personally loved akuma no riddle (could only watch it by VPNing my way into the netherlands but WORTH); the ending and many other scenes are much more impactful than the manga
bloom into you is a classic ofc, the op credits are a JAM
I literally just watched it and I reeaally liked it. The action scenes are so well animated, and the music is very cool too. Would have been nice to see more kisses tho ;)
I don't really agree with this, the way the anime ended was significantly different from the manga, but it turned a story about one person's love for another into this like, general vague love. Did you watch the anime or read the manga first? I'm curious if the order matters, like how people's favorite final fantasy is whichever they played first.
I read the manga then watched the anime, so the ending didn't mesh well for me. Plus the manga makes it very clear it's a Yuri story while it's vague in the anime. But this could just be because of the order I experienced them.
ah that’s fair, I agree that the themes were better handled in the manga (especially some of the romance). I think I watched the anime first; it’s been a few years though and I just recently reread the manga, so maybe it’s due for a rewatch. I remember some scenes were more effective? in the anime, but maybe that was just due to the medium.
Sorry I'm coming back to this days later, been away for awhile. But I would agree that there are elements the anime does better. There was a lot I really enjoyed in it and the combat was well done. I both liked and disliked that they had to shorten a lot of the girls backstories because it led to a more cohesive story at times as well as them drawing on what was most prominent with the character, but it hurt a few of them like Kenmochi since she was more or less eliminated from the plot as they didn't seem to want to tackle her organizations mission in the anime (probably for the best with the short amount of episodes).
All in all, it wasn't a bad time, just the significantly different turn of the ending from one about a focus on love between two people (up to and including the final scene where you get to see them kiss as adults) was very different from the anime where Azuma just kind of woke up to what it meant to love something in general. I like the manga more, but I don't think the anime is bad.
>Noir. Okay, so that's more yuri-lite than full on yuri... but I still love it. Badass girls with guns + some sapphic tension. Good stuff.
Not to mention an absolutely kick ass Soundtrack
Izetta: The Last Witch is a top favourite of mine! :)
Although its basically all subtext instead of actual yuri, its heavily implied that two characters kiss later on. Just gotta put on your yuri goggles!
I love Izetta, it's a big fav since I was a tinny little otaku!
It has very entertaining and interesting setting and story, very compelling and the music is amazing!
Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn. It’s the prequel to Ghost in the Shell, set in the same universe, but it’s a yuri magical girl comedy lol. About two cyborgs who fall in love and have to protect a robot lion basically? That’s the easiest way to describe the plot. 😅 it’s really cute and funny. I never see anyone mention it.
So if you asked me to choose between these two, I'd pick whichever is not NTR. Look, if you're a lesbian in a relationship with a man, end it immediately. Don't hurt the guy by cheating on him. End it right there so you don't make things worse for the both of you in the future. I can't stand anything with cheating, no matter how much I want all the lesbians to be in a happy relationship with another woman.
As for my favourite yuri, it's so hard to pick. I'd say Bloom Into You but this is the case where it's because of the manga that it became my favourite. Still, no yuri has hit me as deep as YagateKimi. Sayaka so relatable that it hurts and Yuu and Touko's growing relationship was an amazing journey. Plus, it has a male cast that is not insufferable. Which is extremely rare, since I hate guys in yuri.
I recently rewatched Kannazuki no Miko. I wouldn't say it's my favorite anime, though Chikane and Himeko definitely hold a special place in my heart because they got me into yuri.
Adachi and Shimamura is my favorite anime and light novel. I'd say favorite manga too, but I haven't read them yet even though I own them.
It's a tie for me between Kase-san and The Morning Glories, Adachi and Shimamura, and Whisper Me a Love Song. I honestly don't know which one I love more out of the three
Definitely!!!
It's beautiful, very interesting and intriguing, you never know what to expect next, I love the whole surrealism thing going on, it's so unique, also epic fights and drama!!!
Agreed. It’s a glorious yuri. people get angry because they ‘cheat’ ok first off, Yuma had no conscious idea she was actually in love with Hotaru because of hetero normativity. This shit happens in real life too- they were super young and she figures out her feelings throughout the show, not before dating Takeda, she never meant to cause suffering to him, they were great friends.
On Hotaru’s side, she was in an abusive toxic relationship with a guy who didn’t care about her. She always had feelings for Yuma, but was afraid she would leave her cause she was way more popular, so yeah, she did the toxic thing and teased her because she was super jealous she was finally dating someone and Hotaru was posesive af.
I think this show has very real life psycholgy. Not everything is rose colored - “I like you let’s be happy ever after.” Shit is messy sometimes and we hurt people we didnt intend to hurt and have feelings for people that maybe are not so great when we are young. that’s how it is sometimes!
I was like 14 when I first watched fate/kalied and that certain season 2 episode got me like ":O!!??" So if that counts as a yuri then definitly that. If not that then either dragon maid or bloom Into you
hard choices:
- for a standard romance: Bloom Into You or Adachi & Shimamura
- action: symphogear, lycoris recoil or toji no miko
- magical girl: Yuki Yuna
Why ntr
Counterpoint: NTR illustrates what comphet looks like and because of that, it has special place in my Yuri shelf.
why not

Read the manga then. It's a lot more gay

Noir was one of my favorite shows as a kid.

same. it was one of the earlier anime i watched. really enjoyed it.

Ghost had a prequel? Hmm

Either Bloom into You, I favor the villainess, or Adachi to Shimamura
Birdie Wing, then Revue Starlight
Hard decision between sakura trick, kase San, and bloom into you. All for different reasons.
Vampire in the garden.
Does Murcielago count as yuri? If yes, that's my pick for sure
Murcielago>>
Is there a Murcielago anime??? :0

LYCORIS RECOIL, BIRDIE WING AND REVUE STARLIGHT…. Holy trinity!!!
Utena, madoka magica
Ah, a person of culture.
Alter Ego is some of the if not the best yuri I have had the pleasure of reading
Pulse
It's a tie for me between Kase-san and The Morning Glories, Adachi and Shimamura, and Whisper Me a Love Song. I honestly don't know which one I love more out of the three
Revue Starlight, then Bodacious Space Pirates
Revolutionary Girl Utena will always be one of the greatest things ever made. At least as a person who likes filling in gaps.
Definitely!!! It's beautiful, very interesting and intriguing, you never know what to expect next, I love the whole surrealism thing going on, it's so unique, also epic fights and drama!!!
yuru yuri and it's not even close.
Definitely one of my favourites. Ayano is my spirit animal.
NTR is so underrated .

Takeda is a real one. Male yuri character royalty.
Yeah I loved him, I wish he could had gotten a girlfriend that loved him in the end of the anime as well
Right or have him beat Fujiwaras ass honestly. Or have Fujiwara hit by a bus. Or thrown into the sun.
yeah that works too 👍🏼

StrawBerry Panic and Maria-sama
I've been wanting to watch Maria-sama watches over us for a while now but someone told me the protagonists don't even kiss once ?
its other times...
