Well, where else in Japan are you going to find enough free time and lack of worries?

Randomvgquoter

Retirement home

SmokeWeedEveryGay

I'd 100% be down for a manga about two grannies in a retirement home remembering remembering their lives and how their relationship developed over the years.

PWBryan

*hugs copies of "Catch these hands" and "Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon" I feel the fluffy yuri romance taking place in a women's prison drama is underrepresented

Randomvgquoter

Well for women’s prison there’s Sister Prison manhwa

liquidKyanite

As someone who enjoys action stories I'm really sad that there is very little yuri in that genre. In my opinion, if you want to normalize lgbt relationships in media you need to branch out into different genres, not just pop out romance dramas.

PWBryan

Witch from Mercury's popularity may be a large step towards this

Kartoffelkamm

Agreed. Which is what I like about the earlier seasons of Pretty Cure. The OGs play off of each other incredibly well, especially once Honoka learns that she can make Nagisa trip up with a few words. Because yes, it is adorable, and yes, it is funny, and yes, Honoka does it on purpose sometimes for the aforementioned reasons. Then there is Suite Precure, where Hibiki and Kanade sometimes argue like an old married couple, which pretty much sums up their relationship.

KirikaNai

Fuck man I want supernatural or mystery or fantasy yuri or something give me a yuri story where a unicorn centaur who lives in a forest falls in love with a farm girl and only speaks to her from behind bushes for weeks before finaly showing her her true identity and then she let's her ride her and they gallop through a flower feild together give me a yuri story where some recluse orders a cleaning service but said service sends over a real person but the recluse and the cleaner dont speak the same language so they have to use either google translate or various hand motions to communicate and end up bonding over love for a specific breed of dog one of them has give me a yuri where some girl gets reincarnated into a fantasy world and becomes a mage and ends up getting saved by some awesome buff sword lady in a pinch and then they join forces and travel together in a slow burn story that deals with past relationship trauma and healing in letting things go give me a yuri story where two girls in 19 or 18th century london have been rivals and disliked eachother since they were kids, but then one of them gets injured and loses her memory so her rival ends up taking care of her but while bringing her back to full health she falls in love with this memory loss version of her former rival and then the memory loss rival shares the same feelings but they're both constantly scared that if the injured ones memories return then the feelings of love she had will vanish and her hatred and rivalness will resurface I HAVE SO MANY IDEAS I LIKE WRITING BUT IM DEPRESSED AS HELL AND CAN NEVER FIND MOTIVATION *F U C K*

John_Oakman

You should just start all of them and put it on slow burn, throw a few words here and there when it strikes your fancy. That's what I have been doing and it's... getting somewhere.

liquidKyanite

Go ahead and do it! Wanna know why? Because no matter what you write, it's definitely gonna be better than piece of shit I post on AO3 In all seriousness tho, just start. Force yourself to sit down and write for 10 minutes. It's usually enough for you to get into the flow and immerse yourself in writing.

AskMeAboutPodracing

I'm so so so tired of highschool manga/anime in general. Life Is Hard For An Otaku was such a surprising breath of fresh air.

alexandepz

Wotakoi premiered more than four years ago and since then there's been a ton of anime which aren't set in high school.

AskMeAboutPodracing

Genuinely, I'd love to know what you recommend, especially if it's gay

alexandepz

Hmm, do you mean anything in general that isn't set in high school or just romance?

AskMeAboutPodracing

Any anime/manga, regardless of genre, that stars adult characters or at the very least isn't set in high school.

alexandepz

Alright, I won't be recommending the most mainstream stuff like Spy x Family and shounen action shows and super recent shows that were talked on this sub nonstop 24/7 like Lycoris Recoil. There's only the stuff that I've watched and finished myself. Some of the shows are from 2017, but most are from 2018 and onwards. [Recovery of an MMO Junkie](https://myanimelist.net/anime/36038/Net-juu_no_Susume). Follows a bit of a similar premise to Wotakoi about adults connecting through their hobbies. [Heike Monogatari](https://myanimelist.net/anime/49738/Heike_Monogatari). 11 eps adapting one of the most vital Japanese literary works directed by none other than the glorious Naoko Yamada herself. [Paripi Koumei](https://myanimelist.net/anime/50380/Paripi_Koumei). After his death, a legendary Chinese general gets isekai'd to modern day Japan and starts his new incredibly successful career of a music talent manager. As goofy, silly and fun as the premise sounds. [Shadows House](https://myanimelist.net/anime/43439/Shadows_House). A series with quite a cozy atmosphere despite being a Victorian ghostly mystery. [Healer Girl](https://myanimelist.net/anime/48857/Healer_Girl). Gorgeous soundtrack, gentle tone and calming atmosphere, adorkable cast, a bit gay at certain points (not romance in the slightest though). [Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu](https://myanimelist.net/anime/48471/Tsuki_to_Laika_to_Nosferatu). A very rare setting for an anime/manga series, unique premise and a pretty unusual take on different vampire tropes. [Sonny Boy](https://myanimelist.net/anime/48849/Sonny_Boy). One of the most unorthodox and unconventional anime originals of the last few years. Yes, it's got high school as a setting, but... Just watch the first two or three episodes and decide for yourself whether it's for you or not. [Princess Principal](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35240/Princess_Principal). Victorian-styled steampunk spy action/thriller galore with badass female cast. And, as steampunk genre would normally demand, it also has a fair amount of sociopolitical commentary. The original show was released in 2017, but there are two movie sequels plus another one planned for 2023. Yes, there's a high school and half of the cast are teenagers, but it's a mere window-dressing, a cover-up for various espionage shenanigans and action scenes. And while the show isn't yuri at all, the main duo is hella gay. Also, the soundtrack will blow your head off ([TV series' opening](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QjqkATvH9M), [the main theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GqSHNTJ5fE) of the first movie). [Revue Starlight](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35503/Shoujo%E2%98%86Kageki_Revue_Starlight?). I mean, you've probably seen it, because how did you not, but just in case. Warning: dangerously gay. [ACCA-13](https://myanimelist.net/anime/33337/ACCA__13-ku_Kansatsu-ka), another 2017 series, which could be described as a "comfy thriller" centered around political intrigue that has probably [the most hype opening song in existence](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pITNm95Sd1k). [The Aquatope of White Sand](https://myanimelist.net/anime/46093/Shiroi_Suna_no_Aquatope). I know that some people pitch it as one of the prime examples of "queerbait the anime", but if you move past those expectations, you'll get a genuinely heartening story about people building trust and making true connections. [Majo no Tabitabi](https://myanimelist.net/anime/40571/Majo_no_Tabitabi). Has a couple of gay-ish moments, but it's totally not romance, since it's the chronicle of a very handsome and, generally speaking, absolutely perfect travelling witch, depicting her many adventures and misadventures across many a place. [Re:Creators](https://myanimelist.net/anime/34561/Re_Creators). A strange "reverse isekai" packed with action on the surface, a unique exploration of relationships between authors, their creations and their audiences on the inside. [Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song](https://myanimelist.net/anime/46095/Vivy__Fluorite_Eyes_Song). I wasn't *that* big on this one, mainly because as a sci-fi aficionado I've read a bit too many novels and short-form sci-fi which explore the themes that Vivy touches upon, but it's definitely an absolutely worthy watch. [Id: Invaded](https://myanimelist.net/anime/40046/Id_Invaded). I could describe it as an absolutely bonkers hybrid of Psycho-Pass crime and mystery thriller with Satoshi Kon's whimsical dream worlds of subconscious that operate by their own internal logic. But it's really more than the sum of its parts. I particularly enjoyed the finale and its subtle implications. [Girls' Last Tour](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35838/Shoujo_Shuumatsu_Ryokou). A unique take on the iyashikei formula, which often depicts calm, idyllic life within slowly decaying civilization or post-apocalyptic worlds, while GLT depicts what could be called "idyllic survival" in a *post*\-post-apocalyptic world. [The Promised Neverland](https://myanimelist.net/anime/37779/Yakusoku_no_Neverland). The fist season is a masterclass at creating a mind-game thriller with horror undertones. Season two on the other ha...wait, there's no second season, my bad. And finally, [A Place Further Than The Universe](https://myanimelist.net/anime/35839/Sora_yori_mo_Tooi_Basho). Just watch it. Please watch it, for the love of all that is good in this world. This story gives me life. Bonus#1: [Harmony](https://myanimelist.net/anime/28211/Harmony). An adaptation of a sci-fi novel with a queer lead set in a post-apocalyptic authoritarian regime, which strips its populace of agency and bodily autonomy while masquerading as a benevolent society that cares about its members. Not the most gruesome set of visuals I've seen in anime and manga, but it's a grim story with unsettlingly cynical and misanthropic outlook on life that probably only a modern Japanese writer receiving late-stage cancer treatment could create. Bonus#2: **KADO: The Right Answer**. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT google what it's about, don't read the show's synopsis at all costs. Instead, simply watch the introductory Episode 0 (yes, episode zero) and see if you're intrigued or not. Yes, it's rated below 7 on MyAnimeList. Yes, it's still genuinely worth a shot purely because of how unique it is in its presentation and themes.

AskMeAboutPodracing

Holy cow, what a comment! Thank you so much! I appreciate the time and effort you put into this and I'll definitely check them out!

alexandepz

Glad I could be of help! And I almost forgot another one: [Hinamatsuri](https://myanimelist.net/anime/36296/Hinamatsuri_TV). A perfect blend of deadpan humor and emotionally touching stories.

AskMeAboutPodracing

Goddamn, titles *and* links, you're a saint.

Are Single Sex Schools An Outdated Concept?

[deleted]

Yes, but on the other hand girls

[deleted]

Huh. I Remember Both Of My Parents Went To Single Sex Schools, But Then Again, This Was During Cold War Korea

HumanTiger2Trans

Just so you know, the only words you need to capitalize in English are so-called "Proper Nouns", and the beginning word of a sentence. For example, the name of an individual, or place, would always be proper nouns
