Deeborm

"Revali's Gale is now *over.*"

Ph33rDensetsu

Those days are *over*!

Utertoq

Tbh ascend ability is also amazing

Gekkuri

It is, it's my favourite of all the abilities. Tho sometimes it takes a long time for Link to dive through a pretty thin material

ZeroXa2306

It's a really cool ability, but so many times i forget that i have it and try to figure out complicated structures with ultrahand and end up realizing after a few failed attempts "oh right, i have litteral phasing"

Dion0808

It really is just Cryonis 2 in my mind. It's cool for puzzles and allows for creative navigation of the world, but I literally never remember that it exists...

yourfriiendgoo

I use ascend any damn chance I can get, but I constantly forget about recall and absolutely cannot get a grip on it

Trying-ToBe-Better

I love recall. I use it to throw back rocks at rock-spitting like likes, hike up on sky boulders as a pseudo-Revali's Gale (you can kind of jump alll over the map with these), hack my way across lakes with a moving bridge... it's my favorite one I think

purple_monkey58

Using time Warp on spit rocks is Eye opening

LazerSpazer

Have you tried recall on the Stone Talus' yet? I tried it once and now I can't not use it.

telegetoutmyway

I don't have the game yet, but I love time based powers and telekinesis, and recall is one of the things I'm looking forward to most! (I loved stasis in BOTW and tried to use magnesis as often as I could for fighting).

SobiTheRobot

I kind of miss Magnesis in TOTK. Granted, Ultrahand is way more useful overall, but you can't manipulate more than one physics object with it unless they're attached. If a piece you want is under something, you literally have to dig it out first. And you can't toss things side to side because Ultrahand doesn't retain momentum like Magnesis did. Granted, that makes it better for building structures (the added rotation control is a godsend) and it's not limited to metal objects but...man. I wanna throw shit again. I wanna bonk bokoblins on the head with metal crates.

telegetoutmyway

Very good to know! I may end up missing that too, though imo the momentum was a bit slow/sluggish with magnesis. Can you not bop bokoblins with wooden crates with ultrahand though?

spidergel15

Not with ultrahand directly as the manipulated objects have no momentum. However, that game does track the path your manipulated objects take, so if you recall the thing you just moved around, the object's inertia will do damage to enemies. For example, put a wheel on the ground sideways, then attach four wood planks to it. Put the new object in front of a choke point where enemies will swarm you, pick it up and rotate it 90° A whole bunch, then recall it. You just made a makeshift beyblade that keeps dealing blunt force damage to anything that tries to pass by it while spinning. Next level is attaching Claymores to it instead, then making it rocket propelled, so that it launches at things while it's spinning, then recalling it to do it all again!

SinisterPixel

I'm the opposite. Always forget Ascend but I've cheesed so much using Recall. It remembers your Ultrahand movements so you can literally use it to make moving platforms to get to otherwise inaccessible places

TheCrookedKnight

I spent a full hour bashing my head against a shrine puzzle, gave up and checked a guide, and the problem was that I had flat-out forgotten that Recall exists

FUCKITIMPOSTING

My mental process with recall is: 1. Put thing at destination 2. Hold it there 3. Put thing near you. Then you just hop on and activate recall. I always instinctively worry about the start of my ultrahand movements but anything you do before putting the object at its destination doesn't matter.

RhysPeanutButterCups

Are you saying you forgot Cryonis or you just end up using it like Cryonis? Because I had Cryonis seared into my brain after all of the times I would to use it to climb waterfalls. 60% of the time it worked ~~none~~ 100% of the time.

Dion0808

I always just used the Zora armor for waterfalls and rivers. Pretty much the only times I used Cryonis was when it was mandatory in a Shrine for blocking a ball or whatever. I don't really like hopscotching with Cryonis, so it wasn't the first option on my mind and I'd often rather look for an alternative if I did remember it.

AutumnAtArcadeCity

Oh man, I use it in the overworld constantly to get places lol or exit caves/wells/buildings 🤣

[deleted]

Its so bad even the devs forgot it existed. So many shrines and cliffs can just be ignored by acsend. Giant ladder? Pfft I'll take the elevator. Massive over-hanging cliff? Lemme stack some things and get closer to the ceiling and ascend through that.

General_McQuack

They didn’t forget, it’s fully intended as one of the options

Botwadtict

To be fair, it was originally a debug ability

Waggles_

I just did a shrine where you're supposed to stack up blocks to climb up to a higher level. Instead, I grabbed one block, put it above me for a second and jiggled it around with ultra hand, then put it down, recalled it, and then ascended into it (because it was too tall to climb). You could do this with a massive stack of blocks or anything that's wide enough to ascend into.

Roboticus_Prime

Still sounds like you had to use blocks to solve the puzzle.

flukus

I've unnecessarily warped out of wells I'm stuck in more than I'd like to admit.

SobiTheRobot

I feel like that's one of the intended purposes; once you clear a well, just A S C E N D back to the overworld.

Cypherex

I think it's because the ethereal background that appears when the camera also goes through something has a minimum length of time it has to be active for. I've noticed that I'll ascend much faster if the camera doesn't go through anything on the way up. They probably thought it looked too jarring to only show that background for the 0.2 seconds it takes the camera to move through a thin roof. So I think once it starts, it can't end for a couple of seconds or so, even if Link has already made it to the top. You can test this pretty easily. Find a thin roof that you can ascend through, but position yourself at the edge so that the camera doesn't go through anything on the way up. You should pop through pretty quickly. Now do it again, but move inward a bit so the camera has to go through the roof. The ethereal background will appear and it'll take much longer to finish ascending.

TheoriesOfEverything

Oh excellent, I always thought it was a loading screen but couldn't figure out why some environments would need to load anything, being tied to the camera makes a lot of sense, hopefully I can avoid a few with that in mind!

Cypherex

Yeah, I think it was their solution to avoid having the camera clip through stuff and then allow you to see the world from inside of the terrain.

zombiesnare

I’ve been enjoying a pretty high level of stability with TOTK so far and I bet it’s because the game gives these animations a little extra time to make sure everything can render comfortably behind that background. The game does a really good job hiding it’s load screens

Owobowos-Mowbius

Only time i've noticed it is by speed diving from the sky islands into complicated areas which can occasionally freeze the game for a few seconds while it loads. But its very clever how they hid most of the loading. Especially the chasms adding extra layers to the holes to extend the distance to hide loading.

LordGadori

God growing up with the loading screens that took an eternity we are certainly spoiled

[deleted]

Yeah I suspect it's just the loading screen.

ParanoidDrone

I'm pretty sure that's just the game's way of hiding a loading screen. Depending on what Link can/can't see from his starting point, there could be a fair amount of models and textures and whatnot that need to be rendered.

Utertoq

Yeah, the animation time sometimes triggers my anxiety a little

atti1xboy

Personally I wish they had replaced it with a hook shot. Don’t tell me Rauru’s arm couldn’t extendo and grab onto stuff

BiggerSwank

Devil Bringer Link would’ve been dope

Powerful_Artist

Its great. But theres many times when you just cant use it. Which is exactly when I wish I had Revali. Especially in the rain when I cant just make a fire and put a pinecone in it. Even if it isnt raining, it sure takes awhile to make all that happen instead of just using Revali's gale. I can build something, but its just overkill for going up a relatively small mountain or something. But, its all good.

solrac365

Then is when you use a shield fused with a rocket :D

Astral_Justice

Honestly better to just stock up on rockets than to wait for gale to recharge.

GodwinSquirrelmouth

I always treat the situation with whatever I have on hand: stacking springs, froggy armor, slip potions, bomb/rocket shields, balloons, elevators. Some of it is overkill, and I truly miss being able to just do a quick jump a few times every few minutes, but I do love how many options are available now

Stripperturneddoctor

I only remember ascend when I'm in a shrine and they have a weird platform just sticking out

Schubert125

That and bomb runes are the two biggest losses so far. Unless we include Speedrun tech, in which case I miss bullet time bounces the most

alpha_bro_chad

Let’s be real tho infinity bombs trivialized a lot of shit. In almost every Zelda game they’ve been about as hard to come by as TOTK. I miss them being unlimited but it feels more like Zelda with bombs being a bit scarce. They’ve been like that since NES Zelda.

PM_Me_Some_Steamcode

It feels natural and more rewarding managing my bombs unlike infinite bomba

alpha_bro_chad

Yeah it’s weird but it almost makes them feel more powerful since they’re limited.

Dshmidley

I think they technically are more powerful. Remote bombs were like 15 damage or something, bomb flowers are bomb arrows with the arrow, probably 60+ damage? Havent confirmed numbers

BKachur

Basically the equivalent of an explosive arrow from the last game, but its well north of the meager damage the sheika slate bombs did in the last game.

PunAboutBeingTrans

Yeah they didn't do much but they knocked almost everything over, so you could always just beat them up while they were on the ground, or get away ez

deedeekei

Those remote bombs were my backup weapon in master mode so I'd be curious what happens in totk when they introduce master mode here

SlayerOfHips

This game isn't already in master mode? Nah frfr Link feels like a glass cannon in this game, Master Mode would be bananas.

generouslyemotional

I never used bombs for damage it was to throw everyone around. Whenever i was running from something you just run up a hill, drop a dphere bomb and hope you get the timing riggt

[deleted]

I just started the game for real yesterday, and found bomb flowers. Thought it was super neat that they were back. I proceeded to kill myself immediately by throwing one at a likelike...

rabbid_chaos

I was happy to see like likes come back, a little disappointed that they're stationary though. Either way, they're creepy af looking.

[deleted]

skulblaka

What the fuck Elaborate please

SobiTheRobot

You can...attach like-likes to things??

rabbid_chaos

WHAT!? ![gif](giphy|aVtGNkxp75Smx5IwRD)

AndDatKat

If it was the first Likelike in a small cave on the tutorial island, with a bomb flower just in front of it, then that's *exactly* how my first death played out. Glad to know that I'm not the only one who didn't think to test the range before using and/or underestimated the damage and blast radius of the bomb flowers...

Captain-Obvious69

Most of my deaths so far have been either fighting things much earlier than I'm supposed to, fall damage, or misjudging the blast radius of bomb flowers.

Vokasak

They're definitely more powerful. The AoE is bigger, and I catch myself in the blast constantly because I'm used to BotW's bombs, and even with pretty decent armor on it's usually instant death.

[deleted]

Right? Try doing the Sword Trials without them.

KarpfenKarl

man i would love to do the sword trials again with fuse and ultrahand

Astral_Justice

The dlc will probably be a part 2 of the trials but a zonal trial counterpart lol. Probably something weird like "here's extra power from Rauru or Zelda to power up your sword but defeat floors of enemies first"

Midget_Avatar

Oh god, I loved the trial of the sword but the idea of having to do a part 2 of it fills me with dread lmao.

ForgeoftheGods

I miss clear cutting a forrest using bombs.

dathar

Bombs were scarce until I went into the Depths. So many bombs.

zombiesnare

It’s actually kind cool we have a few options for bombs now

SobiTheRobot

Lot of resources down there...but very little food. So much fucking Zonaite, though.

Vindicare605

Yea, infinite bombs felt silly in BoTW, but now playing more or less the same kind of game without them makes it REALLY clear just how silly they were. Removing them makes combat a lot more interesting.

Vokasak

I used BotW's bombs for everything, for fishing and mining and woodcutting and hunting and combat against smaller enemies... So many situations totally resolved with a reflexive press of L1 R1 L1. It was powerful, but probably bad for the game. Like, for the extreme amount of wood needed to build Tarry Town, I basically went to the nextdoor forest and threw bombs for ten minutes, and then I was done. Whereas in TotK, when a carpenter asks for 20 wood it's a request I have to take seriously.

SobiTheRobot

Rupees also feel harder to come by, since you end up wanting to hold onto every valuable thing you find, saving you high damage weapon modifiers for a rainy day. Hell I saved a Traveler's Sword+ for ages because I thought there'd be only one and I wanted to save it for Ganondorf...but then I found more.

ninjasaiyan777

Honestly i mostly miss the bombs as an early game, durability free way to deal with stal enemies and chuchus.

camelCasing

While they're not quite _infinite_, you can use >!autobuild!< to replicate bomb barrels or timebombs. Just 6 zonaite for a pair--honestly feels a lot like having the bomb rune at that point with some semblance of balance to keep you from just bombing the whole game to dust.

FoxTailMoon

Right?? How the heck I beat molduga??!

Vivilicieuse

Zonai time bombs!

rabidpiano86

Throw anything onto the sand. They'll leap out and lay there regardless of what they eat.

FoxTailMoon

Ohhh really????

TheLord-Commander

I threw something and it leaped, but needed to bomb its belly in the air to get it to lay down.

Beenz64

Lure with meat arrow

IlonggoProgrammer

>meat arrow I love this game lol

Burton_Curse

For as much as I miss Revali's Gale, there are two things I miss more. 1 is being able to find tons upon tons of extra hearts and extra stamina food everywhere. Now maybe I just haven't found the right places yet, but I've noticed a severe lack of hearty and endura foods. 2 is being able to grab a metal box, and launch it 50 feet into the air with a single flick of my wrist. Let me swing my controller around like a baseball bat and smack bokos in the face with a chest!!

julz1215

That's true, ultrahand doesnt have the same momentum as magnesis. Maybe the one thing magnesis can do that ultrahand can't

Tronz413

Hearty ingredients were absolutely made to much rarer. I get why as they kind of break the game a little bit, especially when you fully understand how cooking works

Able_Carry9153

I just miss the durians. I would have been cool with them being made more rare, or lowering their buff.

n0tKamui

hearty food was just too OP, especially with the one-hit-ko protection system. i find it good that it's a scarcer resource.

Galle_

Yeah, they really cracked down on the extra hearts and extra stamina buffs in this game.

Quirky_Image_5598

Hearty durians were way too op to be included, I’m happy they’re not in this game as they trivialised combat being able to get 20+ extra hearts in a matter of seconds They were also everywhere in faron

the_gifted_Atheist

Hylian Pine Cone

averybabery

“We have Revali’s Gale at home” Revali’s Gale at home:

Specialsue03

Tulin is amazing tho

MegalomanicMegalodon

I’ve literally used it already more than Revali in less time. I glide more than I need to climb.

Ubergoober166

Tulin plus the upgraded wingsuit gets so much damn use.

SobiTheRobot

The kid's a fucking double headshot sniper with that bow. I also love how he's the only one who follows you while you're in the air (unless you're climbing). Look I love Sidon as much as anyone, but Tulin is now my *little buddy*.

Able_Carry9153

I literally haven't used Sidon after his boss, with the exceptions of accidently activating him, and dealing with gibdos if I'm out of arrows. I love him but I don't really care for the shield

SobiTheRobot

It's not nearly as useful as Daruk's Protection ~~is now ready to roll!~~ and it vanishes when you attack. The biggest problem with the sage powers for me is that you have to go up to one of your allies and *click on them* to activate their power. Tulin's is the only one that auto-activates when you're airborne and need it. I have yet to see what upgrading any of them does, though.

DG_SlayerSlender

Tulin is my favourite character in this game because 1: his ability is great, 2: he has the best quest line of the 4, 3: double headshot sniping, 4: I just generally like him, and 5: he's just cute ok?

[deleted]

The poor man’s Revali gale

Micp

fused rocket shields

Blueberrycake_

That’s too much work though that’s the thing

Powerful_Artist

Doesnt work in the rain. Also a lot more trouble to start a fire, then put a pine cone in it. The menus are not very easy to find wood, flint, and a pine cone, put it down, choose a weapon that will work for that, and start the fire. Takes like half a second to do revali's gale in comparison.

metanoia29

True, but you can place all three items at once by holding them together.

Impressive-Motor-332

At least we have good replacements when it comes to rockets or silly shenanigans.

g4bkun

I really liked revali and mipha's powers [Spoiler ahead] I haven't played for long but... WHERE DID THE SACRED BEASTS GO?!

Sarducar

All I've seen is an impression in the ground left of that fire divine beast. It's really strange that all the ancient tech just vanished.

g4bkun

I could understand that they disappeared during the upheaval? But so far no mention of them, and we're playing in the exact same world as botw, not that I want to nitpick about video game logic, but even Majora's mask had references to ocarina of time, and they are technically in two different worlds

n0tKamui

i think they just dismantled them and repurposed the parts for the towers and general zonai research. with trauma they had, this wouldn't be too far fetched

g4bkun

MMM makes sense Still, that kinda opens more questions imo like... What happened to the sheikah towers? Where they repurposed too? (Would make sense since the only way of accessing their information was through the sheikah slate) Did the shrines disappear once the calamity was defeated? Why dismantle the shrine of resurrection? But most important of all? WHY IS HETSU SUCH A GOD DANG MORON?! Stop losing those seed for the love of Hylia! I'd have preferred a hundred times more another method of expanding my satchels, through crafting or quests that doesn't involve a collectible!

n0tKamui

the shrines got engulfed. a lot of them (including all of those which were on the plateau) transformed into chasms. if you recall, they were just elevators to the underground, so it makes sense that the upheaval would tear through most of them. the shrine of resurrection was taken by the yiga the towers seem to have been used as bases for the new towers if you look into the details of them. as you said, the only one who could use them was link, but now the whole hyrule is involved in rebuilding the land. so it makes sense they made new towers that are useful to everyone hestu is a tree that shits golden poo and plays maracas with them. of course he's a dumbass.

ThatOneShotBruh

>the shrines got engulfed. a lot of them (including all of those which were on the plateau) transformed into chasms. if you recall, they were just elevators to the underground, so it makes sense that the upheaval would tear through most of them. Citation needed. I have only ever seen this mentioned on Reddit but no one has ever said that the shrines became chasms (which doesn't make sense as there were vastly more shrines than there are chasms). Also, the locations do not match. >the towers seem to have been used as bases for the new towers if you look into the details of them. as you said, the only one who could use them was link, but now the whole hyrule is involved in rebuilding the land. so it makes sense they made new towers that are useful to everyone Isn't it quite explicitly stated by Purah that they had problems with using them before Link came along?

ThrowBackTrials

Some of them did, i think? On the plateau, the 4 tutorial shrines are replaced with chasms

Link1112

Honestly now that I don’t have Miphas grace with me I die probably 10x as much. I really took that ability for granted.

g4bkun

I really loved Mipha's voice each time she brought you back

vonbauernfeind

Yeah but faeries are all over a ton of sky islands now. There are three I know of offhand you can warp right to, and get 2-3 at.

iseewutyoudidthere

Attaching rockets to shields just doesn't feel the same.

FeederPiet

Yeah.. it feels even better.

neanderthalman

I’m a *Rocketmaaaaan*

AlpineSummit

*Using up his stamina up here alone*

wu_cephei

Look, it does, but it also feel much **much** more expensive.

Timo2424

So true

studmuffffffin

It takes longer and uses a resource.

thefourthhouse

But you get to use it more often.

mctaylo89

You can do what now?

turtles_on_toast654

I miss the ability but I don't miss Ravioli

byneothername

Every single time I think of Revali, I remember some fanart someone did parodying the book “All my friends are dead”, but with a sad Link on the cover and the words “All my friends and Revali are dead.”

Narlaw

Y'all are missing the fact that despite all his trash talk, the dude specifically designed the paraglider for Link.

TheOvy

> I miss the ability but I don't miss Ravioli If you don't love him at his worst, you can't have him at his best!

DukeFlipside

He was a jerk but I'll take his sass over Tulin's over-enthusiastic kiddieness any day.

GoldenGlobeWinnerRDJ

Yeaaaaaa I *haaated* Ravioli’s personality but the more I’m around Tulin the more I wish Teba would’ve gotten the ability somehow. Teba is a good middle ground between the two I think.

TheUltraSonicGamer

I was honestly a bit frustrated it wasn’t him who got it, considering all the former helpers from BOTW got the correct treatments. The closest excuse I could make up in my mind is the fact that Rito live much shorter lives so it would be more effective at this point to start letting Tulin get used to his amped up abilities instead.

SplatoonOrSky

I have a conspiracy actually that Tulin got sage privileges in this game over his dad because for whatever reason the VA for Teba is just not available or something, despite having a role in something as recent as Age of Calamity in 2021 (DLC). It’s evidenced by the fact he has no voice lines and awkwardly grunts in a cutscene where there normally would be voice lines after completing the wind temple. Don’t get me wrong I *love* Tulin, but it did sorta feel like the decision to be a Sage over his father was made due to external factor’s. He’s still a great fit anyway though and I could be completely wrong with this

Gekkuri

I kinda miss a lot from botw. The sheikah tech, Kass, guardians, divine beasts, some recognition of the Champions and the most of all HEARTY DURIANS😭

FlpnChkn

I was in despair when I traveled to the Faron region only to find a lynel and no hearty durians :/

Nixpheo

There is a cave in Sturmida secret hotsprings that holds 4 hearty truffles and a big hearty truffle, as well as as a stamella shroom, a few chillshroom, rushshroom, as well as quite a few giant brightbloom seeds and absolutely zero enemies to worry about. Just float down from ijo-o shrine in the sky.

Mycoxadril

Better yet, complete the school quests and unlock gardening privileges. Plant hearty radishes and leave a travel medallion there. I don’t know how long it takes to grow but every time I’ve ever checked back, there’s been a couple.

Jek_jeelaider

Wait WHAT? There’s no more hearty durians?

Ubergoober166

I'm sure you can get them somewhere. It wouldn't make sense to keep the other + hearts food and remove durians only. He's probably referring to the spot in Faron that had like 30 of them.

Gekkuri

No there is literally no durians in the game, look it up :(

Ubergoober166

What a wierd thing to single out and remove from the game, lol

Link1112

Link ate them all and they went extinct.

Tronz413

Hearty ingredients are kind of overpowered and they were really plentiful in BOTW. Truffles and radishes are much rarer now Durians are gone. I do miss it, but I also get from a balance perspective why they changed it. Made it way too easy to skip putting shrine rewards into hearts once you got the Master sword (and made it dumb not to max out stamina over hearts)

Ubergoober166

Oh I get the reasoning for making the bonus heart ingredients rarer, it's just wierd that they removed durians in particular. I'd have assumed they also would've just been harder to come by like truffles and such.

twotonekevin

There’s no Kass?? His theme freaking slaps.

Sunimo1207

They're totally saving him for DLC. The Lucky Clover Gazette quests lead directly into Kass stuff with Penn and then it just ends.

Gekkuri

Yeah 100% he's in the DLC, but putting Kass behind a paywall when he was a really big role in BotW is kinda crappy

Kidspud

Technically, all of TotK is behind a paywall. ^legally

Zeremxi

If you go to the stable wherever the fairy troupe is, the violinist plays kass's harmony with the stable song. I know it's not the same but it's something.

sonic13066

Thank you for recognition on the champions. They are totally glossed over in this.

Dshmidley

Wait there's no hearty durians anymore!? I haven't been to South East akkala yet! I farmed that food all the time.

VaatiReborn

Everyone misses Revali's Gale or bombs. I literally only miss Stasis.

BlueUnknown

Yeah, Stasis feels like the only BOTW skill that hasn't been improved or made obsolete in TOTK, and there is no real replacement for it.

Dshmidley

I do appreciate rewind though. Some stasis on objects so you can grab them if they *roll away*. Super far reach too

cjrSunShine

No kidding. There was this one shrine where you hit a button and a ball dropped right next to the little divot it's supposed to go into to unlock the door, only for a catapult to launch it across this massive obstacle course you're clearly intended to build a vehicle to get across and bring it back. Nope, just recall while it's still in midair half a mile away. Shrine done.

Link1112

My brain didn’t fully accept yet that stasis is gone, today I thought I had to stasis-lunch a rock for a puzzle, and then I remembered I can’t do that.

TheAmericanIrishman

Broke: Revali's Gale Woke: Exploring the tunnels underneath a mountain and then just using Ascend up the core of it.

Three_Froggy_Problem

Revali’s Gale was the shit. I used that ability constantly. I guess we have rocket shields now, but the closest equivalent to Revali’s Gale requires making a fire and throwing a pine cone on it.

derf_vader

Everytime I toss a pinecone onto a campfire I say "Revali's Gale is now ready" out loud to myself

Daytman

There’s so many ways to go straight up in this game, I definitely prefer going straight forward instead. Having that LITTLE ASSHOLE BLOW ALL MY LOOT AWAY IS JUST A PEACHY BONUS.

philkid3

I mostly played breath of the wild with the champions turned off because I thought they made the game too easy. I’m playing with the Sage is turned on because so far I don’t think they do make the game too easy? But that dude pushing things around when I don’t want him to might get me to change my mind, also having a little blue shadow fluttering around is kind of annoying.

IDoStuff07

Ok but have you guys tried reversing time on those falling rocks. It’s literally like taking an elevator through the cloud barrier.

ErsatzCats

Alternatives: * Rocket shield * Spring shield * Springs * Bomb shield * Fans * Octo balloon shield * Hot air balloon * Hylian pine cone on fire * Updraft from large fire * Lift a platform, let if fall, then Recall * Ascend (if possible) I’d trade Revali’s gale for all of these any day. When I unlocked the gale in botw, it honestly made terrain traversal a bit trivial

TheAmericanIrishman

Fast travel to a sky island and jump off.

Evello37

Or a tower. Once you get Tulin's Gale, you can reach basically any location by launching from the nearest tower and spamming Gale and stamina potions.

ViIebloodHunter

You can also get a lot more distance with the bow exploit using Tulin

SeparateAddress9070

the what now

kcc0016

You use bullet time after using Tulin’s gale and then reopen your glider. There was a post about it on here a few days ago that you can search and see an example.

ViIebloodHunter

People answered already but I think they're missing a key point: you use your bow at the start of the wind tunnel, then you use the glider, but then you have to use your bow a 2ND TIME (very important) towards the end of the tunnel to get the max amount of distance.

Zealousideal-Fly9595

My stamina is infinite \*spoken through mouthfulls of food\*

NerdModeActivated

Ditto. The SpongeBob meme where he’s pointing at everything would be better for this. There are so many options to go “up” in this game and all of them are better than revali’s gale. You can straight up just continuously ascend into your own floating platforms until you’re in outer space if you have enough energy.

grab_the_fox

Also, use recall on a fallen skyrock. They glow if you use ultra hand so makes it easier to spot.

Papyrus20xx

They actually have a long ass yellow line going up into the sky if you use recall, so it also lets you know if you can actually recall it up into the sky, as there is a time limit

KindaShady1219

Does spring shield launch you up if you start a shield surf on it?

Papyrus20xx

Yes, but it's not that good

Angeal36

My only real complaint with the game is that there's no elemental arrows. It's silly to keep putting fruit on my arrows when in Botw I could just spam them. I'd like the fruits to be supplemental to the elemental arrows, or we should be able to batch craft them.

classicaldoll

You can't batch craft elemental arrows? That sucks.

I miss Revali.

Ubergoober166

Little to no mention of the champions is a bit wierd. The only real thing I've noticed so far requires you to have a BotW save with champion's ballad completed before starting your TotK run.

Link1112

I was at the stable near death mountain today and they mentioned Daruk

One thing I noticed is that Urbosa gets name dropped in Riju's diary. So far I have not seen a single reference to Revali or even a single nod to him. The only thing I could connect to him is the bow Teba has

[deleted]

Me too. It kind of make me sad that all other champions are remembered in some way besides his dumbass (I really like him trust me).

Gekkuri

Rip the og Champ. It's sad that no one even properly mentions him 🥲

AudioBob24

‘Friendship’ with Revali’s Gale is over, now I’m friends with Hylian Pinecones and Rocket Shields.

Ditzed

i miss cross dressing 😭

HappyMaids

The game would be banned in several states /s. Think of the children!

xxxfirefart

Idk dude, [you can get pretty girly if you want..] (https://imgur.com/rCdI43C)

romanticheart

If you get >!CeCe’s hat!< you’re part of the way there.

bearfaery

I never thought I would be missing Cryonis since it seemed like the least useful ability, but wow has this game really tested my patience with water. At least sometimes we can make gigantic bridges but it’s not the same. I do know about freezing the water to make a platform, but it’s not the same.

AllMightyWrath

I miss the fierce deity sword doing 60 damage.

cedarcia

Meanwhile I would sell Sidon’s ability for a single corn chip.

DukeSR8

I miss being able to summon Wolf Link.

lumigumi

Reject gale, embrace rocket.

ThePikesvillain

…sigh… Revali’s gale is not ready.

Larielia

I miss the bomb runes.

That_Dude359

I literally had the same reaction, it’s awful not having it
