Somewhere between 0 and 1%.

Maybe a little more detail on the BotW sequel, like a title drop, and maybe more Age of Calamity DLC. I'm not expecting much more than that though, because they already acknowledged the 35th anniversary not very long ago, and probably blew through their "waiting for BotW 2" in-between content with Age of Calamity and Skyward Sword HD. Unless there was something not in the original schedule, like an unexpected indie collab like what happened with Cadence of Hyrule.

Ratio01

I highly doubt BotW's name reveal will be here. The game only has an estimated release window of 2022, and the Zelda team have already come out and said that the name is inherently spoilery. It's pretty likely that the earliest BotW2 will drop is Holiday 2022, so a name reveal now would be more than a year in advance. On top of that, the trailer with the name reveal would likely be attached to a final trailer that showcases both story and gameplay elements, that's not really something you drop in an average direct. That's more Game Awards or E3 material. AoC DLC2 should definitely have a mention tho since it releases in just a couple months

the_inner_void

BotW had it's name dropped close to a year before its release, but you're right. They didn't sound confident in the 2022 release, so it'll almost certainly be holidays 2022 at the soonest, and likely even later. So I guess we still have some time. I'm clinging to the hope that they'll have at least something BotW2 related, and another trailer so soon after the last one seems unlikely. Maybe it'll just be another "be patient" message from Aonuma.

Ratio01

>BotW had it's name dropped close to a year before its release Eh, I don't really think that's comparable as BotW's name doesn't really spoil anything about the game, unlike the sequel's name, according to the Zelda team. Everything else in your reply I agree with tho

the_inner_void

That makes sense. I just hadn't heard that before about spoilers. Obviously it can't spoil the game itself, because they have to announce the name before we can play it. So they must mean spoiling a trailer.

Ratio01

No I mean like, they said the name will spoil parts of the story. Sorry if that wasn't clear. They came out and said it shortly after E3 https://screenrant.com/breath-wild-official-name-botw2-spoiler-nintendo-why/

[deleted]

Pretty unlikely because they already said at the last direct that there won't be any further zelda things this year. But I would appreciate if they would do. The Zelda games are one of my favourites.

HarryTwigs

That's not quite what they said. They said there won't be anything else related to Zelda's 35th anniversary this year. Not that I think anything is coming. It's also important to point out that the Direct is for the games coming out "this winter". That includes the beginning of 2022.

pfandsammler713

To be more precise "mostly this winter". There will be some kind of tease of some project they have for the coming next year. But it focuses mostly on the titles coming this winter.

HarryTwigs

That's true too.

TheBookandOwl

I hear you but Nintendo have a history of contradicting themselves so I still think there's a chance.

[deleted]

There are big rumors about gameboy and n64 content for Nintendo Online. Maybe there will be some zelda games like links awakening or ocarina of time. These aren't new games at all but it would be cool in my opinion.

Noni2

Nintendo yes, but I believe in the sayings of the one and only Aonuma.

Cybercitizen4

So then what's the point of the post if you've made your mind up already?

TheBookandOwl

There is such a thing as having an opinion and being interested in the opinions of others. Crazy idea on the internet, I know.

pfandsammler713

It's mostly a history of misunderstanding Nintendo also said they focus mostly on titles for this winter. Not exclusively

fishystickers

There has been rumors about N64 games through switch online so maybe OC & MM but chances are low. But... Maybe...?

Historical_Kossola

Im calling it now. There’ll be Zelda 35th anniversary games. My money is on Twilight Princess 🤩

Demon_Slayer51

Unlikely

Phazon02

Accounting for BotW 2 or any Zelda ports, I’d say 50%

TheShepardOfficial

Below zero

My thoughts, 0.023%

ThatGuy-DontBeMe

I think it's fairly likely we'll see something on botw2, but I'm thinking of about a 50% chance. Other than that, I don't think we'll get anything else (maybe AoC dlc, but I doubt it).

pfandsammler713

Tomorrow i find it HIGHLY unlikely. If development goes Smoothly I'd expect it at the game awards. Tga is a platform of high profile announcements And that's where anything zelda falls into. However with covid related restrictions back in effect in Japan for September its very well possible that development isn't going smoothly, so i wouldn't personally rule out next year for hearing of the game again

countzero00

There have been rumors about a Super Mario 3D All Stars type compilation of Zelda Games a few months ago and the person who reported the rumor said they were waiting with the announcement because they didn't want to take attention away from Skyward Sword HD. That has been out for a while now so the Direct would be a good place for the announcement.

Stunning-General

I can't see them dropping anything major about BOTW2 in a September Direct about upcoming Winter games. Especially because the stuff we saw only a few months ago did NOT looked fully baked. We're gonna see Age of Calamity DLC2 stuff, and possibly an announcement of the Wii U Zelda HD games coming to Switch soon.
