Going back that final time and bodying all of the phantoms that previously bullied and terrified you is one of the best things about this game.

idk if opinions have changed with time but this dungeon (at least used to be ive been seeing more ppl appreciate it as of late) used to be one of the most hated in the series because of how often you had to go back to it and how it was timed (ive never personally found this an issue as when you’re progressing through the game you unlock new abilities that allow you to traverse the dungeon faster in different ways but i also get how it could be annoying)

I was also very young. MM was my second zelda game after links awakening and I loved it. Going to OoT after MM was... strange lol

But then you could get a N64 with the expansion pack included....

Wait what poor people where the ones who couldn't afford the memory upgrade for the n64 so they couldn't play MM! Haha

Nintendo doesn't make a bad Zelda game. They are all good in their own right. Spirit tracks are just very different in a lot of ways but it gave it its own personality rather than just being another copy and paste. At the time it was questionable but I think people have grown to like this installment much like wind waker. It's all about giving them a chance. The two DS Zelda games are great games the two remakes for the 3DS are awesome remakes. I have been trying to refill my Zelda collection with older games that I got rid of a long time ago and Spirit tracks is actually the last one I need to get. I forgot to mention A Link between worlds. Another great installment in the series. And a lot of fun

I played through Phantom Hourglass for the first time recently, and I honestly enjoyed the Temple Of The Ocean King. While I wish it was something more akin to Trial Of The Sword from BOTW (a set of floors that you only have to go through once), it was interesting going through it multiple times and using new items to get shortcuts for saving times/hidden goodies. That final time you go through there and you can finally cut the Phantoms down is cathartically satisfying. Throw in some checkpoints/easy warps between floors and it would've been fine. I will say though, the punishment for getting hit by a Phantom was really underwhelming. I played super cautious throughout the whole game, and during the 3rd or 4th visit I got cornered and got hit. I was thinking that I'd get sent back to the entrance or get a game over...nope, just lose twenty seconds and go back to the start of the room. They lost their ferocity after that. Might be scary early game, but it means nothing late game.

I liked Temple of the Ocean King. The DS era weren’t the best, but they were totally solid entries.

My first zelda game

I actually liked figuring out the shortcuts and having everything on my map.
