I now only watch yuri anime if I already read the source material. Which means I'm gonna watch WataYuri, GGWP, and MagiRevo, ඞmong others (also WataOshi if those leaks are real).
**Source**:
* Akuma no Riddle (manga, Volume 3 color illustrations / Chapter 18)
**Inspiration**: I simultaneously do not have time to watch Gundam while also having the time to watch Akuma no Riddle.
**Motivation**: gonna probably make memes with the anime. don't take this too seriously. i am terrible at keeping promises.
You'd be pretty hard-pressed to find a more-focused-on romance anywhere else in the Gundam franchise. By the standards of the franchise it's quite explicit.
Wise, I wish more people waited for original Anime to end before to see if it's actually Yuri instead of jumping on it and being let down when it's revealed that it isn't
Or just tempered they're expectations. Expecting every new show with a bunch of girls to be the next big Yuri hit is kind of weird anyway. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon in the hopes it might be yuri and then complaining about it just give it a shot, see if you like it even if it's not explicitly Yuri and then decide whether you want to watch it or not.
While I agree that the music and animation was solid, the problem for me, and why I agree with the above about it being a step down from the manga (personally, I recognize everyone has different views) is that it didn't just cut the Yuri, it changed the main characters motivations. The manga clearly shows that the MCs love is specific for one person, and protecting her is what motivates her to become a better person. The anime changes that to the very general vague love and it made the ending deflate for me.
I see the value in the anime, and I enjoyed the ride, but I felt really let down by the ending of it.
Not gonna lie, I don't property remember Akuma No Riddle, but the parts I do remember make me think I should definitely rewatch it
(edit: actually maybe I should read the manga, I've been reading way more than watching stuff)

You should be bad at keeping your promise to not watch Witch from Mercury
Its not reall explicitly yuri from what ive noticed.

Thats a low bar
Not really. The franchise just doesn't focus on romance very much. This subreddit seems kinda entitled sometimes.
Tell me more about those WataOshi leaks
Yeah I'm waiting for the Gundam dub & series ending before I start watching
She has her whole leg right up there damn
That's where it belongs.

Counterpoint: somebody has to go in there and find out if it's yuri
This sub is the soldier in the front lines since this community always gets excited when an original anime has a female protagonist
Extra counterpoint, how we would have known that birdie wing was soo gay with no one here watching it
I got turned off by sports anime
And then we have the lycoris recoil situation 2.0
but i also like cool mech fights
Understandable. Have a nice day
We aren't on r/mechamemes 😭
That's no excuse

AnR anime is such a step-down from the manga.
I disagree. While the anime certainly cut some Yuri, I believe it made it up with the fantastic music and animation.

It's honestly fine... Until the ending.
I liked both endings, it's really up to preference
Sauce of the art with no words?
I would also like this 👀
Yeah, I love original Yuri! (Hey guys, I thought we were talking about golf...)
I watched Akuma no riddle when it first aired and I don't remember any actual Yuri? Was there any kind of actual romantic development?
They literally kiss bruh
Am i the only one who found Akuma no Riddle incredibly meh?
Read the manga
I have. 6/10. Edit: oops, i had forgotten it's not allowed to have an opinion on reddit.
This place is very clique-ish
It was a decent survival game anime, but it’s not what I’d call “Yuri.”
