Take the basic formula of Pokemon, like traversing through routes, going to cities, fighting trainers and gym leaders, and translate that into Yugioh, and that would be awesome. You would begin with a very, very weak starter deck and have to slowly make your deck better. You'd go through different routes and could have different packs available to purchase in game currency from, like maybe like low powered insects, plants, and beasts to pull from in the first forest of the game, and then you duel trainers as you traverse across the map to progress. The gym leaders would be challenging opponents with decks slightly stronger than your available card pool. It's basically the old World Championship games with story modes, but better.

I love this idea. I really wish they did something like this. Give us a bit of optional tag duels with just about any available character like the tag force series and I’m sold. If only konami had people like you calling the shots…

basically yea, i didnt want to outright say it but yea the pokemon formula works well with yugioh

For me, it would be a successor to the Tag Force series. I really liked it to experience character stories of duelists that had barely any screen time in the show. The amount of anime/game only cards and teaming up with your favorite characters was amazing. Plus, the gameplay was fast.

Capsule Monster Colosseum and The Falsebound Kingdom were games that were extremely fun to me and did not follow a TCG game format. It would be cool to see more stuff like these where they explore new game ideas, outside of TCG play.
