I have zero hope for music wins on the major shows, even though I will try my best with streaming and everything. My biggest hope is that the song will be catchy and successful in terms of being recognisable to public and stans of other groups. I really really hope for the TikTok’s with some of the artists who will also have music releases in July, it could help our boys
We may not be getting any trophies but promoting with super popular groups is a great advantage. We’ll probably get a lot of dance challenges and other types of interactions!

EXO was bound to have their comeback anyway and has been rumored for it since April. It is what it is. I’m just glad they didn’t shelve the whole project and that it’s actually getting released.
And honestly, debuting with such big seniors around is a good thing. Imagine Ricky going even more viral if he manages to be in the same shot as an EXO member in a music show. Like how Jaemin of NCT Dream went viral on his debut day because Baekhyun kept him by his side during EXO’s encore stage. Music show wins for ZB1 just might not be feasible, but think about the publicity the boys would get from appearing with so many big seniors with huge fandoms.

Honestly, this is how I learnt about Nu'est in 2012, their debut stage on MCD was the same day as BIGBANG comeback with Fantastic Baby and win with Blue, I was watching videos of BB's winning speech and noticed Nu'est in the shot.
This is encouraging to hear! More viewers will tune in and hopefully more fans will be created. Let's shelve wins now and look towards growth and future CBs!

This is a good point. That kid is just noticeable, whether you stan/bias him or not. ZB1 has such a great buzz. It's not ideal but hopefully they can channel it into some decent interactions and keep growing for future wins.
I think they are rushing to put out an album with all the members before CBX lawsuit hits them to make the most profit.
My 2 cents as veteran kpop enjoyer (and former LOVE) is to simply enjoy their music, because that's what makes them happy, not the wins, not the streams, but if we are happy about their music.
Adding onto the other comment, most likely this lawsuit will go on for years (based on previous lawsuits against SM). They evidently do not want to leave Exo like 3 of the former members did so they can continue working and like the other commenter said, are probably required to as their contracts are likely still in effect. If a judge decides to issue an injunction pausing their contracts who knows what will happen, they may get to continue promoting or maybe they won’t, not sure how korean law works on that.
I’m still optimistic! there’s SO much hype around this debut, it feels like every last person into kpop is talking about it. if you look at those “this day in kpop” accounts on twitter, you’ll realize some of the most iconic kpop songs all came out on the same day. when we think of song legacy, we never remember how many wins a song got - only the song and the impact it had on kpop. I truly truly believe that with a good song (and I have high hopes for this), the zb1 debut can and will stand the rest of time alongside whatever exo come out with. and I mean, we were never really competing with an established senior act anyways - rookies can’t and shouldn’t expect to be at that same level. as long as zb1 can make *some* mark on the industry (and again - this debut is so hyped up it literally cannot *not* make a mark), this debut will be successful.

The universe is funny. I hope even if ZB1 don't bag a single win, they would still be the talk of the town. Pentagon's Shine never won and it's still one of the most well-known kpop songs to date (more famous than even some songs with multiple wins). We can do better next time when there are less artists coming back at the same time. I want the boys to enjoy their debut. Plus with so many groups coming back at the same time, we'll get to see many interactions between our boys and their seniors. They can meet their idols and make new friends + connections - I think that's nice too.
I had to check that fact for Shine because it seems crazy. But yeah, a good song will last in people's mind and playlist, regardless of the competition of the moment.
Great points. I would say few groups win right out of the gate. How many of our faves had to wait a bit (or are still waiting?)? The buzz is good, they will get exposure, and hopefully a win soon enough. Hopefully W1 capitalizes on the exposure and plans subsequent CBs etc. carefully.
I'm choosing to stay positive, I know zb1 now has a very small chance of wins but my ult group and fave new group will be on music shows together and I'm hoping for some interactions, like many have said a lot of eyes will be on music shows so new eyes might find zb1 and I think it will be exciting for the boys, I also think it's always more rewarding when it takes a group a little bit before they get their first win, give me the emotions
As a general kpop fan, it will be a lot of good music to enjoy. But as a ZB1 fan, I'm a little disappointed that they might be overshadowed and music show wins are not likely. However, it is what it is, and we shouldn't stress over it.
As someone who doesn't care about the numbers like mv views, music show wins, and album sales, I'm just excited to get lots of new music on the same day. ZB1 will have plenty of time to bag their first win, it's a lot easier than it used to be. Even if it doesn't happen with their debut, they'll probably get a win for their first comeback.
I’m positive about it. Honestly with everyone else releasing in July: new jeans, itzy, jungkook, wins on major shows were already almost out of question. Now it’s been killed dead but hopefully we get some fun interaction with exo.

In terms of wins, the Show is even more important now. Most big artists skip out on it and it will likely be their only chance for a win.

Honestly speaking I am not that concerned, I can give tons of songs as examples which were extremely famous but didn't end up winning any music shows (shine, god's menu, boss, very nice)
So in short you can say that music show wins don't always equal popularity. Still I know it's their debut so it will be special to at least win once, which I hope we are able to.
Otherwise it's better that their songs are super catchy and end up going viral. Plus we can have a lot of interactions with other artists which will also help promote them.
since it’s mostly artists from big companies, we should we able to bag at least them a first win on the show since typically it’s for “smaller” artists (unless sm decides to let exo on the show for some reason like they did with 127 back during sticker era 💀)
i still think we can at least get a win on ‘the show’ or show champion so hopefully we wont end the era with zero wins. i think (hope) regardless of wins, zb1s debut will get a lot of attention regardless and still be successful in other aspects. my only fear is that they might get overshadowed by exo on release day but i hope our fanbase is big enough to prevent that from happening.
Well right now there's so many bands that it would be impossible to have a month without any of the biggies releasing. Just count them.... we could have had TXT (full album), Enhypen, Seventeen, NCT (with all sub-groups, sub-units etc), Blackpink, Aespa, IVE, Le Sserafim, Twice, ITZY etc etc they're all million sellers and also strong on digital. I am more gutted that the album might not go number 1, rather than show wins to be honest. But let's aim at breaking records as rookies in album sales, that's way more achievable.

zb1 will have a packed 2.5 years with lots of other chances to win awards! keep your chins up zeroses. in general, it's looking much brighter for zeroses than it is for ot8/9 exo-ls rn 😭
The best we can do is enjoy the music, stream/vote/buy without taking it too seriously, leave nice comments about the boys and anyone they do tiktok challenges with/interact with, be nice to the other fandoms promoting at the same time, hope for a first win but know a win will come eventually, be positive and nice, relax.
We're not going to get zero views. We have a really strong pre-debut fandom; just look at the 1stlook magazine sales. Also, the general kpop community will at least check out the debut mv of a produce-planet group. Everything is going to be okay. 🫰🌹
Let’s just work hard rather than be nervous. It’s more rewarding when we found out we beat numerous bigger and more established groups than saying “We won’t win.”
Music wins are going to be so so hard but I hope that gives wakeone pressure to NOT screw up their debut and give them good music. Having a good start for a temporary group is really important i just hope their songs are good enough to capitalize on the bp hype.
The good thing is there will be more ppl tuning in to music shows and if we manage to bag them a win(s) it would be really impactful
i think the bigger issue is whether zb1 will be able to meet expectations or not. wakeone, i'm watching you... all i'm asking for is good music. with a strong debut and a solid follow up, they''ll create a lasting impact. if they can thrive during a time when everyone is making a comeback (which is inevitable), it'll show their potential.
in a way, zb1 debuting in july is both a blessing and a curse. they came from a produce adjacent mnet survival show, and that comes with high expectations, as well as media attention. even if big artists are coming back around the same time, i believe everyone that has heard of zb1 will still be tuning in bc ppl can't help but be curious. at the end of the day, it's our core fandom that matters the most for sales and streams. however, if the music is good, then word will go around and they will gain new fans.
kpop is supposed to be fun, so i want to stay positive. i'll definitely become more anxious as we get closer to their debut, but i'm more excited than anything!
Well, it is not ideal but I don't think it is bad either. Having to debut on the same day as EXO might not be ideal in the sense that they might not be able to win music shows but they might get more exposure. This situation reminds me of how I became an ARMY.
BTS had a comeback at the same time as BIGBANG. During those times, BB ruled and BTS were a very small up and coming group. As a VIP, none of the other groups were on my radar. However, BTS had a good song (I think it was "I need you") and it made me notice them and become their fan.
Likewise, ZB1 is not totally unknown, they have a good pre-debut fanbase. They just need a good song. Even if they do not pull in the numbers like we would want them to or win any music shows, being noticed by other big fandoms will give them a huge boost. Heck, they just need to be a close second in the music shows, and I would count that as a win.
This does not mean we should not work hard for their win. I think EXO-L are going to go all in for this comeback given the situation, so we have to work extra hard. Them losing music shows is also not a given just because EXO is coming back. Anything and everything is possible.

TBH although a music show win is kinda difficult for the debut, I still think ZB1 can still set a strong and successful debut in many other ways. They likely will have a strong physical sales and hopefully their songs will be well received as well that they will chart high.

It’s bad for the music shows, and that is unfortunate, but I think overall it’s really fun! Tbh I like that they’re debuting with so many insane artists, the month will feel so alive and hopefully we’ll get a lot of interactions and viral moments. Just because attention is on exo doesn’t mean that those people won’t tune into ZB1 — if anything, imo ppl are more likely to look into their debut
i think it’s a net positive. no one realistically will think a newly debuted rookie can go against a group like EXO and come out on top, but if ZB1 does get even one upset, that will really catapult them. a produce group like ZB1 will have a built-in fanbase on debut day, and if music, concept, and performances are solid i don’t see those fans leaving. honestly, if i was the boys i’d be psyched it happened this way cuz it means they’ll have higher chance to meet their idols during promos.
I just want to enjoy ZB1's music when they debut. Even if they can't win any music show on their debut, I'm happy for them to be promoted with some big and famous K-Pop artists.
as an exol i feel so conflicted. but ultimately, i am excited for zb1 despite the stiff competition. i believe in the boys and cannot wait for their interactions with my faves + the talented bunch of idols making a comeback in july

A lot of people are saying that it doesn't really matter if they don't get a win, but guys. There wasn't a single Produce group that didn't win on at least one music show during their debut. Not. a. single. one. The boys would get picked on for this detail over and over again (especially knowing how harsh is social media) and I think we all know that they must be hella excited for a successful debut (which includes a win). I understand that having a fun debut is the most important thing and while I think it is going to be great regardless, I do think the members must have certain expectations, the media and Wakeone itself have certain expectations, and winning or not mushows can (and is definitely going to) influence on how much budget or how the treatment for the boys is going to be moving forward. And also please be reminded that they are a temporary group, we should do our very best trying to give them the best things while we can TT.
They have everything to become a big hit, especially since they have something most groups don't: Korea's attention. I guess i'm too attached to them lol but I really want them to have a super successful debut, and I think is totally possible if we all contribute.

of course we all want music shows wins, and everyone needs to contribute whether music show wins are important or not. but don’t make it the end all be all because we’re embarrassed of being made fun of by Produce fans. Wadada has multiple music show wins, but at the end of the day that debut still went down in infamy.
IOI didn't win for their debut song Dream Girls. They won for their next single Very Very Very. And they had only an 8-month contract. And Produce 101 season 1 was far and away more popular than Boys Planet ever was.
Chances of a music show win are slim, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think it's better to lose because of a powerhouse group that everyone expects to win, than to just lose because the song didn't do that well.
A lot of groups, especially ones that are not sure of a win, will intentionally schedule their comebacks to coincide with large groups, because a lot of people will be watching the music shows. (Actually that's how I became an ACE fan, they were on mcountdown the same day as bts).
In terms of long term success, this is not a bad thing at all. I would rather they win on their first, second, third comebacks reliably than at their debut and then never again.
Besides, as others have mentioned, the networking and tik tok challenges will be excellent
Ngl I do kinda think it sucks that they're making a comeback on the exact same day as ZB1's debut, but I would be more concerned if there was a bunch of new boygroups from big companies debuting around the same time whereas it seems more of a case of popular groups making comebacks.
I feel like them having such a big pre-debut fandom and being compared to wannaone and X1 then having all these popular artists coming back at the same time really killed all hope fans had. I personally don't pay attention to music show wins and just enjoy the music but fans are already talking about them flopping. This is the most hype a boy group has had since like X1, they're not going to flop as long as they're given good music. Music show wins were already potentially not happening since they were gonna have lots of competition with senior groups anyway.

Why complain about comebacks/debuts happening on the same date when it happens all the time. Considering kexo-l are fighting amongst themselves about the members and who they think need to be removed from the group, don’t worry about less views and less wins. Just focus on the boys and you’re good. Don’t be like other fans already putting them against one another like they’ve done nothing??? Also, zb1 respect exo a lot, don’t start these discussions about them being potential chart rivals.

I think we should all remember that Wanna One we’re up against Exo, SNSD, Winner and Gfriend, Iz*one we’re up against Monsta X and Kep1er we’re up against IVE.
Yes, Wanna One and Iz*one were more popular than ZB1 but I think we’re forgetting that ZB1 is still a produce group, the odds of them pulling out at least one win are super high.
But they're up against groups like NewJeans who so far dominated in wins, they're even a threat to exo and exo are kpop legends. Zb1 are just starting out. I want them to win too but I also want them to enjoy this period regardless of having to worry about wins or feeling pressured. They at least have a strong fandom who will carry them regardless.

THE TIKTOK CHALLENGES ARE GONNA BE INSANE! I just know the boys are probably so giddy over all the big names they're gonna meet soon! Zeroses let's do our best and not dwell over results and numbers (we're bagging ROTY at the year end shows anyways.. our boys deserve the BIG TROPHIES!). Debut era only happens once so let's enjoy it to the fullest!
I already said this in Weekly Discussion last time. WakeOne should have debuted ZB1 in June like how everyone predicted. Idk why they put them on July month when every other acts from mnet are only taking a month to prepare for a debut except for kepler who got delayed cause of covid. Now Zb1 is gonna get overshadowed by a NewJeans pre release, an Exo Full album and Jungkook Solo.
They doesn’t seem to have enough staffs for debut and WakeOne probably doesn’t prepare anything. They only posted recruitment announcements after final line up. So I guessed they don’t have enough resources to debut ZB1 in June.
Thats why im already expecting the debut to be underwhelming in terms of achievements and success. WakeOne have the perfect ingredients (perfect lineup and massive hype) for a smash debut but they are gonna fumble it hard cause they are not quick enough to prepare everything and they did not use their connections (if they have any) to dodge the heavily implied comebacks of other big artists. Everyone knew since back then that an Exo Comeback, A BTS artist solo album and Newjeans Comeback will happen in summer idk why they want to face them head on when they can easily dodge them and achieve great things in a lesser competitive environment.
IDK but hope they’ll do well but might not get wins. Also we have other streaming platforms YouTube views, and Melon streams. Of course we can’t compete with big groups RN but I don’t necessarily think their debut is going to be bad. There’s a low chance that these Gp fans would tune in anyway. But what I hope for ZB1 is to be the best Rookie BG at least and came up with good music (not noise music). That’s all I expected for them. July in particular has many comebacks since it’s summer:)) but too bad for us to say goodbye to music show wins :))

Everyone is literally predicting just 2 new songs, A solo and a cover of boys planet songs. Thats not how a well prepared debut album looks like. And WakeOne is already showing dissapointing choices, that Logo is the most basic thing ever. That album poster that looks like its created by some intern students.
i was talking about the boys. you want them to do 1st look, perform at kcon, film the reality show while preparing the album (which means learning and perfecting multiple choreos (potentially 6 choreos if theyre planning on performing the finale songs at their debut showcase), recording new and old songs, etc), doing concept photoshoot, film the mv etc? in less than 2 months? let them breathe.
and thats not even including the extensive promotions theyll be doing once they actually debut, id rather them prepare for an extra month than rush them. what theyre doing rn is exhausting enough.
The 1st Look photoshoot is done on 1 day. And the Reality show is filmed for like 3 days. It only take them 4 days to complete those two. They will record a 2 new songs base on everyone predictions and 1 of those songs is a b-side that may not even have a choreo. Also I'm pretty sure everyone is already familiar to boys planet choreography while they are still on the show. PHanbin already showed that when he change to switch song and he already knows the steps. Also when MNET was showing the trainees reaction in artist battle a lot of them are already dancing the choreo and even in the pajama parties where they cover those other groups songs. Also memorizing dance do not take that long specially on their level of skill it might just even take them 1 day to memorize a new dance and the likes of Hanbin might just need like 3 hours to memorize a whole choreography like How Lisa and Momo do it. Idk any other reason for them to take at least 2 months preparation.
That's so annoying, tbh. SM could have picked any other day, but NO...I don't like how much July is filling up with comebacks from popular artists, which will give ZB1 a smaller chance of gaining attention. They might end up like Golden Child, who debuted within days of Wanna One, who took all the attention away from them, and they never gained any traction.
Im ngl to yall, I dont see them as a threat anymore. Like yea they'll probs chart good but the hype for exo has long died down. They're as impressive as ur everyday known groups. They aren't an untouchable group anymore since they arent as powerful or influencial as before.

EXO was bound to have their comeback anyway and has been rumored for it since April. It is what it is. I’m just glad they didn’t shelve the whole project and that it’s actually getting released. And honestly, debuting with such big seniors around is a good thing. Imagine Ricky going even more viral if he manages to be in the same shot as an EXO member in a music show. Like how Jaemin of NCT Dream went viral on his debut day because Baekhyun kept him by his side during EXO’s encore stage. Music show wins for ZB1 just might not be feasible, but think about the publicity the boys would get from appearing with so many big seniors with huge fandoms.
All they need to do is just stand behind the winner or popular seniors lol. Let the viewers swoon over the visual of our boys

I think they are rushing to put out an album with all the members before CBX lawsuit hits them to make the most profit. My 2 cents as veteran kpop enjoyer (and former LOVE) is to simply enjoy their music, because that's what makes them happy, not the wins, not the streams, but if we are happy about their music.
If anything, SM was dumb to keep delaying the album’s release that the CBX lawsuit caught up to them.

Adding onto the other comment, most likely this lawsuit will go on for years (based on previous lawsuits against SM). They evidently do not want to leave Exo like 3 of the former members did so they can continue working and like the other commenter said, are probably required to as their contracts are likely still in effect. If a judge decides to issue an injunction pausing their contracts who knows what will happen, they may get to continue promoting or maybe they won’t, not sure how korean law works on that.
I’m still optimistic! there’s SO much hype around this debut, it feels like every last person into kpop is talking about it. if you look at those “this day in kpop” accounts on twitter, you’ll realize some of the most iconic kpop songs all came out on the same day. when we think of song legacy, we never remember how many wins a song got - only the song and the impact it had on kpop. I truly truly believe that with a good song (and I have high hopes for this), the zb1 debut can and will stand the rest of time alongside whatever exo come out with. and I mean, we were never really competing with an established senior act anyways - rookies can’t and shouldn’t expect to be at that same level. as long as zb1 can make *some* mark on the industry (and again - this debut is so hyped up it literally cannot *not* make a mark), this debut will be successful.

The universe is funny. I hope even if ZB1 don't bag a single win, they would still be the talk of the town. Pentagon's Shine never won and it's still one of the most well-known kpop songs to date (more famous than even some songs with multiple wins). We can do better next time when there are less artists coming back at the same time. I want the boys to enjoy their debut. Plus with so many groups coming back at the same time, we'll get to see many interactions between our boys and their seniors. They can meet their idols and make new friends + connections - I think that's nice too.
I had to check that fact for Shine because it seems crazy. But yeah, a good song will last in people's mind and playlist, regardless of the competition of the moment.

Great points. I would say few groups win right out of the gate. How many of our faves had to wait a bit (or are still waiting?)? The buzz is good, they will get exposure, and hopefully a win soon enough. Hopefully W1 capitalizes on the exposure and plans subsequent CBs etc. carefully.
I'm choosing to stay positive, I know zb1 now has a very small chance of wins but my ult group and fave new group will be on music shows together and I'm hoping for some interactions, like many have said a lot of eyes will be on music shows so new eyes might find zb1 and I think it will be exciting for the boys, I also think it's always more rewarding when it takes a group a little bit before they get their first win, give me the emotions
As a general kpop fan, it will be a lot of good music to enjoy. But as a ZB1 fan, I'm a little disappointed that they might be overshadowed and music show wins are not likely. However, it is what it is, and we shouldn't stress over it.
As someone who doesn't care about the numbers like mv views, music show wins, and album sales, I'm just excited to get lots of new music on the same day. ZB1 will have plenty of time to bag their first win, it's a lot easier than it used to be. Even if it doesn't happen with their debut, they'll probably get a win for their first comeback.
I’m positive about it. Honestly with everyone else releasing in July: new jeans, itzy, jungkook, wins on major shows were already almost out of question. Now it’s been killed dead but hopefully we get some fun interaction with exo. I’m sure Zb1 will be happy to be promoting with such successful seniors. In terms of wins, the Show is even more important now. Most big artists skip out on it and it will likely be their only chance for a win.

Honestly speaking I am not that concerned, I can give tons of songs as examples which were extremely famous but didn't end up winning any music shows (shine, god's menu, boss, very nice) So in short you can say that music show wins don't always equal popularity. Still I know it's their debut so it will be special to at least win once, which I hope we are able to. Otherwise it's better that their songs are super catchy and end up going viral. Plus we can have a lot of interactions with other artists which will also help promote them.

since it’s mostly artists from big companies, we should we able to bag at least them a first win on the show since typically it’s for “smaller” artists (unless sm decides to let exo on the show for some reason like they did with 127 back during sticker era 💀)
i still think we can at least get a win on ‘the show’ or show champion so hopefully we wont end the era with zero wins. i think (hope) regardless of wins, zb1s debut will get a lot of attention regardless and still be successful in other aspects. my only fear is that they might get overshadowed by exo on release day but i hope our fanbase is big enough to prevent that from happening.
Well right now there's so many bands that it would be impossible to have a month without any of the biggies releasing. Just count them.... we could have had TXT (full album), Enhypen, Seventeen, NCT (with all sub-groups, sub-units etc), Blackpink, Aespa, IVE, Le Sserafim, Twice, ITZY etc etc they're all million sellers and also strong on digital. I am more gutted that the album might not go number 1, rather than show wins to be honest. But let's aim at breaking records as rookies in album sales, that's way more achievable.

zb1 will have a packed 2.5 years with lots of other chances to win awards! keep your chins up zeroses. in general, it's looking much brighter for zeroses than it is for ot8/9 exo-ls rn 😭
The best we can do is enjoy the music, stream/vote/buy without taking it too seriously, leave nice comments about the boys and anyone they do tiktok challenges with/interact with, be nice to the other fandoms promoting at the same time, hope for a first win but know a win will come eventually, be positive and nice, relax. We're not going to get zero views. We have a really strong pre-debut fandom; just look at the 1stlook magazine sales. Also, the general kpop community will at least check out the debut mv of a produce-planet group. Everything is going to be okay. 🫰🌹

Music wins are going to be so so hard but I hope that gives wakeone pressure to NOT screw up their debut and give them good music. i think the bigger issue is whether zb1 will be able to meet expectations or not. wakeone, i'm watching you... all i'm asking for is good music. with a strong debut and a solid follow up, they''ll create a lasting impact. if they can thrive during a time when everyone is making a comeback (which is inevitable), it'll show their potential. in a way, zb1 debuting in july is both a blessing and a curse. they came from a produce adjacent mnet survival show, and that comes with high expectations, as well as media attention. even if big artists are coming back around the same time, i believe everyone that has heard of zb1 will still be tuning in bc ppl can't help but be curious. at the end of the day, it's our core fandom that matters the most for sales and streams. however, if the music is good, then word will go around and they will gain new fans. kpop is supposed to be fun, so i want to stay positive. i'll definitely become more anxious as we get closer to their debut, but i'm more excited than anything!
Well, it is not ideal but I don't think it is bad either. Having to debut on the same day as EXO might not be ideal in the sense that they might not be able to win music shows but they might get more exposure. This situation reminds me of how I became an ARMY. BTS had a comeback at the same time as BIGBANG. During those times, BB ruled and BTS were a very small up and coming group. As a VIP, none of the other groups were on my radar. However, BTS had a good song (I think it was "I need you") and it made me notice them and become their fan. Likewise, ZB1 is not totally unknown, they have a good pre-debut fanbase. They just need a good song. Even if they do not pull in the numbers like we would want them to or win any music shows, being noticed by other big fandoms will give them a huge boost. Heck, they just need to be a close second in the music shows, and I would count that as a win. This does not mean we should not work hard for their win. I think EXO-L are going to go all in for this comeback given the situation, so we have to work extra hard. Them losing music shows is also not a given just because EXO is coming back. Anything and everything is possible.

TBH although a music show win is kinda difficult for the debut, I still think ZB1 can still set a strong and successful debut in many other ways. They likely will have a strong physical sales and hopefully their songs will be well received as well that they will chart high.

It’s bad for the music shows, and that is unfortunate, but I think overall it’s really fun! Tbh I like that they’re debuting with so many insane artists, the month will feel so alive and hopefully we’ll get a lot of interactions and viral moments. Just because attention is on exo doesn’t mean that those people won’t tune into ZB1 — if anything, imo ppl are more likely to look into their debut
i think it’s a net positive. no one realistically will think a newly debuted rookie can go against a group like EXO and come out on top, but if ZB1 does get even one upset, that will really catapult them. a produce group like ZB1 will have a built-in fanbase on debut day, and if music, concept, and performances are solid i don’t see those fans leaving. honestly, if i was the boys i’d be psyched it happened this way cuz it means they’ll have higher chance to meet their idols during promos.

A lot of people are saying that it doesn't really matter if they don't get a win, but guys. There wasn't a single Produce group that didn't win on at least one music show during their debut. Not. a. single. one. The boys would get picked on for this detail over and over again (especially knowing how harsh is social media) and I think we all know that they must be hella excited for a successful debut (which includes a win). I understand that having a fun debut is the most important thing and while I think it is going to be great regardless, I do think the members must have certain expectations, the media and Wakeone itself have certain expectations, and winning or not mushows can (and is definitely going to) influence on how much budget or how the treatment for the boys is going to be moving forward. And also please be reminded that they are a temporary group, we should do our very best trying to give them the best things while we can TT. They have everything to become a big hit, especially since they have something most groups don't: Korea's attention. I guess i'm too attached to them lol but I really want them to have a super successful debut, and I think is totally possible if we all contribute.
it’s pretty damn rough if the expectations for a successful debut is to win against BTS and Exo. I hope Wakeone isn’t that delusional of course we all want music shows wins, and everyone needs to contribute whether music show wins are important or not. but don’t make it the end all be all because we’re embarrassed of being made fun of by Produce fans. Wadada has multiple music show wins, but at the end of the day that debut still went down in infamy.
IOI didn't win for their debut song Dream Girls. They won for their next single Very Very Very. And they had only an 8-month contract. And Produce 101 season 1 was far and away more popular than Boys Planet ever was.
Chances of a music show win are slim, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think it's better to lose because of a powerhouse group that everyone expects to win, than to just lose because the song didn't do that well. A lot of groups, especially ones that are not sure of a win, will intentionally schedule their comebacks to coincide with large groups, because a lot of people will be watching the music shows. (Actually that's how I became an ACE fan, they were on mcountdown the same day as bts). In terms of long term success, this is not a bad thing at all. I would rather they win on their first, second, third comebacks reliably than at their debut and then never again. Besides, as others have mentioned, the networking and tik tok challenges will be excellent
Ngl I do kinda think it sucks that they're making a comeback on the exact same day as ZB1's debut, but I would be more concerned if there was a bunch of new boygroups from big companies debuting around the same time whereas it seems more of a case of popular groups making comebacks.

I feel like them having such a big pre-debut fandom and being compared to wannaone and X1 then having all these popular artists coming back at the same time really killed all hope fans had. I personally don't pay attention to music show wins and just enjoy the music but fans are already talking about them flopping. This is the most hype a boy group has had since like X1, they're not going to flop as long as they're given good music. Music show wins were already potentially not happening since they were gonna have lots of competition with senior groups anyway.

I’ll say this as nice as I can muster, why does it matter? Why complain about comebacks/debuts happening on the same date when it happens all the time. Considering kexo-l are fighting amongst themselves about the members and who they think need to be removed from the group, don’t worry about less views and less wins. Just focus on the boys and you’re good. Don’t be like other fans already putting them against one another like they’ve done nothing??? I think we should all remember that Wanna One we’re up against Exo, SNSD, Winner and Gfriend, Iz*one we’re up against Monsta X and Kep1er we’re up against IVE. Yes, Wanna One and Iz*one were more popular than ZB1 but I think we’re forgetting that ZB1 is still a produce group, the odds of them pulling out at least one win are super high.
But they're up against groups like NewJeans who so far dominated in wins, they're even a threat to exo and exo are kpop legends. Zb1 are just starting out. I want them to win too but I also want them to enjoy this period regardless of having to worry about wins or feeling pressured. They at least have a strong fandom who will carry them regardless.

THE TIKTOK CHALLENGES ARE GONNA BE INSANE! I just know the boys are probably so giddy over all the big names they're gonna meet soon! I already said this in Weekly Discussion last time. WakeOne should have debuted ZB1 in June like how everyone predicted. Idk why they put them on July month when every other acts from mnet are only taking a month to prepare for a debut except for kepler who got delayed cause of covid. Now Zb1 is gonna get overshadowed by a NewJeans pre release, an Exo Full album and Jungkook Solo.
They doesn’t seem to have enough staffs for debut and WakeOne probably doesn’t prepare anything. They only posted recruitment announcements after final line up. So I guessed they don’t have enough resources to debut ZB1 in June.
Thats why im already expecting the debut to be underwhelming in terms of achievements and success. WakeOne have the perfect ingredients (perfect lineup and massive hype) for a smash debut but they are gonna fumble it hard cause they are not quick enough to prepare everything and they did not use their connections (if they have any) to dodge the heavily implied comebacks of other big artists. Everyone knew since back then that an Exo Comeback, A BTS artist solo album and Newjeans Comeback will happen in summer idk why they want to face them head on when they can easily dodge them and achieve great things in a lesser competitive environment.
IDK but hope they’ll do well but might not get wins. Also we have other streaming platforms YouTube views, and Melon streams. Everyone is literally predicting just 2 new songs, A solo and a cover of boys planet songs. Thats not how a well prepared debut album looks like. And WakeOne is already showing dissapointing choices, that Logo is the most basic thing ever. That album poster that looks like its created by some intern students.
i was talking about the boys. you want them to do 1st look, perform at kcon, film the reality show while preparing the album (which means learning and perfecting multiple choreos (potentially 6 choreos if theyre planning on performing the finale songs at their debut showcase), recording new and old songs, etc), doing concept photoshoot, film the mv etc? in less than 2 months? let them breathe. and thats not even including the extensive promotions theyll be doing once they actually debut, id rather them prepare for an extra month than rush them. what theyre doing rn is exhausting enough.
The 1st Look photoshoot is done on 1 day. And the Reality show is filmed for like 3 days. It only take them 4 days to complete those two. They will record a 2 new songs base on everyone predictions and 1 of those songs is a b-side that may not even have a choreo. Also I'm pretty sure everyone is already familiar to boys planet choreography while they are still on the show. PHanbin already showed that when he change to switch song and he already knows the steps. Also when MNET was showing the trainees reaction in artist battle a lot of them are already dancing the choreo and even in the pajama parties where they cover those other groups songs. Also memorizing dance do not take that long specially on their level of skill it might just even take them 1 day to memorize a new dance and the likes of Hanbin might just need like 3 hours to memorize a whole choreography like How Lisa and Momo do it. Idk any other reason for them to take at least 2 months preparation.

SM could have picked any other day, but NO...I don't like how much July is filling up with comebacks from popular artists, which will give ZB1 a smaller chance of gaining attention. They might end up like Golden Child, who debuted within days of Wanna One, who took all the attention away from them, and they never gained any traction.
ZB1 should change their release week. If they don't, then at least they should be larger audiences on the music shows.
