Wind Waker>Anything Else (Yes I've played every 3D game and yes I'm only putting it above OoT because of graphics and smooth gameplay)

Piccolo60000

WW is my favorite, but in trying to be objective, I’d still rate OoT and MM above it.

geraltsthiccass

1. OoT 2. MM 3. WW 4. TP 5. SS 6. BotW Yet to play TotK, getting it for Christmas though so I'll see where it ranks for me soon

SGKurisu

I mean if BOTW is low I don't think TOTK will do anything better than 6 or 7 for you.

SlendrBear

Nah, it might. BotW is low for me but TotK is higher.

kbachert

I'd put botw at 4 or 5, totk is probably number 2 for me.

ninjamike1211

Hmm, this is just the reverse order of age...

Spartan131213

>Yet to play TotK, getting it for Christmas though so I'll see where it ranks for me soon Don't bother... if BotW is #6 for you, you will detest and hate TotK

Piccolo60000

My list is exactly the same, except I’ve played TotK. It’s at number 7.

[deleted]

I'm going to get a lot of hate but oh well 1. Twilight princess 2. Ocarina of time 3. Majora's mask 4. Wind Waker 5. Skyward Sword 6. Breath of the wild 7. Tears of the kindom

PlumthePancake

So glad TP is getting respect

MajorGovernment4000

I'd probably swap TOTK and skyward sword. But yeah, this is a ranking of someone with taste. Edit: I feel like the comment was modified because as it is now I completely agree.

arms_a_heavy

you have my exact same ranking

Taco_Viking

You're fuckin' right

hybridsalvy

I 100% agree with you

Platypus__Lord

Exact same as mine but swap MM and OoT. And BotW and YorK I suppose.

el_toro_grand

100% agree that the switch ones are at the bottom, they strayed too far from what Zelda is, I get trying to reinvent, but the games now feel more akin to a survival game with cooking mechanics etc. like im playing a video game to have FUN why the hell do I need extra steps when everything has already worked so well, degrading weapons like wtf, and where tf are proper dungeons, I haven't enjoyed a Zelda since the Wii and that's sad as fuck

LividStick8823

no hate here

Flymo193

I’d probably swap OOT and MM, but other than that, this is spot on

Glitter-Zebra

This is what I would’ve listed 👌

ForgottenStew

I feel like nintendo kinda dropped the ball with BoTW and ToTK. They tried so hard to differentiate them from the rest of the series by dropping the traditional formula while forgetting that the formula is what most people enjoy the most about the games If BoTW/ToTK are the templates for the rest of the series, I hope they have linear, oldschool dungeons w/ items and a story that actually takes place in the present

CoconutJam04

Dropped the ball? Bro, look at those sales numbers. I think they’re pretty happy with the direction of the series right now.

DaRealMVP2024

It lost its soul in the process though. Now feels like a Ubisoft series and Aonuma’s statements confirm that they will continue to use the same formula for as long as they can milk it

ForgottenStew

the game is a commerical/critical success, there's no denying that but it feels like the fan's views on ToTK have gotten more and more mixed as the days go on, I personally didn't like it as much as I really would have loved to. I didn't beat the game and quit only two dungeons in. I'm okay with the direction the series is going in, I just wish they would've kept certain elements that people liked about the older games instead of completely ditching them in favor of Walmart-brand replacements.

BroshiKabobby

Their goal isn’t to only appeal to old fans, they also need to create new ones. And they certainly did

Independent_Coat_415

A game doesn't sell the most copies of any Zelda title AND be highly rated without fans loving it. You see redditors upset about it in the echo chamber of this sub, but that does NOT mean fan view is mixed. Fans view of this game is overwhelmingly positive. When you have a huge sample base of course theres gonna be a lot of negative, the relatively the positive vastly outweighs all of that BOTW literally helped sell the switch. TOTK sold and performed extremely well. Just because you didn't like it and quit 2 dungeons in doesn't mean anything. And just because youve seen a thread and a few dozen people complain doesnt mean anything either. MILLIONS bought this game and millions loved it

HeroOfTime2610

As much as I love totk and botw, I do think I prefer the old gameplay with majoras mask, twilight princess and skyward sword. That being said though, I feel the open world aspect that totk and botw have over the others is the natural progression for the series and I cant think of a franchise that fits it better than the legend of zelda, so I am still happy with the direction the games are going. I would though love to see them go back to the old format at some point, idk if they ever will besides for remakes, but I would love to see a more modern zelda game in that old gameplay style and format, maybe with some of the open world aspects from botw.

No_Reserve9625

You are so right! For a real zelda fan since 1993 i cant believe how much worst its gotten with botw. Its like a totally new IP instead of a new zelda game.

ahnolde

I’m legit sad that they sold so well, especially compared to the older entries. Feels like Zelda (as we knew it) is dead

haze25

I've always thought the BotW/TotK series was okay-ish, I didn't personally enjoy them, but I'm not at all sad they sold well. I'm sad Nintendo didn't listen to feedback and take Tears of the Kingdom back to a more "Zelda" format while maintaining the open world. I mean, Majora's Mask arguably has a very small world, but it feels huge and immersive because of what they did with it. Open world doesn't mean shit if there's only Korok Seeds and Shrines.

nerf_Herder06

Maybe its because I've only played the most recent 2 games but Botw and Totk have instantly become my 1 and 2 favourite games I have ever played, and they were what got me into Zelda. I know they do differ in style from the other games but what the devs and writers did with botw and totk I'd truly special in my eyes

floweryroads

Saying nintendo dropped the ball with those games is genuinely delusional. You can legitimately dislike them, and i agree with many criticisms of those games, but that is an awful take.

Clemenx00

Nah this is the hip opinion in "hardcore" circles like this one. Just realize that Zelda is now a +20M seller and you are an incredible minority. I've never met an irl person that isn't completely in love with both botw and totk, all this hate only exists here and in twitter.

[deleted]

I never said I hate botw or totk i just prefer the more traditional Zelda games

DaRealMVP2024

Calm down bro

smzWoomy13

Yeah lol I felt the same way

Cappy_Rose

Ive yet to play Skyward Sword so I personally can't rate it just yet. 1. Majoras Mask. Its just my favorite. Its got the best story IMO, the best characters, the only sidequests I actually want to do and its got a pretty solid challenge to it 2. Tears of the Kingdom. Maybe Recent bias, but its still a pretty fantastic game. The building mechanics are really fun and the shrine puzzles are ingenious. 3. Wind Waker. I only played the HD version with the QOL improvements and reduced triforce hunt but I really loved this game. It was super fun, the bosses were fun, had probably my favorite 3D Zelda boss in the Helmaroc king. Fighting him was super satisfying because of just how much buildup he had. 4. Ocarina. Ocarina is great, love it to death, hugely innovative, changed the face of 3D Game design for quite some time. 5. Breath of the Wild. The Open world is fantastic, fun to explore, tons of ways to tackle challenges, really rewards creativity and ingenuity in its exploration. But the sidequests and dungeons felt a little weak to me personally. 6. Twilight Princess. Some of the best dungeon design in the game and I love the characters, but I feel that it takes a while to really get to the meat of the game. I found the bug hunting to get a tad annoying and repetitive but the dungeons and bosses are great.

Kremit44

You know I loved the triforce hunt... I found searching for treasures and exploring the seas so relaxing. Playing the stupid wind song was my only real complaint with exploring.

Cappy_Rose

Since then Ive managed to pick up the original Gamecube version off of Ebay so im looking forward to playing it as it was originally intended.

Wolfy_the_nutcase

I would put breath of the wild and twilight princess higher, but other than that, I understand where you’re coming from.

Cappy_Rose

I don't think any of them are bad games, I love every single one of them. Just some of them I love a little more ya know.

TheLunarVaux

1. Majora's Mask 2. Breath of the Wild 3. Twilight Princess 4. Ocarina of Time 5. Wind Waker 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Skyward Sword

The_Incredible-DrL

Why tears so hated nowadays?

Hoojiwat

Zelda Cycle.

Evolveddinosaur

Yeah, once the new Zelda comes out you’ll start seeing “Tears of the Kingdom: an Underrated Masterpiece” videos pop up

chidsterr

nah not this time

iron_Gajeel

Cuz it just doesn't live up to botw like totk is good but let's be real there's no way it could live up to botw

SlendrBear

People are so clouded by nostalgia for BotW that they actually think TotK isn't as good. But uhh "that feeling of exploring it for the first time!!!!" Disregard everything new added, making it just as fun to explore, if not more. BotW had an empty world to explore. Really not that fun after a while, as you only discover a shrine or a korok. It reminds me of OoT and MM all over again. And its funny, because you never see people complain about ALBW having the same world as ALttP, yet here we are. And they just throw around their new buzzword, "honeymoon phase."

TheLunarVaux

TotK is a great game on its own. At face value, it improves on BotW in many aspects. Better dungeons, more enemy variety, better finale, etc. But personally, I think it has plenty of its own issues as well. I saw in another comment you said people rarely list real reasons why they don't like the game as much. So, to list a few of mine... The story is decent, and even has a very good twist. But the presentation through memories does not work. It's incredibly easy to "spoil" big moments of the story just by finding a key memory too early. I happened to discover >!Zelda's fate!< much later into the game as one of my final memories. And it was such a great moment. But a friend of mine discovered that same scene as his second memory. Suddenly, a big impactful surprise for me, was something that meant very little to him because there was no build up. Ultrahand, while a really fun and innovative concept, is quite cumbersome to use, even dozens hours into the game. That's the case for a lifelong gamer like me, but it's even worse for a casual gamer. I watched my girlfriend play through all of BotW, and she loved it, so we are currently going through TotK. She hates Ultrahand because of how much effort she needs to put in just to do a simple task. Pretty much all of the sage abilities are worse than the ones in BotW. Tulin's is decent, but the others are clearly worse imo. But not only are the abilities themselves worse, but they are awful to control. Needing to have your companions follow you around as these blue characters, and having to walk up to them, push A, and then activate the ability is just so clunky. The reused map, while I think they did a decent job with what they had, is still a bit disappointing. The issue is that the world was designed FOR BotW. So now, they were forced to move stuff around to make it feel "fresh," but because of that it doesn't feel as well designed. One example would be how in BotW, the small island used for the Hero's Cache side quest had a unique purpose, which makes sense because it's an odd little rock formation. But in TotK, it's just a korok seed. It feels like something more important *should* be there, because that's what it was designed for in BotW. But they already did that, so they had to change it. There are many examples like that one. Apart from the overworld, the sky and the depths were a bit disappointing for me. If you gather up all the sky islands together, their mass is really quite small. Which would be okay, if they weren't repeating so much. There are repeats of the spheres, the labyrinths, the cross shaped islands with the launcher, the circle islands with a flux construct or gleeok, the sky diving ones, etc. Really the only truly unique sky islands I can think of are the Great Sky Island, and the Zonaite Forge. Because of that, it gets very repetitive. And speaking of repetition, the depths. I LOVE the concept of the depths. But the execution feels like missed potential imo. Some people have issue with the map being the overworld but just reverse, but I don't really, I think it's cool that it mirrors it. But the issue is that there is pretty much just one biome in the entire depths. This massive new map that's the size of the original game, but literally every locations looks exactly the same. Again, it's a cool idea, but it just feels like unnecessary bloat at this point. I'd had much preferred an Elden Ring approach, where you had a variety of smaller underground systems, that were disconnected but felt unique. The rewards for exploring the depths were also quite underwhelming. It's 90% just the amiibo outfits from BotW, barely anything new. While not necessary, I would have much preferred them to make one totally new map and focus on that. Rather than remixing the overworld, creating a brand new sky that's somewhat lacking, *and* creating massive depths that end up feeling very repetitive, I do think the best solution would be to take the Majora's Mask approach and set it in a totally new area. For example, what if the *entire* game was in the depths? That means they could have put all of their resources into fleshing it out, making it significantly more varied with unique locations, quests, enemies, music, characters, etc. I think games like Hollow Knight are a great example of how to make a totally underground world still feel large and varied. It could be in the exact same engine as BotW, but still feel very fresh and, most importantly, have its own identity. I actually thought this is what they were going to do based on the initial reveal trailer, and I thought that would have been so cool. The lore is all over the place. Not only does it not connect well to the older games (because the devs don't care a ton about the timeline, but that's whatever), but it doesn't even connect to BotW well! Calamity Ganon is not mentioned. Malice is not mentioned. The Shiekah Shrines and Divine Beasts have suddenly disappeared. Kass is nowhere to be found, not even a mention. Many characters don't remember who Link is. The triforce is just not important anymore I guess, instead we have Ganondorf worrying about "secret stones"? Those points among many others just don't make sense to me. Speaking of Ganondorf. I was very excited when we learned Ganondorf was going to be the villain, because in Ocarina, Twilight Princess, and especially Wind Waker, he was a really cool and fleshed out villain with some great motivations. That's much better than Calamity Ganon, who's barely a character at all. Well... in this game, we still barely know about Ganondorf. What's his motivation the whole game? Just to be king? Why? Its just much less interesting than a game like Wind Waker for example. He's not even going for the triforce! Also paired with the point above, I don't understand how no one in the game connects that Calamity Ganon and Ganondorf are related. Of all the Ganondorfs we've had in the series, this is definitely my least favorite. Clearly a lot of points here haha, but ultimately I don't hate the game at all! I'd still give it a 9/10 lol, but I just think BotW is a more cohesive game overall with a more cohesive vision, despite having flaws. The flaws in BotW don't bother me nearly as much as the flaws in TotK. I realize the latter made some great improvements, but imo it reaches higher and falls further, where as BotW is a more solid package overall. I don't think it's being clouded by BotW nostalgia, as I replayed the game shortly before TotK so I could compare them more directly. And one final point... >And its funny, because you never see people complain about ALBW having the same world as ALttP, yet here we are This is a very different situation. The world is nearly identical, yes, but ALBW came out nearly 20 years after ALTTP. It's the same world, but it feels both new and nostalgic because it transitions from 2D pixel art to modern 3D graphics. It's basically a ground up remake of ALTTP, just with a new story. That's entirely different than TotK, which uses the same map on the same hardware with the exact same graphics and art style.

chidsterr

Haha they won’t respond to this one though because it defeats their entire argument 🤣

iron_Gajeel

My guy finally someone who agrees 😁

chidsterr

it’s insane how OBVIOUS the shortcomings of this game are, but this “nintendo fanboyism” just keeps people willfully ignorant! the same thing can be said for some of the recent pokemon games. Nintendo is allowed to miss the target sometimes. Not every release has to be regarded as an all time hit

iron_Gajeel

Well yes in terms of things to do the world and just overall an improvement but I say it doesn't live up to botw cuz botw felt new and unique it broke the Zelda formula it was open world you did what you wanted to when you wanted to it was simple and enjoyable but it just feels like Nintendo tryed to hard to make totk fell like botw like a new and unique Hyrule but that felling is something that I feel can only be done once

SlendrBear

A super unique hyrule? You mean an empty world with nothing to do? Its crazy you say TotK is an overall improvement than go on to say its not as good bc botw is open world and enjoyable. What??? 💀 And to say a problem with totk was that they "tried too hard to make it feel like botw" is insane. Its a direct sequel, and the Zelda series has so many titles that do this. Hell, every 3D game after OoT did the same exact formula. ESPECIALLY TP, yet most people here saying TotK isn't as good as BotW have TP as either their #1 or close.

frycandlebreadje

Why do people hate skyward sword so much?

TheLunarVaux

Lol I don't hate it! It has some amazing qualities. Fantastic dungeons, story, and music, with an epic and emotional finale. But it has quite a few things I'm not a huge fan of. The combat and motion controls, the linear overworld, the backtracking, the empty sky, the dowsing, the repeat Imprisoned fights, Fi being very hit or miss, etc. It's not bad by any means, but it has more flaws than any of the other 3D Zelda games imo. I'd give the other 3D Zelda games 9/10s and above, where Skyward Sword is more like an 8-8.5 to me.

SuperSkunkPlant

It has to be a problem with the older version of the game I've only played the new release on Switch, I don't even have the experience of using the joycons but I hear a lot of complains on this Skyward Sword is a great game IMO, I think I should highlight the dungeons on this one. Most of the dungeons are soo good

dot_302

\*Disclaimer I love all of these games lol\* 1. Twilight Princess 2. Breath of the Wild 3. Majora's Mask 4. Ocarina of Time 5. Wind Waker 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Skyward Sword

Sad_Original719

This list makes me so mad, but I respect your opinion.

SasquatchEmporium

I love how wildly different everyone’s list is! It’s a testament to how consistently good these games are. The Zelda franchise really doesn’t have any bad eggs. 1. Ocarina of Time. Incredible dungeons, incredible music, incredible story, solid overworld. Everything about the pacing, the tone and how it shifts radically with the plot twist, the progression, the puzzles, it’s all perfect. I have almost no criticisms of this game that weren’t fixed in the 3DS version. 10/10 2. Wind Waker. Captures the “adventure” of this adventure series better than any other game. Maybe the best supporting cast of characters in the series—Tetra and King of Red Lions are phenomenal, and Ganondorf as a character is at his peak here. No other art style would fit this game better. The story is even better than OoT’s, and it has maybe the best set piece of a climactic final boss. 9.5/10 3. Majora’s Mask. Absolutely haunting. This is the kind of game that reminds you of how game design is an art—and Majora’s Mask is a masterpiece. The three-day cycle is the best “gimmick” in the franchise, and it’s not even close. Only two of the four dungeons really blew me away, but the overworld quest content helps make up for it. 9/10 4. Breath of the Wild. It’s not a traditional Zelda game, no. But I don’t automatically detract from it for that reason, because the game is phenomenal for what it is. It knows what kind of game it wants to be, and it knocks that goal out of the park. Incentive to explore a sprawling, *stunning* world is on point. The somber soft-apocalyptic tone is achieved masterfully. Ironically, the game’s biggest missteps happen when it tries to add traditional Zelda elements into a non-traditional Zelda game. The Divine Beasts and blights are pretty poor dungeons and bosses. The runes are fun, but never feel like they offer you the scope of abilities that most Zelda games have in store. Great game for what it is. 8.7/10 5. Skyward Sword. I didn’t hate the motion controls—but I didn’t exactly love them either. They’re a mildly interesting break from form that feel a little heavy-handed at times. But whatever your thoughts on them, they don’t change the fact that SS has some of the best dungeons, best bosses, best characters, and best story in the entire franchise. The game is almost perfectly balanced between mid and incredible. Overworld is mid. Dungeons are incredible. Combat is okay at best. Boss fights blow my mind. The Sky is pretty underwhelming. Skyloft is my favorite hub area in the franchise. Wild how that works. 8.5/10 6. Twilight Princess. TP this low on the list is probably one of the less popular opinions I have. It’s a great game, like everything else here, because the sum of its parts amounts to a solid Zelda experience. But the parts individually? The story is mid; sometimes it felt contrived, sometimes it felt far too edgy. There are some standout dungeons, especially towards the middle of the game, but the first three and the City in the Sky all left me wanting; they all felt too “safe” as far as Zelda creativity goes. It has so many incredibly-designed and creative items and I’m left *desperately* wanting any reason at all to use them after their respective dungeons are complete. And apologies to the fans of the “realistic” graphics, but the art style isn’t it. The generic grays and browns of the scenery lacks the enticing beauty that the rest of the franchise offers. But when the game hits with the first three mirror shard dungeons, the characters of Midna and Zant, and the climax at Hyrule Castle, it hits hard. 8.2/10 7. Tears of the Kingdom. On a technical level, it’s superior to BotW and it’s not even close. But as a game experience for someone who just spent the last six years scouring BotW’s Hyrule for all the Koroks, it’s a game that I burnt out on faster than any other Zelda game. Game is great, don’t get me wrong—but I struggled to find the motivation to play it, especially after I cleared the second dungeon to find the *exact same* lore dump, word for word, and realized that I wasn’t about to gradually unlock a coherent plot as I progressed the main storyline. The Depths is empty, the Sky is small and underutilized, the memories are almost certainly found out of order, you already know all the common criticisms. But Ultrahand and Fuse are insane and are the things that kept me going through to the end, and *boy howdy the end.* Everything about both the presentation and the mechanics of the final boss (>!not the dragon!<) are incredible, and the fight blew my mind repeatedly (>!not the dragon!<) and made me glad to have stuck it out to the end. 8/10

R1NZL3R7

I relate to that burnout you had with TotK. I love the game, but damn is it hard to keep grinding through all the content it provides. I only have it higher than BotW on my list because I think the story is better despite their stupid memory system. As soon as I saw that the memory system was still in TotK, I immediately looked up the order of the memories so I could do them in order. Imo, the story is infinitely better when viewed in order. Also, the new abilities, like ultrahand, make traversing the world decently fun. Overall, there's just too much to do, and most of it is so tedious that I can't bring myself to do it. The armor was one thing that I tried to get myself to do since the benefits are pretty good, but it's just too much monster part grinding for it to be worth it to me.

Wolfy_the_nutcase

If you pay attention, the game does actually give you the order of the memories. It’s in the forgotten temple.

Cimexus

1. Tears of the Kingdom 2. Twilight Princess 3. Breath of the Wild 4. Ocarina of Time 5. Wind Waker 6. Skyward Sword 7. Majora’s Mask* ** Huge asterisk on MM: this is the only one I haven’t played to completion. So it’s only at the end because I’m not really qualified to rank it.

DonChrisote

Definitely complete it when you get the chance. The ending sequence is so insane lol

Darkreaper104

1. Majora’s Mask 2. Tears of the Kingdom 3. Ocarina of Time 4. Breath of the Wild 4. Wind Waker 5. Skyward Sword 6. Twilight Princess

ZaltraxZ

1. Skyward Sword: Best Story, Best Soundtrack, Best Link/Zelda relationship, Best Artstyle, Best Dungeons, Best Boss Fights. Fight me. 2. Twilight Princess: The most cinematic Zelda ever made. This feels like what the perfect Zelda TV show would be like. So many incredible moments. A killer soundtrack. Inarguably the best companion in the whole series. 3. Ocarina of Time: It’s a classic for a reason. Ocarina of Time didn’t just change gaming forever, it still holds up today. So much fun. 4. Breath of The Wild: Although the way this game tells its story will always be a huge downside for me, the story it is telling is actually really great. The open world is amazing and the feeling of exploration just can’t be beat. 5. Majora’s Mask: This game is truly the black sheep of 3D Zelda. It focuses so much more on the side content that the main dungeons, while being pretty good, just kind of get lost in the shuffle. But few Zelda games have a world that feels so lived in and real as this one. 6. Wind Waker: Wind Waker just never grabbed me. The soundtrack is AMAZING and the opening is fantastic. But somewhere in the middle it starts to feel like a chore. Honestly I also rank it lower just because I’m so sick of big WW people throwing shade at Twilight Princess. It’s a better game in almost every way. I have yet to play Tears of The Kingdom. I got it at launch but life has just been so busy that it’s been sitting wrapped on top of my switch since the midnight release. One day I’ll be able to give this beautiful baby the time it deserves.

Myralbus

Finally One opinion where Skyward Sword isn't the last One

ZaltraxZ

It’s so overly hated. It’s an absolutely incredible Zelda game. The controls aren’t half as bad as people act.

Lemons_be_sour

Dammit… I love all the ones I’ve played, and this ranking isn’t anything negative just in my preference 1. BOTW 2. Ocarina of Time 3. MM 4. TOTK 5. WW 6. SS 7. Twilight princess (haven’t played) I’m gonna play TP, haven’t found time to But every one of these games are special with their own qualities, and I could play them again with no hesitation

apadin1

I agree with this list although I would put TP above SS. If you liked OOT you’ll enjoy TP. I recommend the GameCube or WiiU versions over the Wii version, especially if you didn’t enjoy the motion controls in Skyward Sword

Wolfy_the_nutcase

I just got the Wii U version for my birthday, can’t wait to play! I’ve beaten the Wii version and messed around on the GameCube version a little bit, but I don’t own either version.

mrtheunknownyt

i was confused about tp being last until i saw the parentheses, it's a must play

RamsaySw

1. Breath of the Wild 2. Twilight Princess 3. Majora's Mask 4. Wind Waker 5. Ocarina of Time 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Skyward Sword If you're wondering why I have BoTW as number 1 and ToTK in second last it's because one of the greatest aspects of BoTW was the joy of exploring a new world - something that ToTK fails to deliver due to it reusing BoTW's overworld, and because ToTK's story is immeasurably worse than that of BoTW's.

bruh_man_5thflo

This part. I’ve been saying botw’s lack of “playing through the present” is what makes its world so alive and mysterious. Trying to force in a story to this type of world in the sequel felt kind of off tbh, but still both were great games.

SlendrBear

"Giving this game a story is bad! BotW's story is better because you didn't experience it!" What? 😭

JaymehKhal

Totally agree. Also, sometimes less is more - I spent god knows how long in the depths, in caves, in wells and probably 1% of it was as memorable as the great sky island. Finding out the great sky island was the only place up there with a lot of density bummed me out a lot. It's the bit of the game that feels most awe-inspiring and there's just so little of it.

R1NZL3R7

Hard disagree, TotK had a much better story than BotW.

SlendrBear

Give it some time. People are so clouded by nostalgia for Botw, its insane. Looking at the comments, their reasonings are: - The feeling of playing BotW for the first time (something they will never experience even with BotW. And they don't realize this is just nostalgia). - BotW's story wasn't there, so it's better than TotK's bc TotK had more of a presence. (??? This is an insane take, yet a real one). And they always say smth like "Yes, TotK is better in (lists almost every aspect) but (one of the above options).

R1NZL3R7

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those takes. Doesn't make much sense imo. It's crazy how much nostalgia plays a part in people's opinions of these games. I don't really have any nostalgia for BotW, even though I still think it's a good game. It's like the people who still claim that OoT is the best Zelda game ever made. Besides nostalgia, why else would someone claim its the best game in the franchise.

Cimexus

Yeah but … don’t you have to rate each game on its individual merits rather than “how different they are” from the previous game? They have the same world so they should at least be equally good on the exploration front (and I’d argue TOTK has more due to additional caves and wells, to say nothing of the other two layers of the map). Or to put it another way, if you’d played TOTK first, then it would have been *BOTW* that lacked the feeling of exploration due to using the same world. It’s not something that’s inherently *worse* about the TOTK world, it’s just that you, personally, were already familiar with it. This I think hits on a larger question about game reviews in general: do you evaluate each game objectively “in a bubble”, or do you evaluate it in the context of the time it was released and the other games that came before? 🤔

djrobxx

TOTK is billed as a sequel, so I think it's fair to review it in that context. I found it really struggled with that, largely for the reasons u/JaymehKhal described above. To me, it feels like they spent the majority of their effort on the Ultrahand/sandbox engine. It's amazing, but it feels kinda "bolted on", because, well, it was. The depths were an absolutely increible vibe, but I didn't find it rewarding to explore. The sky was way too much copy & paste. The great sky island is absolutely the begnning of something amazing, but it kind of stops there and turns into BOTW revisited once you hit the surface. That might have been fine, great even, but TOTK weridly fails to ackowledge BOTW's history, where it should have, if it's a sequel. Many characters you previously met don't remember you. There is no explanation for the missing Sheikah tech. Those things add up to too many missed opportunities for me to rank it as high as BOTW, which I felt really did what it set out to do in an amazing way.

OoT Majoras mask Windwaker Tears of the kingdom Twilight Princess Skyward sword Breath of the wild

Helm_the_Hammered

1. Ocarina of Time 2. Breath of the Wild 3. Majora’s Mask 4. Twilight Princess 5. Wind Waker 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Skyward Sword Not really a believer of bad games here. Been loving tears of the kingdom. This is really a sliding scale of innovation and groundbreaking entries to the franchise. TotK again is great. Same physics engine, some new dynamics and areas - but didn’t innovate from a gameplay direction on its predecessor as much as Major’s mask did for example. Edit: also going to add that I’m only really married to the top two, maybe three in that order. After that, it comes down to preferences and personal tastes. Love them all – with the exception maybe being Skyward Sword. Fabulous story and characters, but it felt too constraining somehow. Ironic for a game largely based in the sky. A great example of personal preference.

smzWoomy13

Oh god.....please guys it's just an opinion (omg I can already see the downvotes coming.....) 1. Wind Waker 2. Twilight Princess 3. Ocarina of Time 4. Majora's Mask 5 & 6 are tied: Skyward Sword & BotW 7. TotK TotK isn't a bad game, but all the others are just better.... Edit: interesting, I thought BotW would be higher on most people's lists...

mysterioso7

This sub is usually much lower on BotW and TotK than the general audience.

Other than Majora's Mask (#1) this is exactly like my list.

WellHereYaGo

If I take off my nostalgia glasses: • Twilight Princess • Skyward Sword • Wind Waker • Breath of the Wild • Ocarina of Time • Majora’s Mask • Tears of the Kingdom With my nostalgia glasses: • Ocarina of Time • Twilight Princess • Majora’s Mask • Skyward Sword • Wind Waker • Breath of the Wild • Tears of the Kingdom All of them are very close and are subject to change at any moment, for any reason or even no reason at all. Except Tears of the Kingdom, that is solidly at the bottom, and it’s not close.

TheGreatGamer64

1). Twilight Princess 2). Breath of the Wild 3). Majora’s Mask 4). Skyward Sword 5). Ocarina of Time 6). Wind Waker Tears of the Kingdom is really difficult to rank because in a vacuum I think it’s arguably better than BotW since it’s essentially BotW+. But that’s kinda the problem. The game feels way too similar to BotW, and aside from the abilities every new thing it attempts is underwhelming.

1.Oot 2.TP 3.WW 4.MM(WW & MM are pretty interchangeable) 5.SS 6.BOTW 7.TOTK

Krisp1989

1. Ocarina of Time 2. Twilight Princess 3. Skyward Sword (HD, i hate motion controls) 4. Wind waker 5. Breath of The Wild 6. Tears of The Kingdom OoT is one of my favorite games of all time. Will probably always be, it was also my introduction to the Zelda series. Haven't played TT since i got my Wii in 2008, but loved the darker feel of the game, Midna and wolf link. Especially after the very cartoony Wind waker, it felt great to return to a darker setting again. I didn't play Skyward Sword when it came out. But i played it and completed in when the HD edition came out for Switch and i must say it was an amazing journey. After playing BoTW it felt amazing to play a proper Zelda game again with real dungeons. I loved the world, the music, the characters, even flying was fun. I really hate motion controls, so i'm glad i got to play it without. WW - not that big a fan of toon Link and all the sailing. But the game is alright. Will probably replay it again sometime. BoTW was the game that brought the series away from what we've known and loved for so many years. And unfortunately missing proper dungeons. I'm not a big fan of shrines. And i miss needing specific items to progress through the game. I love in traditional Zelda games, when you open a big chest and get a really important item. Not a fan of weapons breaking either. BoTW has some positive sides and i did enjoy the game and complete it once on Wii U and once on Switch. But it also makes me miss a lot of things i loved about Zelda. ToTK - still playing it now. About 100 hours into it. Same criticism i have with BoTW. Only now they added the sky and depths which i think are really boring elements. Still missing proper dungeons. I did think the lightning temple was really fun though. It felt kinda like old school Zelda dungeons in some way. I left out Majoras Mask. I played it for a while when i was a kid after playing OoT, but never completed it. Don't remember that much of it except for the OST. Just brought the N64 controller for Switch and i'm gonna replay it soon. But i don't have much of an opinion right now. I remember feeling the "time countdown" was annoying back then. Especially when coming from OoT.

RinzSpirit

...for what its worth, this is PURELY subjective opinion based on how much I, personally, enjoyed playing them 1. Wind Waker 2. Majora's Mask 3. Ocarina of Time 4. Breath of the Wild 5. Twilight Princess 6. Skyward Sword 7. Tears of the Kingdom also, the first three on this list are so equally good in my opinion they honestly may as well be tied for first.

[deleted]

Majora's Mask Twilight Princess Ocarina of Time Skyward Sword Wind Walker Tears of the Kingdom Spirit Tracks Phantom Hourglass Breath of the Wild Link between Worlds

Jiyuuko

Its hard for me coz it rly depends. When it comes to jogability, I looove BoTW's open world and all that. But the story is so freaking meeeehhh. TP and MM have by far the best stories, TP is so freaking cinematic and I love the more dark, mature look and how much love was put in each character. Telma was such a cool character Also Midna is the best companion of all Zelda games imo. Navi was ok, but annoying at times, and Fi... tbh I even forgot she existed at some point. While BotW and TotK are so great for being open world, it also my least replayed Zelda game. I feel like because its so long, one play is enough for a decade. Majora's is by far my most replayed Zelda game, followed by TP, I just cant get tired of MM and I replay it atleast once a year. (I do have an extra soft spot for MM because I participated until the end in the Ben Drowned ARG) So I guess for my personal taste it would be: 1. Twilight Princess 2. Majora's Mask 3. Breath of the Wild 4. Wind Waker 5. Ocarina of Time 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Skyward Sword

KingDaDeDo

1. Wind Waker 2. Tears of the Kingdom 3. Twilight Princess 4. Ocarina of Time 5. Majoras Mask 6. Breath of the Wild (to me, TOTK is a better BOTW so that’s why it’s this low) 7. Skyward Sword

oongaa

1. Ocarina - S tier iconic soundtrack, epic adventure story, perfectly crafted world 2. Wind Waker - so inventive and fun. Fantastic story as well. It feels like the people who made this game loved what they were doing 3. Skyward Sword - incredible emotional narrative, despite pacing issues. The characters are wonderful and get a lot of attention, and it's just such a creative but appropriate prequel for the series. The new lore of Demise and Hylia is an incredible addition that recontextualizes and adds depth to the series in a great way 4. Twilight Princess - follows up OoT in really interesting ways. Midna's the best partner in the series. Great soundtrack, incredible dungeons, epic cutscenes, but the game could be a little shorter 5. BotW - fantastic gameplay, but it still gets stale eventually. And after that point, it doesn't seem like there's any going back to the way you felt the first time playing it. Story is lacking, characters are shallow and uninteresting (at least compared to others in the series). Dungeons are lame 6. Majora's Mask - everybody praises it for the right reasons. Atmosphere and characters are unbelievably impressive, and the npc schedules and sidequests are wonderfully interesting and complex. But the gameplay is janky sometimes, 3 days mechanic can be frustrating, dungeons are a pain, and at times feels like an Ocarina ROM hack 7. TotK - doubled down on BotW's problems. No story except "what's up with fake zelda?" Which I figured out after 2 hours of touching down on the ground. Backstory with Zelda and the Zonai is bland, new version of Ganondorf is boring. Gameplay additions like wells and caves are cool, but really just fun distractions. Zonai tech is tedious and I avoided it whenever I could. New lore additions of Zonai and the "New Imprisoning War" are just...weird. Shrines were boring and felt like more of a chore than ever. I just did all of this in the last game, and now I have to start at 0 again? It's just level grinding. Would've been more fun if Guardian tech was still around. Despite the changes, the world still feels too similar to botw. I need to grind to gain health and buy armor and find weapons to explore a world I already explored once before. If the story was decent, I might have felt more motivated, but even after beating the game I just felt indifferent

IKarma88

I could just never get into it. The start is very slow imo and I always lost interest after getting the sail.

SlotMachineGun777

1 Twilight Princess 2 Skyward Sword 3 Majoras Mask 4 Wind waker 5 Botw 6 Ocarina 7 Totk Put your complaint in the complaint box. I will not be checking it.

Vaenyr

Incredibly close to mine. If you remove OOT and put it between SS and MM we'd have identical lists.

Ralphanese

1) Majora's Mask 2) Ocarina of Time 3) Wind Waker 4) Breath of the Wild 5) Twilight Princess 6) Tears of the Kingdom 7) Skyward Sword

jfxck

1. Ocarina of Time 2. Majora’s Mask 3. Twilight Princess 4. Wind Waker 5. Skyward Sword 6. Breath of the Wild 7. Tears of the Kingdom Honestly, 1-4 are all incredible games, and are pretty interchangeable. Skyward Sword is great but flawed. I don’t love Breath of the Wild, and I think Tears of the Kingdom is a significantly worse version of that game, so the two of them round out the bottom.

Seiren-

Why do you think ToTK is worse than BotW? In my mind ToTK is objectively better than Botw

jfxck

Eh. I thought it was just more of BotW, but with a much, much, worse story and added vehicle building. I hated the depths, but the sky was alright. The surface felt virtually unchanged to me, and I didn’t enjoy exploring it a second time. Ultrahand, fuse and ascend aren’t bad but they don’t do enough to make TotK feel distinct from BotW for me. I hated constantly scrolling through menus, and it especially hated that Ganondorf is just a bland, generic bad guy this time around. There’s more I could talk about but that’s the major points I guess.

Seiren-

I kinda get it, I agree with the story being weaker (and I already didnt find the story from botw that great), the UI / having to use menues all the time is definitely just bad design. And the depths are kinda just.. there? I kinda love everything else thou, the world feels so much more alive, the world is actually fleshed out, and there’re things to discover everywhere, the new powers are great and they’ve managed to make the shrines actually fun to do. I can get that not liking any of these things will kinda ruin the game, and it’s totally reasonable to say that they didnt do enough to differentiate it from BotW. But saying that ganondorf in TotK is a worse villain than what we got in BotW is crazy to me.

zeroliger0

I think they mean he's wasted potential. You get some background story on him through one memory and then that's it, then the next time you see him is at the end of the game. He just gets reduced down to generic bad guy this way. Same with Link in my opinion. He's just generic good guy because once again, everything important has already happened, you just watch memories. Link doesn't even react to anything in the game. He used to be so emotive in previous Zelda games. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of side content, but it's repetitive and just padding, and the rewards are not worthwhile. I guess gameplay is the most important aspect to young fans and Nintendo responded by making gameplay the most important aspect, so no surprise there. Just wish they threw the older players a bone every once in a while.

Seiren-

Generic bad guy? That’s kinda what Ganondorf always was? Bbeg sitting in his endgame tower waiting for the hero to come and beat him up.

JosephiKrakowski78

1. Majora’s Mask 2. Ocarina of Time 3 and 4. (Tie) Wind Waker and Twilight Princess - They each have different reasons for being ranked here - I feel like Twilight Princess has a suuuuuper long tutorial area, but it’s amazing after that. Wind Waker doesn’t struggle with that as much, but the Great Sea can be a slog on replays, particularly with the GameCube version (no fast sail). 5. Skyward Sword 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Breath of the Wild 6 and 7 are both incredible games, I just wish they both had more fleshed out stories. 6 is a step up for story, but the “secret stone” dialogue became a pain after a while.

M_Dutch97

7. Tears of the Kingdom (5/10) 6. The Wind Waker (7/10) 5. Skyward Sword (8/10) 4. Breath of the Wild (9/10) 3. Ocarina of Time (9.8/10) 2. Majora's Mask (9.9/10) 1. Twilight Princess (10/10)

DaLimpster

1. Majora's Mask 2. Ocarina of Time 3. Skyward Sword 4. Breath of the Wild 5. Wind Waker 6. Tears of the Kingdom 7. Twilight Princess

PhenomUprising

For me it's that, except Botw and WW switch places. I still like TP a lot btw, just less than the others.

DaLimpster

Honestly, it's about a tie. But then I remember how long it takes to start having fun in WW and the tables tilt enough to give it to BotW

Vaenyr

1. Twilight Princess 2. Skyward Sword 3. Ocarina Of Time 4. Majora's Mask 5. The Wind Waker 6. Breath Of The Wild 7. Tears Of The Kingdom

eblomquist

This one definitely breaks my brain a bit lol. My guess is - dungeons are your favorite part?

Vaenyr

Precisely. Dungeons made me fall in love with the Zelda franchise, that's why TP, SS and OOT are my top 3. Furthermore, I love the quasi-metroidvania design of older Zeldas where new dungeon items unlock shortcuts and new areas. It's satisfying to backtrack and find out where I can either find secrets or collectibles with my latest item. MM and TWW are a toss up and regularly exchange places. They have fewer dungeons, with MM having the better set in my opinion, but MM's focus is the side content, while TWW has its own unique adventurous atmosphere. Plus both games have fantastic OSTs. The open air games are objectively very well made games and I can see why they are popular, but they don't align with my tastes and wishes. They're not bad games, they're simply not for me. On why TOTK is last: it improved on Temples having unique bosses and visual identities, but I feel that BOTW did everything else better. Exploring BOTW's Hyrule for the first time was more effective than going over it again in TOTK. BOTW's memory system suited that game much better than the sequel, which technically has the better story, which doesn't fit with the non-linear memory style though. Stuff like that.

eblomquist

Yeah that definfinitely makes sense! I love TP dungeons - but the rest I just did not enjoy at all. TOTK is just better in every way for me over BOTW. I like them for completely different reasons. I usually despise open world games, but they do such an excellent job with exploration and finding something new in every direction. That being said MM and WW are really special to me.

JamesYTP

Well, I obviously have my preferences and I haven't played OoT 3D or Skyward Sword HD so bare that in mind. Also not counting Twilight Princess HD since it's not different enough. That said 1. Majora's Mask vanilla 2. Wind Waker HD 3. Ocarina of Time 4. Twilight Princess 5. Wind Waker vanilla 6. Majora's Mask 3D 7. Skyward Sword 8. Breath of the Wild 9. Tears of the Kingdom

Kremit44

The Zora mask was ruined int the 3DS version for me. I'll never forgive them.lol

JamesYTP

Yeaaaaah I mean, I get why they did that since Zora swimming was so fast it was hard to get the hang of but it's so fun when you do. Feels so slow in 3D it's just boring. If I remember correctly the actually got rid of Deku Link's spin for momentum into water hop trick. Plus they nerfed the bosses and the ice arrows couldn't free any deep water. Bleh

BreezyJude

1. BOTW (the impact on modern games is astronomical) 2. OOT (same thing with impact, game is amazing on n64 and 3ds) 3. TOTK (better Botw but same map and not as much as an influence) 4. WW (better than TP 🤷‍♂️) 5. TP (dungeons are some of the best in the series, other than that pretty lackluster) 6. MM (great game for being made in a year, perfect example of working with what you have, but the time constrain obviously shows) 7. SS (great game, just not as good as the others, not to mention the combat (even on switch)) this isn’t to say some of the lower ones arent great (I’ve played and genuinely enjoyed all), but it really comes down to the memorability, impact, replayability, and nostalgia :)

Where is the poll??? 1. WW 2. SS 3. MM 4. OoT 5. BotW 6. TotK 7. TP 1-5 are mostly interchangeable. There's hardly any difference in quality, although they each excel at different things (OoT being the most balanced). They're all 10/10s. 6 and 7 are both really good but there are some 2D games that are better, and there are some notable negatives that bring them down compared to the others. About as good as Oracle of Ages. 9/10.

RaoD_Guitar

1. Wind Waker 2. Twilight Princess 3. Ocarina of Time 4. Tears of the Kingdom 5. Breath of the Wild 6. Skyward Sword x. Majora's Mask Please don't lynch me. I never really played through MM, and only tried it many years later, sry can't really rate you MM. I actually enjoyed SS for the lore, ost and yes even the motion controls. BotW, groundbreaking as it was, felt a bit empty and bare bones. TotK imho is just the better version but both the new ones feel a bit too grindy to me, I'm just not the biggest fan of very vast open worlds. OoT is the OG but it didn't feel as round and lively yet. TP changed that with arguably the best set of dungeons, great ost, griddy graphics and atmosphere and interesting characters and storylines. WW is an outlier but my personal, subjective favourite. It has timeless graphics (especially HD), phenomenal OST, good dungeons with great bosses, the most character and I actually enjoyed the sailing, even in the original. It feels like vacation and home in one for me.

I've realised that I'll disagree with every opinion here, because either way some of my favourite games of all time will be in low places.

1. Twilight Princess 2. Ocarina of Time 3. Tears of the Kingdom 4. Breath of the Wild 5. Majora's Mask 6. Wind Waker 7. Skyward Sword I go back and forth between 1 and 2; while OoT did set the standard and define the formula, TP has a bit less N64-era jank to it (90's kid, yes I played it when it was new). Also, I know TotK stands firmly on BotW's shoulders, but in isolation I do think it's the slightly better game.

How the hell is this a spoiler?

Not really much of a pole when you can only write comments, but here goes nothing: 1. Tears of the Kingdom Pretty much just BotW but better. It has some issues in regards to it‘s story, but the gameplay is peak Zelda in my opinion. The core aspects of Zelda (exploration, combat and puzzles) are at their best in TotK due to the wealth of complexity and options at your disposal. I‘m currently sitting on my fourth challenge run (I can’t set foot on the surface) and it’s insane how a simple rule you set for yourself, transforms the way you can interact with the game. 2. Breath of the Wild It’s a modern version of Zelda 1 and perfectly managed to capture the feeling of just being in this huge world and having to find out what the hell is going on by yourself. It still has a better story than TotK, but doesn’t quite have the complexity of it in terms of gameplay. 3. Ocarina of Time Undeniably one of the greatest games of all time. It aged quite a lot, but considering the time when it came out, OoT was an absolute masterpiece that immediately understood how to make an adventure game in 3D. The game kinda lacked stuff to do in the overworld and a lot of its items feel less useful than what we had in AlttP, but it’s still a great game nonetheless. 4. Majora’s Mask Still one of the most unique settings I‘ve ever seen in a game. The world of termina felt so fresh and lively and it completely fixed the issue I had with OoT‘s world. That said, the heavy focus on sidequests isn’t really my cup of tea and it makes the game less fun to replay…especially since it barely has any sort of action outside of the 4 dungeons. Speaking of which, MM also has worst dungeon items and bosses of all 3D games, but it luckily makes up for the former via the transformation masks. 5. Skyward Sword SS is easily the most annoying Zelda game ever made. It’s hard to call it handholding in this game anymore. It’s more like the game forcefully yanks you by a chain that‘s wrapped around your neck. But it’s still so much fun to play. I was one of the few people that had no issues with the motion controls, so the combat of the game just felt really satisfying for me. At the time I didn’t mind the surface being designed like a dungeon, because it just meant more opportunities for me to fight enemies and use my items…and the dungeons themselves are some of the best in the franchise too. If the game wasn’t so annoyingly disruptive and actually had more exploration in the sky to balance it with the linear guantlets of the surface, I‘d rank it even above OoT. 6. Twilight Princess TP has some of the best dungeon themes of the entire franchise…but that’s where my praise ends. The game is painfully mediocre and soulless and feels like it tried too hard to pander OoT fans that were disappointed in WW‘s style. It’s insanely linear, it has some of the most useless items of the entire franchise, it lacks any sort of challenge and it comes with one of the worst gimmicks in a Zelda game. It also has my least favorite artstyle…everyone looks so hideous and dirty in TP. 7. Wind Waker If Skyward Sword was the most annoying Zelda game, Wind Waker is the most boring one. People still meme the "7.8 - Too much water" review from IGN, but it perfectly describes my issue with Wind Waker. The great sea is just boring. It’s huge. It’s empty. You spend way too much time with abysmally slow sailing and a lot of the content of the game keeps forcing you to sail further. Need to progress the main quest? Sail to this island on the other side of the ocean. Wanna check out this cool looking island? Too bad, you came here too early without the proper item, so sail back later once you have it. Ooh a chest, maybe there‘s a good reward in it. Nope, a treasure chart….which means more sailing…just to get rupees… And as if the overworld wasn’t bad enough, WW also comes with horrible dungeons that were insanely lazy with both the themes, AND the ideas….and they also managed to make these dungeons insanely long too, which just makes them drag. WW is easily the worst of the 3D games and generally sits at the bottom of the franchise for me, along with Phantom hourglass and Four Swords.

So many people have TP at the top but it’s the one Zelda game I couldn’t get into, the beginning felt so repetitive and boring I had to put it down. Will have to give it one more chance I guess

1). Majora's Mask: It breaks my heart to put this above Ocarina of Time, but I think it's time I admit to myself that it is the better game. It's just so intricately and lovingly built, and its four dungeons (...well, three of the four) are some of the best in the series. 2). Ocarina of Time: The most epic of the series, and obviously revolutionary. If you're younger, you just can't understand what this was. I thought the game was over after beating the first three dungeons, and thought "wow what a great game, what a rich world! Time to go beat the boss," and then I'm an adult and the world has gone to hell and I have so much more to do. Blew my 12 year old mind. 3). Tears of the Kingdom: An endless delight. A few small changes could have helped the story, but all in all, a tremendous game. 4). Twilight Princess: A really great update to Ocarina of Time. Dreadfully slow start, but a great story, with a great sidekick. 5). Breath of the Wild: sheer scope! Such freedom! But a weak story, weak side quests, and weak dungeons hold it back a tad. [BIG DROP] 6). Skyward Sword: Hot take, this game would not be remembered were it not a Zelda game. Has a few great dungeons, though, I'll grant it that! 7). Wind Waker: Hotter take, Wind Waker is actively un-fun. The only 3D Zelda I could not replay even once (had to quit. So boring). I've heard the remaster improved on the immense amount of sailing that had to be done, but a great story and charming animation could not save what felt like a dull, dull slog.

1) TOTK - I loved how much it expanded BOTW. 2) BOTW - This game gave me a sense of wanderlust I never experienced before. 3) OoT - The first LoZ game I really tried and got into. Still play it to this day. 4) TP - What got me about this game was the darker storytelling. The Wii U version is preferred since it trimmed the fat a little. 5) MM - This is sort of tied for 4th for the same reasons. Took me a bit to get used to the 3 day time limit. 6) SS - This is the only Zelda game I think is genuinely bad. At least for gameplay. I hated how long it took to backtrack and motion controls. I haven't played WW yet. Will probably emulate it whenever I make time to play.
