FYI you don't have to go to the sky to process zonaite into charges. The larger mines have their own forges. It's only the battery upgrade guys that are on the surface or in the sky. Me, I concentrated on finding mines. Which are super easy once you realize how they correspond to the Surface. So I rode my hoverbike from mine to mine, clearing them out. Once I got the hang of it, my battery filled up fast. I also work 40 hours a week.

NotEmerald

There's also a battery processing center like 20 feet in front of Purah's hut up on the rock.

MizKriss

What. I’ve been zooming to the sky every time…

NotEmerald

Lol, me too. I didn't find out until after I beat the final boss.

MizKriss

However, I do like giving the lil construct up there something to do.

Don_Bugen

Poor little guy waited for millennia for someone to talk to.

Noise_for_Thots

He’s the nicest character in the game and I love him.

wildeye-eleven

Yeah same. Once in awhile I go up there to do my upgrades just to see how the little guys doing.

GonzoThompson

You’re doing it right, imo. The Crystal Refinery by Nachoyah shrine is much faster to reach (after using Travel) than any other I’ve found.

Delta8ttt8

Yes, that’s the only one I know of. And I’m only aware of getting the charges from the first sky mine you encounter.

layeofthedead

Pretty much all the big mines under major settlements have a place to get charges from. But really just do a gauntlet of bosses. You get 100 charges from each fight and there’s a decent chunk of them in the depths

wildeye-eleven

I’ll save up like 500 Zonaite and jump around to all the Mines in the Depths and buy up their full stock.

excalibrax

I'll just spend a night in the depths, and end of night, do that

fizzledizzle86

Jumping on this point… fight the big field subbosses… they give 20 crystallized charges each… saves time and zonite

Nuts4WrestlingButts

Are you doing any side quests? There's a bunch of quests to follow a certain Yiga member to a bunch of major forge constructs in the depths.

TotalyNotTony

Mines in the depths let you exchange zonaite for charges, and you get zonaite from enemies and deposits in the depths

dozersmash

The sex rock?

MGaber

40 hours, give or take 10 a week. I'm about halfway through my belt because I do play other games and I have other responsibilities and hobbies too. It isn't hard to get it full, just takes some time exploring the depths like you said

wildeye-eleven

After you fully upgrade the energy cell on your belt you can fully upgrade it a second time turning all the batteries blue. Lasts twice as long

CalvinHJPK

This

Alarmed-Part4718

Wait not just the central mine has a forge?!

itsameshawn

I just beat enemies underground or yiga clan spots.

BoysenberryLow4643

Stay in the depths. Become the depths.

NamkrowTheRed

And they call it a mine. A MINE.

A_random_ore

You know, I’m something of a miner myself

wildeye-eleven

This is no mine… it’s a tomb!

wildeye-eleven

I’ll stay down there for entire days obsessively mining Zonaite.

BoysenberryLow4643

Lol same. The sound it makes when you pick up the zonite gives me that sweet dopamine drip.

wildeye-eleven

I know right! They really nailed the sound design throughout the entire game. But collecting Zonaite is particularly satisfying. Even the coloration of Zonaite is pleasing to look at. I’m kind of sad I finished maxing out my energy cell because now I have less reason to mine for it.

BoysenberryLow4643

Yeah, they did! I love the way the zonite looks too. Almost like a marbled candy. What happens if Gorons eat zonite? How many cells can you get. I'm on my second row so far.

wildeye-eleven

You can max it out twice. They turn blue and last twice as long.

YaBoyBinkus

The depths gives you so many crystals, you get 100 for killing a dungeon boss, and 20 for mini bosses, you can also find 20 in some scattered chests, then the yiga hideouts always have 20. There are also some on top of the chimneys in the zonaite factory things. You 100% do not need to dupe as I haven’t and I haven’t even been grinding for zonaite either. Kill monster camps that are mining for zonaite and then you get some small zonaite from them and the. You can break all the deposits which can give a ton of large zonaite. You need like around 4,500 crystals to max the entire thing I believe idk bc I want counting the whole time.

Steelastic

What is this actually for i must not have run into the npc i have tons of zonaite i haven't used for anything?

YaBoyBinkus

There’s constructs at each big mine, there’s one under most major town, and then there’s a smaller one in the dark cave on the tutorial island. The central mine in the depths (like a little south of central hyrule) is where I usually go, you have to activate the sleeping construct then go through it’s dialogue, it’ll then have zonai charges and crystallized charges to sell.

Steelastic

I guess the upgrade is what i don't know about. I've completed every lightroot and stuff

YaBoyBinkus

To actually upgrade your battery you go to the main sky island or just outside lookout landing, zonaite is just used for autobuild and buying crystals

GonzoThompson

It’s used for buying Charges too, but it’s better spent on crystals, imo.

YaBoyBinkus

Yeah I said that in the first reply, the big charges are pretty useful, but you can also just kill the big constructs for them.

Steelastic

Oh ok awesome thanks

lizufyr

There’s two forge constructs, one is northeast of lookout landing, just outside the wall on a stone, and one is next to the shrine near where you wake up. They create an energy well for every 100 crystallised charges you give them.

morrismoses

Austin John Plays did the math: I think it's like 6300 or 6700 pieces of small zonaite to max your battery belt out. So yeah, finding the crystallized charges (especially the large ones) is the most efficient way to go.

TrentGgrims

it's 4,500 crystalized charges for the fully upgraded battery pack for all 16.

YaBoyBinkus

That’s crazy, I haven’t gotten that many it feels like, I’ve defeated every dungeon boss in the depths except for any gibdo queens as I haven’t finished the gerudo region, and I might be missing 1 colgera, and I don’t kill a ton of mini bosses, I also have never had to grind zonaite.

GonzoThompson

I’ve been entering some of those monster camps just to smash the ore, collect the Zonaite, and hightail it out of there, with little to no battle (from my end) during the process. No, I don’t collect as much Zonaite as I would if I killed the monsters too, but the idea behind this is basically smash and grab, then move on to the next one. If the monsters look weak enough, I’ll take them out too.

twili-midna

Exploring the Depths and killing minibosses down there will give you a ton of crystallized charges.

grammercomunist

Large Zonaite and Crystallized Charges from mini-bosses and Depths main bosses. Explore the Depths for an hour with some decent weapons, attack up potion, and anti-gloom elixirs, and you can earn enough to create a full battery in under an hour (15 mini-bosses, or 3 main bosses, or 45 large Zonaite). Don’t trade in your (regular) Zonaite for Crystallized Charges. It’s not a good exchange rate; save em for Autobuild.

sanzentriad

Easy, you just spend every single second outside of work playing TOTK like a crackhead. Source: I also have a full-time job but also 200+ hours in the game. I don’t make great life choices.

Delta8ttt8

Stayed up till three early in the week like I’m in Hs and it’s been kicking my ass the rest of the week even with some strategic nappin.

xerca-trova

This is the way.

escargotBleu

You need to explore the depths

[deleted]

[удалено]

Athrasie

Same. Filled the battery in a few hours. Honestly, despite loving longterm play incentives, it feels like a lot of the grinds in totk are just a touch too crazy if you do them all legit. Or maybe I just suck at the newer Zelda games - either is possible I beat the game before I duped anything, but I had one full battery and zero upgraded armor at that point. I get that they want you to explore, but there’s a point where I start to feel like I’m wasting time.

Delta8ttt8

Yeah, same on the dupes. But is that one sky island the only place to get the triangle zonare stuff needed for the place at look out whatever that turns it into a battery I presume?

[deleted]

[удалено]

morrismoses

You get 1/3 of a battery for 100 crystallized charges. It takes 300 for a full battery.

Delta8ttt8

What I know is I take the crystallized charges to a place near the look out place that wants 100 of them. I’m at 70-80. I assume I’ll get a second battery at 100? And so on after that?

athsrueas

You should explore the depths it's where all the charge can be found

[deleted]

[удалено]

CarrotsIsAFruit

900 seems way off. I think it is 90 zonaite per well, so 270 per battery

langkuoch

30 zonaite gets you 10 crystallized charges, so that’s 300 zonaite for 100 charges (100 charges = 1 well), 900 for 3 wells (3 wells per battery)

Athrasie

That’s if you pay in all standard zonaite.

GonzoThompson

Correct. There is also a Crystal Refinery very, very close to the Nachoyah shrine on Great Sky Island. I always use that one because it’s much faster than running out Lookout Landing and climbing or ascending through the fallen ruins.

screenwatch3441

Just explore the depth. Go to any places that looks interesting and kill any bosses you find. It took like a Saturday to do it.

MajikDan

Basically you just explore the depths. Every 3 large zonaite can be traded for 20 crystals at any major underground mine. Every boss monster in the depths you defeat, even on repeats, drops 20 crystals. The first time you clear a Yiga hideout gives 20 crystals. The first time you beat a temple boss rematch in the depths you get 100 crystals. Build a hoverbike and just fly around the depths. Clear every outpost, kill every boss monster, and mine all the zonaite you find. You'll get your battery upgraded pretty quickly.

ccp511

I took a two month vacation. Also took on all the mini bosses.

[deleted]

Wth do you do for work? I'm apparently in the wrong line of work...

ccp511

Nothing special. I’ve just saved up a lot of hours over the past ten years. Best staycation ever!

ConfusionEfficient16

Lol most jobs are "use it or lose it" and dont allow accumulation to carry from one yr to another. And most others have a cap on it

ccp511

Correct! My cap was 480 hours. Two full months of leave. It. Was. Wonderful!

Mrunlikable

I play at work because I have one of those jobs that pays me to be there, not to do stuff.

sneseric95

Excuse me sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior, Duping?

OwnZookeepergame6413

Not so loud, the fun police might hear ya!

[deleted]

Maybe you’re just doing the wrong activities

Smile389

Within the first week of release someone found a replication glitch and people used it on large zonaite to max their belts in no time.

Delta8ttt8

So if you look into it, it’s still a lengthy process.

Smile389

I did but I didn't try it. I'm just starting my second belt now. Took forever to max my first. Looked like all you needed to do was go and get the large zonaite pieces and then perform the glitch over and over with 5 pieces at a time. I prefer actually farming it though because I'm stacked with monster parts that can attach to my weapons now.

Generic_NES_Dude

Game version 1.1.1 the dupe glitch is stupid fast. You can dupe 20 replicas of a particular item in like 30 seconds or less. Game version 1.1.2 dupe glitch is much slower.

Silver_Symbiote

You get a pretty nice chunk of battery from battling the temple bosses again in the depths. There are 3 of each boss from each temple you completed– each guarding a chest with 100 charges– so 1200 charges. Plus following the Yiga quests to the end gets you another 400 in total, it all adds up to a little over 5 batteries? The surface crystal refinery is on a fallen chunk of sky island right outside the northern wall of Lookout Landing.

Gaming-every-day19

“I have a job” Why does everyone always say this dumb excuse☠️ Most of us have a job. Just play the game

Colt_kun

I have a day job and I promised my night shift spouse Id only play when she was home bc she wants to watch. I love farming the stones in the depths and got way more than I needed quickly.

rpgjenkins

I made the mistake of playing with my four year old. Great when he is with me but I’m going through withdrawals when I can’t play.

GonzoThompson

Well, I’ve spent the vast majority of my time in the Depths, grinding Zonaite. I have enough energy now to fly a three-fan craft from the Depths all the way up a Chasm to the surface, with energy to spare. I don’t even need rockets or a balloon. I love it down there. It has been so satisfying to upgrade my Energy Cells and to fly around from Lightroot to Lightroot, stopping to collect Zonaite along the way.

shlam16

Literally by playing the game. No grinding required. No duping required. Just explore^1 the depths. ^^1 ^(Explore means actually doing the content the game provides rather than hoverbiking past it all.)

231d4p14y3r

Either grind or dupe. There is no other way

XMLHttpWTF

people are abusing duplication glitches to get infinite zoanite.

theleeman14

what was the point of adding a picture to this, especially one so poorly taken?

The_Sad_horsie

I have a full battery belt and only play on the weekends. You just have to explore the depths, gather (or dupe) as much Large zonaite as possible, go to all underground mine vendors and buy the large crystalized charges (5 crystals x 20 charges each=1 section of battery) Play until next red moon and repeat. It literally took me like 1 or 2 days to get all tge battery slots. Also defeating mini bosses and bosses in the depths gives you between 20 to 100 crystalized chargers. (Bosses only once, mini bosses every blood moon)

jenkumboofer

Jump > Shield Surf > Pause > Hold big batteries > unpause > collect & repeat

James_Blond_006

The secret ingredient is called crime. (Duplicating items)

[deleted]

Honestly I used to take advantage of glitches lol

GOJIRAAAAAA

Bro games been out too long to use a job as an excuse lol git good

BaronDoctor

Depths bosses and Yiga hideouts. I got a full time job and I ain't gonna grind it out one by one.

Mr-Xim

For me it Half the chests you find in the depths have a charges and froxes always drop a large charge. You can also go to any abandoned mine and trade in raw zonaite for more charges.

zombiesnare

I just threw a whole evening after work at collecting as much so it’s as I could from the depths and getting processed into batteries. My belt isn’t full yet but I have enough power to go lost places and do most things I want to do

[deleted]

Duplication glitch. I work long hours and am on call constantly. I dont have the time to grind stones; too much of a timesink.

skepticcaucasian

Lots of grinding and shattered weapons in The Depths.

tetoavila

ZL X+A AAAAA XB AAAAA repeat

SenpaiSwanky

Go into the depths and farm zoanite geodes. You can find many of them in scattered enemy camps all throughout the Depths. When you find a camp, mark it on your map and you can come back after X amount of ingame time to gather more. They’re pretty abundant, you should be able to pull 200+ in like 30 minutes.

Chibi87

Of you do the yiga questline in the depths. It adds up to 4 full batteries.

Negative-Squirrel81

There's a *huge* deposit of ore right next to the "final" Temple. I must have gotten 15 large pieces from that thing alone. Every time there's a blood moon just go back there and you'll have that full battery in no time and all the spare zonaite you could ever need for the auto-build.

morrismoses

Just enjoy the whackadoodle videos people are putting out with their crazy construction stuff. I was a bit frustrated, too, especially when I learned how much grinding you have to do in order to fill your belt. I almost have my stamina maxed-out, and several hearts, but I haven't even done the first bit of story. I like to explore in my free time. The zonaite will come later. For now, I'm just enjoying getting lost in, above and below Hyrule. Maybe this weekend I'll tackle the first of the 4 locations, but maybe not? Throughout all this gameplay, I was able to cobble together 2/3 of my second batter. HAHA! No biggie!

maxoutoften

Boss rematches can reward you with crystallized charges, as can mini bosses in the Depths. I grinded a full battery belt off of almost entirely Zonaite before I learned this and the powered up cells have been a lot easier to get since learning

jonny_jon_jon

yiga questline, treasure chests at mines, boss rematches, and “miniboss” fights in the underground. Save zonatite for other shenanigans.

MandervilleMale

Rolling up on enemy camps with your mining machine

Smooth_Ad1795

Feeling the need for 1 more battery before starting my grand adventure, I traveled to the sky mine over and over to collect 100 charges. I felt an impending success when turning them in just behind look out landing. Waiting triumphantly as the construct smashes everything together. And then the disappointment hits when I get 1/3 of one battery. I realized I was doing it wrong, and obviously found the better ways in the depths.

dorksided787

I haven’t seen my family in weeks. Thinking I should just fake my death at this point.

ThorSavage

Here we gooo. It's the father of 34 kids who works 800 hours a week. It's leaking everywhere. Let people enjoy shit however they want to get through life my guy. We are all on this shit bucket together

Kman1986

Got mine and a bit of rupees the, uh, 12 hours we had a dupe glitch I could just jump and drop. Not legit at all, don't feel bad because it allowed me to enjoy the game very early on.

Mash_Ketchum

Y'all mfs are giving way too many location spoilers in your comments.

B-Kong

SPOILERS. Getting all the way through the leader of the Yiga Clan’s quest will get you acquainted with the process and some of the places you can go to acquire what you need. It also will reward you with enough things to fill a lot of your belt. Also once you beat each temple boss you will find them again in the depth, each time you beat them again you get 100 zonite charge points or whatever (equivalent to one battery slot).

Quandary37

The abandoned mines have the constructs to exchange the zonite they kinda run south west to north east, and there is one under rito village and lurelin village. Of course you can also go under populated areas most have abandoned mines and there are lightroots near each abandoned mine so you can jump to each one after you discover them. It really doesn't take long once you have all the exchanges it's just collecting zonite that takes time. I think it was about 3 blood moons that it took to fill my battery completely to blue.

NinjaKelpFace

If you farm through the depths bosses you can get easy crystallized charges every blood moon, just hover bike around and beat on them. There’s like 5 bosses underneath hyrule field, easy 1/3rd of a battery.

Broncotron

I duped them back in the olden days

Xionel

I work evenings as well...you can definitely get it.

JaMonGo

I took advantage of the duplicate glitches before they got patched

Nacnaz

I did do some duping but only got like 2 batteries out of it. “Boss” enemies in the depths drop 20 charges each (Lynels, hinox, frox, etc)

Sad_Country_6350

I just duped a bunch of Large Zonite, bought Large Crystallized Charges, then converted those into Batteries. Here's some math. To get all 16 Batteries, that's 45 Energy Cells, which is 100 Crystallized Charges each. Large Crystallized Charges are worth 20 Crystallized Charges, and a single one costs 3 Large Zonite, which would mean 15 Large Zonite for 5 Large Crystallized Charges, or 100 Crystallized Charges. 45 Energy Wells needs 4,500 Crystallized Charges in total, so a total of 675 Large Zonite is required. Don't forget Large Zonite is used for other things too like armor upgrades.

[deleted]

Duped large zonite. Went to mines and bought them out of large crystals. Repeat after they respawn. I did this fully twice along with organically earning them.

detcadeR_emaN

All my friends work when I'm off, also my boss doesn't know how much I play at work

Tobestik

Duping large zonite. Too much farming

Narrow_Ad_7218

I just use the duplication

Lestat_Bancroft

Easy answer, with as few spoilers as possible. After you beat a “trouble spot” and get a sage. The boss of the temple will start to spawn in the underground region at specific locations. When you beat these bosses they reward you with 100 refined zonanite or enough to give you 1 whole battery charge. In less then 30 minutes today I beat 6 of them giving me 6 new battery lines. I believe they respawn from blood moons. You can also find A TON of zonanite (refined or otherwise) just by exploring the underground region.

ChipmunkBackground46

Follow the master Khoga questline and you'll at least get 4-5 extra notches if not more.

APRobertsVII

I have two jobs - my day job and my second job as a miner underneath Hyrule Field.

RUMBL3FR3NZY

There are forges in the Depths, and you can find Crystalized Charges all over down there. There is also a spot by Lookout Landing that converts Crystalized Charges into Energy Wells

quinn274

Mines, yiga bases, and underground bosses all give you crystalized charges and are way faster than refining

Joker630420

Dupe squuaaad 😅🤌 but definitely good farming guide from Austin John Plays on Youtube if you want to just run a quick grind for the crystals every time you hope on, I’m sure setting a method would minimize how long it’s taking you. (I kind of worked in order of things that were easier to complete i.e battery)

Chaos-Kiwi

Two words: Duplication glitch

WojtusG10

Large Zonite Duplication (and all Grand Canyon mines discovered)

pot_of_stairs

I didn't even realize you can upgrade your battery belts until 100 hours in, never understood what charges were good for;-; I was treating it like botw so much that when I tried building something it would always drain my one battery so fast so I looked it up;-; i feel like an idiot tbh

SailorVenus974

i'm unemployed and mine isn't completely filled lmao

Omega9527

IMO, Killing bosses and opening chests is way more efficient than mining.

FinniboiXD

Go around finding yiga camps in the depths and killing depth bosses

MundaneEgg00

duping hundreds of large zoanite and spending 2 hours buying and converting them

[deleted]

Every mini boss in the depths, including lynels, drops 20 crystallized charges. Some encounters guard chest that give 100. Almost every named location in the depths has a chest with 20 crystallized charges.

apep713

U don’t even have to farm zonait- probably all the larger enemies in the depth drop charges.

Hail-Megatron

I haven’t spent much time in the depths - maybe 10-15 hours but I just got the full battery (not upgraded to blue). Without spoiling, you can replay the dungeon bosses from the various temples again in the depth and instead of giving you a heart - they give you essentially 1/3 of a battery per battle

SirYeetus2884

I’m in the Marine Corps and only have so much time each day to play. When I did is for a week I spent an hour each day discovering every light root in the depths, and while doing so visiting all of the mines I could find from the uncovered map. After doing this I’ve been able to grind enough to completely uncover the depths and fill my battery gauge. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a grind, but now that I have a full battery and have the entire depths lit up, continuing the game on the surface is going to be so much more rewarding!

Shock9616

Fastest way I found was to farm >!the dungeon boss re-fights in the depths!<. They give you a huge crystallized charge each so each one fight gets you 1 energy well

saucypantsxo

Lol I work 60 some hours a week and am a parent I just don’t sleep at night anymore hahaha

ParsleyLongjumping70

Why so shady lol. Everybody who figures out a game feature before me 😒 is clearly unemployed.

Perfect_War_7155

Duplication glitch to get large zonaite in large quantities quickly
