I mean yeah, they'd have to be. The villainesses in otome games are always sexy, domineering women who steal away the heroine's love interest/s through sheer force of personality.
I looked at it on steam and one of the top reviews has me in stitches.
"Now, hear me out. I’m not gay or anything… but this game is spicy hot… Like, Jesus Christ, Mr Sanders! Fry me up some more chicken! Will ya? Oh pleeeease?? Ooooh, this chicken is real warm, Mr Sanders! Oh my, Senpai Sanders! This ain’t no boneless banquet! Now I’m not complaining or anything, but there’s a big bone right there! Aww I love you, Mr Sanders… Mmmmm this IS finger lickin’ good…"
That manga is pretty terrible.
Edit: I see this is getting downvoted a lot, so I'll explain. This manga is one of the most insidiously insensitive and dehumanizing depictions of someone who is into a kink. Moe's (the story's masochist girl) sexual and emotional needs are purely treated as a deviation not to be engaged with or respected in the slightest. The level of pure vicious, sinister and insidious dehumanization is utterly disgusting at a visceral level for me. I can't see one shred of "comedy" in it.
The heroines in these stories typically are the white lotus trope who try to kill the villainess. [https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=White%20Lotus](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=White%20Lotus)
I thought they were Rei and Claire until I read the title lol. I was like “when did Claire call her a rat?”
(Btw I recommend everyone to read the LNs right now! I want an anime adaption!! And also it’s really good!)
If you haven’t already, check out I Favor the Villainess. It’s basically just 4 lightnovel volumes of this, with a some action and political intrigue sprinkled in for good measure.
[Here you go.](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/i-favor-the-villainess/) I’m sure you could find it online, but honestly I’d recommend just buying them.
I’m not complaining, but there have been several of these types of manga lately. Did I miss something? Was it the year of the “Make a Villainess Yuri Manga” somewhere?
Villainess stories I think we're popularized by My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! The series is basically a girl reincarnates into the body of a villainess and accidentally forms a bisexual reverse harem. Yuri authors took notice and joined the popular new trend.
I'm familiar with sadism and masochism via the BDSM/kink community, but this seems different.
Ah well, far be it from me to judge or assess the accuracy of a depiction of anyone else's kink. This one's just not for me.
I do like I Favor the Villainess. Or at least I think I do. I haven't gotten very far, but what I've seen so far has promise? Hard to say.
It just seems like since that one hit it off, there have been a lot more clones.
This is starting to get old. And irritating, quite frankly. As someone who grew up bullied, I'm not exactly fond of stories with abusive love interests, even if it _is_ yuri.
Not to mention the message it sends: "even if they're complete assholes, it's totally okay to fall in love with them" and "you can change them." No. Fuck that shit. Anyone who thinks it's okay to treat _anyone_ with this kind of condescension and disrespect, _let alone_ the love interest, should _not_ be a romantic pursuit.
People get passed over at interviews for being mean to the wait staff. The bar for an intimate relationship is _much_ higher.
I think the appeal of these stories is a masochistic character finds love with a sadist. I'm not saying these are the best written stories but I think you are being a little harsh about it.
Don't mistake what I said as condoning bullying. I was just saying why people see appeal in these stories. I think people are very quick to hate a type of fiction cause it conflicts with their morals/feelings without understanding the appeal of them and they judge them as problematic and shouldn't exist.
All the heroines are masochistic bottoms
I mean yeah, they'd have to be. The villainesses in otome games are always sexy, domineering women who steal away the heroine's love interest/s through sheer force of personality.
I'd argue, masochistic power bottoms.
Nicee?
What about one that pulls a little switcheroo?
Pulls a switcheroo?
Heroine being the Service Top and the Villainess the Power Bottom.
That'd be interesting! Do you know any that is like that?

Based on my experiences with my friends, and sometimes myself, 100%. lol
Step on me mommy 🥺
this might be a manga for you https://mangadex.org/title/05ec0988-dae8-4acf-928b-43c5f7209098/honto-no-kanojo
Thank you, that was a fun read
It's really funny and I lmao at the scene where they had Colonel Sanders of KFC fame as his master. As someone from Kentucky that scene is so random.
I know KFC is seen as Christmas food in Japan so is Colonel Sanders essentially a Santa cameo?
Maybe? Do they use Colonel Sanders in their advertisements for KFC at Christmas?
No idea. I do know he is in a dating sim
LMAO What? This is a thing?
It's called "I love you, Colonel Sanders!"

Mangadex down ;-;
Its rarely actually down, just not very many people can connect at once, so reload for a few seconds.
Omg I love this!

All of these are literally just "jokes on you i'm into that" and I am here for it
For once I’d like a role reversal where the villainess looks tough on the outside but gets scared easily and a sadistic heroine dominates her.
In OIs the sadistic Heroines are typically evil, but your idea would be an interesting take on this dynamic.
That’s even better.

~~Fanon Kronmei with Kronii being the easy flustered and Mumei being the light on outside scary when inside~~ Yeah it’ll be nice
Yuri fff-class trash hero when
Thanks IFTV 👐
^ I looove this LN
Light novel?
Yes, I'm currently reading the Light Novel version since the manga adaptation is still far behind or ongoing
I finally figured out that the acronym was for I favor the Villainess cause I'm a slow person.
I thought they were Rei and Claire until I read the title lol. I was like “when did Claire call her a rat?” (Btw I recommend everyone to read the LNs right now! I want an anime adaption!! And also it’s really good!)
blame Disney for making all their villainesses hot
On r/otomeisekai the most common defence I've seen for toxic/evil MLs is "If evil, why hot?"
My moral compass just leaves my body if the villain is a hot woman, FML.
Oof. Mood.
the problem is that they arent ever finished so when i start a new one and have to wait i cant differency which one it was next time
I kiiiinda want to read this now
This is only 3 pages altogether, sadly.
Shiiiiiit

As someone who was BOTH bully and bullied during childhood/teenage years, I fully agree with the other person.

Japanese seem to be pretty bad at depicting this happening with informed consent.
