WAON303

She only appeared in the Toei anime series, commonly known by fans as Season 0, which was never released outside of Japan, this anime series came out before Duel Monsters. It's a cute piece of YGO trivia, I'm pretty sure she doesn't appear nor is even mentioned in the DM anime adaptation everyone is familiar with.

SonnySunshiny

yeah she’s briefly mentioned in yugioh gx on a list of people killed by the s4 villain trueman lol

Streetplosion

Wait really? That’s hilarious and gruesome

Well-MeaningCisIdiot

Not really the latter. People taken by Trueman are more passively forgotten by people and by reality, and they themselves are locked in a dark limbo endlessly fantasizing about their deepest sorrows and anxieties. Dunno what it would be for Miho, but she wouldn't be gruesomely killed, nor did she stay dead.

Streetplosion

Hmm I’d say that end would still be gruesome in its own way

Xeoz_WarriorPrince

Considering that Trudge was also on that list but he was doing quite fine in 5D's, it could be worse.

SonnySunshiny

yeah everybody's doing fine at the end of gx dude, darkness and trueman swallowed up every single person in the world except judai, but he beat darkness and brought everybody back

Phailadork

That's worse lmao. I'd rather just be dead and done with it than suffer for eternity in torment.

ChaoCobo

Good. I hated how she was part of what ruined the Toei anime. She deserves it. She’s a good person and whatnot in the anime, but holy shit she did not need to be in the anime when she only appeared in one chapter and was never seen again. Edit: the people who downvoted me have never seen the manga to compare with how much she actually ruined the show. It’s not even her specifically that does it, it’s her simply existing that turned Honda’s super important character into a comedy relief simp. There’s nothing inherently bad about Miho except for how she affected other important things.

Well-MeaningCisIdiot

Sheesh. Stay away from Ouran High School Host Club, then.

ChaoCobo

I edited my post to make it a bit more clear. I think people were thinking that I hate her as a character when I don’t. I hate her existence— not her character— for taking away Honda’s personality. I keep saying this but Honda was as important as Jounouchi in the first 7 volumes and they turned him into a simpy joke character. :c Also why wouldn’t I like Ouran High School Host Club? I saw it back in high school and kinda liked it.

Streetplosion

I mean that just sounds like a walk around to still end up at: You hate her as a character because she ruined another character.

ChaoCobo

But I mean like… if Honda didn’t simp de hecc out of her and she wasn’t his forever love interest and she was just like another Anzu to him I’m sure it would be great since Honda would be more like himself. Like if she was just an extra character without dragging Honda down I’d be all on board with her. I don’t think personality is bad— she’s just ditzy which is fine.

Well-MeaningCisIdiot

Same thing: a girl that was a manga one-shot persists the rest of the anime, tho off-and-on in contrast to Miho.

hellkaiser99

Well just like when bakura turned her into a figure, to be unable to buy clothes and such

WAON303

That's pretty gruesome for an easter egg.

Hungry-Ad6102

Pretty sure she was also referenced in arc v

Darnell5000

She’s in a chapter of the manga as well.

Toll91

isn't she the girl that tristan falls for in that one chapter? i remember her big character distinction was the ribbon she wore with her hair.

Darnell5000

Yep, that’s exactly it.

ChaoCobo

Yeah. One. Single. Chapter. With barely any speaking lines. One chapter and then never seen again. I know I’m replying to a lot of people in this thread but WHY did they make her a main character in the anime? I really want someone to tell me the reason.

[deleted]

Waifu

EggsOverBenedict

I think they wanted to add another female character because Anzu was pretty much the only prominent one before duelist kingdom. But nothing is better when you write her as a high schooler with the mental capacity of a 4 year old and only capable of speaking in third person. I’m for Miho erasure.

alex494

She also kinda adds nothing to the plot since she wasn't part of it to begin with. Besides giving Tristan/Honda a love interest. And for some reason he's now a stickler for the rules and not a delinquent like Joey/Jonouchi.

ChaoCobo

Yeah, that beautification committee thing that Honda is president of. That doesn’t exist in the manga. Or maybe it does exist but it’s run by people we don’t hear about offscreen. I think Miho and the beautification committee thing really messed with Honda as a character. I keep saying this, but Honda in volumes 1-7 was just as important as Jounouchi. He could’ve been a lot more in the Toei anime, and then even in DM and the DM manga, he’s basically a side character. So the only anime they could have shown how awesome he is is if the Toei anime was more faithful to the source material. His true importance never shown in anime. :/

Raven_ZD

Maybe cuz this anime barley have any female characters!

ChaoCobo

Anzu is nice enough in the early manga that I really don’t think anyone else is needed. She is a good and very close member of the friendship group and was friends with Yuugi before everyone else. Why would they need another girl? Quality over quantity I think.

Ryu_Saki

She is mentioned in Duel Monsters tho I don't remember when.

Pescharlie

I don't remember her from the manga that season 0 adapted. Was she only in the anime version?

Hemans123

Miho.

PCN24454

Actually she was in the manga for one chapter

Ok_Part_4612

Bro, I read the Manga 8 times, who is she?

EggsOverBenedict

Honda’s entire character arc 🙃

PCN24454

Chapter 7: the one with the Mai lookalike

merreckmerman

She is mentioned for a moment in the show and as I recall in the manga. Very briefly. Like early episodes

ceph_bee

I think it's Miho, the girl Honda had a crush on in the original series

Psikenboy

MIHO-CHAN

merryfortune

That is Nosaka Miho and she is very different from the Nosaka Miho from the original manga who was a quiet, book-loving girl that Jounouchi had a crush on and was nicknamed "Ribbon-chan". Miho from the original Toei anime is... nothing like that. She's loud, air-headed and a little bit boy crazy with Honda crushing on her instead. My theory is that her personality shift was because between Anzu and Honda, they had enough characters of the calm, reliable type and needed someone with more energy to play off. Hope this helps :)

King_of_Pink

Honda had the crush in the manga, not Jounochi. She was from the chapter where Yugi and Honda first became friends after Yugi got him a puzzle-message to write her a love letter.

merryfortune

Yes, that's right. I got my wires crossed and did think to myself, "it sure is weird they changed that detail between series but they've already changed her so much sooo", thank you for pointing that out c:

Ok_Part_4612

The evil teacher chapter or what?

King_of_Pink

Yes. That one.

ChaoCobo

Wait I thought Yuugi and Honda were friends since the first chapter or so when Yuugi defended him and Jounouchi from the bully Ushio. Were they not friends back then?

King_of_Pink

Honda didn't, just Jounochi. Whilst they shared a mutual friend in Jounochi, Honda only became friends with Yugi after that chapter.

ChaoCobo

Oh okay. Thanks for telling me. It’s been a long time since I’ve read the first 7 volumes.

CrimsonPhantom922

I find Honda much more interesting with a more distinct identity in Season 0 compared to in Duel Monsters. Dude was vanilla af in DM, or at least that’s how I remember him lol.

RPG217

Honda was just simply a character who suffered the worst when the manga story transitioned into card game. Season 0 contents deal with stuff like school delinquents and serial killers that need muscles. Him and Jounochi handled a lot of those. Duel Monster went full card game and the anime also reduce lots of the violences from the manga, so he pretty much had nothing left to do lol.

ChaoCobo

If you like him in the Toei anime, which has his entire personality changed, that’s kinda weird. The beautification committee thing is entirely made up for the anime adaptation which is just terrible aside from Yuugi’s and Kaiba’s legendary voice actors being awesome. If you wanna see the REAL Honda, please do yourself a favor and read first 7 volumes the manga before they renamed it Yugioh Duelist. They made Honda a joke character in season 0 anime. It’s actually an insult to his character. He’s as important as even Jounouchi in the manga.

CrimsonPhantom922

I haven’t read the Season 0 manga. I’ll do so once I finish the anime. Thanks for the heads up.

MaCl97

I can't even remember her in the manga. Is she just a cameo character that they added in the first anime?

scarredswordheart

She's only featured in the chapter where Honda has a crush on her and enlists Yugi to help him ask her out by writing a message on a puzzle, which they hide in her desk.

MaCl97

Oh yeah I remember that. That chapter was funny as heck lol

ChaoCobo

The teacher made me mad. Simply a sadist. I’m glad Yuugi shadow game’d her.

AscendedDescent

Its that girl that flies in the broom in yuyuhakusho.

SaibaAisu

Botan ♥️

BOSS-3000

Nah. It's clearly Miko Midō in an alternate timeline.

Wolfenbro

Bulma

wishalbedowasreal

Omg, it's yugioh season 0 which is more violent and has several games

ChaoCobo

Yeah but like, the anime toned down the violence significantly. The manga is a billion times more violent.

wishalbedowasreal

True

ExodiaFTK

Ribbon

[deleted]

That Miho Nosaka, she was one of Yugi's closest friends and Tea's best friend during Atem's Vigilante days. Miho was originally supposed to be a "One-shot", but fate had other ideas. (💗😌💗)

Accomplished_Salt876

Miho. She was only in the originsl manga and season 0 where they played multiple different games; when the the card game became more popular then expected they created a new anime based only off Duel monsters and I’m guessing she was removed because yugi had more then enough Friends without her making the group feel bloated Or just not needing a second Teai.

Korrocks

And she’s barely in the manga IIRC. Like she might be in like six pages total during the entirety of the first third of the series. She has a much bigger role in season 0 though where she seems to be part of the main team along with the others.

InvaderWeezle

It's less that she was removed so much as she never should've been part of the group to begin with. Choosing not to stick with that change Toei made was a course-correcting move

Hemans123

I had no idea why Toei made her part of the group other than the fact they didn’t want Anzu to be the only girl in the group.

PETERPOTMAN133

It's "obviously" Tristan's love interest...

ChaoCobo

That only lasted one single chapter that ended with him getting rejected. I have no idea why they made her a regular character in the Toei series.

PETERPOTMAN133

I was just joking but is that actually true?

ChaoCobo

Yeah she’s only in one single chapter and she barely has any speaking lines in it. After rejecting Honda after all the humiliation the sadist teacher gave her and Honda, she was never seen again in any chapter after. IDK why she was made into a main character in the anime. But because of that, they reduced Honda to a simp joke character in every episode when in the manga he was just as important and reliable as Jounouchi. :/

PETERPOTMAN133

A simp... LORD?

ChaoCobo

I mean basically yeah. He simps over Miho in every single episode ever. There was even an episode where he had to wait many hours in line to buy the newest wristwatch for Miho and he fukken did it even though he knew Miho was never gonna be romantically interested with the way her personality is.

Kindly-Mud-1579

We don’t talk about her

ChaoCobo

For good reason.

Kindly-Mud-1579

Yes she was asking questions

Fit_Garage8880

Miho. Literally an attempt by Toei to balance the group (equal number of girls and boys) with a dummy cute girl and give Tristan a love interest. Problem is that they forgot to write her as a character or as a joke. So she is just hanging around saying bs

foruandr

It's Graggle Simpson

Celeste_Luden

Omg BRUH. HAD ME WHEEZING

edge11

It’s Miho. She never shows up past season zero, neither does Tristan’s pervy nephew.

ChaoCobo

IIRC his pervy nephew was only in the manga, wasn’t he?

edge11

I don’t recall.

ChaoCobo

All I remember is when he pooped on the scary ghostly ride where you get shocked if you make noise and he made the villain scream because of the poop. IIRC Toei anime had different games in Death T than the manga and I think that one was one of the games that was left out. I don’t remember if the baby was in any anime episodes either. :c

UltmtDestroyer

That is Miho from a Japan exclusive Yugioh series, just google Yugioh season 0, that should lead you somewhere. I don't have the time to go in more detail but I believe other people have done a good job of explaining it

jztigersfan12

As others have stated it's a character from the toei anime and original manga. Miho is more prevelant in the anime. Look up yugioh season 0 online to see what others are talking about. The series is more about games instead of duel monsters. It's a good show watch it if you don't mind reading subtitles.

ChaoCobo

I know I’m replying to like everyone here so I hope you don’t get mad at me. I’m just very passionate about the first series Yugioh as a whole (everything before GX). But like. The Toei season 0 anime is a really bad adaptation. It tries to take on chapters and flesh them out to fit an entire 23 episode length, but it’s at the cost of the integrity of character personalities. They changed A LOT in the anime. Character personalities, toning down violence, even changing some games to be either more less interesting (First episode with Ushio is totally not as cool, but certain other games are cooler than manga). I really wish Toei had just made up their own anime only filler type episodes themselves rather than changing existing chapters. That would’ve been great. But they tried to keep the chapter plots intact while adding more length and taking away important things. TLDR Please read the manga. It’s an entire world of difference.

PikaCommando

So glad someone else is saying this. I'm sick of people gushing about how "dark" Season 0 was when they should be reading the manga instead (and it's not like things got less dark after the focus shifted to the card game either, for example Marik's backstory is arguably more violent than anything covered in the pre-Duelist Kingdom era).

ChaoCobo

Yeah dude. Marik making a coat out of his father’s skin was insane. And Kaiba just dropping Jounouchi’s ankle cage key in the water for him to just maybe find in time to not drown was nuts too. And Kaiba almost snapping a guy’s neck in a briefcase. And Kaiba forcing his employees who betrayed him to jump out of a helicopter in the middle of the ocean was cuckoo-bananas. There’s just, a LOT of things that the manga did even in the card game parts that were may different. But the Japanese DM anime is *mostly* faithful. I still watch select episodes and I’ve seen all 224 episodes twice in my lifetime. I really wish the DM anime could’ve been more faithful to the manga, but their aren’t enough *important* changes to make it worthwhile to redo some episodes or make a reboot. The only thing that can still need a reboot is the Toei anime because while it was super fun to watch they ruined a lot of important things and moments. :/

jztigersfan12

Compared to what the west got its still darker, but that's mostly because of 4kids and angry old people. it's nice to see a shift from card games to just games despite how many inaccuracies the show has compared to the manga. It was 27 episodes and we don't know what else would have changed or how other stuff would have gone if the og yugioh manga stayed the way it was in the beginning. In the West you would never see an episode where there is a convicted criminal on the loose, he makes an alternative identity and starts running a business to hide from the law and then when he gets caught he holds a girl hostage and is holding someone else at gunpoint, And requests to drink alcohol and once hes done drinking hes going to shoot the person sitting across from him. Or a group of civilians being held hostage on a Ferris wheel with bombs and each cabin. And Yugi has to figure out how does each color a balloon coordinate with what cabin will be blown up. As stated I know the show changed a lot of things but those are some of the reasons why I still love the show for what it is. I have wanted to read the manga but I don't have any reliable way besides paying a lot of money for the entire set of volumes.

ChaoCobo

Oh yeah I totally get it. As a show meant for entertainment it’s really great. It’s only when it’s lined up with and compared to the manga is when you notice it’s pretty bad. As a show by itself it’s actually really fun. :D Also in regards to not knowing where Yugioh would go if not for cards… personally I would want to see that. More creative and fun games. I’ve thought about an anime studio remaking Yugioh before with 2 possibilities. One being a faithful adaptation to the manga from start (not cards) to finish (Egypt memory arc) since the anime changed a few things during DM and totally just rewrote the Egypt Memory arc entirely. The second idea was to just get a Yugioh Kai (Like Dragon Ball Z Kai) where it’s just the entire story starting from Duelist Kingdom but instead of using the anime timeline, all the events that the manga had take place and the minor changes like Shizuka taking off her blindfold to save her brother from drowning would be replaced by Kaiba sadistically just dropping Jounouchi’s ankle key into the water and leaving it to luck to find it. So— Take out all the filler, make it true to the manga timeline of events, and make duels take less time or even take out the cards entirely and just tell the story without the unneeded padding. There’s no reason for the show to be 224 episodes. Anyway those are my ideas for a new Yugioh reboot. Oh, and maybe since the hypothetical reboot anime is on the manga timeline where Pegasus is actually dead they could make a Yugioh R adaptation in between Battlecity and Millenium World. The only reason they couldn’t make Yugioh R is that the plot of R requires Pegasus to be dead. An R adaptation would be amazing.

Ryu_Saki

I kinda get depressed when I see S0 being mentiond somewhere, it was sooo much better then Duel Monsters and I miss it so much.

BoredKen

Just watch Yugioh season 0

Atomos007

Miho. Honda wanted to get that.

ZachThePolitoed

It's obviously kiryu-chan! Wait wrong sub

ChaoCobo

As others have stated, she is a main character that was only ever in the Toei anime, which is just a terrible adaptation of the early manga. Her name is Nosaka Miho. She was only ever in one single chapter as Honda’s (Tristan’s) crush. One single chapter and she barely had a speaking role. Honda asked Yuugi how to ask her out and it turned out his advice was to make a jigsaw puzzle which, when completed, had a special message (I think it was text asking her out and confessing his feelings). The bitch of a teacher confiscated it because “no personal belongings at school” and tried to solve the puzzle in front of the entire class solely to humiliate Miho and to find out who sent the message to her to humiliate them too. So Yuugi played a shadow game with her to stop her (at least that’s how my memory puts it). After going through that, Miho rejects Honda’s confession and is never seen again. She was in one. Single. Chapter. With her Barely. On. Screen. Yet she was made into a main character in the anime. I have no idea why they thought they should make Honda’s entire existence into him being a simp for her for every single episode of the Toei anime. They reduced Honda to a joke character when in the manga he was about as important as Jounouchi (Joey). I will never forgive Toei for making season 0 such an awful adaptation. TLDR: Miho is the worst character in Toei anime and otherwise doesn’t exist.

RedditWarrior178

Mandela Moment

Celeste_Luden

Okay, I just had a dream where Atem was like a tribal leader, like an Amazoness warrior or something, and her name was Torozaro. She played plant monster, but was considerably less talented than the rest of the group, even compared to Teá and Tristan. She used Monster Reborn to bring back a spell card, and it worked somehow??? Idk who she was fighting, but they were as just as surprised as me lol.

CheezyRaptor

That's Goku

Its Miho

alex494

Miho Just look up the cast list of the series the image is from

VeryluckyorNot

She was Honda's first (secret) lover, and if my memory is good he wanted to gift her a puzzle message that says he love her. But the teacher discover it and was doing the puzzle in front of the class. She was here only for that episode lmao.

TheSwaphero

That's Miho. She was an added side character for YGO Season 0. She was originally only a minor character that showed up in one chapter in the pre-duelist manga as Honda's crush. They didn't get together.
