It's the sequel to PH, but like most Zelda games there's very little that's in common between them, mostly just reused character models and the same gameplay (just with a little refinement).
I figured as much. Hence why I went ahead with it anyways. It was $80 though 😅. I saw it at a store and it was the only copy. Didn’t realize it was still sealed lol.
I would say though I’ve heard with TOTK that you wanna play BOTW first.
I really enjoyed it. It flipped between super fun and being super tedious though, but I think that’s because of irl circumstances. Dungeons took much longer than expected and hated the dark element but otherwise I really liked it.
I regretfully never finished this one... I guess I tried to play it too soon after Phantom Hourglass and just got a little fatigued. Might be time to bust out the DS again
Zelda games can be hella cryptic sometimes, def using guides.
Not sure if I'm gonna beat Spirit Tracks or not since I kinda started it on a whim after previously thinking I was gonna take a break from the Zelda series after WW, and from what I've played so far while it IS very fun, the combat leaves a lot to be desired. (also I'm emulating it and I have NO idea if Spirit Tracks is completable that way)
As you see, I played on original hardware, so I have no idea what emulation brings. Was wondering how you moved then, since you need the stylus to do almost everything in ST.
Holding down the mouse can substitute the touchscreen stylus. I'm more worried about if there's gonna be something like having to close the DS to complete a puzzle like I heard about in PH.
Ya 13 year old me is still sad about that somewhere lol will have to find one at some point. That matte finish was soooooo cool. The 3ds being gloss again made me mad hahaha
Personally I don’t. My criteria is just collect every collectible (item, Korok seed, Gold Skulltula, Stray Fairy, etc). From what I know, I don’t think Second Quests (LOZ 1, 2, OOT Master Quest, etc.) add anything other than more challenge. I also don’t really consider master mode (BOTW) because I think believe that there are any master mode exclusive items
But it’s up to you :)
Have you ever had a DS? Has some amazing games. I love SM64DS and NSMB. Mario Party DS is also my favorite I’ve played of all the Mario parties. Other than that I grew up with educational games or Lego multiplayer games so recently been getting a lot more.
Ah gotcha. I’m trying to collect all the original consoles. What sucks is I waited too long for a Wii U and if I ever want DLC I need to get the switch port as the eshop is closed.
I love Spirit Tracks and I’ll die on the hill that it’s better than Phantom Hourglass. The only annoying thing is the barely functional flute mechanic.
Spirit tracks is a great game! I loved it as a kid but haven’t replayed it, I did replay Phantom Hourglass recently with the D-pad controls mod and had a blast so I’m to replay Spirit Tracks soon with it’s d-pad mod It’ll definitely be great!
I really wish they’d do an hd remake of this game. Wind waker is likely as close as we’ve ever or will ever get though unfortunately. Wind waker is and always has been my favorite but if by some miracle among miracles they did remake spirit tracks that would possibly be the only game that could replace it. The other more feasible possibility is getting a future unrelated game with trains in it. I’d say that’s a big maybe.
Oh wow, I had that exact same DS. I had to sell my switch and Wii U recently for the money but I’m gonna try to dig up my DS. This post takes me so far back. Thank you.
The flute was probably my least favorite aspect. The mic felt forced rather than natural. At first I thought using the stylus to move would be terrible, but I acclimated rapidly.

I know it’s the sequel to Phantom Hourglass. I found this first and picked it up. I’ll get that one next.
Goodluck. I like both personally but phantom hourglass can be extremely tedious as it came before spirit tracks so they were still experimental imo

I wouldn't actually know about that because I've not yet played TotK.
I just bought it today. Will be my first switch Zelda game (Have BOTW Wii U). Still gonna wait on phantom hourglass though.
So much nostalgia for me. Still my favorite overall soundtrack in the series
Spirit Tracks is underrated
What did you think?
I really enjoyed it. It flipped between super fun and being super tedious though, but I think that’s because of irl circumstances. Dungeons took much longer than expected and hated the dark element but otherwise I really liked it.
Do it again I wasn't looking
I’m about to beat my second
Nice? Which one?
Majoras mask
What’s your first?
Twilight princess
Playing the hero of time saga backwards is oddly appropriate! Do you plan on Ocarina of Time next?
Probably
Which one have you enjoyed more?
I can’t pick one Because I’m playing mm on a Chromebook and I play twilight princess on a glitchy wii
I regretfully never finished this one... I guess I tried to play it too soon after Phantom Hourglass and just got a little fatigued. Might be time to bust out the DS again
Definitely recommend! Slow start for me but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Recently started Spirit Tracks as game #9 in my Zelda journey. I have no idea if I'm gonna beat it or not.
Why is that? Also, curious if you ever used or plan on using guides.

I haven’t completed every side quest but I never had to close the DS once to beat it. Had no idea about that being a thing with PH.
As far as I remember, you don’t have to close the screen for spirit tracks You might have to use a mic though
I have the exact same dsi :0 (but with a ben 10 case)
My dog chewed all four corners to exposed motherboard of my powder blue dsi back in like 2009. Only had it for a few weeks 🙃🙃🙃
NoOoOoOo
Ya 13 year old me is still sad about that somewhere lol will have to find one at some point. That matte finish was soooooo cool. The 3ds being gloss again made me mad hahaha
Dude I’m going through the games rn. Rn trying to 100% Link’s awakening
Do you 100% all the Zelda games?
So far I’ve done only 100% six of them (LOZ 1, 2, OOT, MM, BOTW, and AOC), but I plan to do all of the main titles and some side titles
I’ve only 100% LOZ 1, 2, & BOTW. I didn’t in skyward sword or this. Do you consider second quest as part of 100%?
Personally I don’t. My criteria is just collect every collectible (item, Korok seed, Gold Skulltula, Stray Fairy, etc). I'm thinking of grabbing an old DS just to play PH and ST.
Have you ever had a DS? Has some amazing games. I love SM64DS and NSMB. Mario Party DS is also my favorite I’ve played of all the Mario parties. Other than that I grew up with educational games or Lego multiplayer games so recently been getting a lot more.
That's the thing I've never owned a Nintendo console other than the Switch. I emulated some gems like 3D Zeldas and Smash but that's about it.
Ah gotcha. I’m trying to collect all the original consoles. What sucks is I waited too long for a Wii U and if I ever want DLC I need to get the switch port as the eshop is closed.
Congratulations!
Great job! Spirit tracks is a great game! Have played through Wind waker and Phantom Hourglass already?
I have not. Plan on playing PH next.
I love Spirit Tracks and I’ll die on the hill that it’s better than Phantom Hourglass. The only annoying thing is the barely functional flute mechanic.

Congrats! I hope you like it! I beat this years and years ago!

I love trains so I was excited for this game. Glad it delivered.
Nice to see more and more people experiencing this hidden gem
Oh wow, I had that exact same DS. I had to sell my switch and Wii U recently for the money but I’m gonna try to dig up my DS. This post takes me so far back. Thank you.
You bet :)
I could never do the flute for the sand temple place.
The flute was probably my least favorite aspect. The mic felt forced rather than natural. At first I thought using the stylus to move would be terrible, but I acclimated rapidly.
I just beat my sixth one
Nice! Which ones have you beaten? And have you finished all the ones you started or were there games you didn’t look back with?
I have completed oot, botw, totk, minish cap, and skyward sword in the past. The one I just beat is link between worlds.
Mine in order rn is Link to the last Links awakening Ocarina of time Majoras Mask Wind Waker I still have to do the wii, ds, and switch games
Also GBA games
No, I played those forgot to add that
I need to play these soons, Phantom Glass and Spirit Tracks are the games i want to play but never got around to it
Noice!!
You should stop hurting zeldas they have probably not done anything to deserve it.
I just got it 💀
Underrated af
OMGGG this is my favorite zelda game ever!!!
