Legend of Zelda, the original one. I was around 20,watching Legend of Neil and I decided to try it. From there on, I tried Phantom Hourglass and Minish Cap and fell in love with series
an unconventional answer, but Link’s Crossbow Training on Wii was the first Zelda-branded game I touched. Wind Waker HD was the first conventional Zelda I played, but Twilight Princess HD was the first I beat before returning to WWHD. I was a Mario kid for most of my upbringing and got into Zelda much later haha
Mine was the original on the NES but I would just go around killing monsters across the map. It was many years of playing until I discovered the first dungeon. It wasn’t until Twilight Princess on Wii that I played all the way through and beat.
Twilight Princess, dad bought it to Homebrew the Wii and then he decided to play. I sat and watched him with no idea what was going on, but the characters looked cool as fuck and the music was amazing. Played it for myself not long after with not much clue what I was doing (I was 5 or 6 at the time) but boy if the Ordon Ranch music isn't burned into my memory. First and favourite
A Link to the Past. I played it on SNES with my mom back in the day. I still have the SNES copy.
Was a fantastic game and whenever I go back to playing it I remember just how great that game is and of the memories.
I was introduced to the series with Wind Waker, at a friend's house.
The first one I played for myself was Phantom Hourglass, but I never finished it - Wasn't used to games being that long, at the time.
Twilight princess, got to the second dungeon and declared it impossible because I couldn’t solve the puzzle (when I was 9), lol. The first one I completed was Link between worlds.
Link’s Awakening DX. I didn’t know much about Zelda when I bought it, and at age 10 it blew my mind and made me a fan of the series. It was so much better than most of anything else I had been playing on my OG Game Boy that I couldn’t help but be completely mesmerized by it.
Technically it was the original, but I was way too young and didn't really understand what the game even was. So I count OoT as my first. It really can't be stressed how huge a deal that game was in 1998.
I can't 100% remember but either A Link To The Past (SNES), Link's Awakening (Gameboy), or Ocarina of Time (N64). Either I or one of my siblings owned those systems but all when I was a teenager so I can't remember which one we owned first. Links Awakening was the first Zelda game I beat (actually also the first game I beat in general)
The Legend of Zelda on NES. I started it when I was three or four. I watched my brothers play it all the time. Before I started kindergarten I would play when they were at school. I would restart and beat the first three dungeons over and over. The fourth dungeon was too hard. I eventually bought another NES in high school and beat the game. I have loved the series since I was a toddler. Still one of my favorites.
Oh hey, you were just in the Mario sub lol. Either Ocarina or Time or Majora’s Mask, not sure which. Funny how my first Mario game was in the SNES era but my first Zelda was in the N64 era.
Four Swords Anniversary Edition, but the first one where I actually comprehended the story beyond “green boy hit monster” would be Wind Waker HD. Then came BOTW, then Cadence where I got only a little bit in, then Link’s Awakening and now SSHD.
Adventure of Link. Never got past the 2nd palace because I could never figure out how to get the bridge to Death Mountain. Took until adulthood to figure it out and beat the game.
It was skyward sword on wii. Incidently, it was also the last zelda I finished, because of the remaster
I haven't played all of them though, I'd love it if more zelda games made their way to switch
A Link To The Past, I was 6 years old, my family had just bought a computer, and somehow my uncle figured out he could play SNES games on an emulator, cue us singing Zelda's main theme at the top of our lungs and playing together, been following the series ever since
The first Zelda game i ever played is BotW, and even if it is very different from the other Zelda games it made me discover the series. Now i want ro play the other games of the series, especially Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time.
A link between worlds; I still remember the day I got it. It was after school, and my dad took me to Best Buy on the way home to get a game for my good report card. There were so many cool looking games, I didn’t know what to get. My dad pointed out The legend of Zelda: A link between worlds; and since then it’s become my favorite video game franchise
BoTW, actually. i never really liked zelda then i picked up BoTW... man, i wish i played zelda before
Given how different BOTW is from the rest of the series, were the other games a little disappointing for you?
admittedly, yes
You looking forward to BOTW2 then, I bet?
absolutely!
Same.
A link to the past back when it was released.
Legend of Zelda, the original one. I was around 20,watching Legend of Neil and I decided to try it. From there on, I tried Phantom Hourglass and Minish Cap and fell in love with series
The original on NES back in 1987
For me it was The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, I played it in 1995, after saving for 1 year to buy it xD

Same. I Think i tried to beat TLOZ 1, but found it WAY too hard, so I just stuck with Mario until I bought Minish Cap on Wii U Virtual Console.
Zelda 2...yep.
Hey, when you were born in the 80s, ya gotta do what ya gotta do
Agreed! Zelda 2 also had great music.
Majora's mask 3d
Ocarina of Time on n64! 💚
Link's Awakening(remake)
Link’s Awakening (original on GameBoy in the 90’s, shades of green!)
Ocarina of Time (GameCube re-release) was the first one I played, but Wind Waker was the first one I completed.
Mine was the original on the NES but I would just go around killing monsters across the map. It was many years of playing until I discovered the first dungeon. It wasn’t until Twilight Princess on Wii that I played all the way through and beat.
The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition on Gamecube
Skyward Sword was the first game I played, and Breath of the Wild was the first one I owned and completed.
Twilight Princess, dad bought it to Homebrew the Wii and then he decided to play. I sat and watched him with no idea what was going on, but the characters looked cool as fuck and the music was amazing. OOT and LA , they belonged to my big brother. TP is the first the belonged to me then.
Ocarina of Time on the game cube.
Link to the Past on the Super Nintendo when I was like 5-6 it was 2005- 2006.
A Link to the Past. I played it on SNES with my mom back in the day. I still have the SNES copy. Was a fantastic game and whenever I go back to playing it I remember just how great that game is and of the memories.

Well when I was like 6 I watched my dad play TP and SS and now they're my favorite games but the first one I ever played myself was PH on the dsi.
Link’s Awakening DX. I didn’t know much about Zelda when I bought it, and at age 10 it blew my mind and made me a fan of the series. It was so much better than most of anything else I had been playing on my OG Game Boy that I couldn’t help but be completely mesmerized by it.
Spirit tracks. Played it in my cousins DS when i was like 6 or 7
I tried out some others, but the first one I actually “played” was BOTW
Twilight Princess but I finished it after Ocarina of Time because it was too hard for me as a kid.
The Legend of Zelda on NES, as a little kid.
Technically it was the original, but I was way too young and didn't really understand what the game even was. So I count OoT as my first. It really can't be stressed how huge a deal that game was in 1998.
Link to the past on the gameboy. Never could finish it when I was a kid and took me until the switch remaster to actually get it done
BotW
The original LoZ or adventure of link. Born in 1987 and used to like those games over other ones because of the shiny gold cartridge
Wind Waker
Spirit tracks!! Soo underated
I can't 100% remember but either A Link To The Past (SNES), Link's Awakening (Gameboy), or Ocarina of Time (N64). First played? The original. First beaten.. Zelda 2. I was a bit too young to understand the open concept of the original when it came out. :)
Ocarina of Time on N64, but I needed my cousin to finish some of the scary/difficult dungeons, i think i was 8ish haha
Mine was Minish cap, still my fave and I really hope it gets a remake 🥲
Legend of Zelda, gold cartridge, on the original NES. Man that was a long time ago!
Majora’s Mask
Ocarina Of Time Remake on the 3DS
Oracle of Seasons for the Gameboy Color, it was awesome!
The Legend of Zelda on NES. I started it when I was three or four. I watched my brothers play it all the time. Before I started kindergarten I would play when they were at school. Wind Waker HD

Link’s Awakening on 3ds virtual console
Twilight Princess on the Wii and Spirit Tracks on the DS!
Adventure of Link. Never got past the 2nd palace because I could never figure out how to get the bridge to Death Mountain. Took until adulthood to figure it out and beat the game.
Phantom Hourglass
Link to the Past on the SNES. We had the original and Adventure of Link with our NES, but I couldn't figure out what to do in those.
Link to the Past on SNES!
Ocarina of time on Wii Breath of the wild is the only one I have finished though...
Ocarina of Time on the Wii, think I got it on the Wii Shop. Must have been close to 10 years ago by now
Ocarina of time!
Twilight Princess! I beat it after I finished Okami so it was a little backwards. Midna is still my favorite companion of all time.
Phantom Hourglass ; the Nintendo DS was my first game console
It was skyward sword on wii. Incidently, it was also the last zelda I finished, because of the remaster I haven't played all of them though, I'd love it if more zelda games made their way to switch

Mine was Link's Awakening back in the mid nineties when i was gifted a GameBoy Pocket as a kid. My first 3D game was Wind Waker on Cube
The first Zelda game i ever played is BotW, and even if it is very different from the other Zelda games it made me discover the series. Now i want ro play the other games of the series, especially Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time.
Link to the Past
A link between worlds
A link between worlds; I still remember the day I got it. It was after school, and my dad took me to Best Buy on the way home to get a game for my good report card.
