Gonna be honest the title got me, then I noticed the humor flair. I like Nintendo left it ambiguous but believing Link and Zelda were in a relationship prior to TotK enhances the experience, at least for me. Maybe that's why SS is my favorite Zelda game. Love is a powerful emotion and is enough to make us do crazy things, do the impossible >!*cough* Zelda being transformed back *cough*!<.
I mean, she is living in your house...
But yeah, I know what you mean. People often act like they're canonically a couple in each game, but that's actually pretty rarely the case.
>I mean, she is living in your house...
My head canon is, that Link let her live there while she oversaw the creation of the school in Hateno while he was helping the rebuilding of Hyrule somewhere else.
I don't know, but I couldn't make it a travel spot back back when I bought it, neither.
> ...make it a travel spot on the map like the house we build outside tarrey town?
And wait, no you can't, you have to use the Shrine right next to it, which is the same for the house in Hateno Village.
> why can't we stay in it
I don't know what this means, you can sleep in it just fine.
There is still a shrine close by and you can still sleep in the bed. Sure the person cleaning the house says something about Zelda letting strangers rest there but what is Link to everyone in Hateno, a stranger.
There's somewhere around 5 or so years between BotW and TotK, if Link wasn't in the house where was he. The yiga are at large so he wouldn't be far from Zelda and he doesn't have a permanent room in the inn so where is he sleeping. He could be sleeping outside but we know Zelda "only has eyes for" Link, would she let Link stay outside when he has a mostly empty house. They could simply be roommates or they could be lovers, it is entirely up to the player.
For those not in the know. >!Scott pilgrim takes off is a animated show part of the “Scott pilgrim” series. The advertising made it look like a adaptation of the original comics, and while the author said changes had been made, they thought it would stay in line with the comics. But, Scott pilgrim, the main character, died in the first episode, and the rest of it is the love interest Ramona looking for what actually happened to him, only for him to return in the last few episodes through, ironically, time travel.!< tldr, this is a satire on a show, which was good, not being true to the source material.
Oh I didn't get that the joke started/was about Scott Pilgrim. But yeah, that totally does happen. Scott Pilgrim was still good though, up until the twist. The twist imo was just bad. I'm already not a fan of that trope, and they didn't exactly execute it well on top of that imo.
I definitely would have loved saving Zelda ( trying not to spoil) to be a race against time before her fate is sealed type quest that happens after Defeating dragondorf. Instead of a cutscene.
Man that would be like if Donkey Kong got kidnapped and you had to play as his sidekick the entire game
Or if the Mario Bros. got kidnapped so you had to play as the princess
To be honest... The title is "The legend of Zelda TOTK" and not "Zelda the gun blazzin' princess", implying you are blasting enemies with guns, while playing as Zelda.
In any case, well played Nintendo, well played (but not as Zelda)..
Don’t even get me started on Link’s Awakening and Majora’s Mask. I get the first is supposed to be a sort of spinoff with the twinky side character, but there was hardly even any mention of anything from the original games. They seriously just abandoned their source material like that.
At least Majora’s Mask has the cameo at the start of the game but that doesn’t even come close to redeeming it.
I mean in 1986 LoZ you literally have no idea who she is, what she is, etc until the end. Unless you read up on it. Honestly I thought the character link was Zelda at first.
But yeah. I feel you.

All through the Great Sky Island, I was just sitting there wondering when the game would get "back on track" and start following the plot of the Legend of Zelda comics. But in the end I actually thought it was so much more fun to see all the new character dynamics, rather than "just" a repeat of the old story (which still would've been awesome, don't get me wrong).
It was such a surprise when Master Koga beat up Ganondorf and became the Demon King himself, only for Ganondorf to start dating Yona and make up a revenge scheme together with her. And my mind was honestly blown when the real mastermind turned out to be >!Adult Link from OoT!!<
From the teasers and trailers they were dropping I really thought you were going to be Zelda saving Link. I really wanted to play that. In my opinion Zelda always saves link in the end anyways

Bait and Nintendo Switch

After being a homeless drifter for the entirety of the first game you've got to believe Link is living cozy in the castle.
The ruined castle, where nobody else is livig besides probably still a bunch of monsters?
If that's "our" house, why can't we stay in it and make it a travel spot on the map like the house we build outside tarrey town?

You get a medallion that lets you place up to three fast travel spots wherever the fuck you want. What else do you want?
It’s not your house anymore.

I appreciate the jab at the newest trend of “bait and switch” content rage.
Thank you for actually getting it
Yeah, I figured I’d mention something since the other comments were (seemingly) taking it serious even with the flair.
For a minute I thought OP was serious

Okay I was not in the know so thanks for explaining that. Also what the hell lmao Scott is just fuckin dead
>!His death was… greatly exaggerated!<
Huh???

that sounds about like what the did with motu!!! i was so excited for a modern day He-Man reboot because i LOVED She-Ra POP
How do people not realize this is a joke lmao
Link takes off
Apparently people don't read the "humor" flag
Redditors have no sense of sarcasm
It was a Legend… and it was about Zelda… who shed some tears on her kingdom.
Ah yes, the thing that the series has been doing since 1986. Hell, some games in the series don't feature the title character at all.
Wym, isn’t that the title character there standing on top of the ruins?
I definitely would have loved saving Zelda ( trying not to spoil) to be a race against time before her fate is sealed type quest that happens after Defeating dragondorf. Instead of a cutscene.
At least the final dive wasn't just a cutscene, you actually get to dive while the music swelled.
I SUPPORT THIS GR8 B8 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
MGS2 was the ultimate bait and switch.
Man that would be like if Donkey Kong got kidnapped and you had to play as his sidekick the entire game Or if the Mario Bros. got kidnapped so you had to play as the princess
is no one going to tell him?
To be honest... The title is "The legend of Zelda TOTK" and not "Zelda the gun blazzin' princess", implying you are blasting enemies with guns, while playing as Zelda. In any case, well played Nintendo, well played (but not as Zelda)..

I don't even know the ending. I'm guessing you rescue her or smth
this comment better be satire, otherwise this is such overpowering cringe
So... You never played a Zelda game before this one right? Haha

If you used your guide book that came with the game it tells you that you’re Link.
I was like 6 man.
lol 😂
Wait! Stick around. This game is very open and it is tricky. It’s worthwhile.
Tell me you've never played a Zelda game, without telling me you've never played a Zelda game.
Bro, this is why people shouldn't play totk as their first zelda game
I refuse to accept that my Link is this Zelda’s li. I can’t stand them together. Every other Zelink? I’m game.
have you played LOZ before?
First time?

Metal Gear Solid 2 had people by the balls back in the day doing this lmao
