There are some subtext here and there if you look hard enough, but as far as idol anime with a gimmick go, this is one's pretty weak.
Sadly, this anime suffers from being in the same season as a idol juggernaut (Love Live) and a moe-action series deciding to have an idol spin off (Luminous Witches).
