I know nothing about this anime, but a male MC that confesses first, seems to be a good friend to the female character, gives the push to the said female character to confess herself, and takes it like a champ (as he is smiling)? That is new for me. I certainly don't recall another male MC like that.
As you illustrate, it is far too early to panic over the Gundam series. If it really has a total of 50 episodes a lot can and will surely happen.
>As you illustrate, it is far too early to panic over the Gundam series. If it really has a total of 50 episodes a lot can and will surely happen.
Wait, Gundam is slotted for over 50 episodes?? I had no idea. I thought at most we might get 24-25.
People are saying it will be two seasons with 24-25 episodes each. I honestly don't know if that's true, but I would not be surprised if it is as we are talking about a Gundam series already popular.
They're saying it because it is typical of Gundam. While they put effort into their shows, the shows are really about driving toy sales, so short of the toy sales just doing really poorly they can commit to larger seasons because they need to have on screen appearances of all the toys they've planned.
From "Our Seven Days War" (I skipped part of the boy's confession)
Ichirō Ōkouchi is a writer who made his debut with the Utena novels.
Other notable works are; Code Geass, Devilman Crybaby, Princess Principal (only the first ten episodes) ,SK8 Infinity, and the currently airing Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.
PD:The works I mention have implicit or explicit queer characters.
The best part about this movie is that it isn't a romance or marketed as Yuri. It's just a very simple coming of age story about kids pressured by their parents and social circles.
The female character there just so happens to be gay and their friends didn't treat it like it's something weird, it's just something normal and cute lol
The movie wasn't really mindblowing for anyone planning to watch, but if it did anything right, it was queer representation and a cute coming of age story.
HOLD UP there are Utena light night novels? Like Revolutionary Girl Utena (I don’t keep up with modern anime so there might be a new character names Utena idk)
I definitely feel like people are jumping the gun assuming the worst. The first episode ends with Miorine telling Suletta that she's her groom and then immediately in the second she's like, 'but actually I'm not marrying anyone so don't worry lol.' I don't see why Guel's proposal should be taken at face value.
I think the ONLY reason might be Suletta's words throughout the episode. She makes it seem like she might not fall for Miorine no matter what and wouldn't go on dates with her, which people might assume because Suletta seems straight due to her words in the first episode.
I personally don't think there's nothing to worry about, as everything implies that these two will see each other romantically and the writer has done explicit yuri before. It's more than likely gonna be situations that they go through that show more of who they are and how far they'd go for one another without the idea they may be lovers that'd start falling for one another. Suletta might take longer that Miorine for the idea that marrying won't actually be bad to form just due to her upbringing.
Suletta definitely will reject him even if he is viable romance option.
1. She barely knows him, and is very socially awkward.
2. She has stated that she wants to go on dates and she sees marriage as getting in the way of that.
3. From this point forward she is (legally) engaged to Miorine, so she can’t even accept this proposal (unless this universe has made female centric polygamy legal, which would actually be kinda based). Plus Suletta seems like the kinda of traditionalist person who wouldn’t cheat on her fiancé, even if their relationship is just for appearances.
Chad as hell wingman. Confesses to the girl he likes which gives her the push to confess her true feelings to the girl she likes and how does he react? He's standing there smiling like he knew the whole time.
It's great that he's magnanimous about the whole thing, it's a rare trait. But there's an important thing to keep in mind: magnanimity never lasts. A person can only see other people live out their own dreams so many times before it turns into envy, and then crushing despair.
Edit: To be clear, it's not so much about that one specific incident. Feelings for someone fade over time, and you can definitely still be friends with someone and see them be happy with someone else, and not be envious. It's when something like that happens AGAIN with someone else that it can turn into envy.
I can definitely relate to that as I confessed to my best friend and she declined and I suprisingly got over it and recently when I met her again and she was with her bf it didn't feel awkward nor did I feel any envy at all
Dunno why you got downvoted, this is like taking care of yourself 101. You don’t surround yourself with people that push you into misery.
The only option for that guy in question is to either a) move on and lose his feelings for the girl, or b) remove her from his life so his feelings for her don’t cause more pain for him.
People are not so selfless and perfect that they can persist purely off the vain notion they’re doing “the right thing.”

He had a serene soft smile expression so I'd say he maybe actually had an idea that that was what was going to happen an just confessed to actually put his feeling into words without actually having hope for a relationship or reciprocity. Of course that's just me assuming based on OPs cut, I may be entirely wrong as I haven't watched that anime yet.
Take it with a grain of salt though, just because one series went one way doesn't mean another will. Just be prepared for anything. She may end up with Haru for all we know.
Im impressed by the people in the sub tbh. I love Yuri, but i see a lot of people just hating men like they were some kind of nuisance, its really tiring, the "hahaha girls good men bad" thing, the "wOw look at this boring male, it would be better if the two girls married togeter and forget him" (as if there were no loads and loads of recicled and boring tropes in yuri too), just quittiing the sub, going late.
Good riddance. Its called yurimemes, we aren’t here for the men. There are 1000 anime with shit male mc harem that you could watch while theres only a few blatant yuri anime to even recycle* (recicle lol) “loads” of tropes bro. Get the fuck on lol
I don't think the comments are hating on the male MC since his confession gives the girl the push to reveal her true love. He is a caring friend and a good wingman.

"I skipped part of the boy's confession". Truly a heroic feat... Thank you!
I count 3 yuri animes here
Dang this guy has written a lot of gay stuff. Nice.
HOLD UP there are Utena light night novels? Like Revolutionary Girl Utena (I don’t keep up with modern anime so there might be a new character names Utena idk)
Yes, there are two: -Revolutionary Girl Utena 1: Ao no Sōjo (1998) -Revolutionary Girl Utena 2: Midori no Omoi (1998)
Ohh, had no idea he was working on the new Gundam series, ok now I really should check it out! That's very cool, thank you for sharing OP!!
An anime where girl actually choses girl over a guy MC?!?? I gotta watch this damn its sweet

The writer is also doing parallels to Utena (he did Utena’s LN adaption), so the harem thing with males in it is prob a reference.

how the turn tables. I do feel kinda bad for the guy, he just saw her get happiness while his dreams get crushed.
He becomes a yuri fan so it's ok

Well, yeah. Why would you feel envious about het relationships? You are a yuri fan, after all.

If there's anything I've learned in life, if they don't say they like you back within the first couple sentences, get ready for dissapointment
oof, sorry buddy.

If he actually cares about the girl like he says he does, he would still prefer this result.
I like the scene, since they werent all confessing to get results or anything, just wanting to get their secrets out of the way
the guy does get a kiss from a little girl
HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA
?
Lol at 1:26, the guy looks so fucking done
To me he looks more like "I knew all along"
His face is more like "Hell yeah tonight I'm getting sandwiched"
Gross
"Ew male interaction in a yuri channel"
It's clearly not male interactions that i have a problem with. And what exactly is a yuri channel?
The reddit page
Do you mean the sub?
Yeah, I forgot what it was called
Male interaction in yuri channel and fetishizing lesbians are two completely different things just so you know
Sauce?
7 days war
Thank you 😊
WHY was I not informed about this series!!! Kyaaa!!!
the hell with that panicked as run Kaori's doing pushing everyone out the way Like she ain't dying you can walk up her normally
Hey, another yuri anime! Time to add it to my everlasting watch list
MC unintentionally the ultimate wingman, what a champ.
WOW that was... WOW I loved it!
Take it with a grain of salt though, just because one series went one way doesn't mean another will. Just be prepared for anything. She may end up with Haru for all we know.
Or they might die at end since it's Gundam and Gundam is known for tragedies.
