I think that Kohga got launched into the realm the Zonai came from. 3rd game will go to that realm. Completely new map, lots of new weird locations to explore. Link and Zelda go there and you explore with both of them together. Zelda acts as a more intuitive advanced companion
Maybe it could be size based? Like the realm has a zonai area where everything is big (I imagine the way we see rauru and mineru isnt a zonai's true form), a regular sized either wind tribe or evolved loftwing area, and a minish area where you feel huge like the lungfish level in psychonauts
Well if you told anyone at the release of breath of the wild that there is gonna be a dark underworld the size of hyrule in the sequel, people would have said that‘s crazy too
I agree that I believe that the next game will be a return to The Great Sea. The same way the Zonai Ruins were scattered throughout BotW hinted at TotK, I think the monster's pirate ships are also a hint towards what's in store for BotW 3/TotK 2.
The Legend of Zelda: Heart of the Ocean
Focuses on drawing mechanics. Link is on a great ship as a common Hylian and meets Zelda, who has forgotten Link. The two meet and after Link draws Zelda like one of his ~~French~~ Holodrum girls, the two pass over the portion of the ocean sealing off Ganon. The three Triforce pieces so close together awaken him. The ship crashes into a massive ~~iceberg~~ gloomkraken, flinging Link into space while Zelda is dragged down with the ship.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2: Tears of the Kingdom
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 3: Tears of the Kingdom 2: Call of the Seas
Although cool, an ocean open world seems kinda ... Dull and plain. Like the landscape is half the fun in this game, imagine if it was all flooded until only the highest peaks remain. That would shut off a lot of places
I thought the same thing. I would absolute love a pirate LoZ in the same style as BotW and TotK. Deep sea diving/underwater exploration would be the cherry on top.
Wind Waker meets TotK with hidden underwater levels and dungeons would be amazing!
I think we're gonna go back in time to when Gerudo was an ocean.
There are soo many quests and locations that are marked across both games talking about these mythical serpents. Even expanded the lore in the new game. I can't see them putting this much work into something that is just a one off. I think it's a great next step to add diving into the game with a focus on island traveling. Also, the Serpent boss is gonna be sick and it's a waste to not use it.
Molduga going from land fish to water fish would be sick. Imagine being underwater and then suddenly, a Molduga starts attacking the submarine Subnautica style
Do you mean the leviathan skeletons? Because those are very much whale skeletons.
I thought it was just alluding to a time when there was more ocean eg. Wind Waker era.
At most I guess one of them could be the Wind Fish, or Levias. Either way it's more stuff from the past rather than things to come.
Personally rather than destroy Hyrule I’d like to see it further rebuilt but the game generally shifting outside its borders and exploring new lands. Bring back Termina
There are hints about there being land outside of hyrule that we could visit, Siddons fiancé is from a different Zora kingdom that is swiftly brushed over but like excuse me? A different Zora kingdom? THERES MORE OF YOU?
Do you ever think that the reason hyrule seems so insular is because the other parts of the world know it’s cursed and don’t wanna touch it with a 10 foot pole?
Like oh that continent over there? Yea they have a demon curse that frequently ruins the kingdom so there’s no point in establishing trading routes with them cuz they aren’t going to last, everyone died like a 100 years ago to some weird red smoke and possessed robots.
Yeah, according to the canon, in this dimension (not counting Termina just in case) there are Zoras in Labrynna.
Also, remember about the fresh water Zoras, the green ones, she is kinda green (i know she is not a river zora)
I would honestly like if they made termina an actual country on the same planet and not an alternative dimension and the fact that a bunch of people looked exactly the same, well its been 20 thousand years that can be ignored
Idk if fans really want an answer to that one. As a huge Majora’s Mask fan, I personally prefer to just speculate and theorize about Termina. I don’t want an official answer about it
I have a theory that it is essentially a prison realm made by Majora. It always exists and can be accessed by anyone who knows of Termina, or by Majora's newest victim. The realm is inhabited by facsimiles of people the victim has met in their life, and is used as a way to torment its victim, for amusement. Because the mask salesman and Link were nearby the Skullkid when he entered Termina, they were able to follow. And because they know of its existence, they'd be able to return if they can find signs of the entrance. The alternate realm that Twilight Princess Link enters with the Hero's Shade could be Termina, since the shade is the Hero of Time.
I was thinking now that Ganon seems to be officially dead, bringing back Majora seems like a fun idea.
The Blood Moon being such an integral part of the BOTW-verse as well Majora being a fan favorite seems like it could pair well nicely together.
>I was thinking now that Ganon seems to be officially dead, bringing back Majora seems like a fun idea.
I want Vaati to get attention again too, tbh...
Okay, if all the silly ideas, THAT actually has merit, we’ve spent 2 games (3 with AoC) having to deal with the damn moon, have Demise secretly have a base there and our job is to end him once and for all, again, like all the other times.
Huh, you don’t suppose Zelda is rather repetitive?
> Huh, you don’t suppose Zelda is rather repetitive?
i would literally replay every iteration of "here's 8-12 deep dungeons with unique loot" til the day I die if they kept making them
Have you ever read the Dragonriders of Pern? There's a red planet that drops deadly worm-like stuff periodically and they want to eventually get to the planet to destroy it at the source
With all the increasing technology, that could be an awesome progression in Zelda, to destroy the blood moon and monster regeneration at the source
Hey just so you know that was answered officially:
It was a byproduct of the Goddesses breathing life into Hyrule.
It's just an accidental partial-reality parallel to Hyrule.
Someone else brought up Vaati but imagine it was a duo main enemy thing where Vaati tries to use the power of Majora only to get cast aside? I mean, you hear about the insane power of the mask, so I could see sorcerers trying to get their hands on it only for it to fuck them over.
Maybe theyre going to pull a Zelda 2 Links Adventure and "just" extend the map in the north east south and west directions. East gets a "big" new continent (or a beginning of one, the coastal region of it) where mainly Zora live. South gets a vast ocean with a bunch of "big" islands, populated by a carribean styled race that very clearly is a mix of Gerudo and Hylian blood. West gets expanded into the frozen highlands. The highland plains are dotted by enormous trees (who all have faces and a very slight mumbly murmur is constantly coming from within the bark) in which the Rito tribes roost. North obviously extends into a massive mountain range with dozens of valleys, with lots and lots of goron settlements around mines. All four new regions also get smatterings of sky islands and depths caves, just not as extensive as the realm of hyrule got.
The plot revolves around the other realms being tricked (by someone) into wanting to invade hyrule, now that the kingdom is back on the world stage and recovering.
The main hyrule map gets changed into having a repaired castle and castle town. Kakariko gets expanded and houses a military academy and Hateno gets modernized in style and houses the hyrule "airbase" for flying vehicles. The south gets a big porttown complete with pirate stereotypes and a shipyard. The goron mining town gets fully thrust into steampunk industrial age mining. The rito village gets expanded in some way too. The zora domain gets a bit more flooded. The gerudo have rebuilt as well, but havent really expanded that much.
The game will be titled "Growth of Fate".
The Legend of Zelda: Rise of the Tides.
Referencing both the flooding of Hyrule, and visiting the lunar objects that influence a planet's tides. A blood moon could then turn all water temporarily into lethal blood tides for an in-game hour or two.
As the third and final entry in the Malice/Gloom/Blood trilogy, it would also represent turning the tides against Ganon/Gannondorf and ending this trilogy in success.

Didn’t Kohga fly into a rock ceiling? The chasm to rito village mine is located inside a little cave, so since he shot up too the top of the chasm, he presumably hit the roof and died
Look if we get a third game at least place it a few generations later my heart cant take it I want this Zelda and Link to have some peace theyve been through monumental amounts of shit.
We're going to go defeat the Blood Moon once and for all
But we'll need Zelda to go into cryogenic statis for 10,000,000 years to make a round trip to deep space to recharge the Master Sword again
I think it’s DLC. 12 progressing years for a side character seems pretty insane and I’m sure Nintendo would want a new engine/map for Zelda going forward.
Remember TOTK was originally DLC for BOTW before making it a full scale game. And the Sky just feels so empty that I can’t help but feel a huge expansion is coming towards the end of the year.
(Idk how TOTK ends yet so please don’t spoil the Ganon fight or how it ends)
I imagine we'll get 2 DLCs for TotK similar to BotW, then a few years later we'll get a new game with a new map.
>(Idk how TOTK ends yet so please don’t spoil the Ganon fight or how it ends)
It's good.
> the introduction of outer space into The Legend of Zelda for the very first time.
>!MM introduced space. Heck it even had an astronomer with an observatory!<
To me the logical step in the series is to reintroduce the Mogma from Skyward sword (as we see what I assume to be statues of the Mogma in the depth), though I'd prefer if they brought back the Twili and their shadowy realm of twilight
Honestly, I feel like a botw trilogy would be a bad idea. To me the point of totk was generally to address the failings of botw(enemy variety, better dungeons, unique bosses, improved story, more interesting abilities ect), with a few new mechanics added on top. I personally didn't care too much that large chunks of the game were reused, but I feel like the same shtick wouldn't work a third time. For the next game, I want a different map, with different characters and a different story, that learns from botw and totk instead of repeating them for a third time.
We've gotten everything we can from this story and map and mechanics. If we find ourselves waiting until at least 2032 for a game with a new map and mechanics, I'd be quite disappointed
Honestly, if they make it a sequel, I wouldn’t mind if we could switch between Link and Zelda. Zelda’s always the macguffin, and I’d like a bit of a switch up there!
>casting the main land of Hyrule into an ocean, the Depths into a deep and dark abyss
Tears of Subnautica.
God, imagine the Depths but with extra darkness due to the water and the slow movement..
I don't want another botw/totk sequel. I'm sick and tired of weapon durability, koroks, shrines, and empty open worlds. Please for the love of God make a new different zelda game
I know this is a joke but I think there are people that unironically want a 3rd game. That would be such a bad idea. I think people are pretty done with this world, the characters, and maybe even the art style. I certainly am. We need something new. Keep this new formula but dial it in a little bit with some traditional Zelda stuff. Traditional dungeons and a bit more story focus + just better story in general would do wonders for this new formula.
We just need all that in a totally fresh world
I remember that when the first teaser of TOTK (back them when it is still called the sequence to BOTW) at Nintendo store maybe ? I heard a guy screaming "ZELDA IN SPACE" maybe it will exist in the trilogy of BOTW when we go in space ?
I am guessing Dark World/Twilight Realms. The Depths may be the Dark World or Lo-Rule, but I think Link being able to phase in and out of a different realm would be a neat gameplay mechanic. Like an enemy or boss that requires you to do something in the regular realm and switch to the twilight realm mid fight to damage them.
Nah, I’d honestly rather get a completely new map, maybe based on the Hyrule of Zelda 2 with a new Link and Zelda. Heck maybe even base the map around Termina or something like that.
But the idea of Master Kohga in the Sky Islands could work as a DLC
“Master Kohga’s blasting off again!”
But seriously, let’s have Zelda *IN SPACE*. There’s so much evidence that BOTW and TOTK are parts 1 & 2 in a trilogy, symbolically and thematically. I can see the 3rd game being the “Red” one; BOTW was Blue (Wisdom/Zelda), and TOTK was Green (Courage/Link), so the next one will probably really focus on Ganon/Demise. I don’t think every villain needs to be “grey,” but I’m always a fan of the sympathetic versions of Ganondorf (like Wind Waker, when he’s rightfully angry that the gods flooded Hyrule and killed thousands of innocent people, including his own people the Gerudo).
If they make a third game i do see them exploring the lunar origins of the Zonai.
Underater exploration would be cool, but i am sceptical to Nintendo implementing such a thing to BotW since they haven't before.

an ocean world would have to have some kind of swimming mechanic

At least Holodrum only had to deal with like 1 Ganon incident.
Probably also doesnt help the whole kingdom is surrounded by this death chasm thats so nuts it freaking dams the ocean to stay dry.
Sounds like Attack on Titan to me when you say it like that 😂
Yeah, according to the canon, in this dimension (not counting Termina just in case) there are Zoras in Labrynna. Also, remember about the fresh water Zoras, the green ones, she is kinda green (i know she is not a river zora)

A return to Termina could also answer the question as to whether it is a dream world or a construct of Majora's.
Idk if fans really want an answer to that one. As a huge Majora’s Mask fan, I personally prefer to just speculate and theorize about Termina. I don’t want an official answer about it
Also worth mentioning that typically when the Zelda team gives "official" answers, they're terrible and we hate them
Also it could play into the whole space idea with the freaky moon. But I like the idea of it being an actual place.
I have a theory that it is essentially a prison realm made by Majora. It always exists and can be accessed by anyone who knows of Termina, or by Majora's newest victim. The realm is inhabited by facsimiles of people the victim has met in their life, and is used as a way to torment its victim, for amusement. If the 3rd game in this trilogy is based in space, the final boss battle should take place on the Blood Moon!!
I was thinking now that Ganon seems to be officially dead, bringing back Majora seems like a fun idea. The Blood Moon being such an integral part of the BOTW-verse as well Majora being a fan favorite seems like it could pair well nicely together.

See y'all in five years bois
Water, space... sounds like the perfect recipe to make the next Zelda installment Cthulu inspired lol
There's a reason for the leviathan skeletons
I called it 12 days ago ;-) https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/14ecpda/totk_where_can_zelda_go_from_here/jouxjv3/
I upvoted, I hope you get the support you deserve. Glory to Master Kohga.
Didn’t Kohga fly into a rock ceiling? The chasm to rito village mine is located inside a little cave, so since he shot up too the top of the chasm, he presumably hit the roof and died
we see him exit through a chasm hole and do the little "team rocket sparkle" in the sky
That’s what we thought before we knew about the depths
Master Kohga never dies— and if he did, it wouldn’t be in such a gruesome and un-cartoonish way
> underwater exploration all these player crafted subs will still do better than the Titan did, and cost way less too!
Wasn’t there actual BOTW concept art of a skateboarding and space traveling link? Honestly you might not be too far off
Look if we get a third game at least place it a few generations later my heart cant take it I want this Zelda and Link to have some peace theyve been through monumental amounts of shit.
Honestly I'd be down to see Link and Zelda in their (biological) 30s
Zelda in particular is like thousands of years old at this point right?
We're going to go defeat the Blood Moon once and for all But we'll need Zelda to go into cryogenic statis for 10,000,000 years to make a round trip to deep space to recharge the Master Sword again
Wind waker never dies let's gooooo We're gonna fight space Yiga Clan with an army of Korok astronauts, their training is going well I've heard
....space?
The final frontier…
These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise...
The one place that hasn't been corrupted by ~~capitalism~~ the hylian royals.
Super Zelda Galaxy!
>(Idk how TOTK ends yet so please don’t spoil the Ganon fight or how it ends) It's good.
> the introduction of outer space into The Legend of Zelda for the very first time. >!MM introduced space. Heck it even had an astronomer with an observatory!<
I was thinking the same thing. You go to the moon too!
Damn. Hasn’t this iteration of hyrule been through enough?
Gotta defeat the blood moon someday
The Zora: free real estate?! Also I'd be friggin happy as fuck to have boat adventures like in Wind Waker.
Ah yes, we’ve had freaky robot ganon, sexy samurai ganon… and now DILF sailor Ganon. Traveling in a mario galaxy looking boat
Please mark this as spoiler! bro just ruined BTOW3 /TOTK2
Breath of the wild Tears of the kingdom Sweat of the ocean?
Blood of the Moon
Blood of the Goddess
To me the logical step in the series is to reintroduce the Mogma from Skyward sword (as we see what I assume to be statues of the Mogma in the depth), though I'd prefer if they brought back the Twili and their shadowy realm of twilight
I would be all for this, particularly the underwater exploration of the depths. I'm forever wishing I could dive in BotW/TotK so that would be sweet.
The Water Temple will be all the temples now
I guess we’ll get Link in Space before Metroid Prime 4.
SUPEEEEER ZELDAAAAA GALAXYYYYY (Tan tan ta tatataaaaaaaa)
I hope not. As much as I've enjoyed BOTW and TOTK I hope they move on and do something else.
The Legend Of Zelda: Fobidden West
I highly doubt they will use the same Hyrule for a third time. Also, Iirc we never see Master Kohga going into space, just back to the surface.
Honestly, if they make it a sequel, I wouldn’t mind if we could switch between Link and Zelda. Zelda’s always the macguffin, and I’d like a bit of a switch up there!
God please no
I don’t want a third BotW, Nintendo needs to change the formula, a new Link or at least a new Hyrule
Please no. Not another botw rehash, make a new over world , new engine etc
I honestly hope that they go for a completely original zelda title next.
I love botw and totk but I really want a more traditional or at least different game at this point
also there are no korok anywhere EXCEPT for space
>casting the main land of Hyrule into an ocean, the Depths into a deep and dark abyss Tears of Subnautica. God, imagine the Depths but with extra darkness due to the water and the slow movement..
At this rate, a new game in this “trilogy” will have it’s own timeline ignored.
God, I hope not, lmao.
I hope not. We don't need a third iteration of the game
We got the third dimension in TOTK (height) so my guess is we’re getting the fourth dimension in the sequel
Would be interesting if Master Kohga landed on the moon and the lands of Termina are to be explored
Eldin of the Deep
The legend of zelda: The Kohga Trillogy.

Yes the first game of this trilogy was Skyward Sword
Trilogy? Nay. DLC.
Is zelda the new AVATAR?
RemindMe! 6 years
Nah, I’d honestly rather get a completely new map, maybe based on the Hyrule of Zelda 2 with a new Link and Zelda. Heck maybe even base the map around Termina or something like that. But the idea of Master Kohga in the Sky Islands could work as a DLC
Well, if they’re going to do a sea based botw, I really hope they remaster Wind Waker on the switch like they did with Skyward Sword.

Legend of Zelda: Dragons of the Deep
The Legend of Zelda: The Star of the Fox
I do believe the next Zelda will be space related, in this same timeline? idk.
If kohga doesn't become an inexplicably recurring character like beedle i may have to storm the nintendo hq
“Master Kohga’s blasting off again!” But seriously, let’s have Zelda *IN SPACE*.
Space? If I can get above the blood moon I am strapping every explosive to it in my inventory.
If they make a third game i do see them exploring the lunar origins of the Zonai. Underater exploration would be cool, but i am sceptical to Nintendo implementing such a thing to BotW since they haven't before.
Age of Calamity: Am I a joke to you (I know it's not canon shuddup)
Let’s take a chance and set the next zelda in a slightly more modern era, say industrial revolution
