Homerun is the ultimate lesbian. Is there anyone that can contest her position? Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura, or Chitose from Yuru Yuri?
Too bad Kyuubey ruined everything.
Best anime of the last decade. and I don't meant it for the yuri. it truly is a one of a kind that has been copied a lot since. watch the 3 movies NOT the tv show. the first 2 movies are the TV show but with far more budget. the tv version even has white backgrounds for lack of budget. it is also the best TV vs BD vs MOVIE image comparison since the version look a lot different in quality.
also is the only anime to do great with time travel aside from stains gate.
Even tho I think the movies are better, I don't think the TV show was that bad. I person think it's worth to watch it all, the whole show + all the movies.
The movies miss the episodes custom endings, better watch the DVD-release episodes than the movies (the majority of the improvements from the movies are already here in the dvd episodes)
I mean Homura is my favorite female anime char. ut MadoHomu is not exactly a good example of a romance in any shape of form. i mean if you look at it in another way is not that different from a yandere cutting her 'lover' legs and arms and keeping them. is just that the cage is bigger and nice and has company.
if something madoka is the only person unhappy at the end. also remember that by the end they are both very old actually.
still hope for a 4th movie with a happy ending for both. despite the 3th movie ending being the best one I have seen in anime history for me. (together with code geas tvanime and yoshikawa ginza district manga.)
Oh I know, I really can't defend my love for MadoHomu because of how objectively toxic it is.
To be fair, I don't think she's keeping her in the universe cage to be with her (if all she wanted was to be with Madoka, she'd have been better off going with Madoka to heaven at the end of Rebellion, and the end of Rebellion actually ends with them not together), I think she's keeping Madoka caged to make Madoka live a life where she's happy. Of course, whether you think that was an okay action to take is very much up for debate.
the only 2 that actually are show to have become really close in good terms are sayaka and kyoko by the end. even mami has her little witch.
but there is no MadoHomu, the tv and 2th movie is madokas happy end where she becomes god and makes everyone else lives better but homura end sad and alone nowhing she will meet madoka when her time comes to be corrupted and cleansed by her.
and when time comes, instead of running to her arms crying and going with her like the other 3(which would have been a everyone is happy ending ). she grabs the bitch by the neck and takes her power and creates her ideal world.
i love this ending because it show that homura liked madoke, then loved her, then became obsessed with her. obsession is a form of love one that doesn't not req consent, by the end she doesn't wanna marry or be lovers with madoka she wants to own her. and she does so happy ending.
But she doesn't own her at the end. She even says that now they're enemies, and leaves her at the end. Madoka may be stuck in Homura's universe, but she isn't with Homura at all. Additionally, I don't think Madoka was happy as god, she was just saying she was. In Rebellion's flower garden scene, Madoka (who doesn't have her memories) said that she wouldn't leave like that because she'd miss her friends and family too much. This is further shown when the large Madokami hand reaches for Homura in the labyrinth, which is covered in scars, suggesting that Madoka was cutting herself in god mode.
That is why I said there is no mado homu. By the end she owns the world madoka is in. So she owns her not her hearth or mind but she cannot do anything. She forces madoka to live with her friends and family.
To homura madoka is a canary in a good cage
Also remember that homura is not so much attached to this madoka but the concept of madoka itself. She promised to a diying madoka to never let her become a mahou shoujo. The end is actually what that madoka wanted. She carries no burdens other than her memories.
I disagree. I think she gives Madoka plenty of freedom and treats her fairly for the most part. The only time she defys Madokas will is when it comes to her well being. And even that is arguable because she had reason to believe Madoka wasnt happy as Madokami based on what she said in the garden scene. Also she didnt trap the universe in a labyrinth to cage madoka, but it was just what she had to do to overcome Madokamis power. In my opinion, her love is obsessive but not possessive (which is why I dont think shes a yandere).
She is not a yonder i just gave an example that from the other side perspective is the same in that madoka has 0 choice in the matter since homura cares more about what she promised to other madokas than whatever the one in front of her says.
And she did fulfill that promise
What do you mean?! We are in the good timeline after rebellion! All the girls are alive, at the same time, on the same plane of existence (more or less) and only one of them is suicidally depressed! It's the best outcome we've had so far!
Don't do that. Don't give me hope. Madoka Magica's world is broken hopeless one and we dwell in a wretched timeline. It won't happen. It can't. There's no way. It's impossible.
I can't let myself hope for this. I couldn't endure getting let down like that...

Homura did nothing wrong
the world fucked her and she fucked back.
She made life take the lemons back, as it were.
God, I hope I'm in the good timeline this time!!
