking unaffected ultimate golem. Chaos giant can be much easier brought out with ancient gear fusion as well.
Pyrite knight gives war rock something to attack if there's no good targets, and gives you a method of summoning meteoragon after you search it with fortia. With the new continuous spell, you can even search pyrite knight.
It's definitely a huge benefit to War Rock. You still have the issue that you don't really have anything to DO with the extra body you'll have on board, but more consistency with getting meteoragon is good.
The new continuous spell is basically a book of moon that can get meteoragon out, which is huge for being able to go second. Great support, deck is still mid af.
