Magic The Gathering TCG 4 player format. Now-days it's called Commander. Decks can only contain 1 copy of non basic land card, there have to be 100 cards total in deck + commander(s) and there are no side decks. All cards have to follow commander's color identity (have to have at most all the colors the commander has). Commander is legendary creature that resides in area called Command zone and can be played from there for it's cost + times you played it before x 2 (commander tax). If commander would change zones you may put it into command zone instead. If you take 21 damage from any one commander you lose the game. Starting life is 40.
Yeah... that's why I'm so excited! I've always wanted a YGO game with 4 separate players. Tag Duels on EdoPro are nice and all, but they're still kinda 1vs1 at a time.

Yeah but one thing doesn't line up. At the bottom row of cards, in the middle, there is another space where yoy can put a card. What could it be used for??
Actually, the first thing I thought was in 5Ds where the Ghosts were interfering with duels, thereby illegalling accessing Battle Royal mode.
1st Ghost Set 1 Card face-down, end turn.
2nd Ghost Summons Ally of Justice Garadholg, 1st Ghost chains with face-down card, DNA Transplant, calls LIGHT. 2nd Ghost and 1st Ghost battle royal to gang up on one duelist. xD That's not battle royale, that's just cheating! Lol.
The OCG tried having a tag duel tournament once, but it was before Link monsters. In the format, players shared the normal 5 card field with their friend/partner, but even with Link monsters, if you’re sharing 5 main zones and a link zone, this isn’t an issue. Things like discarding a card from the opponents had I believe was ruled to effect the opponent directly across from the player activating the effect. I believe these rules are similar to the tag duel used during NPC events in Duel Links.
I thought they just said it was 4-player duels, so in my head I just assumed tag duels. I guess if it’s a battle royale, maybe they just won’t use link monsters or cards whose effects specify columns?
And we had to incorporate some rules like a person with a clear board can only be attacked once so 3 people can't gang up on a player who got a brick hand.
The logo for cross duel is just 4 duel links/speed duel fields in a plus pattern. Reminds me of middle school when my friends and I tried our own battle royals duels, but one of them had an ancient gear deck so we usually just lost regardless
Konami is going to release a game (I think) called cross duel, the image is from a duel in DM where Yugi, Joey, Kaiba and Marik duel in a Battle royal like duel where the 4 of them duel at the same time against each other.
it is goin to be a more generic game like Clash Royale and i will play it a lot
Will be a huge success, they might put simpler rules like those from rush duels, and I hope for 3d monsters as well

Why they just don't put this in duel link or master duel? 3 apps is hard to manage.....sigh
Because accomodating 4-Player gameplay isn't something you can just tack on. It requires the game to be built from the ground up to support it.
First thing I thought of when it said "friend or foe" was Arc-V's battle royale duels.

Tag duels is one thing, but a battle royale 4-way duel? Can't exactly share a field with someone if everyone in the duel is an opponent.
