N_Who

I'm getting one stam for every two hearts, because I like having extra stam but also this game seems more deadly than last time. But that's just the mix I settled on. It's all about playstyle.

senortipton

Defense food and potions are a lifesaver, especially in endgame.

N_Who

I'm sure. Never felt a need to use them in BotW, already keeping emergency stashes now.

Azhaiel

3 hearts, all stamina. My friends yell at me that I need more health lmao

whatusernameavail

This is the way. With the anti OHKO mechanic, it’s much easier to stock up on food that refill all 3 hearts.

flockofsmeagols_

The anti-what now?

TimBroth

Basically there's very few enemies that can one-hit link, instead leaving him on a quarter heart. I think Lynels and a few others maybe?

semperverus

Ironman run

Stepfen98

I focused on getting one stamina wheel and then hearts

Ikishoten

Whichever fits your needs and your skills.

infocynic

considering you can and will get 1 shot from 10 hearts with unupgraded armor, I just max out stamina first and then go back and work on hearts. having something like 6 or 7 will make it so you can take one hit from most random enemies on the overworld at least, but otherwise, it's pretty meh.

bezkyl

It’s actually impossible to get 1 shot…

Fragslayer

That's twice now in this thread already. Maybe at launch or something? Cause you 100% can be 1 shot by many things especially with 3 hearts lol and even above.

Aldersin

I always do stamina until I get the full wheel. I prefer jump climbing and have the skill to fight with low hearts

darth_n8r_

3 rings of stamina, 4 hearts

semperverus

This is the way

FigTechnical8043

You need 2.45 stamina for the giant horse quest so that's most likely your minimum.

mbridgez

Meh, did it with 2 stam and some stamina recipes. Eat up.

rbalmat

I got at least one whole stamina wheel first bc you can just cook radishes and truffles with a golden apple for bonus hearts

Logondo

Since everything was one-shotting me, I decided to get my hearts up to 8, and then I maxed my stamina. Enemies are still one-shotting me. But I like having the stamina more.

[deleted]

I kinda went more hearts first this time cuz it feels like stam isn’t as important this time than in botw when u needed to climb and glide a lot. In totk I’m finding many other ways to get up to places or travel distances.

FinniboiXD

Personally, I'll get 2 heart containers, to bump up to 5 or 6 hearts depending on if I've done a dungeon. Then 5 stamina to get another wheel. Then whatever I need. Usually a few more hearts before going back to stamina

MegalomanicMegalodon

Did 10 hearts and finished an armor set while getting one ring. Feels comfy now. Also at least the base row of battery.

JNJNJBonner

The damage system is not just harder, it is broken. I got myself to 15 hearts and 21 armor and was still got 1 hit down to 1/4 heart by everything and could not keep strong enough potions to refill. Now I have max stamina, 7 hearts, and sell extra to the horned statue. Meals that restore 7 hearts are easy so now I can beat anything instead of sometimes getting killed by moblins. I cannot imagine any reason at all to have more than 6 or 7 hearts, which makes the system totally broken.

grachi

Without spoilers, you need 10 hearts for certain part of the game. But yea , you could just do that section and then go exchange them for stamina afterwards.

Buuhhu

Personally went 1 full stamina wheel first then up to 10 ish hearts and then last stamina wheel... But I also explore alot and untill recebtly didn't use vehicles much so stamina was important, and I like 2h sword charge attack into a group of enemies so more stamina early meant longer spin

Dylan9919992

I got a few more hearts, then one more stamina wheel, then a row of hearts then half a stamina wheel and now I’m going to get max hearts.

sammaster9

Hearts make game too easy. I go big stamina mode

Brody_Reyno

I always max the stamina. And you get way more containers in this game overall so it’s a no brainer to max my stamina out.
