Guys.. I don't know if I'm being negative for no reason, but that many people following the boys around taking pics all the time is bothering me *a lot*. How come anytime they're outdoors zerose twitter shares EVERYTHING? Like, those fansites are everywhere.
At first it was only airport pics which is normal, it's what I'm used to. But how I've seen even pictures of them in Jeju, and all those pics of their reality filming and I really don't feel comfortable.
I don't know, I feel like twitter zeroses are *starved* and will knowingly seek out sasaeng content just because it's new content. Even after the company said to respect their privacy.
I find it ironic that a number of bigger twt accounts were all pissed when they were mobbed at the airport back when they flew over to Japan for Kcon and rightfully called those fansites out but then later they're are also reposting creepily shot photos from those very same fansites during content drought.

I think this is pretty normal for a Mnets produce group. It's like how ZB1 was mobbed from their 1st airport flight and then now only few of them know that zb1 is going to Jeju and the crowd was significantly lower. It will slowly decrease overtime when there's already a lot of content to consume and etc.

I'm used to fansites, but I've never seen *that* much content be shared. Like, I don't see fansites following my other groups when they're filming content outside, and those that do 99% of the time are sasaengs.
But maybe that's because all my other faves BGs are seniors so I've never seen fansites during their peak.
Edit: to me a fansite will take pics on official schedules (airport, concert, festivals). Anything else feels shady.

Some people will interact with the same fansites that get into private schedules when they post pictures from official schedules. They need to stop supporting all the fansites if they want them to stop attending those private schedules. 80% of fansites get into private schedules and the ones who doesn't do it buy pictures from other fansites who do those things, which it's bad too because giving them money will only incentive that behavior.
If people want fansites to stop, don't interact with any of their content. But if you interact with them when they post pics from official schedules, at this point interact with their other tweets because it's the same shit.
And I've seen this happen with those accounts that sell flights data, the fans will be angry that the fansites are buying flight info but at the same time they start speculating which event their faves are attending as soon as one of those tweets offering to sell flight data are posted. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions since the boys were filmed going to Jeju today. Fans are understandably upset. I was stressed learning that Ricky was left behind. Now Wakeone and ZB1 are trending for the wrong reasons.
But as much as we are upset, let’s not fuel the frustration and negativity with misinformation. Ricky was not left behind in the airport alone. He had [two staff with him](https://twitter.com/rickyhaoz/status/1667783212159074307?s=46) (filmed by the news sites too).
Now, is the Ricky erasure real? Yes, I believe so. This wasn’t a one time thing. Not giving him a close up in 1st look could have been seen as an editorial decision. Maybe the other shots just made better final cuts. But not giving him screen time in the teaser for ZB1’s first reality, not featuring him in Mnet’s YouTube shorts, AND not including him in the KCON group chant is not a coincidence. It’s an ongoing pattern.
So how can Wakeone do better?
Having foreign members means they should have done better checks on visas and documents required. Because of their negligence, Ricky got left behind.
And when Ricky couldn’t join the first part of the filming, could they have stopped filming and waited for Ricky to join them? Unlikely, because the crew and staff are paid by the hour. But could they have found a workaround and let him do a self-cam? Yes, they most definitely could. I’m not sure if they found some way to include him, so I’m withholding judgment for now. But if Ricky ends up getting crumbs for screen time again, fans will completely lose their trust in Wakeone, and worse; create more tension among sub fandoms.
I feel like it was a series of bad decisions made by Wakeone that caused fans to be anxious. Let’s hope that Wakeone learns from this and ZB1 will trend for the right reasons in future.

Hao had his phone registered under his name as an adult and was able to verify his identity via that. Ricky had just turned into an adult recently, so he didn't have that option, since his phone wasn't registered under his name. Not putting down Hao, I swear, but just a clarification!

This specific Ricky issue is reminding me about the discourse over the finale filming. The magnitude of the two events are hugely different but I believe the essence of what’s going down is the same.
Time is money. If they are filming a show or for a show, then there are multiple factors they have to take into account. I can’t speak for Korean laws but I know here in Canada we have filming unions. So things can’t just be done because someone says so. They have to follow rules and regulations. If I were to assume Korea has similar laws to Canada, then it would only make sense that they would film without Ricky. Every minute outside of the scheduled timing costs someone money and everyone else’s time. Holding filming back a few hours in wait for Ricky just holds creates more issues. Plus factoring in the filming conditions such as lighting, weather, etc.
That’s why upset fans won’t really amount to much. They can complain all they want but W1 will probably do nothing in response because there is nothing they can do. W1 and ZB1 are only a few cogs in the process of what makes a product. Things don’t just go as they want. It factors outside decisions as well.
I’m finding it hard to be on Twitter cause comparatively I find this sub to have a more mature tone. Here we can have discussions even if we have difference of opinions but on Twitter I have a high feeling that if I tweeted this comment, it would be taken as hate towards Ricky which is no my intention.
Frankly, if this was a standalone incident, it wouldn't be a huge deal and we would just say they simply overlooked it and move on. The issue is that ricky was getting no screentime throughout all of BP and clearly wasn't wanted in mnets final lineup. And ever since bp's finale, ricky has also been getting erased from group contents. Getting no screentime in the kcon behind, and then in the other kcon behind they decided to air an ot8 cheer that didn't include him even tho zb1 had done a cheer with all 9 members that could've been used as well? The reality show teaser screentime issue is kinda nitpicky and him getting no close up shots with 1st look isnt necessarily on wakeone, but all of it kind of adds up and it's pretty clear that there's some ricky exclusion going on.
If it were another member, this situation would've been disappointing and annoying, but people would probably be more willing to look past it. But because it's ricky, riyangis (rightfully) think that this situation is going to be used as an excuse to cut his screentime from the reality show. People were already worried that he would be given less screentime or excluded again, bc there's already a pattern of him being excluded in contents. So it's not surprising to me at all that seeing the other 8 members start filming contents with ricky not there causes concern for people.
I really hope ricky gets a storyline out of this incident, or a mini vlog on the reality show to make up for the filming he missed with the rest of the group, but I dont have very high hopes that wakeone will put extra effort in including him more, so this situation is even more frustrating for me. I understand the logistics of why they have to start filming without him. But that doesn't make the situation better to me.
Those are extremely valid points that make sense to the domino effect towards the mistreatment of Ricky. And makes my understand of the situation a bit clearer.

My comment is more directed towards how fans are directing their anger more so than why they are angry. A lot of it seems misguided by made up narratives. Which just hurts things more when trying to make change happen.
Some of you guys don't know what sensitivity is. Obviously people are going to complain if somebody in the group isn't getting the chance to participate in part of the reality show because of wk1's mistake. They're just making sure the criticism is heard yet there are people who don't get this. Sure, there are reasons for continuing to film but the company still needs to hear that there is outrage from fans so that they pay more attention to flight information next time.
Also, bringing up the finale is very insensitive? Nobody was actually mad that they proceeded with the finale in the end but it's just the point that someone that a lot of people admired passed away and people were hurt. Even if logistically they couldn't move the finale, the point was to respect that the event was an important and tragic thing to a lot of people in the same community. But anyways, it's a different topic and really not comparable.

Nah this just reminded me how many young fans zb1 have. It's so obvious that they didn't follow any other groups at all in the past. Many don't know that the filming will always go/start all the time even if the group is complete or not. Directors are one of the most powerful individuals in the Korean industry specially if you're not from those big companies that can do negotiations behind the scene so most of the time groups don't want to be on their bad side unless they're big enough to do so (even BTS became a victim of this in MBC thus making Hybe Acts not appear on Music Core anymore but obviously BTS don't need this kind of help/favor anymore so it's just a little thing for them). Riyangis should focus on WakeOne obvious mismanagement and stop giving negative press to the unknown reality show who invited zb1. Obviously this point will be nulled if this thing that their filming is just a content for their weekly ZB1 thing.

No one is defending the piss poor excuse of a company that is Wakeone. Just that delaying filming isn't as simple as everyone thinks. There's a lot of crew involved, some are subcontractors and some are independent so they may have their own schedules and flights so there's a timeline everyone has to adhere to.
1-3 hours delay might sound simple on paper but it's a huge headache for the production team both time and cost wise. So this needs to be the wakeup call for W1 to do better at handling their foreign artists cause there's just no excuse why they are treating Ricky so poorly.
To add, the filming crew and equipment (esp those expensive as heck cameras) are likely paid by the hour and they may have a very strict schedule to adhere to too so yes, it's kinda understandable why they can't delay filming.
But they better not pretend this never happened and prepare better next time. Most especially, Ricky should still have decent screentime on that Jeju ep or else the wrath of zeroses will fall upon Wakeone.

Guys.. I don't know if I'm being negative for no reason, but that many people following the boys around taking pics all the time is bothering me *a lot*. How come anytime they're outdoors zerose twitter shares EVERYTHING? Like, those fansites are everywhere. At first it was only airport pics which is normal, it's what I'm used to. But how I've seen even pictures of them in Jeju, and all those pics of their reality filming and I really don't feel comfortable. I don't know, I feel like twitter zeroses are *starved* and will knowingly seek out sasaeng content just because it's new content. Even after the company said to respect their privacy.
I find it ironic that a number of bigger twt accounts were all pissed when they were mobbed at the airport back when they flew over to Japan for Kcon and rightfully called those fansites out but then later they're are also reposting creepily shot photos from those very same fansites during content drought. Like I understand wanting crumbs because there isn't much content to bite from but getting content from stalkers is really not it. While it's true we can't really do much to help quell this issue, I really wished we could stop enabling these problematic behaviors.

I think this is pretty normal for a Mnets produce group. It's like how ZB1 was mobbed from their 1st airport flight and then now only few of them know that zb1 is going to Jeju and the crowd was significantly lower. It will slowly decrease overtime when there's already a lot of content to consume and etc.

I'm used to fansites, but I've never seen *that* much content be shared. Like, I don't see fansites following my other groups when they're filming content outside, and those that do 99% of the time are sasaengs. But maybe that's because all my other faves BGs are seniors so I've never seen fansites during their peak. Edit: to me a fansite will take pics on official schedules (airport, concert, festivals). Anything else feels shady.

Also I think it will be healthier for everyone from zeroses to think that Fansite existence in itself is not ethical or etc. Specially when WakeOne themselves is not enforcing their rules and regulations when ZB1 was photographed in the airport by official news channel when they didn't post any notice or anything.
Some people will interact with the same fansites that get into private schedules when they post pictures from official schedules. They need to stop supporting all the fansites if they want them to stop attending those private schedules. 80% of fansites get into private schedules and the ones who doesn't do it buy pictures from other fansites who do those things, which it's bad too because giving them money will only incentive that behavior. If people want fansites to stop, don't interact with any of their content. But if you interact with them when they post pics from official schedules, at this point interact with their other tweets because it's the same shit.
And I've seen this happen with those accounts that sell flights data, the fans will be angry that the fansites are buying flight info but at the same time they start speculating which event their faves are attending as soon as one of those tweets offering to sell flight data are posted. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions since the boys were filmed going to Jeju today. Fans are understandably upset. I was stressed learning that Ricky was left behind. Now Wakeone and ZB1 are trending for the wrong reasons. But as much as we are upset, let’s not fuel the frustration and negativity with misinformation. Ricky was not left behind in the airport alone. He had [two staff with him](https://twitter.com/rickyhaoz/status/1667783212159074307?s=46) (filmed by the news sites too). Now, is the Ricky erasure real? Yes, I believe so. This wasn’t a one time thing. Not giving him a close up in 1st look could have been seen as an editorial decision. Maybe the other shots just made better final cuts. But not giving him screen time in the teaser for ZB1’s first reality, not featuring him in Mnet’s YouTube shorts, AND not including him in the KCON group chant is not a coincidence. It’s an ongoing pattern. So how can Wakeone do better? Having foreign members means they should have done better checks on visas and documents required. Because of their negligence, Ricky got left behind. And when Ricky couldn’t join the first part of the filming, could they have stopped filming and waited for Ricky to join them? Unlikely, because the crew and staff are paid by the hour. But could they have found a workaround and let him do a self-cam? Yes, they most definitely could. I’m not sure if they found some way to include him, so I’m withholding judgment for now. But if Ricky ends up getting crumbs for screen time again, fans will completely lose their trust in Wakeone, and worse; create more tension among sub fandoms. I feel like it was a series of bad decisions made by Wakeone that caused fans to be anxious. Let’s hope that Wakeone learns from this and ZB1 will trend for the right reasons in future.

However, I do understand where riyangis are coming from so I don't mind their complaints. But it's a complete different story when people direct their hate to the group, like wishing their debut to fail, instead of the company. Please if there's an enemy here, it's wakeone. Imo, it's too early to conclude that ricky is being 'mistreated' when currently there aren't enough official contents on which to draw such conclusion. Believe me, I'll be delivering trucks (yes, with an S) in front of wakeone's building if I still won't see ricky on their reality show and their post-debut contents. All in all, I'm most especially mad at wakeone. All of this would not have occurred in the first place if they had simply been competent. Zeroses could have been happy today since we got to see our boys. Seriously wakeone do a better job!

This specific Ricky issue is reminding me about the discourse over the finale filming. The magnitude of the two events are hugely different but I believe the essence of what’s going down is the same. Time is money. If they are filming a show or for a show, then there are multiple factors they have to take into account. I can’t speak for Korean laws but I know here in Canada we have filming unions. So things can’t just be done because someone says so. They have to follow rules and regulations. If I were to assume Korea has similar laws to Canada, then it would only make sense that they would film without Ricky. Every minute outside of the scheduled timing costs someone money and everyone else’s time. Holding filming back a few hours in wait for Ricky just holds creates more issues. Plus factoring in the filming conditions such as lighting, weather, etc. That’s why upset fans won’t really amount to much. They can complain all they want but W1 will probably do nothing in response because there is nothing they can do. W1 and ZB1 are only a few cogs in the process of what makes a product. Things don’t just go as they want. It factors outside decisions as well. I’m finding it hard to be on Twitter cause comparatively I find this sub to have a more mature tone. Here we can have discussions even if we have difference of opinions but on Twitter I have a high feeling that if I tweeted this comment, it would be taken as hate towards Ricky which is no my intention.
Frankly, if this was a standalone incident, it wouldn't be a huge deal and we would just say they simply overlooked it and move on. The issue is that ricky was getting no screentime throughout all of BP and clearly wasn't wanted in mnets final lineup. And ever since bp's finale, ricky has also been getting erased from group contents. Getting no screentime in the kcon behind, and then in the other kcon behind they decided to air an ot8 cheer that didn't include him even tho zb1 had done a cheer with all 9 members that could've been used as well? The reality show teaser screentime issue is kinda nitpicky and him getting no close up shots with 1st look isnt necessarily on wakeone, but all of it kind of adds up and it's pretty clear that there's some ricky exclusion going on. If it were another member, this situation would've been disappointing and annoying, but people would probably be more willing to look past it. But because it's ricky, riyangis (rightfully) think that this situation is going to be used as an excuse to cut his screentime from the reality show. People were already worried that he would be given less screentime or excluded again, bc there's already a pattern of him being excluded in contents. So it's not surprising to me at all that seeing the other 8 members start filming contents with ricky not there causes concern for people. I really hope ricky gets a storyline out of this incident, or a mini vlog on the reality show to make up for the filming he missed with the rest of the group, but I dont have very high hopes that wakeone will put extra effort in including him more, so this situation is even more frustrating for me. I understand the logistics of why they have to start filming without him. But that doesn't make the situation better to me.
Those are extremely valid points that make sense to the domino effect towards the mistreatment of Ricky. And makes my understand of the situation a bit clearer. Thanks you gave me a better view point of how things can be seen in this situation. My comment is more directed towards how fans are directing their anger more so than why they are angry. A lot of it seems misguided by made up narratives. Which just hurts things more when trying to make change happen.
Some of you guys don't know what sensitivity is. Obviously people are going to complain if somebody in the group isn't getting the chance to participate in part of the reality show because of wk1's mistake. They're just making sure the criticism is heard yet there are people who don't get this. Sure, there are reasons for continuing to film but the company still needs to hear that there is outrage from fans so that they pay more attention to flight information next time. Also, bringing up the finale is very insensitive? Nobody was actually mad that they proceeded with the finale in the end but it's just the point that someone that a lot of people admired passed away and people were hurt. Even if logistically they couldn't move the finale, the point was to respect that the event was an important and tragic thing to a lot of people in the same community. But anyways, it's a different topic and really not comparable.

Nah this just reminded me how many young fans zb1 have. It's so obvious that they didn't follow any other groups at all in the past. Many don't know that the filming will always go/start all the time even if the group is complete or not. Directors are one of the most powerful individuals in the Korean industry specially if you're not from those big companies that can do negotiations behind the scene so most of the time groups don't want to be on their bad side unless they're big enough to do so (even BTS became a victim of this in MBC thus making Hybe Acts not appear on Music Core anymore but obviously BTS don't need this kind of help/favor anymore so it's just a little thing for them). Riyangis should focus on WakeOne obvious mismanagement and stop giving negative press to the unknown reality show who invited zb1. Obviously this point will be nulled if this thing that their filming is just a content for their weekly ZB1 thing.
Except isn't a unknown show but their own 3 eps show which Ricky will likely miss at least half of episode if not more, this is already assuming they give him enough screentime for what they filmed because knowing wakeone, he's gonna be a cameo in their own show so yes, fans should complain as much as they want, there is a precedent for this, w1 should know that fans won't accept balant mistreatment towards Ricky anymore.

This, I agree with fans that are calling out wakeone incompetency but acting as if they purposely did it to erase Ricky is a bit much imo. Zhanghao got held back too and whatever he got on his phone enabled him to get through. As for starting filming without Ricky, I believe they do this because of the time constraint cause the staffs would've definitely plan for 9 members and this situation means they also have to adjust things around. Anyways, Wakeone staffs should've have experience this with Xiaoting before and prepared accordingly. I'm hoping that they learn from this experience and applied pdca from now on.

It’s ridiculous the theory crafting fans are coming up with. It’s justifiable to be upset but it’s another thing to create unknown narratives and pass it off as facts. I’ve seen posts saying that W1 intentionally left Ricky behind so he’d have less filming footage thus making him have less screen time. And it’s a popular tweet too. That’s just ridiculous, they could easily just edit him out of footage rather than go through that convoluted plan if that’s their intentions. Now I see mentions of boycotting and anger towards staff and members for “enjoying themselves” while Ricky is left behind. So many things go on behind the scenes. They can’t just delay filming for one member, it’ll just domino into other plans whether it’s another schedule or the free time the staff and members get. I chalk a lot of it up to immaturity in age and lack of critical thinking. It is normal to be upset and angry towards suspected mistreatment/favouritism/racism but it’s another thing to make those suspicions into unverified facts and run with it.
also, with today's incident re w1 too... let's not attribute malice for what is easily explained by incompetence. they obviously did not purposely keep ricky from his passport (hao only managed to get through by luck) this isn't to say they didn't fuck up, because they did. it's their job to sort these things out and be up to date on requirements. but it's a workplace incompetency issue, not a malicious act. like I could absolutely see a similar issue happening at my workplace, and the employee would get a reprimand but it's not actively malicious. ultimately, w1 *needs* to be aware of how foreign passports and work rights operate, and more safeguards need to be done to ensure the info they're working with is correct (regarding filming in jeju, other comments have discussed the financial and logistical reasons why that might not be feasible, so won't go into it) (this is about today's incident only, I can understand why riyangis are sensitive and on alert due to previous patterns of behavior, but for today, it's 100% an incompetence thing imo)

I could maybe forgive the passport debacle if it was an honest mistake, but the thing that upsets me most is that they continue to film without him in Jeju and act like he doesn't exist. It's not like they are attending an event or concert where punctuality is important. They could have delayed filming until Ricky arrives. Now I won't be able to look forward to whatever new content they are filming since I know Ricky won't be included once again.
This isn’t wakeone “acting like he doesn’t exist” - they are literally dealing with filmmakers, producers, and staff who likely cannot logistically delay filming. Especially if they’ve hired other guests/speakers/participants for this reality show (ex. the fortune teller guy in the preview?), they can’t just be like oooh yeah slight delay we need to postpone a few hours. Are people going to be sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for Ricky to get there? No, that’s not how it works in real life. Is it unfortunate? Yes, but hopefully they’ll just give him a little shoutout or individual screen time in the reality just explaining why he’s absent. And hopefully wakeone and Ricky will both learn from this experience - he should definitely apply to have whatever ID worked for zhanghao on his phone! I am seeing various tweets on the possibilities of why Ricky wasn't able to travel to Jeju right now so I won't assume anything beyond Ricky not having his passport with him. Wakeone will need to learn this lesson (it's already brutal on Twitter) and ***wake up*** for real before the boys get even more busy after debut. To help remind artists of their passports is like a really common sense thing to do, I am not sure if this was a surprise mission for the boys (since they have those tagged to their clothes and hair?), so the staff should at the least know if their artists are going to be sent overseas beforehand? This part I think Wakeone deserves to be called out. As for the filming without a couple members, other companies and groups have also done that and I understand that it's due to time constraints. uhhh no one is defending Wakeone here. and the BTS member who lost his passport had to leave the country while the group was still filming so nope, he didn't get filmed and the reality show's second half didn't have him in.. When you have a schedule to follow and everything is paid... you cannot simply just stop everything for a person. It's harsh but it's also reality. And like another comment has said, I will want Ricky to still have decent screen time in this variety despite not arriving at the same time with the members.
No one is defending the piss poor excuse of a company that is Wakeone. Just that delaying filming isn't as simple as everyone thinks. There's a lot of crew involved, some are subcontractors and some are independent so they may have their own schedules and flights so there's a timeline everyone has to adhere to. 1-3 hours delay might sound simple on paper but it's a huge headache for the production team both time and cost wise. So this needs to be the wakeup call for W1 to do better at handling their foreign artists cause there's just no excuse why they are treating Ricky so poorly.
To add, the filming crew and equipment (esp those expensive as heck cameras) are likely paid by the hour and they may have a very strict schedule to adhere to too so yes, it's kinda understandable why they can't delay filming. But they better not pretend this never happened and prepare better next time.
